I grew up eating liver and all the parts of the animal. I am from Colombia and all animals are grass feed. Now I live in America and is really expensive and difficult to find grass-fed meat 🥩. Who would imagine that poor countries eat better than wealthy countries.
@Claribed Yes indeed, I left communist Poland in 1981 and would never have imagine that in some twenty years I'd be appreciating the simple, God given food with minimal "interference. I started the carnivore diet just eating ribeye steaks eggs little bit of bacon maybe a little chicken but nothing else just water. 60 days later, I no longer have diabetes I no longer have high blood pressure. We used to scratch our heads when we always saw my wife’s grandpa and grandma eat so much meat. Grandpa worked in the meat industry his whole life bringing home meat for dinner almost every night. We always wondered how healthy that could be. Grandpa lived to be 101 and grandma 98.
ppl of japan eats variety of food. rice, vegies, noodle, fish, meat, you name it. but they are also super healthy with high life expectancy. our anchestor who ate mostly meat also doesnt live long enough by todays standard idk. maybe theres gene involved in this. anyway, meat is super expensive in my country.
My grandmother on my father side had bacon and eggs for breakfast every morning for decades and decades. She lived to be 99. No dementia or any serious illnesses👍🏻
Carnivore for 3 months now after 3 months of keto. Lost 40 pounds and stopped taking all medications (for hypertension and chronic bronchitis and sinusitis). Fatty liver completely healed. 57 and in better shape than when I was 37.
I have had a similar experience. I have been doing carnivore for a little over a year. Went from 7 meds to 2 and my depression and anxiety were gone in about 3 weeks. My type 2 Diabetes is reversed. I lost 45 lbs. I went from being on the brink of another hospitalization to feeling better than i have in 25 years.
@@pmanrise I eat beef and eggs every day. I also eat quite a lot of lamb and pork, including sausage and bacon (after reading labels to insure they don't contain a lot of processing ingredients). Also a lot of cheese, in particular hard cheeses made from raw milk (I live in France). Some fish, in particular canned sardines, mackerel, and wild caught salmon. Some poultry (a whole deep fried or roasted chicken once in awhile is delicious). A little bit of liver (cod or beef or chicken or lamb) occasionally. A favorite weekly meal is a 6 egg omelet with trout eggs and feta cheese. Etcetera!
I went carnivore for 2 weeks. Then I added one vegetable at a time to find which one cause my trigger fingers. The first vegetable was asparagus. Over night my fingers got stuck. Back to carnivore then added back broccoli, then other vegetable. None of these cause problems. Best way for me to find out what was the problem.
I just started my 6th week of carnivore. To get adjusted, I ate cheese and milk the first 3 weeks. For week #4 I quit the dairy and I'm feeling so good now. I've lost 13 lbs. in the first 5 weeks. My morning fasted blood glucose went from 305 to 86 in just 5 weeks. I love carnivore.
It's actually fine to have your dairy. If you can, try to find raw milk/ lightly pasturized non homogenized milk. I haven't noticed any inflammatory response from raw milk made by healthy cows
Good for you! I actually took the challenge and did my first 30 days with pure carnivore. As a "reward" I decided to add cheese and cream during my second 30 days. I don't eat cheese unless I'm wanting "comfort" food and make a cheese cream sauce for my ground beef. I'm in the middle of my 4th 30-day challenge with no plans of doing anything different. It's the little things that make sense in life - how eating so simple can be the answer.
I'm female, 57 years old, eating strict carnivore for 5 years now. Yes, I had all these health improvements you listed. I'll never eat any other way as long as I can afford it. I also improved my low functioning thyroid. I don't take any medication anymore. I used to get colds, the flu twice a year and I haven't gotten sick since changing my diet to eating any kind of meat. I eat what I can afford, eggs, and rarely cheese. Drink only water, although I tried drinking tea a few times but reacted badly to it. Before I changed to carnivore eating, I was keto for 1.5 years, Paleo for 2 years before that and before that I ate a Mediterranean diet. Besides weight loss the biggest thing about eating carnivore for me was the massive improvement of my mental health. That's very pressious to not feel depressed all the time and being crazy moody. That's all gone. Oh and IF comes naturally with eating this way. Changing between 2MAD and OMAD - no problem.
