honestly its strange how she has never done it in RWBY. She's use it in every other way except bringing the enemy closer to her. She use it to evade attacks, she use it to stop attacks, she use it to pull attacks away. Yet not pull someone towards her.
It looks like an action scene straight out of V2! I'd imagine this is what V3 would've looked like if things went a bit differently. Also always nice to see Jaune not being complete deadweight. Even though he doesn't do much, it shows that he's trying. What makes these animations so special is how a lot of the movements and attacks are directly taken from previous volumes (E.g. Pyrrha's javelin neck spin, Weiss' piercing charge, Blake's 3-hit aerial combo). It really solidifies a character's fighting style by seeing them have preferred moves and it pays homage to the original choreographers.
I swear when Monty passed (may he RIP), his animation power got passed down to those two. They're so good and should be the one carrying on RWBY's legacy...

Always good to see some actual Pyrrha content that isn’t emotional gut punches like RT’s been giving us. Plus this fight looked really impressive, a far cry from what’s been in the show lately. I can already tell I'm gonna be rewatching this a lot! I really love the creativity! Especially with that finishing move at the end! You can really tell that Weiss and Pyrrha are strategizing, trying to outsmart each other! The camera angles are so well done, especially taking the split second to catch the reaction of a character! Ughh! So well done! So happy to see Pyrrha fight againband Weiss not just return to her old fighting style, but expand on it with new moves and tactics! I always loved that in the early volumes, you got a real sense that huntsmen and huntresses were masters of their martial arts, honed after literal years of practice into their own unique fighting styles and weapons! It just makes sense that fights would be fast, although brief, when you have 2 martial arts experts facing each other! I still believe modern tv shows and movies interrupt fights with too much talking, but I digress... This is amazing!!!
Man I fucking loved that. You've really nailed pyrrhas fighting style. The choreography was really creative and I think it'd fit seamlessly into the show. And I think you did a great job with jaune, strikes the right balance of inexpirence and competence. You've earned a sub, can't wait to see more
It feels like such a long road. I was 10 years old when Monty Oum fundamentally altered the way I think creatively. He installed in myself, and very likely a few of us, such optimism! That’s what I’m glad to see hasn’t gone. The fight scene is excellent, doubtlessly. The choreography and the camera work are great. That’s not what impresses me about this, even though it is impressive! It’s exactly as optimistic as it should be. I don’t sense tired replication for sake of nostoligia, or a copy cat clawing at its cage. It’s just perfectly optimistic. Monty Oum didn’t create that optimism, he spread it. It makes me proud of every individual who holds that optimism in their minds and hearts when they make this kind of art. To any still reading, seeing as you likely agree with what I’ve been saying so far: Congragulations for keeping your artwork steely. Hold in your heart resolve and optimism, and we will all meet each other at that pinnacle!
Pyrrha vs Weiss is honestly a fight I wish we could've seen back in Volume1 and it would've narratively made sense; Weiss looked up to Pyrrha and wanted to surpass her while Pyrrha disliked Weiss for how she looked down on others, Jaune in particular. I wish we could see Pyrrha and Weiss interact now, because I know Pyrrha would definitely like her given how much she has grown, and the two would probably have become good friends.

Oh my god it’s like Original Rwby was given to someone that cares and was elevated to the next level. It feels like Montie’s but everything about it from tactics to choreography is purely yours. You’ve mastered it, it’s your very own Rwby style. Using Weiss’s gliffs against her by chaining it with Phyrass polarity and using her shield like a magnetic anchor to increase her forward momentum was a stroke of genius, and the way weiss used her failed attack to adapt and use a gravity gliff to reposition behind her, I can’t tell what each character is going to do next because the flow and rhythm are so expertly crafted and each character is actually fighting in a way that is distinct to them, and incorporates their styles, weapons and powers in creative ways, it’s just, AAAAH I can’t WAIT FOR MORE ACTION STUFF FROM YOU, you are amazing!!!

Nailed it. One thing that post-Monty RWBY animators should have done is literally copy and paste some of the moves Monty has already animated. There's a decent amount of individual moves for each character and they should have focused on those while learning how to string them differently for each situation/fight. Who knows? Maybe they could have learned how to animate like Monty that way too. And I personally think they shouldn't be afraid of "reusing" a character's moves. It's called a fighting style. In martial arts, you practice the specific moves hundreds or thousands of times. Then you try to learn how to apply them and string them together. Kinda like how you don't have to keep innovating new moves when the O.G. creator gave you a few dozen moves already. But yeah, I digress. Awesome job! I can't wait for the full OVA.

That was amazing. You nailed the way the characters (Pyrrha, Blake and Weiss) are supposed to fight beautifully. It's honestly pretty sad how you're able to run rings around the people in charge of the actual show in this regard. I can't wait to see what the full OVA will bring us if this is just a taste.

That was amazing. You nailed the way the characters (Pyrrha, Blake and Weiss) are supposed to fight beautifully. It's honestly pretty sad how you're able to run rings around the people in charge of the actual show in this regard.
