So glad I found your channel. I am 31 years old and I have psoriasis that has spread all over my body. 200 lbs, just started carnivore diet and 1 week in. I am almost 6 months in on this diet and I am 50lbs down! Thank you very much for this video! I am trying to work my way through a weight loss stall right now.
I know I have said this before but I am so thankful for you and your videos. This is a great example why too much information is bad. Why we need to know our limits and what we can and can't do. Knowing I am Abstainer and if I ate fruit or honey it would put me into a binge. I been doing this way of eating for 8 months and I feel so good. I have tried a few Carnivore suggestions and realized nope can't do that even though it is Carnivore. I really think people need to listen to their own bodies. I have not had Sugar in 8 months but I do Drink Zevia once in a while. IF that helps me not eat the sugar that is a total win in my book. I just love your videos and appreciate how real you are. I know your channel isn't about getting likes or more subscribers. You and Chris truly help people and I know this because you helped me to my food freedom!! Thank you so much!!!
Yet I can't figure out why she doesn't have over a million subscribers because her channel is that good and informative. Plus, she and Chris did the work to achieve the weight loss most only dream of. And in so doing, regained their health. They put in the hard work and deserve the compensation. I'm so thankful for them and am in awe of their accomplishments.
I found someone who drinks Zevia! I love that, but will have to give up drinking one most every day. I had stopped drinking it completely for quite awhile and then got back on the train. Once in awhile is a good goal ! 🙌
I also treat dairy as a condiment. Goat cheese has become a favorite, and I do add a couple teaspoons heavy cream to my 2 cups of coffee each morning. Thanks for the great video!
I always appreciate how rationally and practically you explain and endorse carnivore. Thanks for a great video for us to pass along to people interested in getting started. 😀
Laura" your reels on What to order out at all these restaurants. Has helped my husband and I so much!!! I can't thank you enough!! I dont eat out but maybe a couple of times a month. I prefer to cook my own steaks and meats. But my husband is on the road all day. And we watch your videos for insight on what he could order. Also we liked your chicken salad idea! Since this was a extremely hot summer! Today its 70* where we live. Finally fall weather in the Southern United States.
I tried the Carnivore diet for 30 days. Never cheated- went through the "keto flu”, horrible GI issues, did OMAD (b/c I was so sick of meat), got the LMNT electrolytes) & lost 7 pounds. Even kept on it through vacation. Gave up alcohol (even during my vacation in Vegas). I have a history of eating disorders & I just don’t think I can be this restrictive & label foods “good & bad”. But I lasted for a month! I have always been average weight (5’6 & 130 pounds). I need to lose not a lot of weight…about 35 lbs. I’m not sure if I’ll continue. But Laura inspired me to try it!
Laura Spath you are awesome. So many of us are still in the beginning stages and have a lot of weight to lose or a lot of health issues. This is the kind of video that is needed.❤
Labels are so confining. Just doing what works is the best way. So many people are so obsessed with giving every action a name, meanwhile it makes no difference what you call something as long as it makes you happy and is what works for you.
Thank you so much 😊 Just starting carnivore because I was self limiting what I could eat because of digestive issues. Just one weak in and I already am not anticipating any negative effects after eating. Still eating a little fruit and veggie just to not waste food. I did throw away oatmeal 😅. Not eating sugar or gluten already. I saw positive results from that for 6 months. That is what made me consider carnivore. I immediately saw the results of my diet causing negative results in my body. Stopping sugar and gluten has already reduced inflammation. I was not getting enough nutrition, but I am so excited to see where the carnivore lifestyle will lead me. Your channel is the absolute best for me. I can easily see my way forward using your examples.😊
This is why I love your channel! I can relate to you as I started this to lose the weight but as I got deeper into TH-cam carnivores, it started stressing me out and I forgot my why. My favorite lmnt is the raspberry and chocolate! I recently made your loaded chicken salad! So delicious
I bought not just one, but TWO rotisserie chickens planning to eat one half a chicken, then pull the meat off and freeze half of what I pulled and make Laura's chicken salad with the other half. Unbelievably, I ate the initial meal then never followed through and it ended in the trash with no chicken salad. I felt so defeated and like such a failure to be throwing away all that money and all that nutrition! I'm trying again next week, but just doing one chicken. Baby steps. I'm determined to make that deliciousness!
I love the recipe but my favorite way is to make it a loaded egg salad 🤤 it’s so good if you are eating eggs… I don’t use chicken just a bunch of hard boiled eggs. SO STINKING YUMMY!
