I followed this system about one year ago on my 2004 heritage, it was easier than I thought it would be. ( I'm not very handy.) My bags still look great, and I give them a good rubdown with mink oil about once a year. Thank you for putting this on utube. Praise the Lord Jesus Christ!!!

My saddle bag bar was broken and was about to do this with the metal bar but I would not have used the same technique and the screw hole would have been loose, the reason I was searching for a bag fix was I was afraid I would mess my bags up, after following your video my bags stand up like new. 03 HSTC
I used your method and it works great. What are the #8 washers for? I put them inside the #10 finish washers so wjen tightend down they did not cut into the leather. Was I right?
