It felt like well deserved revenge. Edit: I guess it’s good to point out they weren’t criminals except some of them actually were..
Dixon’s character development was phenomenal. He went from the douche bag of a guard who didn’t give a d*mn about the inmates, who saw criminals as people beneath him, now to a Max Guard who actually made a friend who happened to be an inmate (Pennsatucky), to opening up to people and showing a sensitive side. Even in the last episode he helped Suzanne face her fears and Sing a song at Pennsatucky’s memorial.

The time I was most angry at Dixon, was when he broke Taystee's watch, dude she was so happy for the watch and he just smashed it right infront of her I started to feel a little bit of compassion for him when he was friends with Pennsatucky when she escaped and when he and Suzanne were singing at her memorial, it was so friggin sad🥺

Thing is, Maria was guilty of being a leader in the riot...at first mind whereas Gloria definitely wasn't, tried to get the guards to safety (made a deal with MCC directly) and Flores I forget what she did (Locked the doors I think?) but she didn't do much, mostly just went quiet

It was learned that the perpetrators don't think about their action of the crime until afterwards of the incident
