My husband surprise me and purchase my Mercedes GLE 350 for my retired gift and I love it.
How does it drive after a month?
This doesn’t have adaptive cruise control. It’s part of the add on Driver Assistance Package for about $2k extra.
It’s crazy that it went from $57k to $62k base MSRP just for default 4matic mild hybrid and some minor updates. 👎

I agree the I 4 isn’t enough power, it’s a heavy vehicle.
I have the 2021 gle and never feels under power!!!
not a very helpful review. no one needs you to point out chrome trim, or nonsense. no comment on the vibration, acceleration, or anything else someone would care to know. i'd like my 5 minutes of life back. sorry to be critical but it wasnt useful.
2016-2018 GLE is the BEST by far
Non turbo so no breakdowns and basic maintenance
Also they cone RWD
I own it. It's not enough power. Sure, enough power is available, but it constantly revs high and turbo whine turns into your least favorite radio station. This car is a swing and a miss.
7 reasons why you shouldn`t buy a GLE 350.
- 0-60 , 8 seconds.That`s slower than a Grand Cherokee with an engine older than the hills.
- Some of the worst reliabilty ratings of any SUV out there. Certainly the worst Merc right now
- Performs like a Highlander for more than twice the price. Totally overpriced car.
- Suspension like a Pretzel. This thing handles like a rubber duck.
- If you like to spend 65 K on plastic seats, go right ahead.
- Be prepared to fix the brakes (including rotors) every 25K miles
- You can get an X5 50e for the same money. Double the horsepower and air suspension.
But hey, there`s good news. Here is why you should buy one:
You don`t know the first thing about cars and neither do the folks who think you bought a great SUV. You think Mickey Mouse screens, cartoonish displays and disco lights are the most important thing in a new car. You don`t care about tons of issues with your car cause you got a Merc. And last but not least, you want to drive a Merc but can`t afford a real one. Kind a like the C-Class buyers who think they drive a baby S-Class. It`s nowhere near an S-Class; it`s a joke with as bad an engine as this ridiculous GLE.
Was at the dealer today. 85K for a 6 cyclinder!! NO F'n way. I still have my 2005 ML350 with 140K on. Drives like a tank and does better mileage than this version. Mom was looking at them today and i told her "lets get the hell outta here!" The prices are out of control and i cant wait for the car bubble to pop!
It’s definitely a great car and 0-60 in 8 seconds is not true go do your research 0-60 is like in 6 seconds. X5 50e is also very overpriced and has so many electrical issues the worst x5 GLE 450 is way better plus this car is way more luxurious than a c300 this is a real Mercedes and the seats are full leather. The ride quality is also great. So go get your facts right buddy. And these aren’t the most unreliable merc right now.

Why no comments on suspension? Is AIRMATIC an option for 350? Don’t see many 450s also with this option. Is it not a must for a good smooth ride?

No, and I'm not sure why Mercedes hasn't upgraded their "350" models to the 300hp version of this engine. 255hp in the GLE is just not enough.
Agreed, the vehicle is very heavy and heavier when you have people in the car. That 4 cylinder just won’t cut it.
If you think the 350 is underpowered, then you are not the target for that version. You should buy the V6. There is no point making the V6 if the 4 cylinder is already doing what should be done by the V6. The 350 needs to provide fuel economy, which may be lost if they increase the horsepower. If you need more power than the 350, then look elsewhere.
@@aezean5618None of that makes any sense. There is no V6 and the I4 is NOT doing the job of the I6. Clearly you don’t know a thing about engines and what their differences are.

Is this the same engine as in the new GLC?
I have a question about the wear of the tires. We have a 2021 Mercedes GLE350. Needed to change back tires at 19k miles and the front at 23k miles. We were toled the safety of the brakes kick in before you touch the brakes and this wears the tires a lot faster. Any truth to that? The car came with contential tires now we have Perilies tires both rated for 45k miles. If you have any thoughts or information on our concerns please let us know. Late response but I’ve driven the car 5 ish thousand miles and it just feels like a well handling heavy suv that’s going to wear the tires more than the average sled esp without 4matic. The big summer tires it takes aren’t cheap of course. The brake assistance tire wear explanation sounds like bs, but who knows. 2022 model.
Same shit with this crap too, 62k plus additional 13k for the package.

75K MSRP for a car that comes with 4 cylinder engine and has been stripped down from such basics as adaptive cruise control... Paired with really sketchy MB reliability and no provided maintenance program, it really is no brainer - pass!
They should not make the GLE 350, it accelerates in slow motion
If you want more acceleration you should buy the V6. There are people who are happy with that slow acceleration if that also gives them fuel economy

Yeh, but it’s a dual exhaust. I’m not sure why people hate it so much. Real exhausts get black quick and are a PITA to clean.

I have a 2021 gel 350, got into a collision and now have to buy a new car…biggest issue with this gle350 is the speed. It’s too slow to pick up, hate the auto start and the wired Apple car play. Now looking at a Genesis…

I got my 2024 GLE 350 a little over a week ago here in NJ and i love it! i traded in my 2020 sq5 so its been an adjustment LOL but i love the vehicle very much! nice review

I owned the 2023 GLE350 2 times, and 2024 1 time. This vehicle did not change at all when compared to even the 2020. Still can’t understand how what should be standard isn’t like heated mirrors or lane assist.
I had one of these and really loved it my only complaint is the 2.0L, for a $75k it’s just “enough”.

NPC Karen vehicle, what a rip-off. "German engineering" is an ancienty myth, cheap 2.0 4-cylinder. A small company like Mazda was able to build a 3.3 I6 engine that is more efficient than this...