You could be writing my own story about the effects of a carnivore lifestyle. I just turned 70 and I've never felt better..I was keto for two years - a devoted health champion following this channel - a carnivore for the past two months. I add a small orange from time to time for a sweet treat. I have more energy for core fitness and yoga classes 3 days a week, my sleep is vastly improved, and my comfortable eating window is 6 hours. No breakfast because I'm simply not hungry, lunch around 1 or 2 pm, last meal of day by 6 pm. Carnivore is my strategy for now! I'm so glad Dr. Ekberg has created a video on carnivore. He's wonderful, so easy to understand.

Another amazing video. And yes..people who go for carnivore are not regular people, there are people with a lot of experiences in dieting. I, for example, was a vegetarian/vegan for 25 years. I have tried a lot in my life, trust me. From cleansing juices, to all the herbs and powders and enemas. I even had grass salad from my own garden. Yes, grass (there's a sort of grass that "they said it can be eaten"). But, oh boy, my body had suffered a lot. And now nobody can convince me of anything else. When I hear young vegans saying after 2 or 3 years into this crap that you "didn't do it right" it just makes me wanna laugh. Boy oh boy! I didnt do it right? If I didnt do it right after 25 years of searching and researching, what about the rest? Who can do it right? I am into keto+carnivore nowadays. And the more I experience with my new diet, the more I am convinced that meat is the only way.
You know I was trying to become vegetarian but more than a month I couldn't do it. Coming from an Islamic background being a semi vegetarian is encouraged not to waste meat or overeat it, but also fasting is a huge part of this culture (the upcoming Ramadan as an example). I realize that I can't be vegetarian but slowly improved my intake of produce by avoiding unhealthy stuff and trying to eat organic only. After watching people go carnivore diet now I am tempted to try it, but I am still experimenting with fasting so carnivore is certainly something I would like to try. So happy to see that people with your background share these stories which makes me satisfied that I didn't go vegetarian. Thanks for sharing 🤗
I was vegetarian/vegan for about 5 years. I had weight issues, and was always hungry. When I got pregnant, I craved nothing but red meat and radishes...that was then end of that era..😂😂😂 Been keto/carnivore since 2018 and have never felt better.
@@georgehornsby2075 I thought the same... It could be because of eating some random grass types. Some grass aren't edible! Then frequent juice fast and enema is detrimental because it affects gut microbiome.

Liver is fried in good olive oil, seasoned with salt and oregano, while cooking, and fresh lemon juice squeezed over it on the plate!!! Delicious!!! I just did the same with chopped beef liver, and it is also delicious! I started on 100% carnivore only lifestyle about 70 days ago. I’ve lost over 30 lbs even though that wasn’t my goal. My mind is clearer, even though that wasn’t my goal, I have more energy… even though that wasn’t my goal. My digestive system which has ruined my life is giving me no more constipation, gas, or flu-like symptoms… sorry, even though, that wasn’t my goal. All of my food allergies have stopped, my skin has become clear and healthy… (that’s right, not my goal). I have aggressive prostate cancer that has been resistant to multiple surgeries, Chemo, and radiation treatments. It has been a mass with relentless growth in my spine. I told myself I would try carnivore because I heard sugar may be the reason the cancer is so aggressive. (I’ve always been a sugar addict). My oncologist has stopped all treatments because there is nothing there to treat anymore. (In 60 days) all my lab is flawless with the exception of my PSA still being elevated slightly. (So the cancer isn’t completely gone as of yet). THAT was why I tried carnivore. To be proactive and do "Something!” And it seems to be working. I’m not gonna quit anytime soon now. That’s for sure.
Totally agree because the government pharma will make a lot of money when people get sick and will purchase whatever meds recommended but getting sicker.
