    About to go out to the garage and finish installing the terminator x on a LS swapped 86 Camaro, truck LS with a VS Racing 78/75 turbo. All i have left is locating the switched 12V wire, and 12V+ constant and it should power up. Still need to run the one wire alternator wire to the power port on the holley, but that comes after i see power to Holley.
    Reason for the comment on an older video is just to say thanks, Ive referred to your videos dozens of times throughout this project. Really handy to have someone share hands on knowledge. Heres hoping all goes as planned over the next hour or so. 😂 thanks.

    I used a heat gun to get the bulkhead apart on the one I did, then had to cut it a little to get it around the part of the harness I routed that way..

    You make it sound so simple. ;) That is going to turn out really nice. I hate wiring mostly because I am just way too anal about it. looking forward to more progress. Heading back out into the garage. Break time is OVER! Freedom 500 will be on later gotta be ready lol.

      It’s really not that hard as long as you have a pin out to go by. I’m actually still a bit confused about the speedometer wiring but other than that everything else was pretty straight forward. I’m actually about to start on the battery relocation video right now myself. Don’t have the pay per view for the Freedom 500. 😔

    So i saw all the c100 hot wires went to the lug on the fire wall, which is straight from the trunk mounted battery. So the c100 power wires stay hot all the time and dont need to be a switched 12v?

    Hey brother! I wonder if you can help me. I have an 85 Camaro that I am fixing up for my kid. No LS swap coz he'll just wrap it round a pole. When I turn the ignition key on, it will crank but the "Check Engine" light doesn't come on so the computer isn't working and won't start. Sometimes, if I turn the wheel it will work and it starts right up but it's unreliable. We replaced the steering wheel and I'm thinking something in the column got messed up. I'm thinking of replacing the ignition switch at the base of the column but I don't know if that will fix it since it does crank. Is there a way to jump the computer when I turn on the ignition, and if so, which wires and where? Appreciate any help you can give on this.

    Do you run a vss on your th350 or th400 trans. Or do you change it to manual in hp tuner to keep it from stalling out coming to stops? Any help on this would be greatly appreciate. Love your channel learned a lot from you.

    • @BadLuckGarage
      @BadLuckGarage  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both. You’re going to set it to manual because it’s no longer controlling the transmission. You can then buy a speed sensor on eBay that screws into a th350/400/glide/etc. most are 16,000ppm. You run that to your PCM as a vss input. Then set the output to 4,000ppm and run that to your factory speedometer. You can then correct for tire size and gear ratio the same way you would for any vehicle.

  • @jamest.5001
    @jamest.5001 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Someone without experience or patience, could lay it out on a piece of ply, with screws and label everything first, and remove the pins, from the connectors, they may need to be reused, zipties, tape and labeling is your friend! And write things down! Especially if you are keeping everything,, especially when working with stock ecm, and harnesses!

    What did you do to the red alternator wire coming out of the c100 bulkhead connector?

    • @BadLuckGarage
      @BadLuckGarage  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you're referring to the exciter wire, I believe I removed it. I then used a different switched 12 volt wire to trigger the LS alternator. You will need a resistor and a connector for your new alternator. I actually covered that in a later video in the Chaos Theory playlist and even put a link to the parts I used.

  • @robertcummins6133
    @robertcummins6133 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey Robert l have a 2003 5.3, lm was wondering the years of a 4l80 that would fit it okay or would be best to use?

    • @BadLuckGarage
      @BadLuckGarage  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can use any 4L80 but the 99-up will have the extra bolt hole in the top of the bellhousing to match the top LS bolt hole. The later models also have the better rear feed system. Just look for one with the top bellhousing bolt hole AND the transmission line connections that’s are front and back instead of right next to each other.

    Wich video did you go over your alternator wiring?

    • @BadLuckGarage
      @BadLuckGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t remember but it’s pretty simply. Go on eBay, spend $20 on a one wire kit that comes with a resistor and the correct connector for your alternator. Run a 12v switched ignition source to the Connector through the resistor and done. Holley sells the kit but you can find it cheaper from an eBay seller usually.

    Hey I am currently trying to wire my c100 I have put power to both red wires and ground to both black wires. I have little power flow inside of the vehicle as in no radio works very dim interior lights. Let's just say the inside of the car is not right. Is there anything that could of went wrong. I was reading that for one of the. Black wires it is called srs should it be grounded... 92 Camaro tbi. The fuse box I made works perfect just gotta mate it to the car

    • @BadLuckGarage
      @BadLuckGarage  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I really can’t say for your particular application brother. Hell my C100 doesn’t even really match the pin out I have. As an example, the pin out says I should have two grounds coming out of my bulkhead....one labeled for engine and one labeled for the inflatable vehicle restraint. However mine had no pin in C7 which was supposed to be the engine ground. Only in F8 which is supposed to be the ground for the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR). So F8 is the only ground I have at the C100 connector. That’s why I said in the video that I wanted to do a step by step but it would have been useless since all these cars are wired slightly different. Did your car originally had a ground coming out of F8? If it did then it probably needs it.

    • @brianschollenberg8907
      @brianschollenberg8907 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BadLuckGarage that's why I was cerous. I have the f8 black and white to ground and I have another black and white to ground. I will look at it tomorrow with fresh eyes. Probably something simple I am missing.

    • @BadLuckGarage
      @BadLuckGarage  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m not sure exactly how you have everything but F8 should be an engine ground, not a chassis ground. And it does make a difference.

    • @brianschollenberg8907
      @brianschollenberg8907 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Got another question for you. I am in the same. Build right now as you at the same stage. For the cruise control I am deleting that. there is a vaccum line running in to the vehicle. From the ball when I put a vaccum pump on it it holds vaccum do I need to put that to manifold vaccum or cap that line. And for the HVAC wires there's a vaccum line coming out of there from diagrams I saw thoes lines connect. What do I do with the vaccum line coming out with the HVAC power?

      If you went through your harness then it’ll most likely be too long and need to be cut anyway brother. So it’s a good time to crimp a new connector on. But it should have a fairly small connector to begin with unless the previous owner changed it.
