Super saiyan God above 1,2 and 4 is ludicrous
so for me it's the same level but the ssjgod has nothing to envy with its shapes it's style changes from the classic shapes with a finer, calmer goku with an aura of fire fuchia hair. at the level of lore se goku it is the divine state of goku and the return of dragon ball Z the form has an incredible development with yamoshi the dragon ball the story of the saiyan and all that with a ritual. the ssj4 is definitely better objectively. but the ssj3 and ssj2 are just superior forms to the ssj agree the moments with his forms were incredible magic with incredible tension. but the ssjgod has one of the best fights in BOG it opens the way to new forms this form is just incredible

@@nightowl5332 SSG is infinitely better than 4. Design is subjective, you either like it or you don’t, but narratively? It’s far superior, has actual build up, connections to the lore, is actually explained, and makes sense. Not to mention it’s symbolic of Goku’s relationships and the power he gets from everyone.
SSJ2 is my fav, so intense, and in a way, it's kind of like ssj1 just mastered to an extreme level. I love that all the fights in ssj2 in dbz had a level of intensity that just hit, and the aesthetics behind the characters all just look better than ssj1 imo
SSJ2 is that iconic transforming look. The best in anime history, the best in general that everyone copied but still can't do it like Dragon Ball.

Kaioken isnt exclusive to saiyans. King/North Kai came up with the technique himself, and only Goku (iffy on Chi-Chi) knew the technique to its fullest. Its a manual boost, and is not by Super Saiyan terms, a "transformation". Its a self-sustained multiplier. That's why you have x2, x3, x4, x10, x20, etc. All it does is boost the user's speed and strength for as long as their stamina allows it to. Kaioken in the Saiyan & Frieza Saga, Super Kaioken in the Otherworld Tournament, SSB Kaioken...they're all boosters on-top of the form the person is already using.

I love how SSJ4 isn't just the direct boost from SSJ3 like how SSJ3 is the next level to SSJ2 and that to SSJ.
To me SSJ3 is the penultimate SSJ form a typical saiyan can achieve, not including that weird thing Black did in Heroes. SSJ4 is a different branch entirely despite its name, its similar to Broly's Ikari form. Its the most saiyan ish type transformation and its design is cool. I also love how it expends less energy than SSJ3 does but is more powerful, showing Ki usage and Saiyan forms aren't just black and white.
Agreed I love that it is called Super Saiyan 4 because that’s the only words to describe it. It take’s everything that made the Saiyans powerful both the great ape form and the super Saiyan and brings it all together

Every time someone says they grew up watching Dragon Ball I feel old I was 23 in 1999 when I started watching Dragon Ball Z
Its not nostalgia for ssj1 to be the best that long ass fight with Freiza that build up to the spirit bomb them thinking they defeated Frieza then the horror in their reactions to him not being dead and him killing Krillin to Gokus rage, its peak.

Beast had some issues as did Orange Piccolo, Orange more for the fact that Shenron shouldn't have nearly enough power to give Piccolo such a boost imo.
Beast just kinda, came out of nowhere, what even *is* it? It kind of falls into the Ssj rage category of "weird hybrid form that's never explained."
Ssj God is great tbh, albeit I don't agree with the power scaling of the form and forms beyond it, but that's another matter. The concept of Ssj blue kinda makes sense if you see Ssj god as a new base form.
Super Saiyan made sense, Toriyama even wrote out exactly how it functions, so it's a lot more then the very simplified version you gave.