2 months ago I switched from the SAD (sad Australian diet) which is based on the American one, but with more beer. I am 53, 5'11" and weighed 315 lb naked. Went to a very strickt Keto on 16:8 IM and have over past 4 weeks transitioned to OMAD. I am now phasing out veg and coffee 😭 and plan to go Carnivore by Easter. I am now 265lb in exactly 8 weeks. I have had the odd cheat but nothing major. I have lost 5" in waist dia All of my pants no fall down without a belt. I am doing light to moderate exercise, mostly brisk walking and bike riding for an hour every other day. I work a sedentary job, so getting up and walking about as much as I can. I feel better than I have in 10 years. My blood pressure has dropped from 145/88 to 107/77 Resting heart rate average is 50 bpm, it was 68. I am lucky I didn't have any other medical issues but I have no need to take anti inflammatory medication, as I was for injured shoulder, no medication for 7 weeks now. I have no plans to stop. Goal is to be 190 lb, I have almost hit half way. 🎉
Do it. When I dropped vegetables and fruit my GI system problems finally went away. I thought I loved vegtables but now I realize that nobody really loves them, you are conditioned to like them because they are "healthy". You also don't need fiber to stay regular if you have the right amount of fat on the proper carnivore diet. If you think you love salad try eating it without any dressing. You have to add alot of preparation, spices sauces to make vegetables palatable. Maybe this is telling us something. Plants are full of problematic compounds designed to protect the plant from being eaten. Just try to walk into the wildness, how many edible plants will you find, how may edible animals .... HMMM : )

I ate a pound of organic grass fed ground beef almost exclusively with some pasture raised eggs. I was under eating based on what I see on carnivore now. But in a few months as well as doing a couple prolonged fasts of 36 hours to 72 hours a week. Went from 235 down to 173lbs. I'm 6'4" so that was for me too slim. Started lifting weights after that and got up to 188lbs and was very lean and muscular. I didn't even realize what I was doing was carnivore because I started off just trying to do keto and ended up finding that I liked the beef and eggs and I would also drop some butter in the beef to get the fat up. My skin was never clearer and it really changed my appearance in a huge manner in just about 4 months. I did up my food intake to eating a couple times a day and eventually I went back to a more varied diet. But I learned that the fasting reset my body's weight. I didn't just gain back the weight quickly when I changed my eating to have more carbs. It also gives a lot of confidence when you learn the benefits of eating an elimination type way of eating. I love meat so it's not hard. But if you have an addiction to sugar you have to break that and eating like this can do the job. You just have to be consistent.
@Saul Schitman you idiots are going to have a heart attack or cardiovascular disease, your body needs fiber. The reason you feel better and lose weight is because your cutting out all the sugar and grain and processed foods/seed oils. It’s not rocket science to realise this. It’s an elimination diet and you need to reintroduce vegetables and fruit and leggumes into your diet and slowly cut your meat way down or you should start writing your will. Eat whole foods and you will flourish.
I'm about 2 months into a 3 month carnivore diet, and have, so far, lost 26 pounds, have more energy than I've had since in my 20s, my daily struggle with heartburn is gone, blood pressure has leveled out! I feel great! Best health decision I've ever made.
This is awesome!!! But always remember, it is not a diet, it is a way of eating… if it works great for you you don’t go off it like a diet, keep doing it because it is what works for you! Keep up the great work!!!
@@davidharney9487 It depends on your personal approach and goals. As Ekberg mentions in the video it’s the ultimate elimination *diet*. Personally I approached it as this and always planned to reintroduce certain foods to find out what I’m intolerant to. Diet is by definition is the food someone habitually eats, so “a way of eating”. Arguably “diet” can be subtly different to “a diet” but I guess that’s kinda pedantic.

@@MMAClipper Hello mate. Carnivore is a form of a ketogenic diet, so your results may vary. It's definitely worth your while to try it however. Aim for high protein over high fat. My fat intake varies and I adjust it as per energy requirements and body composition goals. Its usually anywhere around 90g - 150g. Good luck!
