Been gaming a DF 2.1 since May 2023. A few observations from the journey: 1. It does take a break-in period to get used to not having to fight putter torque. Took me about 2 months to just have the confidence to turn off the targeting computer and let the Force guide the proton torpedoes :) 2. Results: 3 putts have almost entirely disappeared from my card, and making putts is the norm now. When I do start missing 1 putts, it's always been due to putting stroke entropy (getting handsy and push/pull). I go back to stroke basics and always end up righting the ship. You will frequently have rounds where you are making EVERY putt, and your worst putting rounds end up with no 3 putts...not a bad place to be. 3. Friend got a DF3 a few months ago (after seeing my results). I rolled his a few times, and accounting for differences in lie/length, found the DF3 to inspire less confidence than the DF2.1 and not perform as well for me...feels like I have gotten used to the huge DF2.1 head and miss the confidence it inspires While I most likely would have started with the DF3 if it were available last year, I'm super happy with the DF2.1 and going to the DF3 at this point feels like I'm giving up forgiveness. Bottom line - you're in good hands with either putter
really think that your friend's DF3 wouldn't have rolled right for you if you aren't the exact same at address and the same height since it's a custom fit, right?
I own a DF3. I can say I have never purchased a golf club that made such a dramatic change in my game more than the DF3. In my opinion, best putter ever made.
Who gives a flying fuck what it looks like if it’s helping your scoring like that?!! I will never understand peoples obsession with appearances if the club performs
So you're saying you'll drive a Yugo as long as it runs? Appearance matters it always has. Y'all just trying to convince yourselves otherwise because that putter is ugly as hell
@@Torta--is--PLUR that's your opinion and you are welcome to it. I think it is awesome. It think it looks and sounds better than the modern big boxy mallets like Spyder.
add me to this list...I've had mine 4 months and has only gotten better. Best equipment investment I ever made for my game. For perspective I'm currently a 1.7 and hovered between 2-5 for a few years now. My arrcos putting stats have gone from 33.1 (before DF3 never got below 32.4 at any one time) to 30.3 with 14 rounds of the LAB.
I’ve said this elsewhere on Rick’s videos, but I finally bit the bullet and made the jump from an Odessey 2-ball to the L.A.B. DF 2.1 Armlock a year ago & it completely transformed my putting. I used to be an atrocious putter. Now it’s more of a strength. The arm lock part was crucial too though & you absolutely MUST go through the online fitting to make sure it’s designed specifically for your individual putting stroke. I cannot imagine ever using a different putter. The L.A.B. Is incredible.
Silly that people will completely tune out when they hear $500+ putter but will gladly pay that and more for a driver. Arguably, putter is where you should pay the most money as it’s the only club you will use on every hole.
I did tune out abit I admit but I also tune out when I hear £500 for any single club lol few weeks ago I got myself a "new" driver the cobra radspeed and I paid a little over £100

That has been the consensus everywhere. I retired an old Scotty Teryllium a few years ago for a Spyder. Absolutely love it and roll it exceptionally well. So much so that according to SAM Putt Lab I would've ranked in the top 10 on the PGA Tour for consistency and something else I can't remember. Even still I'm considering the DF3 because I just love the putter and want to give it a go. With my Spyder though I make a lot more putts and really do roll it exceptionally well.
Just got fitted for one at Scottsdale golf with Tom Murray, great experience. Putter built to my spec while I waited. Used it 4 times now, won 2 match plays, won a best gross and had 5 birdies in one round. Results say it all, highly recommended that people try these.
I purchased one this spring, I wasn't going to, $450!, but my wife said "you'd spend $500+ on a new driver, why wouldn't you spend that on a putter?", smart woman! It 100% has made me a better putter and lowered my scores. I used to really struggle with the 3-10' putts, now I'm rolling in a high percentage of them. Very happy with the LAB putter! Thanks for the review Rick!
I really wanted to hate this putter at first because of the appearance and center shaft. After hitting every putter in my local PGA Superstore, it provided by far the best feel and highest consistency for me. Placed an order online a week later after doing the remote fitting.
I did the remote fitting too, definitely worth it to just confirm the measurements / angles. It was way easier to do the remote fitting than I thought it would be. Just record a 5 second vid and send it in.

I’m a PGA golf professional. If you aren’t putting with a Lab golf putter, you don’t care about your golf. It’s the best piece of advice I could give a golfer.
Got myself a DF3. Changed my putting. Feel confident over 5-7 ft par saves. Making around one extra birdie a round. Recommend getting fitted because the 35in felt horrible in my hands compared to the 34in.
The LAB putters genuinely feel like a cheat code when it comes to putting. Wherever you aim it , the balls going there. So if you can read putts pretty good then you're putting will significantly improve
I’ve had a DF 2.1 for a couple years. A friend of mine got a link a year and a half ago. Here is what you’ll notice immediately. You lip out way more. It happens to everyone. Ricked just lipped out three putts in a row. The reason why this happens is because you are hitting your line more often. So you lip out more but previously those putts would have completely missed the hole. Cheers!