Beast Gohan is such a disappointment to me because besides the initial hype behind Gohan getting a new transformation, it fell short. Beast Gohan had such a poor introduction for what its supposed to mean for him.
I really would have liked for his trigger to be more than just Piccolo getting beat up bad yet again, its nostalgia baiting, but not even the good kind. It could have been Piccolo proper being on the verge of death or Goten, Trunks, Krillin and the others getting really hurt too.
And perhaps Gohan could have had a deep retrospective over his losses, his embarrassing performance against Frieza when he tried to invade earth showing that he can't be a reliable protector of earth, how someone always had to jump in to save him, how his friends being beaten up now parallels how he failed to protect them in the past... and what Android 16 told him before he died. Emotionally berate himself enough until he finally gets the memo that people have been trying to beat into him his entire life then boom! Beast Gohan. But instead, he just went Super Saiyan but again
Gohan already had an introspective moment in DBS prior after the RoF arc ended and started training again with him and when Piccolo helped him regain his Ultimate form during the T.O.P. Recruiting mini arc, in the DBS anime. To do so again would be redundant.

The biggest issue with the debut of UI is that its literally shot for shot Goku turning SSJ on Namek. Every great moment in Super is just a nostalgic callback to Z or OG Ball

We can't really put ultra instinct on this list because it's not a saiyan transformation if any other character can achieve it. Same for mystic and beast. When I think of a saiyan transformation, I'm thinking of a transformation that is exclusive to the saiyan and the saiyan only.

Totally disagree. It was super cheap with pretty much no buildup. It was mentioned and suddenly it was there. Nothing emotional happened or anything. SSJ1 and SSJ2 had great reveals and god was just oh there is another form. It was also immediately thrown away
I respect your opinion on SSJG, but personally.. it's my favorite, especially blue
True UI deserves more love. Narratively it fits Goku perfectly. It shows that mastered UI can be taken even further. Not through increases in strength and speed or by copying someone else’s technique, but by utilizing and adapting it in a way that’s tailored to a Goku and Goku alone. Makes me excited to see where toyotaro takes Super after the latest chapter.
I think with the ToP, UI Omen should’ve been the most Goku could achieve at that time and that Perfected/Mastered UI should’ve been introduced in the Moro arc but him not being able to fully utilize it like in the ToP and then the Granolah arc should’ve been him finally figuring out how to properly wield UI rather than introducing True UI which is literally just UI Omen but takes away the concept and essence of UI

I agree except you said UI had a "decent" buildup, which I completely disagree with as it had been foreshadowed since battle of gods and had an amazing introduction. Also I understand blue's ranking, but I disagree that it was a dumb idea. I think that god ki being added to SSJ is a great concept, but was simply introduced WAY too early. Imo, it should have been introduced in a moment such as goku's rage in the black arc, or in another moment later on at least giving ssj god time to breathe.

I feel like I'm the only one that doesn't like Ultra Instinct. The aestetic is meh and correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the concept of UI was supposed to be Super Sayian Blue? Also isn't it suppose to be a technique and not a transformaiton (similar to Kaioken)?

For me, Gohan’s Super Saiyan 2 is de best transformation in the whole franchise. To me, the introduction was so epic and its power in comparison to others was on a whole other level. But I agree with most of your list tho

Dude, UI and UE are not saiyan transformations. They're techniques anyone can learn them.

If all that requires to be a "Saiyan transformation" is to be used by a Saiyan then the video should've included Kaioken as well, since Goku is the only one that has ever used that "transformation".