Dr. Ekberg, You have elegantly summarized the great Vegan - Low Carb - Keto - Carnivore religious war in one incredible video. There will never be a “one size fits all” diet because we are all on a spectrum of benefit vs. sensitivity for all foods particularly certain plants. Your advice for including some food variety was excellent. The role of fiber in the diet with the gut micro biome is complex and just starting to be unraveled. We need to be respectful of others views so we can benefit ourselves.

Humans are hypercarnivores. Some humans have a tolerance to dairy and the like but it doesn't change our species specific diet, being obligate Carnivores. I don't know of anyone who's truly meat intolerant, and aversion is only temporary. As long as you wean yourself onto it properly, anyone should be able to go on carnivore.
@@infini_ryu9461IMO I don't think we are hyper carnivores. What we know about early humans' diet may be just a theory. We do know that humans have eaten a variety of food for thousands of years (meat, grains, and vegetables are all mentioned in the Bible). People in various regions that are Blue Zones (where people consistently live a long time) eat a variety of food. They are not all the same diet, either, so more factors are at play. In fact, the video "Living to be 100--The Blue Zones" (or some title like that--can't remember the name exactly) is worth a watch. Just my opinion. Since we now have many people going carnivore, we will know more about health benefits eventually.
Great video (again)!! I laughed out loud when you mentioned how people say red meat will raise your Triglycerides. On a SAD my Triglycerides were over 200 (268 at one point). Id slowly drop carbs it we’ll help you avoid electrolyte imbalances aka keto flu . I also couldn’t eat the 2lbs of meat a day that it takes to get your potassium so I drank electrolytes and put salt in water
I have been listening to you for a month or two and followed your advice. I was 134kg pre diabetic with sleep apnea, inflamed joints and a rampant GERD problem. I started in December 2021 by cutting carbs and then in January I started fasting from 20:00 until 11:00 every day. I did a comprehensive blood test with my GP this week and My blood sugar came down to 5.5, my cholesterol is down to 3.2 my weight is down to 124kg. My inflamed joints is no longer a problem and I am of the GERD treatment. You changed my life sir and you have my thanks.
I just got diagnosed with pre-diabetic & have fibromyalgia. I've tried doing whole food plant base & it's decreased symptoms & inflammation but it's stil there. Now I'm gonna try Keto with a little meat & mostly veggies see how that works & eliminating processed foods, sweets. If a combination doesn't work, I'll try carnivore. I'm at a 5.9 for pre-diabetic. Hoping in 3-4 months when I retest I get out of pre-diabetic range. Also gonna include intermittent fasting 16:8 and at times 20:4 or 17-19hrs of fasting & wating two meals a dat..If you don't mind sharing what steps you take and diet you did other than cutting carbs? My body seems to be sensitive to a lot of things even the so called healthy things.
@@TheLakeShow First off, get used to checking for Net Carbs in all your foods. You'll first want to get down to under 50 grams per day, then hopefully under 20. Don't go too fast or you may suffer a bit; keto flu. By all means, increase fat consumption; animal fat, coconut oil, avocados. This is a must and will lower your appetite, a bonus. You'll know you're in keto when fat starts to look appetizing. You'll fail if you don't bring up your fat intake because you'll end up driving down your metabolism defeating the entire process. I found the following channels to be very helpful: Thomas DeLauer, Dr. Berg, Dr. Ekberg, Beat Diabetes (very helpful because they blood test for glucose after consuming various foods, so you can see how it will likely affect you), Low Carb Down Under. Getting off all processed foods will make a huge difference. Other than tons of avocados and some berries in very small quantity, fruits should go off your list of acceptable foods. Just too high in sugar/carbs/fructose. If you're in keto long enough, likely you'll see a rise in LDL cholesterol, which should not be alarming; again see the Low Carb Down Under channel for the science. And if you're on glucose lowering medication or insulin sensitivity increasing meds, like say metformin, work closely with your doctor because not consuming carbs while on these medications can be dangerous. If all of that is going well and you want to explore further, you could learn more about oxalates in foods. But for most people, it seems wheat, soy and sugar (=carbs) whether in organic or processed foods are the biggest issues. For me, it's dairy because I easily overdue my carb allowance which leads to inflammation. Almost forgot, seed oils. These things are dangerous and could take a bit to get your head around. Print out a list of cooking oils which breaks them down by poly, mono and saturated fats. The best are coconut, ghee, butter, palm, lard and tallow; possibly some olive. Costco olive oils for one have been tested and been shown to be real, not so for many in the stores. For sure, get rid of canola. Best of luck!
