    I love this razor!!! I have all of gillettes razors and this one is my favorite. It's not super close but close enough. Great video!

    I have leukaemia and am on a very effective targeted medication, but I’m getting one irritating side effect....very slow-to-heal infections around hair follicles, particularly if I’ve nicked the skin because of an ingrown hair. Because I’m very prone to ingrown hairs, particularly on my neck....it’s a bit of a vicious circle right now. I just used this cartridge, after about 4 days of not shaving, and I am VERY impressed. I’m 69 years old and have used a lot of different razors. Most recently Gillette’s fusion, with a power handle. With a 5 blade cartridge I could never decide if the power was a gimmick or a legitimate feature, but I like the fat handle and the weight with a battery installed. The only place the skinguard cartridge didn’t want to shave as closely as I wanted was under my chin, so I turned on the power....with this cartridge it is NOT a gimmick, those stubborn whiskers were gone in a pass. Yes, it probably costs more for a cartridge than it should, I’d obviously prefer the cost to be lower, but no other company did the research and development needed to bring this to market, so I’ll happily pay the price. Judging by how well this first shave went, at the very least, this is going to significantly lessen my problem. And, I still got a very nice shave... I can feel a tiny bit of stubble, if I rub against the grain....to me this is exactly what I need. Thank you, Gillette.

    Another fine shave Champ! Most of us probably hang on the a cartridge because of commercial flight carry on baggage restrictions. When I fly commercial, I toss in my Old Sensor & take along a tube or cream & a small synthetic brush. Easy, light, and the quality cream & brush get me through using the Cartridge. Hope you have a great weekend. Take care, Zac

      Hey Doc! Yeah, I have mostly the handles so haven't bough new cartridges unless it was to try a new release of blades. Since I check my bags I don't sorry usually anymore, but for a quick trip I'd do that too.

    I used Harrys for a year and liked it better than the Mach 3 I had used across 3 decades. I can imagine that the Skin Guard blows both away.

    You brought up a great point about mid-video: Gillette does know how to make a quality blade. Be it housed in a safety razor, a disposable razor, or a multi blade cartridge razor... They know how to make sharp metal.

    Y name it, we ain't dicks... Myself also use up up old Mach3 stock etc., but DE maintains the future, not even SE, nor straights. Finally you've reached Cris's level of lathering, congrats. Am not toofar behind, the water itself obviously plying a substantial role. Cheers fm the Lion City. Enjoy the weekend. Achim+

      Thanks, Achim! Cris is my lather idol! LOL It's definitely the better water and taking more time in my case to build a good lather. I agree about naming the razor that! hahaha That would be clever marketing. You have a great weekend, too!

    Nice shave for a cart day. I have 4-5 cart razors, all Gillette, from years past🙄 Some use batteries to hyper-viberate..Gimmick city..Lol. Using a good pre-shave routine and good quality products, yeah I could see a decent shave for most. Glad it worked out for you champ👍 Enjoy!

    Gave all my remaining carts away to a visiting workman a few months ago, nevertheless, when these new Gillette sensitive razors came out a short time later I just had, out of pure curiosity, to try them. As a hobby, this gets you very inquisitive and investigative, not to mention acquisitive, making you poor in pocket, but you just have to give it a go, kind of thing.

    • @KHLthe2nd
      @KHLthe2nd  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Acquisitive for sure! LOL I still wouldn't go back to a full time cart shave even, but yeah I had to try.

      It glides better and is a closer shave overall; that and the price.

    Do all Gillette cartridge replacement blades fit into the Fusion Skin Guard handle?

    • @KHLthe2nd
      @KHLthe2nd  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just the Fusion style, I believe. I think the Mach3 is a different connector. All Dorco/Dollar Shave Club have a universal connection.

    Carts are great for body manscaping here and there, and detailing around the... uhhh... furniture😉, but for thatchy whiskers like mine... they can't compete with D.E.'s.
    The 5 blade Fusion is still the best cart, for sure, but there's certainly less expensive, more perishable travel options in the safety razor world. My Baili razor only cost me like $10 U.S.... I think Italian Barber even just sells the replacement head for $6. Sourcing blades shouldn't prove difficult when traveling internationally, either. DE blades trend even cheaper in other countries.
