The one thing I found cool about Crescent Rose is that it towers over Ruby no matter what, and at least in the first trailer it seems like she's using the weight of this weapon bigger than her to gain an advantage. And throughout this entire animation I felt as if I could FEEL Ruby's hits and how much power there was because of the momentum and weight. I imagine stuff like that a lot with my OC's and how they fight as I'm writing a scene so to see this makes me feel really excited and geek out lmao
You literally never stop improving. This is genuinely some of the most underrated 3D animated work I’ve ever seen. Love the fact that you stuck true to Monty’s and Shane’s animation styles too. The fast pace action and exaggerated movements still haven’t aged a dime to this day. Keep it up, you’ve done a great job!

@@AKMotions I think it's because certain animations I'm used to seeing have facial expressions and hair movement and all that extra stuff but I know for most 3d animators that takes more time and if you're doing a fight seeing that's already a big enough task for you to do because you got to do the position of the character, you got to put in the choreography so trying to add in extra touches like hair movements facial expressions that's going to take a whole lot more time to do especially with how long the video is. But like I said I am super glad I didn't just turn away because this is pure gold, plus I'm a sucker for some good Scythe choreography and that's already hard to find so the fact that you did this animation with Ruby oh God I can't thank you enough for showing your talent to everyone 😆😆😆😆😆😆

I actually did find a ruby model that has facial expressions LITERALLY a day after uploading this. I was pretty angry but hey if I ever want to do another ruby animation.
This is fantastic, and the first video(edit: oh, you're the Adam/Pyrrha fight guy!) I've seen by you! I guess I was kind of skeptical at first, but then a little ways in, you're focusing on her footwork, and there's such fine detail to minute movements mid-fight! RT should really take you on as a battle consultant, because this was a pleasure to watch.
This is so fluid and amazing! I honestly like how this is done a lot more than even some of the fights Ruby’s had in the actual show, even in Monty Oum’s own time. Not to diss the late Master’s work, it’s still AMAZING, but here I actually feel like I could get a sense of rhythm to Ruby’s movements. There’s a large reliance on high speed movements and impacts in Ruby’s style of fighting early on, but while it looked cool, it lacked a real character to its own that could distinguish Ruby’s style as her own. Of course that’s a consistent problem with a lot of the fighting style’s in the show; Weiss, Yang, Neo, and Ironwood are the exceptions I’d say, where you can tell a lot about them from the way they carry themselves in a fight when they’re in “control” of it so to speak. This achieved that effect for Ruby here, at least for me. It feels like she’s a badass with a scythe that seems nimble and agile, but is quick-witted and precise in a lot of her movements, even when she isn’t necessarily looking at the enemies she’s fighting. There’s so much variation in how she uses Cresent Rose here, I could just gush about it all day, from how she’s legitimately twirling it around her body to make the hits she makes, how she isn’t just SWINGING it to cut, but actually uses it to leverage herself AROUND the Grimm to dodge around, how she still twirls it around as she walks with the sniper rifle mode, and even that little nod to Qrow vs Tyrian, just ugh 😩 👌🏾

Ok! Chill. This is just overwhelmingly good!! The coreography really is just like Monty Oums Animations some parts were different and mixed with your style but for the most part it resembled Monty oums stuff! Really really good animation loved the coreography fight sequences and the Camara movements and angles and overal cuts and how you directed this! Man 10/10 amazing!
Every shot in this animation is fucking fantastic I love seeing your work improve more and more this either this is what you make is honestly amazing I can say this in 1 million other things thousands and thousands of times to but not only do you have skills but you have heart and that’s what’s important keep up the great work
I feek like it shouldn’t have been that easy for her to swing cresent rose when it when it pure rifle mode but i’m not sure. I like how she almost loses her balance here though 1:10 it’s a neat detail
The choreography used for the animation itself is really cool. The actual moves done cleverly use the gun and scythe more than the show recently. But I think people are hyping this up way too much. It’s not bad but it feels a bit hollow to me. Like Ruby’s scythe when animated at times looks too light and that could partially be attributed to sound design. I don’t feel the impact from all of the hit. There’s also multiple distracting shots that show Ruby’s lack of facial expression which takes me out of the action. The lighting and setting as well seem a bit too bright for me. Not the most aesthetically pleasing to look at. I do think overall this is okay though.
I agree with the lighting. This is the best I could get with source Filmmaker on my crappy laptop. As for the facial expressions, the model didn't give anything for the face. She couldn't blink at all. But yes I totally agree, I did the best with what I had. I also began this project a while back when I was still new to animation and finished it here recently. I have watched it over so many times while animating and editing that I don't really know how to look at it as first time watchers would. Because I am so used to it.