I still use the 2.1 and it improved my scores the first day I used it. My golf buddy now uses the 3.0 and is loving it. Your buddy Pete is using it too!
recently played with a guy who had this putter having never seen it before on a course. He was nailing putts and told the story of having retired his Scotty Cameron in favor of the DF3 his daughter got for him on his Bday. A bit later, I went to PGA Superstore and hit some off their nasty turf and all I could say over and over was...Wow!
I first picked a used DF 2.1 and didn't think I could game it but after a few days of rolling it on a putting mat I took it out a it was awesome , a few weeks later I grabbed a DF 3 ( I work at a new and used golf store ) that was traded in and its also great, i do like the smaller head but I can play with either , I have been searching for a new putter for years and now I have two !!! neither were fit but I either lucked out on the lie angle or I just adapted, I'm thinking the ladder as I set the putter down tip shaft til head is sitting flat on the ground grip and go.
I absolutely love mine. Even when I miss a putt prior to that putt I have all the confidence in the world that I’m making it. I think that’s half the battle.
Interested to see the results of the virtual fitting Rick. Also what's most intriguing is not the fact that the putter sinks balls but on misses the dispersion is so much better. Don't have one, but tried one from a stranger on the putting green at the course and was blown away at how 'automatic' the DF3 was.
Put a lab Mezz Max into the bag a couple of weeks ago and a believer in the performance. There’s confidence within 10 and misses don’t penalize you. There is definitely an adjustment period with this club, which I am still getting used to. Last 5 rounds have all had total putts under 30. L.A.B is definitely worth the investment!
I had one of the Mezza putters, and although I liked it, I could never get it lined up properly. I just don’t have a putting stroke that aligns with how you need to use this putter. It did have a wonderful roll and when I lined it up right, I had some good success. I went back to my Toulon Chicago.
Been playing my Lab DF2.1 all year and went from 31 putts a round with my old mallet putter to 28 putts a round with the Lab…number never lie. Even had a round with 24 and a few with 25 putts. These things just work and are worth every penny.
If it was easy to get in my country I’d probably order one, I ended up with a Scotty Cameron phantom 9 because I could actually go and get a fitting for one and love it so far. I’m terrible at golf but having a sick putter gives me confidence in the short game at least😂
Gamed the link for around a year, just picked up a mezz max. LAB is 100% a game changer. Dont let the price tag run you away, its a club used on every hole
Bit the bullet and ordered my custom one last week, very much looking forward to getting it. My putting stats are already good but can't hurt to have something that makes life easier, even if it cost as much as my 10k driver 😂
I never considered jumping on the LAB hype train... but after watching your review on this, I am truly considering this as my next putter. Thanks for your review, Rick!
I love my DF2.1, but I will admit its size is kinda nuts. On the good side, the size makes it a super forgiving putter. But on the bad side, it’s *very difficult* to putt with from off the green, and especially if the ball is up against the collar. My wife has a DF3, and I really like how much more compact it is. It’s just as forgiving as the DF2.1 too.
I'm not a good putter, but... I got my DF3 4weeks ago, and it's a game changer it's actually unreal. it feels like cheating. Never had so many 1 putts and not missed any inside 5ft. Every putt I say to myself, wow. I thought the price was high, but after the first round with it, I would have happily paid double it's incredible. Putting was my weakest part. Now it's the strongest. If you play golf regularly, it's worth the investment. It game changing.
I have a broom stick 79.5 degree df 2.1 (blue) for a few years. There is nothing like the feel of a straight back straight through putting stroke with a perfectly balanced putter.
I am lucky. Looks do not bother me. I use the DF 2.1 with no problems. I believe it is still the most forgiving putter in the LAB line and maybe in golf 😊
Hahaha, imagine if every time we open our putter covers, it would sing something like, "yay, you can do it!" lol you're so funny, Rick. TYSM for the review!
Rick it kind of looks like the surface of the Zen putting maybe needs to be refinished? Felt like a few of those were straight off the get go, but wobbled off center to no fault of your own
I wanted to not believe in the hype, but I got one in the bag now, and as someone who has gone through too many putters to count, this one will be staying for a very long time. Go to your local golf store and roll some with it if you have the chance!
I had bought a new 3 wood few months back and didnt like it so had some store credit when i returned the wood and went to check out the new scottys and figured id try one the labs while i was at it. And the first thing that amazed me was the feel i never expected it to feel that soft the sound makes u think it would be firm but it as soft as butter honestly best feeling better off the face ever. So it went in the bag and in 2 months time ive had 2 3 putts and it is just one the best if not the best putter ive ever had the pleasure of using. My home course greens are always firm and fast and usually range from 12 to 14 on the stimp meter and this putter makes it look easy. Cant say enough good things about it df3 for life 😊
I have the 2.1, above all else I am hitting on the line I intend to hit it on much more than my previous putter (Odyssey claw-type). Tried the 3.0 and didn't have the same confidence that the club would not rotate.