I have to say a huge "Thank You" for your advice about cheese. I have to use it like a condiment. I love certain cheeses to much. When I don't it holds me up. Thanks fot your videos.
Thanks Laura, I only discovered Carnivore a week ago and have dipped my toe in the water 2 days ago. I have been researching and listening to peoples testimonies trying to get a handle on it all. What you say, and your attitude to it makes a lot of sense, so thanks for that. I have to say the amount of meat you eat scares me, as I said and this requires a 180 deg. mindshift to everything I have been told all my life. I am a chef, I work in a church community cafe and run a food ministry to people in poverty in Australia. I give away fruit and veg that is harvested from supermarkets etc. as well as bread AND meat, so this is all doing my head in at the moment. How is this going to impact my job? Actually I'm 66yo and reach retirement age in 3 months so that's that. I guess I have a bit of praying for wisdom to do. I look forward to watching more of your videos, thanks again.
Laura, I cannot thank you enough for doing these videos and helping me along in my Carnivore Journey! I really appreciate it. I am currently trying to reverse my Type 2 diabetes and infertility naturally with carnivore and Intermittent fasting! Thank you again for all your tips, encouragement and wisdom you share with us!
I have always loved dairy, but going carnivore, I noticed having intestinal issues when having heavy cream, cheese and yoghurt made with cows milk. I do well with dairy products made from goat or sheep milk.😋
Cow's milk is higher in lactose sugar, which is what so many people can't digest, and I think it's higher in inflammatory casein protein as well. I don't get GI upset from cow's milk, but it bloats me if I have too much. When I buy cheese, I try to get sheep or goat milk kinds. That helps.
Thank you for all you share, Laura. Your experience and knowledge really help to figure out what’s going to work and what might not be so helpful, all the while being open rather than restrictive- which is definitely a help to those of us who suffer from sugar & UPF addiction.
Thank you for this. I appreciate the clarification of what constitutes carnivore and the point that it isn't a matter of judgment whether someone eats exclusively animal foods or not, but a matter of being clear about what the diet is and what can be said about it in terms of how those who practice it benefit. It makes me crazy when I hear people who eat predominantly but not exclusively animal foods speak as if they're an authority on "the carnivore diet" and saying things like "you need to add x amount of salt," etc., to succeed with this diet. The fact is that their experience does not reflect a carnivore diet as long as they're including plant foods of any kind. Anyway, thanks for the clarification. It's important for anyone coming into this space to know.
That's true, but it's important to keep in mind that many who come here are actually ketovore and that Laura welcomes them. I happen to be one. I am mostly carnivore, but do eat small amounts of plants a few times a week - onions, garlic, tomatoes/tomato sauce and the occasional red pepper for me. And I do use avocado, olive and coconut oils because I don't use enough for them to affect me and, frankly, it's more cost effective than animal fats. I'd rather spend my money on prime or pasture-raised, organic meats, poultry and eggs than tallow, lard, duck fat, etc. Oh, and I use the occasional natural sweetener. I'm just tired of those who find superiority in slavishly eating only beef, butter, salt and water and who judge others who are a little less strict and are ketovore. I don't feel any more special (more blessed, perhaps) because I'm able to include small amounts of things here and there, as flavoring. I'd just appreciate the same attitude in return. That's actually Laura's message.
@Lucinda_Jackson I'm not talking about superiority. In fact, I specifically said it's not about judgment, but about accuracy and clarity. That's great that you're doing well on a ketovore diet and that Laura is helping you. Make no mistake, though, about your experience equating with the experience of those who choose to include no plant foods in their diet. It doesn't. Nor are you able to say that the plant foods you're eating "don't affect me." Of course they affect you in some way. The effects may not be negative, which is good, but to say they have no effect at all is plainly wrong. Everything we put in our mouths "affects us." Again, I'm not arguing that Laura isn't helping people. What I'm saying is that anyone who purports to be an authority on "the carnivore diet" needs to be practicing it, which, as Laura herself stated in the video, is a diet that excludes all plant foods.
So true everyone has to do what is right for themselves; I know I try to stick to primarily carnivore but if I want I may add a veggie or sometimes I will eat a piece of fruit ( peaches are in season) however I don't do this everyday; it keeps me sane and not restrictive which means it will keep me on track.
I have the EXACT same problem with my digestive issues and my joints to swell. I still have to be careful with cheese though. I get edema from eating cheese. Thank you for confirming I am not the only one.
