Really glad I found your DYI video, Champ. I have an '07 Deluxe, and the other vids did not offer insight if that Left bracket is a CLOSED bracket. You explained how to remove that passenger peg. Really helped, and my Deluxe looks SO MUCH more nostalgic with the exposed whitewalls!
I have a 2016 Softail Heritage FLSTC, took less than 10 minutes to take off the saddlebags. Now I can check the tire pressure and clean the wheel and tire.
unfortunately my saddlebag bolts do not come off that easy, the inside bolt from the inside of the fender turns there is little room to bet a box end up under to hold it and no room on the bolt protruding through the saddle bags to hold while I torque the nut off. May had to drill a small hole through the sleeves just to hold the bolts. My Softail is a 1999 so the bolts have sleeves covering them and the nut turns everything. Good demo thought.

Thx man. Got stuck with the lever coming out of the passenger pegs, but now it's quite clear. Thank you.
I just unbolt the bullet shaped nut connecting lower saddle bag rod and unbolt 2 bolts inside bags and don’t remove the passenger pegs at all.
Same just did it. Do you leave the thick rubber spacer alone it seems solid and not going anywhere
@@masterkilla77 Yes rubber seems to be attached to the part that is mounted with the peg. I just took the nuts off holding lower bag mount on.
That’s the way I do it too

Thanks for the video! About to go outside and do this right now

How do you take out that rubber thing at the footpeg thank you
👍😎
Have you ever taken your passenger backrest off (sissy bar ) ? And how hard was it
I have, it was very simple. You just remove the finder bolts on your finder bracket.
Did you have to use shorter bolts after taking off backrest so they don't hit the tire?