When I was young. I was a carnivore and didn't know it. I ate all the meat on my plate but wouldn't eat the veggies. I remember sitting at the table crying because my parents wouldn't let me leave until I ate some veggies. I was the healthiest kid around. Never sick and never missed a day of school. It wasn't until I was on my own that I began to eat junk/processed food. That my health turned bad. I lost my thyroid and gallbladder due to this unhealthy diet. I'm now 80% carnivore and 20% keto. I am feeling so much better and a lot of my issues have gone away.
Pathetic me watches a dozen diff TH-cams every single day on optimum health. No other channel deserves 2 Million subscribers as much as this very one channel !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you Christina Quach. I really appreciate your feedback and so glad that you liked it. The purpose of my channel is to explain things better than other channels and help people understand the principles. I spend so much time on it because when we get "the why" and the mechanism we become empowered for life . Comments like yours makes it all worthwhile. 😄
Love that this video is NOT an all or nothing. One size does not fit all also applies to diets. One thing i believe in is that "How you feel" especially short term does not tell your health story at all: I have been in great shape, toned, muscular, athletic, low bmi, etc. found that ive been living with a 100% blocked LAD and 90% blocked RCA .... likely for 10 yrs+ per all my Cardioligists/Surgeons. Just had heart surgery to unblock two arteries at Cedar Sinai. I was in gym and felt pretty good prior to surgery. Angina promoted my action. This is why i will not go on an extreme diet, such as Vegan or Carnivore. Im living proof you can look and feel great yet be headed for disaster. Had i gotten the right heart tests (beyond treadmill stress/CAC/blood work, etc), i would have caught my problem earlier. Bottom line; Medical industry is not yet proactive....how you feel now is not an indication of issues building inside you. Be proactive and know what tests can assist you in knowing your true health.
I've been ketovore for almost a year and it has greatly helped with hashimoto, hypothyroidism, joint pain, persistent asthma, mood, weight loss, more energy, and brain fog. Loved this video, so informative. Thank you!
@@D18G23 I first took synthroid and it did nothing then took natural thyroid and it helped but was discontinued. Now I take ancestral brand desiccated thyroid/liver capsules and feel better. I also do OMAD and do 3-6 day water fasts that help.
@@JB-th6ej thanks for sharing! I am considering trying AS Thyroid supplement but wanted to try carnivore 1st because I see so many people say it helped them!
I’ve been carnivore for 4 years. Psoriasis gone, high blood pressure gone, pre diabetes gone, joint pain gone, insomnia gone, anxiety gone, brain fog gone, Libido through the roof, sustained energy all day long. lost 50 pounds as a result of eating this way 🥩🥚 I have a 6 pack again at 53

I have been on a total meat/dairy/egg diet for over four years now. I have lost 7 kilos at the same time as putting on considerable muscle mass, my immune system is the strongest it has ever been, my eyesight has improved as has my concentration and I now have more energy and feel better. I cut out all plant foods as I was constantly getting ill/fatigued and having digestion issues. At first we thought it might be gluten intolerance, but after cutting out all gluten for a month there was no change. Then we thought it might be a food allergy etc, but could find nothing. Then our family doctor suggested it might be the carbs in my diet, so he suggested I cut out all carbs for a month. The easiest way to do this was to go on a strict carnivore diet with only certain dairy foods allowed (heavy cream etc, no milk etc). The first week I felt very tired with no energy and motivation, but I was told this was because my body was being forced to burn fat and protein for fuel instead of carbs... after another week or so I started to feel good, then great. I am now in the best shape I have ever been in, jog 12kph on my treadmill for 20 minutes straight (not bad for 49), am stronger and fitter than I have been in years and no longer feel sluggish and get the dull headaches I did when I was on a omnivorous diet. Oh, and my cholesterol count is very good, where as I had borderline high cholesterol before. I now understand why many say the human body is not meant to process carbs and out modern high carb diets are the cause of many of the health issues we now have, such as the HUGE explosion in diabetes. I highly recommend giving the carnivore diet a go for a month and seeing for yourself. I know that I won't be sticking any type of plant food in my mouth ever again.