@@TamsCake Saiyan Transformations aren't transformations a Saiyan has used. It's a form that's only inclusive to Saiyans. So he wouldn't need to change the title to something else and include any types of Ultra Instinct.
For me its the OG Super Sayian transformation as it felt like you were your own torch in your darkest hour and to come that later on, super sayian is something to be mastered, when Goku and Vegeta first transformed their hair looked fluffy and flowed with the wind, but despite its cool appearance it can be improved upon like grade 2 and grade 3, Grade 2 is focusing much more energy into the muscles, it drains energy faster but gives a decent boost, grade 3 does this too but does it too much where the user has significantly larger strength, but is too stiff and cumbersome making you slower and drain energy way faster, which is why Trunks was so tired when he was missing so many hits on Cell. Grade 4 is peak super sayain as they found a way to keep their energy inside and have their bodies adapt to the form basically becoming its natural state. Because the energy isnt being leaked by the aura, the transformation is alot stronger because no energy is being wasted. Vegeta even admitted to the genius method and even tho Vegeta will never admit it, he did master the form along with Trunks which is the only reason they can become super sayian 2. See this type of detail and plot advancement is why its my favorite, Super Sayian God became their base form a little too quickly and Super Sayian Blue is just... Super Sayian with blue hair, it doesnt have those little details.
For me SSj1 and SSj2 are the most iconic transformations, because they were done right.
Being in those do or die situations probably will be the way most anime that work around that sort of theme is used, because its going to work.
Its kind of like booking for wrestling, because your building up to the right moment, before the transformation/power-up is unlocked.
The Rose form...that could be Goku's next form from Blue...possibly if he were to master the Kaioken...according to a friend of mine.
Super Saiyan Blue Evolution isn't just an arc specific form. Sure, it was introduced in the anime's version of the TOP first, but it's in the manga's version of the TOP too. Vegeta also continues to use this form at various points throughout the Moro and Granolah arcs too.

And Beast Gohan IS supposed to be one of the MANY references in that movie to the Cell Saga.

I know your opinions on ssj4 so we'll see how you place it. Personally, it's 1 or 2 for me.
Me personally i would have put Ultra Instinct Sign specifically slightly higher for a reason: it's aesthetic. In my opinion it fixes the biggest problem about the newer transformation: it needs a new hair color to look cool, or an overcomplicated design. The design of UI Sign is very simple, it's still Goku with black hair but with it's edges slightly risen up to make it look different enough from his base form, and those silver eyes that are actually more noticeable in Sign than in MUI (since pretty much everything in Goku is silver in MUI). It's introduction actually makes more sense in the manga, but the anime had WAY better climax and anticipation because everyone thought Goku had died for good.
I think with SSJ4 it should be a Broly only form if they ever make it canon. The entire concept of SSJ4 was controlling the great ape form. Broly wrath form is the same idea. So maybe they can make an arc where Broly learns to control his mindless anger (like they showed him kinda doing in DB superhero) then turning into SSJ4. They don’t even have to call it Super Saiyan 4, i just want the design again. This would also go with the idea of everyone getting their own form. Goku UI, Vegeta UE, Gohan Beast, Broly SSJ4 etc etc
Here's my reason why I'd personally put Ultra Instinct sign in top 5.
It was sprinkled throughout the entire series, good examples would be Goku in the 23rd world martial arts tournament, Goku vs Nappa, Goku vs Recoome, Jeice and Burter, and even foreshadowed in SSJ3 Goku vs Beerus.
All of Goku's teachers have either indirectly or directly taught him the path of Ultra Instinct.
Super Saiyan 3 is such a good transformation, since it was a final bastion of hope with flaws which is limited time but with insane power !
Having SSB Evolution and Rage above SS3 is goofy. Obviously it's your list, but if we're talking purely about narrative reasoning, any Super transformation barring UI and MAYBE Ego is at the bottom. Rage and SSB Evo specifically were the anime writers writing themselves into a corner and needing to give a character a power-up + wanting to sell toys, the entire reason why Blue is so bleh to begin with. I agree with Perfected Blue's placement tho.
While I don’t agree with the whole list I have to say, FINALLY someone who understands Super Sayian Red/God I’m not the only one who loves that form.
I wish Akira named the RED form Sayian God, and then the BLUE form could’ve been called Super Sayian God.

