Hello, I'm Tom from the fitting in this video. Thank-you Ian and Club Champion for having me on the show. I had an eye opening experience. Can't wait to play that driver on the course.
U didn't need a fitting for a club but it def helped confidence. U needed a lesson and reassurance/validation on your swing. Great interaction and swing.
I rarely comment on fitting videos and cannot begin to count the number of fitting videos I’ve watched (in the 100’s?) across a lot of TH-camrs and manufacturers. This is best of the bunch, Tom’s game is in the ballpark of a lot of golfers and Ian’s fitting strategy and explanation of adjustments is clearly explained. Five stars Ian.
This is the type of video that brought us to the channel and we miss. The moderate swing speed mid handicap fitting that we can relate to and aspire to be fit and play better. Love it.
these are the fittings we like to see. Mid handicappers with slow to moderate swing speeds. This fitting will appeal to so many golfers. Enough with the big hitters, that's all youtube is anymore, we don't want it or need it. GREAT VIDEO!!!
I'm going to start thinking about sweet spot awareness. I'm a fader of the ball with the driver. I'm going to try thinking about hitting more on the toe to see if I can bring some draw spin into my drives. this is exciting! Thanks to you both!!! 😊
Wow like literally night and day! Driving 240 with the old stealth vs now 290-300 with the new setup is insane. Dropping to a 10 cap for sure! Welcome to Vancouver!
TXG for sure! Because unfortunately, you won’t get this level of fitting at just any Club Champion! I’ve had several friends who went to CC for fittings, and they had nothing positive to say about it! 😉
Man, this was such a good video. I'd kill for an experience like this. I've gone from a 12 to a 14 this season, and my game only feels like it is only getting worse. Watching sessions like this fills me hope, and then the range session this evening leaves me super confused. Nice work to Tom. He was a great guest!
Ian is a world class top echelon club fitter. He's intuitive and really talented. I was fitted once. At the end of a too long session the fitter tried to sell me a whole bag that did not improve my distance or accuracy over the clubs I already owned. When the fitter wanted me to sign on the dotted line ($3,500) I just smiled and walked out the door.
Thank you so much about addressing the ball at the toe for a draw shape. Been trying so hard to swing from the inside. But struggle. This tip has helped me massively on its first attempt tonight not a single shot faded and or sliced. Need to try out on course but looking forward to trying again in couple days. Back sore now lol
I got fitted in Glasgow ,Scotland and the difference to my driving was superb, ended up with a stealth plus 2 with an LA Golf A shaft., Changed my game and now a 9 handicapper.
Great stuff Ian and Tom! This has got to be the exemplar between a "good" and "great" club fitting. I'd suspect any competent fitter can piece together equipment to improve your game, but Ian is truly helping his client. Realizing that Tom has a far better swing than his results would suggest, and simply drawing Tom's attention to strike location was (by far) the most beneficial aspect of this fitting! Great job guys.
What a great fitting. I got fit into GT2 this year coming from my custom fit TS3 that I got fit into in 2019. The change has been incredible. The forgiveness with the spin retention has returned driving to a strength in my game. Not reaching for my 3 wood or long iron off the tee anymore. Better dispersion and about 8 yds gain during the fitting and now that I've been playing with it and gotten used to the new set up I'm seeing around 15yds on the course.
That was so good to watch! First try Ian nails it. 😂 Tom was a great representation of speed of a lot of us amateurs. Now with his new secret weapon, he’ll be up in the elite category with the legendary Marty Boy. Awesome!
Great fitting! So nice to see a fitter actually work with the player to improve not just sell a club or get the fitting over. I wish Ian was in upstate NY!
This was a great fitting to watch. I could relate to Tom's left/right miss hits with his original driver. But he really started timing up the new shaft and center striking that driver perfectly.
Cracking video!! This is what we love to see. Not that we don’t enjoy seeing Ian’s stripe show but more relatable for the majority of viewers/golfers. Well Done Team.
Also had a positive experience with my local Club Champion fitter in CA, gained 30 yards with the Titleist GT3 10 degree adjusted to 11.5 loft, T2 weight setting, BGT Brava R Shaft, midsize grip and set up with toe behind ball for more consistent center strikes. The Ventus Blue+ was also a great shaft option. Ian is a golf magician!
After watching this fitting at club champion I will make sure I get fitted for my driver! Never take it for granted that what I’m told or suggested that I need. I’m already considering getting this done! there is a store in Memphis that will get my business.
Very eye-opening! I'm also 15 handicap with a slice that rears it's head every now and then - I've considered swing path and clubface being open, but never considered heel-strikes being the problem before.
Awesome video.....Ian is the man. His knowledge and perception of how each individual swings the club staggers me. I'd love a fitting with Ian and well done to Tom, massive gains 🙂
This was great to watch. I did a fitting for my TSR3 thru Titleist a couple years ago and had a similar experience. It’s reassuring to know you’re playing with equipment that’s optimized for your swing.
Played with Tom in the summer. He definitely is better than his cap and this fitting will definitely get his cap down for sure. Great job by Ian and all the staff at club champion. Get fit. Go low!
Great great fitting! Ian this may be the best video in a long line of fitting videos. I think more people would buy into fittings if they were more like this. Congrats Tom swing definitely looks good 👍
Love this fitting, so nice to see a regular golfer fitting. I am about same hc but on the edge of my irons and potentially need more workable irons instead of game improvement. 61 yrs, hobby golfer when I have time, about same swing speed maybe a little slower. 5’11”. Need to play more, lol.
