- In this video I detail why I like the older shonen more than the newer shonen anime.
I know the Demon Slayer is one of the most popular new shonen anime. I just haven't seen or read any of it, so I thought it would be disingenuous to include it in the video.

Blud jojo manga was published in 1987 💀
This video is about anime only
I like how professional your content is. Stay consistent no matter what, your more interesting than the guys with 400k
Imo Dragonball Z's stronges Arcs were the sayajin- and Freezer-Saga - one piece best parts were Impel Down and Marineford. Even though the franchises didn't turn bad afterwards and still could produce great content this is where they peaked as far as I'm concerned.
imo best one piece arcs are impel dawn, saboady and wano. best dragon ball z arcs were namek and buu ( manga version)
Jojo is not new
At all!
Hes talking anime not manga but yh
Honestly, both have their ups and downs. Some succeed at character development, some succeed at storytelling, and some succeeded action scenes. If anything, I say it's important to be diverse with your choices to build a good experience(not to force anyone).
I feel like for old anime it should be
Dbz
Bleach
Naruto
One piece
Yuyu
And full metal
For the new
My hero
Demon slayer
Attack on titan
Jjk
One punch man
What I like about the old anime is the nostalgia and the stories they had it was amazing seeing what would happen next as the weeks went by I’ll always love one piece specially but tbh the combat, and the newer animation styles and alot of the stories are just more interesting in the newer anime section they aren’t as basic or simple which can be a bad thing but I feel that they’re shorter experiences because they have a reason to end quicker they get straight to the point and that’s refreshing to see compared to the old anime the new anime also has alot of emotions in it that people tend to look past they know how to make you feel good I still think one piece has the upper hand in that tho but yes I think team new anime is more my choice but I will say that hunter x hunter and one piece will always be in my top 5
If people in 2045 forget the existence of dragon ball, Naruto, one piece, jjba,Baki,or Pokémon I’m gonna make sure to teach my kids abt it and my kids will teach thier kids and so on
Im a mixed bag. Im turning 30 tomorrow and grew up on old school Toonami anime like Dragon Ball Z, Yu Yu Hakusho, Inuyasha and Mobile Fighter G Gundam. After a few years in Jr High and High School I discovered some “newer” 00’s stuff like Bleach, Naruto, Death Note and Full Metal Alchemist. I quit watching anime for a while after that cause that was peak for me. Then came my great revival with AOT and I was hooked on newer gen anime. Didnt care for Tokyo Ghoul but loved My Hero Academia, One Punch Man and currently I’m enjoying Chainsaw Man and JJK. I’ll always have a warm spot for golden age darker anime. I feel a lot of the newer stuff is just cookie cutter with all the OP main characters or “gets sucked into a video game world” premise. I went back found a few gems that I’d missed in my early years like HxH and Berserk. Each era has its MVPs that belong in the conversation of top anime of all time.
Much love to you big tune! Loved the concept of this video and you did a great job - 💙
I'm more of like around near the 2010s kind of kids which I didn't grow up watching anime but if I told you that dragon ball wasn't the reason I liked anime then your completely wrong there was no time I didn't have second thoughts on what generations impact was better because overall we all know what started us to watch anime and if you where born around those 2000s to 2010s you would understand too or even lower 😆😁😁
Hey man sorry to burst your bubble but there can't be a new big 3 cause it isn't about if those stories are influential it is just there can't be a new Big 3 as those three titles were the 3 best selling titles
Yeah man, tbh I am not a big fan of all the new anime being broken into seasons. While of course it has it's benefits as you explained, but I always find that by the time a new season rolls around I've lost interest and even forgot what was even going on. Especially with how we get oversaturated with new content and shows all time, don't always get the chance to let something sit and revisit, so I've moved onto the next 10 other things before the next season of a show comes out. But that's just me as an old head 😅
Yeah and then some anime that are adapting manga that the anime hasn't reached yet makes no sense why it's anime is in seasons when they won't reach the manga yet.
Please look at the 2nd half of the freezer saga and tell me this wouldn't have benefited from the possibility to cut the filler and give the overworked animation stuff room to produce something that doesn't has as many shots on the level of Chargeman Ken in it.
some of them need it really bad bro, Boruto for example lol. It’s probably gonna be way better now that they’re taking a break n not loading the entire show with terrible animation and filler.
Sure but after the conditions the mangaka endured for an weekly release... It's the only way brother
Looking foward to your Aot takes after you finish. I'll say no more.
JJK has a different feel. And it's pretty nice, reminds me a of Bleach a lot. MHA is pretty weak in comparison though
I like older anime but i am not agence newer anime
Old Anime
Old anime
Is what I would say but it’s even
Eh both are good
1:19 I'm watching one piece currently :/... Very slow paced very boring, I almost dropped it in 2 arcs, dont like it too much
Yeah the pacing is trash but I guarantee your gonna love it after 100 episodes I got hooked around 31 but I took a break from it after 84 episodes, then I picked it back up couldn’t get my eyes off it
The story is amazing, I remember people said death note was boring and trash
But it’s actually one of the greatest anime I ever watched too many people have short attention spans and only care about action
Read the Manga. The anime pacing is garbage
Okay, here is the thing: I dropped one piece over 20 years ago because of that.
However last year I watched over 800. The thing I had to do to enjoy the show was aggressively skipping every recap, throwback and filler. The first few episodes where extremely heavy on repeating scenes in flashbacks (maybe to save animation cost and slow the pace down).
Just keep in mind that the show ran for like 25 years on a weekly basis - flashbacks are important to keep the attention of viewers who don't watch every episode and also to give the animation stuff a little less work to do.
Hello
Demon slayer is new gen
This is the worst take I every seen
the dark 3 are overrated none can change my mind
Jjk csm hp are overrated?
Of course Jjk and CSM are a bit overrated
@@Kanyes-alt jjk and csm yes
@@Kanyes-altyeah definitely
Jjk is so confusing
Hell paradise exists
Tf you talkin about fam. DB fell off after cell saga and hasn't picked back up since then. Like DBS right now has to be on of if not the worst piece of media I have wver consumed. It keeps getting worse and worst...😂
Same goes for Naruto and Bleach both series fell off around the end during their war arc and gave us a disappointing end to the series.
One Piece has some lows like Thriller Bark or Punkhazard but from my exp it hasn't gotten bad at all. It keeps getting good with an exception of couple of arcs.
So yeah, the series falling off after a certain time isn't just a new shounen thing. It has been a thing since the old days. Sure I think the new shounens definitely suffer from it a lot more since their drop off is a lot steeper than the old gen. But this fall of thing has happened in both generations...
The anime is definitely improving on The Thousand Year Blood War in Bleach compared to the manga, so I hope the last two cours can keep it up.
Bruh you really listed JoJo in the new school? Nah that's like saying Berserk is new school
As an ANIME, yes. Berserk had an entire series in the 90s. Jojo as an anime is of the new school. As a story itself, of course it’s older.
Shonen isn't a genre it's a demography. Also stop watching anime and read more manga
2:06 I don’t think this is really fair to say for a series that is ongoing. JJK might have a crazy bounce back in the next few chapters and we just wouldn’t know yet. I think it’s unfair to rule out a comeback before the manga even ends.
Hey dude great video but when you started talking about animation I started disagreeing cause my main problem with new anime nowadays is that if the animation isn't flashy or gorgeous or anything special people won't give a shit about it not to mention how old anime animation didn't need to put over exaggerated animation for some fights (looking at jujutsu kaisen) and that's not even mentioning some anime having cgi which isn't inheritly a problem but it's just that it feels off and annoying
Old anime for sure new gen feels to fast and unbalanced.
