- In this video I want to show you how I pack light for a five-week trip through Scandinavia in summer.
Minimalist packing is always important to me but on this Interrail trip, we will travel by train and bus and staying various Airbnbs. This means it is especially important to have a comfortable amount of luggage because we will have many travel days and it also makes one bag travel possible because we don't have to bring camping gear.

The "what's the worst thing that could happen?" approach really changes things for me, with that in mind my packing usually turns out to be much more efficient and stress free 😌
I always bring flipflops. The worst that can happen if I don’t bring them are warts picked up in campsite/airbnb showers.
A tip coming from northern Finland: If you are staying in a cabin without electricity, I'm guessing you are staying in the country side or in the woods. You may then need a mosquito net for sleeping, even inside the cabin. The mosquitos can get inside and you only need one mosquito to not be able to sleep. These nets you can also buy from almost every bigger supermarket and they don't weigh a lot.
Luckily the cabin without electricity is in southern Norway without mosquitos. But maybe the cabin in northern Sweden at the lake will have a lot of mosquitos so I'll consider buying a net! ☺️
I recomend you to buy the insekt spray in scandinavia! We are travelling to finnland since years now and we made the experience that our sprays are not really working there. This is something you don't have to worry about because you get this stuff und every supermarkt there. I wish you a good trip. Melanie

Any idea what mosquito repellant actually works. Tried them all inc deet ..useless except for 1 in Sri Lanka but cant remember name! Desparate to find sthing please

Enjoy your trip! This video was very interesting for me as I am about to leave for an overseas trip tomorrow and I'm packing carry-on luggage only so I don't need to worry about bags being lost. I'm going to the UK for 5 weeks, travelling on trains, buses and ferries so I also needed it to be manageable weight for me. I then go to Thailand for 3 weeks on my way back to Australia so packing for very different climates too!
What?! No book to read or travel journal ;) I know they add weight but these are always essentials for me… but then I have the luxury of not having to bring a laptop to work, so I understand. Enjoy your trip and I look forward to seeing your next uploads 🙂

I am so interested in what you pack with a child as I would also pack minimal but have two toddlers and would bring two baby carriers (one bigger one in preschooler size for long hikes) and clothes made of wool.

And jet another great video 😍. Enjoy your trip! I’m curious - what’s your solution to any illnesses/medical issues during the trip? This always takes up so much space in my luggage (wound spray/ibuprofen/diarrhea)…
I just hope for the best and don't take any... I don't think it is a good solution for everyone or every trip. But I never needed it so far but if course there could be a time where I really regret not bringing certain medication. At least we are always pretty close to a store if we suddenly need something ☺️
Im curious about the capsule wardrobe! I also made a list a few weeks in advance for my train trip to Paris!
I will make a separate video about the clothes in two weeks or so and then I can already say which things were good to bring, which things were unnecessary until now, and what I am missing ☺️

It is the regular sized one and I am 1.60m which is about 5'3" as far as I know 😊

Do you find the Wayks bag gets dirty easily?
Actually, it stays clean so well! Especially considering the color! Of course, it is not completely immune to dirt but most of it comes off easily too (I use a brush to brush off dried mud). But after 2.5 years I now have to clean it properly I think but that would be the first time 😊
