Even at Alex’s skill level, it appears incremental improvements can be made with the right putter and the right fitting. Maybe in a half dozen years, I’ll be able to afford a LAB putter on the secondary market. Meanwhile I continue to play my Odyssey White Hot Two Ball Putter.
Liked to have seen you try the Mez. So many good putters LAB is putting out! Glad to see them in the hands of my channels I follow. I’m going to definitely put one head to head with my gamer!
Watching video and like even the looks of it more and more. I was 100% its a gimmic a year ago but now tour player(pga and liv) are using them-Scott, Phil, Zalatoris,...hope I get so see it one day
I tested the DF3 the other day. I actually meant to test it yesterday out on the course with my coach. I want to put it through the paces. Because I am pretty happy with my 2 ball, but I feel like it's a bit heavier than my hollow mallet which I kind of like. I really like the look as well!
I got fitted for a LAB Link 1 a few months ago, last four rounds I have averaged 1.88 putts per hole That’s the only data that interests me. 76 holes on two different courses @ 1.88 putts per hole. Yes there are three putts from distance but if you get your line on plane it’s a game changer Far more worthwhile for me personally, than getting a five hundred pound driver
I love my Mezz Max 71 degree, 36 inch as I am 6f5" tall. And I can relate to your remark about the alignment mark, before LAB I played a Cleveland Smart Square for years (despite my mates mocking me for it running on solar panel energy) , the square angles I found a much better alternative than those 2-ball putters that never worked for me. I've played other crazy high MOI mallets before that, which had the advantage that my mates where underwhelmed when I brought the Mezz Max along for the first time. PS. Still they managed to find a (dutch) nickname for it because it looks a bit like a children's toy (because I could get one in my specs in the LAB outlet at a discount, it's got..ehrm.. vibrant colors I wouldn't have picked myself)
Recently ordered a custom spider tour X in November. Learned about Lab and ordered a custom DF3 with a TPT shaft on Friday! I am so excited to start rolling this baby.
Got fitted today at cc ended up with the df3 the the mezz was close i went from missing left with my gamer to making 9 out of 10 almost automatically 🤷🏻♂️ huge improvement for me and the tech seems to be real
Lab is the real deal... I have had every version of their putters (bought then sold) just so I could try them out. I have mezz max broomstick right now and it's not fair lol would love to try the df3 though
Great Video, and show the in depth data you can go into with a putter fitting. I’d be happy with just the standard Rossio you were currently using, maybe you can do a giveaway with it if it’s out of the bag 😂. But for now I’ll be sticking with my STIX putter as it’s the only one that I can say I feel comfortable over on those short putts.
I got my DF3 2 weeks a go i got the standard one could not afford the custom model not had chance to play with it on course yet ever were is closed but i can't miss on the living room carpet
When testing nearly every putter at my local golf store constancy is what I looked for. Went through most putters and it figured I found the three best Oddessy armlock, Spider S CB, and another one I can't remember its name but its named after a golfer and was $150 more expensive with the same results. I went with the Spider as the Oddessy I didn't like the armlock and I got the same results using it as a normal putter. Of course PXG has their Allen Zero Torque I want to try but they don't carry them.
I use a center shafted Seemore putter because the offset on a putter always makes me think I will miss right ( left handed). I would try one of these or the broom version but can’t justify the expense.
Such an interesting video, never knew there's so much technology in putter fitting...great video once again mate and hope the new putter elevates your game to the next level. BTW, I have an address for you for binned items like the rossie🤣😉
Putting is so personalized...I'm a 4 handicap and consider myself confident on the greens. i have always liked the traditional Scotty Cameron blade putters and still own one. But a several years ago i was walking thru Target and stopped at the golf area just to see what they had. I picked up a $19 mallet putter and gave it a few swings and for some reason it just felt real good so figured for $19 I'd give it a try. I have putted lights out with the thing since the day I bought it. It never fails when I play a round with someone I don't know they always ask me what I am putting with? When i hand them my putter and tell them I bought it at Target for $19 they never believe me,
Real eye opener to see putter fitting. As a mid handicapper I've never though of a putter fitting. Happy with my Scott but don't know if it's right for me😮
I just ordered the blue DF2.1. Then I got the orange Mezz 1 Max. Then I decided to test the DF3 which I ordered in red. I will be testing all 3 of the putters at the same time. Looking forward to it. I was like you, I like the T alignment too.
Sorry had a stock 2.1 df,just ruined my putting totally different swing needed to a scotty cameron square back 2. Changed back again to the scotty.Obviously better to have been fitted for one.The 2.1 is massive and cramped the bag for space.
Every YT video I've seen where players have switched to the LAB they all say they are putting better and making more putts. Alex how hard was it switching from blade hosel shaft to the center shaft and funky shaped putter design? I have never been able to putt well with a center shafted putter, push everything right with center shaft
Cappuccino head and white Accra shaft would have been my choice too Alex I've had my eye on it Just doesn't seem the right thing to do by guessing my fit. No L.A.B fitters near me I don't think.

Good fitting takes out all of the doubts on the greens. I still have the old Rossi after trying other putters. I went to the hockey putting style and it works great for me. I liked the old Hammy Putter but they don't make it anymore.

More and more amateurs are as well. The data doesn’t lie. I wasn’t sure about the tech until I got one. I won’t look at another “torquey” putter again. Even though I couldn’t stand the look of the DF2.1 originally, after the Mezz Max showed me the tech works, I tried a DF2.1. Now I like the look of it because it helps me make putts 😂 Performance over looks. But to each their own. If you roll the rock great with a traditional putter great. It’s all about finding what works best for you. But I’m happy to see people keeping an open mind to new things that can help their game. Golf is hard enough as it is, why make it more difficult?
I just ordered the DF3 in the red. I had to take a photo of myself at adress to work out the lie angle (72°) and since I currently use a Boccieri Heavy putter I went with the heavy option.
Just gone over to a LAB putter myself, first ever try with a broomstick. I am 100% sold on LAB being a better putter, time will tell if I stick with a broomstick or go for a standard length putter
Surely for most golfers it would be better to spend £600 on lessons, or spend more time practicing? I can’t see how this would improve my game (11.3) handicap when I struggle to get the ball to the hole.
I am not downing them at all. But you have to like the way the putter looks. This is a huge part of being confident while over your putts. That thing is hideous looking. I would be trying to cover it up while putting with it so no one else sees it. And asks me why I have a boat ⚓️ in my golf bag, lol. Ping offers the same. I feel they go more in-depth. Not only do you get to completely customize your putter. You actually get to see how they are made. Complete milled putters. It also cost 1500 for that experience. But in the end, you have a putter that not only looks good but is completely made for you top to bottom.
I went with the Taylormade TP putter. I personally putt well with them. But I am also used to that style of putter. And the customization you can do to them is awesome. Even down to the custom letters you can put on them. Mine says NO 3 PUTTS on the bottom back. You can even customize the color of the head, screws, weights, face insert, and more. For around 400 shipped, it is a great putter. One that will stay in my bag for a long time. Until I decide to go to ping for my custom-made Ping putter experience.
@HowGoodGolf I am not downing it at all. I actually like what is behind it as in balance and other things. But for me personally, I can't get past the looks. If I was a tour pro using their putter, I am sure they would make one completely custom to my liking, lol. But I am not and far from it.