Thank you! I'm sharing your videos with my brother who went from an average size body 30 years ago to gaining about 250 pounds. Was it the trauma of being held up at gunpoint? Anger at our parents for divorcing? Stress at work? I don't know and he has never told me. So it's not really my business but I don't want to see my brother die from a stroke aor heart attack. I want to see him healthy and feeling good about himself and his life. Thank you!❤

Thank you Laura for this video. I have started & stopped carnivore SO many times ..and I stop b/c I think by eating a few bites of a salad or broccoli that comes with a meal means I failed...I need to STOP beating myself up & just stay on the path. I have Type 2 diabetes so I need this for metabolic reasons and I need to lose 25-30lbs...this video was very encouraging. You are the perfect example of how this can work, without being so strict a person can't follow it. I have & LOVE LMNT packets...I have Keto Chow electolytes..important for me to include those things...I feel better by including them. I'm getting back to carnivore eating now! 🍖🍗🥩🥓🧂🧈🦀🦐

I love the way you explain shit! Plain and simple in logical terms. Thank you! I’m 47 starting my journey to getting my health back through the carnivore way of eating.
Just started carnivore. The only problem I have is mental. So many people - mainly my sister - keep telling me, you are going to have a heart attack from this - I know that’s not true, but I guess it does plant that fear in me somehow. Hopefully all of this information will eliminate that fear. Thanks !
I like your approach of do what works for you! I think people get stuck on labels. Good job on your channel, I love watching you. Especially love watching what you make and eat for the week ❤. Btw, I totally want that freezer you got from costco. Working on my husband to let me buy it. Price is reasonable I think
After listening to the information from several doctors and or testimonials my take is to start at protien in grams equal to your lean body index. There are calculators online. Start with same amount of fat. Get 80+ percent of this from ruminant animals. Beef is most prevalent. So beef, salt, and water. From there add, subtract, switch out meat types, spices, fat to protien ratios till you feel fabulous. I just found out that after eating a bit of lettuce and spinach I feel good but not as good so there you go.
Today is my second day on Carnivore. Lost one pound since yesterday, but I am concerned because I should be eating between 108 - 143 grams of protein a day. Today has been the best day, but I only have only managed 78 gms of protein, less than 1000 calories. I am only tracking this because I know how important it is to get the protein and water in. Currently, I am only eating when I feel hungry. Once I get acclimated to the carnivore eating plan, I want to eat OMAD, fasting 18 hours out of 24, leaving only a six hour eating window. I prefer not to be a grazer and fear this is what I will do if I eat more than OMAD. I did have two meals today. If anyone sees this and has some pointers on how to get more in, please feel free to contact me. Laura, TY so much for all your videos, very informative.
Really clear, necessary pointers. 22 days in. What I’m worried about is my 2 week holiday to Vietnam this month. 1. Not familiar with the food and its preparation, 2. Concerned about having to explain to others. I just don’t want to both others with my healthy eating. And I want to continue this way of eating long term. Thx. 🇦🇺
Just do the best you can. Ask lots of questions about how things are prepared. Sauces in particular - they can tend toward sugary. You may find yourself eating a lot of seafood (which is carnivore) and asking it for it to simply be grilled and served with melted butter. Or do some reading on Vietnamese dishes and order ones you've pre-determined are acceptable to you or find a sauce preparation or two you find acceptable and order plain grilled or baked meats, poultry or seafood and a dish of one of those acceptable sauces on the side. Decide where you might be willing to budge a bit and where you're holding strong. Watch Laura's last video (or was it the one before that?) where she talked at length about "the one non-negotiable thing". For her it's sugar. It's basically sugar for me, too. A small amount in dairy or in a bit of onion, garlic or tomato for flavor is fine for me, but no more than that. And starches = sugars, so I'm very vigilant about those since they don't really serve me in any way and I keep those at pretty much zero. Before you go, figure out what YOUR "non-negotiable thing" is and at least stick to that and you can stay positive even if you can't stay perfectly carnivore.
Doing carnivore for me I found that cutting out gluten would heal my skin issues to a point. I thought on carnivore that I really needed the cheese to get me through this long term but my skin isn't healing as well as it should so I have cut out dairy going to see if that fixes it. I am starting week 8 of carnivore.
This is my first “diet”. I think it’s easy for me as I’ve never obsessed over my diet before or calorie counted or anything. Now I just check carbs and make sure there’s no added sugars lol.
