- EDIT: This video isn't meant to be taken seriously nor is it meant to be an argument to why Melee is bad or anything similar. Please don't fight about what Smash is the better, that wasn't the point. I just wanted to showcase some mechanics of Melee that may not be well known to newer people in the community. Melee's my favorite game and this channel is based on melee, so I hope it's clear that I'm not trying to steer people away from Melee.
People who don't play Melee probably don't know how broken it really is. Don't worry, I'm here. I'll tell you :)
Also Melee is not a bad game, so don't get the wrong idea from this video.
Thank you so much for watching. I know a lot of Melee players know most of this stuff, but this video is aimed towards the people who don't play as well. I also know this format is a bit different from what I usually do, since I want to experiment a little. Comments if you enjoyed it or not are appreciated as I want to make sure if this style is ok. With that out of the way, again thanks for 10 (Now 11) thousand subscribers. I never believed I'd reach that milestone in such a short amount of time. All the support truly means a ton. Tripping is like real life when you run you have slight chance of tripping but the real purpose of random tripping is to balance the game out due to a technique called “dash dancing” which very easy to perform by run left and right quickly.
Finally, someone says it. Now we can move onto a real competitive game like Shrek Super Slam

Now, we need a bonus feature where we can have a fight between:
- 64 Kirby
- Melee Fox
- Brawl Meta Knight
- 4 Bayonetta
If we're going by which character is the highest in each tier list, 64 would be Pikachu
Brawl Meta Knight would win. Yeah Kirby and Fox have excellent combo game, and Bayo can one combo you. But Meta Knight can turn invincible.

Similar thing with falcon he had a third hit box like in 64 but it just doesn’t come out due to activation frames

The reason why Mr.G&W cant L-Cancel all of his aerials is because due to an oversight (and time restraints as he was one of the last characters made) by the developers. The game thinks that Mr.G&W’s N-Air, B-Air, and U-Air are Special attacks, and because you can’t L-Cancel special attacks results in this.
The game is still broken, just thought that people would know
Also because Mr. Game & Watch can’t get cancelled because he has no Ls

Mr. Moncayo sure! In ultimate Rosa used to be able to p poked at full shield health, and oilmar too. In smash 4 Pac-Man grab would consistently miss.

Some of the AI in Melee is Broken too.
Like when I started the battle with Mewtwo to unlock him, guess what he did?
He teleported Underneath the stage and Killed himself!
Even worse with Luigi: He *never* use his Up-B for recovering. Instead, he just his Side-B which itself isn't wrong but without gaining height, doesn't really help in most cases.
In fact, there are videos which shows that you can win against anyone without any input ("Luigi wins by doing absolutely nothing") against level *9*s! And no, quite a few stages which were (mostly) hazard-free.
mewtwo in both sm4sh and melee have suicide problems
in either games I play in almost every match with mewtwo he at least kills himself once
I remember playing through Classic mode on hard, and when I got to Link, he just stood there for 30 seconds. He also randomly stopped fighting at times.

An Ice Climbers player got second at EVO, a Pikachu got 3rd at both Sandstorm and Press Start, both huge tournaments with stacked top players, and a Samus got 5th a Evo, beating arguably the best Fox at the time. I don't see what's wrong with saying they can win big tourneys
Oh and also Falcons have recently been breaking top 8 more than ever, with Wizzrobe taking fourth at dreamhack, and n0ne beating m2k, currently the best sheik in the world. And sheik is arguably falcons worst matchup. And n0ne is ranked 58th in the world.

I know Axe places high with Pikachu, HugS got 2nd at Evo 2007 and Duck+Plup frequently beat Leffen, Wobbles got 2nd at Evo 2013 and Fly got 2nd at Press Start, and Falcons have been generally placing high as of late too. But if any of them have actually won a notable major please let me know cause I might be missing something.

every character is actually reasonably balanced. They all have this true combo. First, you press start. Then you press L, R, Start, and A simultaneously. This will send both you and your opponent to a new screen that allows you to move this coin that represents you, and put it over a box with a picture of fox.

Noah McMurrer might have been an earlier version. Mine's 3.6 waluigi edition (with ridley replacing pit) i think it's something to do with the separation of the Pokemon trainer into 3, but wario i have no clue

A lot of this is probably due to the two year development cycle and Sakurai and his team working overtime to try and get it done for the Gamecube's launch. It's remarkable that the game turned out so well being so rushed, especially when other games are rushed and they end up being like Sonic 06.
jakespidermonkey1994 like it only had 13 months, which enabled it to have some overpowered stuff that was easy to exploit, but that made one of the best smash games ever, because it was extremely fast paced and fun to watch.

Video was enjoyable, but you've basically just given smash 4 kids ammo and or confirmation bias to use in their arguments over why melee sucks.
Also, I disagree with some of the moves listed being broken, like chaingrabs and fox's up throw up air.
When I was making this video, I thought people wouldn't take this video seriously, but I knew in the back of my head some would. I'm hoping that if they try to say these mechanics make Melee a bad game, that they realize each iteration of Smash has an equal amount of their own problems.
And yeah, some of the stuff on the video doesn't deserve to be called broken, but I made this alone so I was bound to have some unnecessary stuff listed since my opinions can't always be good.

Sw3g L0rd I did not know that the knockback was set; however, lashing out on me for no apparent reason wasn't that needed, if at all.
Final Atomic Buster Explanation: The way it OHKOs is if you b-reverse it as soon as it comes out so only the first hitbox hits.
Then any floaty (not just Jigglypuff) will eat 200 set knockback.
Roy's Up-B isn't designed to KO anyone. That OHK potential that it has is likely a glitch.
Its an oversight on B-Reversing. The First hit is meant to do the set knockback so it combos into the rest of the hits. They still use this in Smash 4 for multi hit up b's. Roy can still do this in Smash 4 for similar results and more famously Mario (I think it still OHKOs Jiggs). The OHKO is just the result of a programmer being lazy/rushed and not wanting to figure out the set kb in which it combos into the other hits. After all Roy was rushed and little time was spent on him.
Fool's Requiem it's an exploit. Not a glitch.
