      I mean she kidnapped a kid from a safe location (children's playground, was there with friends and family) then she took him to an unknown location just to lock them both up inside an apartment alone a almost 30 and like 8 year old. She definitely deserved to be locked up😂

And then they told her to go make friends, which they should have known wouldn't end well.

    Uzo is such an incredible actress. She single-handedly turned “Crazy Eyes” into lovable, relatable Suzanne Warren, and ended up being the glue that bound the characters together. I’m so glad she didn’t get the part of Janae. That role would have been such a waste of her amazing talent.

It was a great example of how situations can quickly get out of hand when someone who needs adult supervision is left to their own devices. I’ve never seen this show but the instant she screamed out and started jogging towards him I knew how this would end. I am autistic and I work with kids. I understand some of the excitement I can feel for stuff like lego especially can be more easily understood and related to by kids and I love to talk to them about my special interests and I understand how difficult boundaries can be.
    It is heartbreaking to see someone with a level of developmental disability try to hard in an honest way to make friends and know exactly what she’s doing wrong but she’s so excited and happy to have a friend and spend time with him. She has no bad intentions just poor boundaries. If someone like her caretaker had instructed her better this would have never happened. Poor kid for being scared and confused, but poor woman as well.😢

    This honestly breaks my heart because this same thing almost happened to my mentally challenged uncle. He suffered brain damage at 8 years old that has pretty much left him mentally at that age, and he doesn't seem to understand the concept that kids and adults are not the same. He just wanted to be friends with everyone and once when my older brother was supposed to be watching him, he fell asleep and my uncle had wondered outside and through the neighborhood. And keep in mind this is a man who isn't mentally stable, so when he left the house he didn't realize he needed more than boxer shorts on. And like her, he had no intent to harm the kids he ended up talking to, nor did he have any sexual motive. He was just confused and he was extremely lonely because back then his mom (our grandma) wouldnt let him leave the house at all. We only found him because several officers were sent to the house he was at. When we got there it broke my heart because my uncle was just sobbing in the back of the car because nobody explained to him what was wrong. They just called him sick and a pervert (he doesn't know what that means) and all he knew was now people were angry at him and they tied his hands up and put him in an unfamiliar car. After a while charges were dropped but seeing that reminds me why I take care to socialize him properly now that grandma is dead and he's allowed to see the sun

    Even as a neurodivergent adult, this honestly breaks my heart - I've known adults who've had developmental issues or who are also neurodivergent who can't really handle being around adults, but kids? It's the only group they feel at home with, because kids have big hearts + big imaginations. It hurts to know that there ARE definitely people like Crazy Eyes irl who really don't have that space, and may feel trapped in their bubble like myself to the friends/family they *have* vs the people they want to be around or feel happiest with. Not having that network is a struggle, regardless of if you're neurotypical or not. 🥺💔

  • @c.w.simpsonproductions1230
    @c.w.simpsonproductions1230 ปีที่แล้ว +91

    Seeing this, it makes sense why her sister wont see her. It's likely down to a combination of factors: She already had a complicated relationship with "Crazy Eyes" from their childhood, their parents doted on her more, she was constantly overworked taking care of her, and the first time she took some time off, her sister unwittingly kidnapped a child which led to his death. I suspect there was quite a media circus, and likely lawsuits from the boy's grieving family.
    In tragedies like this, everyone around the killer gets blasted as well, friends, family, associates. She was likely blasted on the news and online, and that type of abuse leaves scars. All of those various factors: the guilt of the boy's death, being blamed by some for it, her name being dragged through the mud, the trial, her parents continuing to support Susan, had to take their toll. It makes sense that she'd want to cut off her sister completely. In her mind, Crazy Eyes likely symbolizes all the misery and suffering in her life.

    With vulnerable adults, it is best to teach them to speak about their disabilities and know their strengths and weaknesses. I know this is just a character but I taught children with disabilities and I am also on the spectrum. I relate to kids and adults the same way and can also run a company board business. I am on the spectrum and many can deny it but I know me and my brain, my levels, my betrayals, my trust factors, my vulnerabilities. • @CthulhuJax

    This video clip is such a powerful example of real life mental health challenges that occur in our society. In this situation, Suzanne is not at fault for her actions because her mental health diagnosis precludes her ability to think logically and intelligibly. In her case, she absolutely should have 24/7 access to a steward of care. Her sister, being her legal guardian, is at fault by nature for not ensuring Suzanne's safety and wellfare, thereby also protecting others from these kinds of incidents. Ideally, Suzanne should never have gone to jail to begin with--she should have been admitted to an inpatient psychiatric facility and her sister should have gone to prison for involuntary manslaughter of a minor.
    This scenario breaks my heart because this truly does represent the world we are living in, where people who need specialized help are ignored and are routinely thrown to the wolves in prison where they are not able to function or cope with their stress, which can easily lead to severe increases in depressive and suicidal thoughts, outbursts of verbal and/or physical aggression and anger, and generally, just further makes them out to be villains when it is simply all due to them being grossly neglected. It is beyond shameful the way our system demonizes mental health patients.