I believe Peter Finch uses the prior generation of this putter. I couldn't hear the sound of putter and ball in this video, but the one Finch uses makes a wonderful sound at impact.
I’ve been using the same putter for about 20 years, I’ve tested loads of different putters and none of them have came close to matching my old putter, people pay 500 or 600 for a driver they will only use for a couple of years where as a good putter can last decades 👍.
I think I have the strangest putter of any of my golf groups I’ve played with. They have blades, crescents, a handful of mallets. I’m the one with a Wilson Infinity Birmingham in the bag. If the putter looks good great but I need something that’s going to get me closer to the hole!
I’ve recently put a DF3 in my bag and though you get the mick taken out of you, I can definitely see the benefits! You should get a red, white and black to match your branding Rick! 😅
I myself swiched from a scotty del mar to the Ping PLD that Rick games or is gaming that i know. I really would love to try the DF3, the only thing I dont like with the PLD putter is the weight, I was able to put heavier weights on my Scotty so lag putting has taken a hit but anything inside 15 feet i feel really confident with my PLD putter.
FINALLY. A putter review where Rick actually used the super expensive virtual putting mat to… review the putter and its performance

Put it in the bag, Rick!
Good shit Rick. Love the new channel.
I absolutely love the way the DF3 looks
easily the best putter on the market!
I'm just getting into golf and the amount of training tech out there is absolutely insane.
Have the DF 3, it is a fantastic putter. It will improve almost anyone’s putting. It does what it claims it will do.
Love the DF3, I own one myself and have seen quite of bit of improvement on the greens in strokes gained
I've had mine for over 2 years, and well... It's the best!
Great video as usual I have just got a df3 so shocked at how soft the face feels amazing putter 👍
Mine has been on order for a month now. I can't wait to get it.
Rick, if you haven’t, I’d like to see you review “Honu” new putters. Same face balance/torque free putter technology, but made from wood
Yay go Rick 😆😆😆👌
Love my df3 putts inside 6 feet are automatic. Speed control on longer putts is a work in progress
Damn you Rick. This channel makes me want to buy so many clubs. I already bought a Sim2 from you.
Cant say enough good things about it df3 for life 😊
Been waiting for another putter review on the zen putting green 💪
I have the 2.1, above all else I am hitting on the line I intend to hit it on much more than my previous putter (Odyssey claw-type). Tried the 3.0 and didn't have the same confidence that the club would not rotate.
Got to hit one at pga superstore and was super impressed.
I believe Peter Finch uses the prior generation of this putter. I couldn't hear the sound of putter and ball in this video, but the one Finch uses makes a wonderful sound at impact.
he currently uses df3 with the same tpt shaft.. it’s almost a grand😢
I’ve been using the same putter for about 20 years, I’ve tested loads of different putters and none of them have came close to matching my old putter, people pay 500 or 600 for a driver they will only use for a couple of years where as a good putter can last decades 👍.
Great video! Try the blade version of the LAB putter
Been waiting for this one 👏
Welcome to the party pal!!! 😁
Pete is using one of these and he's been putting really well
I think I have the strangest putter of any of my golf groups I’ve played with. They have blades, crescents, a handful of mallets. I’m the one with a Wilson Infinity Birmingham in the bag. If the putter looks good great but I need something that’s going to get me closer to the hole!
really like these putters, i'm a scottie boi, but i fancy these a lot. would love to see you on course with it for sures
The DF 2.1 is without a doubt the more stable putter. Performance wise the 2.1 is better. Only reason to choose choose the DF3 is for looks.
I’ve recently put a DF3 in my bag and though you get the mick taken out of you, I can definitely see the benefits! You should get a red, white and black to match your branding Rick! 😅
Coincidentally, I received my custom DF3 today. Though I did get mine in blue. One month from order to arrival (in the US).
It gave me confidence. Enough said
You should give Argolf putters a shot from France. So good that they replaced my Scotty, Cheers from Canada
Very interesting. I'd like to see you try that same thing with a newport or standard mallet style for the comparison.
Love it! Will there be a Vice Golf putter review too? Really keen to get your thoughts on these
I quite love the look of the DF 2.1. I would gladly put it in my bag if you want to send in down to Cape Town😊
I tried lab putters yesterday and it was amazing!
I own the 2.1 and it is the BEST, STRAIGHTEST, MOST CONSISTENT putter I've ever used. Used caps because thats exactly how i would say it out loud lol.
Love that putter with the white grip though
Rick, thanks for finally reviewing the DF3! Can you review a Lab Broomstick possibly?
Need for of these in my life, best get saving 😅
4:41 that can’t be true.
It’s not. Pros are 50% from 8 feet, not 6 feet.
Rick we really need you to test the wilson dynapwr lineup! the forged version they say is spectacular