We are human and have to accept imperfections. I’m on a 6 week challenge to myself with Carnivore & walking everyday for at least 30 minutes. I got lazy on Keto and gained some weight plus felt like @#&+. At 64, Grandmother of 10 I will enjoy my 2 craft beers a week on date night with my Mr and don’t feel bad about it one bit. Yes I use dairy (heavy cream in my coffee & cheese on my burgers).
Thank you for this video and giveing us reassurance that its ok if we arnt on this strict carnivore program. Im very interested in trying this way of eating if nit for anything else but to loose weight and juat obtain a better metabolic health.
Wow this makes me interested in trying it. I’m worried bc I’m allergic to eggs and it’s hard to find a replacement for that. As a breakfast or a side or just for a different texture protein. Hmm 🤔
Awesome summary. There is so much dogma on both ends of the spectrum, whether it's Carnivore or Vegan. I have T2D and prostate cancer, so I am sticking to beef, butter, and eggs. I also form uric acid kidney stones, so I watch the bacon. I know, the jury is out on purines, but that is my choice.I am with you on the "eat til your stuffed" camp. Just doesn't work for me to lose weight. I have plenty of fat to burn already! 😂
Alcohol can cause inflammation, could cause gout issues, and prevents/stalls weight loss (even low carb alcohol). But you have to decide if it's worth it or not. This podcase episode we talked more in depth about alcohol. cutting-against-the-grain.buzzsprout.com/1848841/10898740
Thank you for the prompt answer. Cheers I'm 3 pounds from goal and already thinking on what to include to transition to a low carb diet (without the keto treats, those got me in a pickle and why I went carnivore) Love your channel. @@LauraSpath
How often do I eat? When I get hungry, on Carnivore I find I usually go from 14 to 20 hours before getting hungry. Before eating vegies and carbs I would be hungry every couple of hours, so I was eating a lot of snacks! Yes sugar and carbs are killers!

Love meat, always will. I feel better when I do.
Not a carnivore, but working towards it as I'd love to lose weight to get healthier at 63..
Stay well...🙏💜
So glad I found your channel. I am 31 years old and I have psoriasis that has spread all over my body. 200 lbs, just started carnivore diet and 1 week in. I am sick and nauseous and the thought of eating meat makes me sick. I’m trying to push through though! Your videos have been extremely informative thank you!
I have severe psoriasis, the number one thing that helped me and enabled me to come off psoriasis medication was giving up dairy. How’s the carnivore going fro you?
Did you stick with it or have you switched to something else?
@@AprilJoi5 I stuck with it for about 2 months! My psoriasis improved significantly, overall I felt much better. Woke up earlier, much more energy. I’ve fallen off the diet but am planning to start back up on new years.
@@cassinicole537switch it up... You can have bacon, sausages.... Just look at the ingredients. It's "dirty carnivore" but it keeps you from sliding back to Standard American Diet.
You went through what is called “keto/carnivore flu”. It’s very common. Lara addresses it here on her channel…search in the Playlist. Can Google it and find lots of info too.
Thank you Laura!! You’re the best! You’ve helped me lose over 80 pounds since I came across your channel.
I am almost 6 months in on this diet and I am 50lbs down! Thank you very much for this video! I am trying to work my way through a weight loss stall right now.
This is extremely helpful and is exactly what i needed. Thanks for laying this down so simplly,, concisely, and pared down.
Someone please reply...
Are uric acid stones a concern on carnivore??
That is exactly what I hoped it would be, a nice intro or a way to get someone curious about Carnivore and not think we are all crazies! haha
@@LauraSpath I think you did just that!
So why are you trying to lose weight when you’re not overweight…sounds like disordered eating
Thank you for all you do, your help. I just found your channel 2 weeks ago, and i am looking more into doing this. Hugs to you and yours.❤❤
Tomorrow I will start the carnivore diet and motivate myself with your videos. Thank you Laura for your sharing 💜🙏🏻✨
I only eat a small amount of dairy. I have a lot of inflammation. I have just got started on Sept 18th. Down 20 lbs. Thank you for your guidance.
I have come across this diet from time to time and this video honestly helps. Truely. Thank you 😊
Great content, and nice presentation…doesn’t sound scary or off-putting. Sounds very encouraging to me.
Thank you so much 😊
Just starting carnivore because I was self limiting what I could eat because of digestive issues.
I made that today for some quick lunches the next couple days!
I started making that for my go to if I feel like snacking or even for lunch when I eat; that was a great tip.
@@Lucinda_Jackson you could have frozen the other half if you had do not feel like it at the time.