Great fitting and Ian showing how he not only knows equipment but the small changes to not band aid things. Maybe one day the US club champions start to integrate some of these things. Even just the ability to switch grips sizes would be nice.
Great video and great outcome for Tom. Strike point is very important and I’ve recently read the Four Foundations of Golf book and strike point is mentioned a lot in it. Says it’s a lost art like you said Ian. Just shows the importance of hitting the centre. Well done 👍
A very impressive turnaround. Your knowledge and insight always makes for great viewing Ian and great work Tom! The real interesting thing to see would be to see Tom go back to the original driver and just work on strike and see what his numbers were like then. He may not have been able to centre his strike as effectively without changing swing weight and subsequent change in shaft deflection / timing etc but would be interesting to see if he just changed strike intention with the Stealth whether that would have been enough to significantly improve his numbers without the 'need' ( and cost) of the new club.
love these fittings, but my question is why not go through all the options with the current driver? Changing hosels or shafts using the same head first? why is it always going new everything right away?
I'm thinking that if the original club was purchased through that fitter, they might try to give it more of a chance by tweaking the setting or changing the shaft combo. However, if they sense that the client is inclined toward a change, they will wholeheartedly build you a new set up. That moves the new product.
Would be interesting to see how much they could achieve with adjustments to the original driver. If anything just to see how far off the original fitting was
Amazing results. Enjoy watching the process and the dialing in. Sidenote: looked like my guy was 1/2 inch away from leaving some driver paint on the ole wall padding.
What a joke of a fitting! When I went to Dick’s for my fitting I got to try all 2 of their shafts available! 😊 Just need to hit the lottery so I can go see Ian!
That's a cool studio ..feels like we're hanging out in Ian's basement 😂 Glad this turned into a lesson, that strike is his biggest downfall. The Olympic rings though, that's hilarious! I'm gonna have to try that 🥇
This is exactly what I went through with my swing this year. I've always been pretty neutral swing wise, but I couldn't stop hitting the heel. Started addressing the ball out of the toe with my driver and all of a sudden I was drawing it.
Did you ever go back and have him hit his own driver with the center strike? Because even the new driver setups didn't perform well when he was still hitting them on the heal and very low. Just wondering how his original driver compared when hit in the middle.
Great video. Tom got a nice lesson while getting fitted. For these driver fitting would be great to see him re-hit his original driver at the end to see if the lesson has corrected some his original tendencies/inconsistencies.
Great fit Ian. I’m thinking this guy’s handicap will drop by 6 strokes from being in the fairway much more often, in addition to being 40-50 yards closer to the green. Single digit handicap, here we come!
Great video. Similar HCP myself and driver is a big reason my score increase. Similar to Tom. Penalties and wasted shots back in play. Here’s to many lower scores Tom!
Curious what final setting was the head/hosel? This was fantastic @ianfrasergolf !! I can't wait to try the "Olympic ring" drill. I constantly think about location, but more when I start having a bad miss during a round or with OB to one side.... Then I do a block and send it OB anyways haha! I have went from a ~15 last year to a 9.4 currently! Love the content from you and Mikey!!! Thanks!
He looked so much more comfortable and fluid with that new Ventus Velocore+ Blue shaft. No laboring, smooth kick, timed up perfectly. Would you say the shaft was a big part of the equation in this instance?
I swing @ about 105-110 with a 1.45 smash and hover around scratch. With the GT3, this guy does not look like a 15 hcp to me, just based on the driver. Good job Ian.
I just wonder now what his distance would be with the new strike pattern with his old pattern. Him trying to hit out by the toe would it be much difference. Most of his strikes with his driver were low heal.
Hello, I'm Tom from the fitting in this video. Thank-you Ian and Club Champion for having me on the show. I had an eye opening experience. Can't wait to play that driver on the course.
Report back from the course please Tom.
@@Sozjot I definitely will
Your swing is truly impressive. Great stuff!
U didn't need a fitting for a club but it def helped confidence. U needed a lesson and reassurance/validation on your swing. Great interaction and swing.
That is crazy! Very nice swing!! The people you golf with must be breaking their necks watching your drives fly now! Awesome!
I rarely comment on fitting videos and cannot begin to count the number of fitting videos I’ve watched (in the 100’s?) across a lot of TH-camrs and manufacturers. Fitter, Swing Coach and mental Guru, Ian is unreal.
This is the type of video that brought us to the channel and we miss. The moderate swing speed mid handicap fitting that we can relate to and aspire to be fit and play better. Love it.
We are going to need an update from Tom and how this affected his hdcp. Great fit and mental queues!
Gotta say that was the most impressive fitting I’ve seen on here. You just changed that man’s game and I bet he drops his handicap by 5 very quickly
Equal parts lesson and fitting. Unreal job with this one Ian.
facts
Best fitting I've seen here, an actual everyday golfer, now fit irons with a guy like this.
Ian - could you do an iron fit video with Tom? That would be super interesting IMHO.
these are the fittings we like to see. Mid handicappers with slow to moderate swing speeds. This fitting will appeal to so many golfers. Enough with the big hitters, that's all youtube is anymore, we don't want it or need it. GREAT VIDEO!!!
Well the big hitters want it and need it small balls….

