By the way it’s 4 years and 60000 miles warranty currently and retrospectively and 8 years and 120000 warranty on the drivetrain in the UK market at least.
Really enjoyed watching this review Ben. The Model Y has intrigued me since its launch and I always find myself admiring it when I see one on the road. Could well be my EV choice when the government has finally made a decision it will adhere to! 😂
Yeh! That screen is terrific, but surely it’s a distraction while driving? Would imagine you have got to take your eyes off the road while you are navigating all those different applications, and at motorway speeds? Just saying……
Fantastic, have been waiting for you guys to bring your sensible review style to this. I'm just waiting to see how the solid state batteries development pans out -- (I have a hybrid, but am thinking of going full EV.)
The white and black really works well, and it's the colour you see most of them in. We've seen a few black ones, and the occasional red too. What colour would choose, @outfoxthefox?
Thank you and it is, and I completely get that, as I drive multiple vehicles simultaneously I adapt rather quickly. One thing that pickles me is wipers on left and right stalks on I regularly spray my water jets to let people out 🫨😆 The 3 was the biggest with indicators as buttons, however I warmed to it, unexpectedly I might add.
Glad you enjoyed it. @111msw - we really enjoyed our time with it. Have to say, we totally understand your point about hybrids - it really is an ideal combo. Thank you.
I would rather walk up to a car and press the key than having to faff about getting your phone out, finding the app on your phone then doing what you have to do. Same with adjusting the air con controls whilst you are driving, much easier to turn a button than pressing the screen to find the screen you want then having to change the temperature on that.
I see what you're getting at, but it's surprising how quickly it becomes the norm. I found that as soon as I had paired to the App on my smartphone, it was really quick and easy getting in and out, locking and unlocking, etc...also, you can put Aircon on your favourites on your steering wheel, which I found really handy (pun intended, lol) Thank you, @oorya1780
You don’t need to take your phone out of your pocket. It opens by Bluetooth. It unlocks as you walk up to it & locks when you walk away. Heating etc can be controlled voice control just by pressing the right hand button.
That would be a bargain, and like any vehicle there’s depreciation but it’s way lower than that at least currently. The Maxus T90EV is close to that but not this.
No stalks SOON . No HUD no BSW no demister button no parking sensors no radar........and so much else wrong. From a company going out of business due to lethargy and managerial incompetence. Wakey wakey.
@@PlanetautoUK we went from Model 3 RWD LFP ex Shanghai to BYD Seal Premium RWD loaded , longer range, quieter, better quality.....stalks, buttons for less $. Elon Musk is on borrowed time........ along with Robyn Denholm.
Ok, we like both the Seal and the 3 and competition is healthy, BYD have been around years compared to Tesla, just in a different capacity, we’re driving the new Dolphin in September.
0-60 under 5 seconds on the Long Range. No Apple or Android connectivity. Only Apple Music. Have owned one for 2 years and 20000 miles. Love it. Now has Matrix headlights.
I prefer heavy too. Look forward to the road trip. I am considering the Model Y, your review has been very useful.
Heavy feels more old school, ah excellent - thank you for your kind words

Depends on the model and powertrain too at least here.

Thank you George, yes this is one fully packed SUV, such fun too with the extras, I can really see why many people love these.

It’s the norm to a point nowadays, granted others have clusters the ideal solution is a HUD Spica.

It amazed, I expected pretty good, but this was well beyond - yes Solid state like the Hard Drives will be a game changer, thank you Ambien
I think I could be tempted, even a white one

Planetauto, This is sick!
Thank you, it impressed us 🛞
Planetauto, nice video I really liked it
Thank you for watching, road trip coming soon 😀
Great review. A very impressive car. Stylish. But I’d need time to get used to the absence of knobs, buttons and stalks.

I’ll stick with hybrids for a few more years…..Good vid 👍

worth 50% less in 12 months time

@@PlanetautoUK With the EV's coming out of China (a good thing) we need to watch this space.
One to watch will be Seal U and some of the Omoda models too

There is no HUD… nothing wrong - I don’t think that’s the case is it?