I give away fruit and veg that is harvested from supermarkets etc. as well as bread AND meat,
so this is all doing my head in at the moment. How is this going to impact my job? Actually I'm 66yo and reach retirement age in 3 months so that's that. I guess I have a bit of praying for wisdom to do. I look forward to watching more of your videos, thanks again.
This video was perfect! I love the mind set. Thank you!! I shared it with 3 friends that just started 2 days ago.
That was a great video Laura, this doesn’t need to be complicated thank you for sharing your experience.
Yes yes yes. I have said 4 yrs that fiber messes me up. Finally someone who understands!
I love your videos. You teach so simply and clearly. There’s no confusion in what you are saying. Thank you!
Thank you for a sane sensible approach. It makes it doable
New to your channel. Simple is successful! Like the person said below me, thanks for bringing back to basics!
Great video Laura, knocked it out of the park again! Thank you.
Thank you!❤
Thank you very much. I enjoy fasting so I do it. 😊
WOW I’m in love with you already!!
I just subscribed and am looking forward to more of your advice.
I just started a couple of days ago and need all the help I can get. I think you are my go to person for teaching me.
Best. Video. Ever. Thank you!!!
I ama type 1 diabetic with crohns and I am exploring a carnivore diet and it's helping me a lot. And I used your code for LMNT and my kids and I love it!!
Fantastic video! Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
I love the way you explain shit! Plain and simple in logical terms. Thank you! I’m 47 starting my journey to getting my health back through the carnivore way of eating.
Thanks so much for this clear and simple explanations for the carnivore diet. 😊
Just started carnivore. The only problem I have is mental. So many people - mainly my sister - keep telling me, you are going to have a heart attack from this - I know that’s not true, but I guess it does plant that fear in me somehow. Hopefully all of this information will eliminate that fear. Thanks !
My family said same thing to me!! 😂
I feel wayy now energetic and happier 2 months later 😊
Me too. Great way to day it… mental…. I’ve heard so much from vegetarians & vegans that It’s hard to unlearn
Thank you so much for giving me a jump off point mentally!
That was an excellent video explaining carnivore!!! I’m forwarding this to my stepdad!
Great summary!
Thank you Laura. Great encouragement!
Great presentation!!
I just started drinking LMNT and I love it !!! I hate fake sugars and I’m trying out a carnivore diet right now actually!!
Very sensible. Thank you!
great information, coming from a Vegan Lifestyle, which destroyed my digestion, I appreciate it
Excellent video! You make it real!
What about constipation issues with this diet?
Thank for making things realistic.
Amazing video. A true inspirational mentor
I want to start so this made it easy I’m going to watch it a few more times and a few other videos before starting this seems easier to follow!
Thank you for the video, Laura.
If you haven’t, check out Pluck! It’s freeze dried beef organs and some varieties have spices added into it. :)
You need at least 2 meals to get your protein in. Otherwise you will be underfed.
Thx. 🇦🇺
Girl…go and enjoy an incredible vacation! Just make good choices! Bon voyage 🛫
Loved this. If only people LISTENED
Thank you Laura. Good video.
Thank you for this video!
Just watched your video on food addiction from 4 years ago. Would love to see an update 😊 I'm going through the same cycles at the moment
yes
This is my first “diet”. I think it’s easy for me as I’ve never obsessed over my diet before or calorie counted or anything. Now I just check carbs and make sure there’s no added sugars lol.
Thanks Laura.
Very informative, thank you.
I'm finding it real hard to be consistent, being a hard carb addict, sweet is my addiction 😢😢 I pray I get the strength to go through this.
I'm a Christian 🙏 for you now.
I basically do carnivore but I also eat fruit throughout the day and that also helps me stay full and also didn’t stop me from losing weight
Great video, Laura.
Great video!
I’m allergic to dairy so I have to do without. I am not a moderator on sugar so I have to abstain from it.
Love the banana- Kit Kat example.
That’s an aloe Vera plant that you put on your skin to help heal wounds or burns.
Well put!!!
Your born to teach❤... Thank you! ☺
Laura, How would mushrooms do? know it is a plant but it can a wild plant.
Thank you! Love your channel.❤
Hmm 🤔
Really great common sense video! Thanks!
I am losing lose and easy; 3 to 5 lbs a month; so far 26 lbs in 3 months I'll take that; when it stalls I figure my body is adjusting.
Hi Laura and thank you for the video. Can you address having a glass of wine now and then (once a week or two) what are the dangers) Thanks
Thank you.