100%! ❤ Wow.
Couldn’t have said it better
If this is slow swing speed...
So good to see this type of fitting. Ian is so calm and positive at all times, i could listen to his words all day.
Wow like literally night and day! Driving 240 with the old stealth vs now 290-300 with the new setup is insane. Dropping to a 10 cap for sure!
Welcome to Vancouver!
Phenomenal result, just a top-notch fitting/lesson from start to finish. Great work!
World class fitting. TXG never fails (Sorry, I'm still stuck in the past)
🙏🏼

Nice work to Tom. He was a great guest!
My game as well. Very frustrating. I related to Tom’s statement about losing 3-4 drives a round, resulting in the penalty shots.
I like these mid and high handicap fittings it’s more relevant to my game and experiences

that's a crazy amount I would've farted in that guy's face, and left.

nicely done, Ian you called it. Tom has a good swing to see the fitting, his swing was very repeatable.
Would love a recap of the final build at the end. Loft , length, and settings.
My Liege,
One of your best ever. Thank you.
Wow just knowing this type of change is available in a single fitting is incredible. I understand it's not typical but impressive none the less.
One of the best fitting videos I've seen on this channel. Great job Ian!

might have been the most helpful video Ian has done.
More of these please! I’ve never been fit for a driver, somehow a 5.4 handicap, and it’s awesome to see what gains can happen!
A fitters dream 105mph ss with a 220 average carry 😂
@@audio323 Nope I swing it 140mph...I am the dream
lol absolutely. Easiest sale he’ll ever make. That guy will pay anything for that performance boost.
One of the best fitting videos ever on the channel. Chapeau! 👏👏👏

What a professional job Ian! We learn so much from your videos. Keep it up. THANKS.