SSJ 4 is officially canon since january 2024. Also Akira Toriyama always stated that GT was canon, even tho he himself was not part of it's creation. Dragonball Z was never supposed to have a Sequel but GT had the ending that Toriyama loved.
I know lots of people do not like it but GT is canon, it plays after Super and this means Supersayan 4 is the strongest transformation.
A long debate finally found it's closure.
Super Saiyan 2 is sooo underutilized I was glad when it got some love when Goku used that against Goku Black

God and True UI are probably my two favorite forms.
I would put any of the UI transformations above top 10. I think the build up since Dragon Ball Z battle of gods till the ToP was amazing. Also I think the SSR should be higher on the list, since it defeated Zamasu, the aura and even the transformation looked nice but the buildup for the form wasnt bad. And the iconic SSJ should be number 1 on the list, the buildup to it was amazing. It its usage till the newest movie "Dragon Ball Super Hero" but also it was very amazing to see the introduction of the form from the start against freeza.

Actually, I strongly agree with you.
I love SSJ and SSJ2 because the context and the meaning behind them. Also they're a natural progression. SSJ2 is just the og SSJ at its maximum expression. To me the only other transformation that makes sense it's the SSJ4, because it's related to the saiyan tail and the Oozaru form (the original saiyan transformation). The design could be better (maybe like beast form with a tail) but the story behind it makes sense to me. That beign said my faves are:
1. SSJ
2. SSJ2
3. SSJ4
4. Oozaru

If there was anyway Super Saiyan 4 becomes canon, I would like to think it would be through Broly. Broly's innate power and potential makes me believe that he would harness the power, it would make much more sense for him to get it than Goku and Vegeta since the two have Ultra Instinct and Ego respectively, giving Broly SSJ Blue wouldn't be a good idea imo especially since it's been sidelined now that Goku and Vegeta have their Ultra forms and Gohan has Beast. Plus it's a well deserved power up considering Broly is probably gonna be apart of the main Saiyan group in future Dragon Ball Chapters/Episodes and since Broly is able to tap into his Great Ape power without transforming, SSJ4's way of transformation could work, just gotta figure out how it would work in the story without feeling like an asspull just to give him something other than Full Power SSJ. What do you all think?

dude i am also a 2000s kid but i still think that there is no other moment hype moment transformation than super saiyan. The ritual thing to achieve super saiyan god i think is really contrived and slow. It does not have that sheer rage and aura and emotion that super saiyan has. Super saiyan is the best transformation moment in any anime period. My second spot being gon's transformation into adult during the chimera ant arc.

Should he consider super kaioken, super saiyan power from the pikkon arc, spirit bomb super saiyan from android 13? It's just not important enough of a form to the plot of the main series considering its movie exclusive. At least ssj4 is important to GT which is an entire series.
Great video. I just have a qucik add-on about Jiren vs MUI. In manga it may be different. But in anime MUI was definitley stronger than Jiren. They even went out of their Way to animate how Jiren was shaking and Goku was completely still when they were pushing each other. So if speaking manga-wise maybe Jiren had more power but in Anime Goku was defo stronger.

SSJ2 is my favorite transformation, next are SSJ3 and SSJ1... those are the best.
New ones have weak plots before transformations. Fans were not prepared for this...
SSJ2 and Gohan Rage is so great... and SSJ2 Vegito and from movie SSJ2 Gogeta... love it!!!!

Those transformations looks as "natural progression" for me.
First yellow hairs and aura with green eyes. Then another level are more pointy hairs and lightnings...
And in the end SSJ3 as next lvl on steroids... great introduction and great fight in anime/movie.
Other transformations are kinda "meh" for me...

To be honest, I would put Super Saiyan at number 1, but Super Saiyan God shocked me as well.
I found it refreshing, much like Gohan's mystic form, a complete U turn from the ever angrier, louder trend.

To me my head canon is that super Saiyan 4 is the real super Saiyan, the reason being each transformation mostly before super relied on being more angered more raged and then the ultimate form of rage where someone cannot control himself was being an ape from the saying so when you can master that when you can control the worst thing when your mind go apeshit which is transforming to Abe and then going to the rage form which is the golden form “super Saiyan” when you control that I think that is really what shows a super Saiyan
When broly masters his power he should look like super saiyan 4