I really didn’t know fitting can make such an impact! Great video, beautiful swing by Tom.
Great great fitting! Ian this may be the best video in a long line of fitting videos. I think more people would buy into fittings if they were more like this. Congrats Tom swing definitely looks good 👍

I don’t know anybody giving Tom 15 strokes now that he’s properly fit. Well done sir!
First club option he gives him and it changes a crapton in terms of distance & dispersion. Guy’s a genius 🤯
Great video and great outcome for Tom. Strike point is very important and I’ve recently read the Four Foundations of Golf book and strike point is mentioned a lot in it. Says it’s a lost art like you said Ian. Just shows the importance of hitting the centre. Well done 👍
Nice work as always Fras
We need to get Ian back to Scotland. That's exactly the kind of fitting I need!
World class as always Ian.
A most impressive fitting and instruction Ian

His swing was pretty damn good with high club speed for a 15. Love your adjustments.
He's got a great swing! That in to out path is not easy for most of us mid-handicappers.
Agreed, Tom has a great foundation to work from.
Good lord, Bear Mtn looks incredible. Driver can’t be off on that course
This fitting is up my alley. I am currently a 17.
These are the videos I like to watch!
Amazing results. Enjoy watching the process and the dialing in. Sidenote: looked like my guy was 1/2 inch away from leaving some driver paint on the ole wall padding.
Amazing fit and brilliant to see what a 15hcp is capable of doing.
What a joke of a fitting! When I went to Dick’s for my fitting I got to try all 2 of their shafts available! 😊 Just need to hit the lottery so I can go see Ian!

Did you ever go back and have him hit his own driver with the center strike? Because even the new driver setups didn't perform well when he was still hitting them on the heal and very low. Just wondering how his original driver compared when hit in the middle.
His was like a 10 degree cranked down to an 8, which on TM drivers opens the face, so for him that wasn’t going to be ideal.
His swing was trash. The loop at top lol. All these no swing chubby need to hit the gym for a year and hard.
One of the biggest takes in the Vlog for me with similar swing issues. Buy lower lofted and slightly close the face if you increase the loft
Awesome video Ian. Very informative and eye opening. So good 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Outstanding! Would love a fitting by Ian but live in the UK. Goin for a full bag fitting this weekend, hoping its this good.
Ever heard of precision golf?
Tom has a great motion for Ian to work with that's for sure. Nice one lads. Well done Tom on being able to be a great student on strike point intent!!
Great video. Tom got a nice lesson while getting fitted. For these driver fitting would be great to see him re-hit his original driver at the end to see if the lesson has corrected some his original tendencies/inconsistencies.
Ian is a Master Class fitter...!
always love this! Great job Tom!
Brilliant video in so many ways
I would spend any amount of money to get fit by Ian, amazing what he can do in minutes.

What’s the reasoning for the GT3 and low spin heads?
Fraser is an absolute wizard!
So good. I love when you work with bogey golfers. I have a hard time though believing Tom is a 15hcp
Great Job Ian .
Great fit Ian. I’m thinking this guy’s handicap will drop by 6 strokes from being in the fairway much more often, in addition to being 40-50 yards closer to the green. Single digit handicap, here we come!
Given his struggle with impact location, why did you initially go with GT3 instead of GT2?
Great video. Similar HCP myself and driver is a big reason my score increase. Similar to Tom. Penalties and wasted shots back in play. Here’s to many lower scores Tom!
Ian, will you expand on your point regarding starting loft @10:10 mark of the video.
Would like to see Tom fitted for Irons and then follow his progress. He is the best 15 on earth. Can be low single digit if he works at it some!
what an amazing fitting.
I love that Ian has adopted Mikey's 'yeah yeah yeah'.
Curious what final setting was the head/hosel? This was fantastic @ianfrasergolf !! I can't wait to try the "Olympic ring" drill. Where are you located with club champion to do fittings. This video is by far my favorite fitting of average golfer I can relate with
Ian is class
He looked so much more comfortable and fluid with that new Ventus Velocore+ Blue shaft. No laboring, smooth kick, timed up perfectly. Would you say the shaft was a big part of the equation in this instance?

I would have liked to see him in the ventus blue w triple diamond max head. But there are a ton of combinations. Titleist is good.