I have been carnivore for 1.5 years and it changed my life! I lost 50 lbs and my A1c is 5.5. All my other numbers are normal! I don’t have cravings and hunger every two hours . I am so much more flexible and able to exercise! This works for me👍🤩😎
I have been binging on videos about the carnivore diet for the last few days as I am very interested in giving it a try. I have to say that Dr. Ekberg’s video is the most comprehensive and detailed that answered all the remaining questions and concerns I have. Thanks so much for this video. I feel much better informed.
FINALLY! Someone explained all of these aspects together in a way that makes sense and thus easy to understand. I am now a fan. :) I love your balanced explanation.
That is a fair comment. Most people eating a modern western or even a vegetarian diet would see results from going paleo, low carb or keto ie cutting out processed foods, most carbs and upping their protein intake a bit. Carnivore is just another step on that progression, and may only be required for people with particularly complicated or chronic health issues. Having said that, I am trying it (3 days so far lol) because after 15 years, low carb paleo is no longer working following menopause and I have seen a steady weight creep, plus skin issues as I age. I think its worth a try as a reset, and how far I take it will depend on the results.
63% of the species that roam the earth are carnivores. We humans are the only living thing that is conscious and knows we’re alive. If animals eat meat on autopilot what’s wrong with us doing it while we’re in control. Also I do understand not wanting to cause pain to animals. I am big on energy, but I also believe in energy transfer. I heard this quote the other day “you are what you eat, so don’t be nuts, be a beast”. Lol
Yes, true but a lot of plants can have defenses in them that people can unknowingly have issues with which cease when all are removed. I feel it’s a great diet to try for those. Those without autoimmune etc may get away with keto/carnivore combo
I’m so glad you’ve finally covered this. I have letterally tried EVERY way of eating. From Atkins to the zone diet. From paleo to whole 30 from calorie counting to the fitness apps from cutting out meat to counting macros from measuring everything to weight watchers absolutely everything! NOTHING and I mean NOTHING has come even close to the profound affect that the carnivore diet has has on me for all my health issues and weight issues. It has been the holy grail for me after years of trying to find the right diet. In fact I do even better on just ruminate meat. It’s incredible and you can feel it after just 3 days. Then everyday after that it gets better and better.
Only 2 weeks carnivore and the benefits are incredible... This is now my lifestyle, carnivore... intermittent fasting... light exercise... Wish I had known about this years ago...
I wish I had learned this many years ago, I have suffered trying all kinds of diets but as soon I I heard of a carnivore way of eating I knew it was for me. One month in and down 11lbs. They don’t tell women enough that men lose in a downward motion but women are up and down which can be discouraging but our bodies deal with hormones fluctuating, so don’t get discouraged. I’ve always gravitated to meat but was brainwashed into thinking I had to eat all food groups to be healthy…hogwash!
Thank you for another worthwhile video. Congrats on reaching 2M. I think the main reason your channel has grown so quickly is your level of professionalism. Your viewers know they can trust your information because you are not trying to sell something.
I'm sad these days to see that many of the experts i listened to at the beginning of my keto journey back in March 2020 are now selling books and supplements, or promoting courses that make big promises of health and weight loss. I no longer follow their channels. Dr. Ekberg remains one of the few experts i recommend over and over again to friends and family who have witnessed my own weight loss and improved health and want to know more about a keto lifestyle.
I'm a super troll on youtube comments, but this guy's presentations are the BEST educational content you will find anywhere, including top notch universities (where I went). He gives a very balanced and whole look at the particular realm of knowledge, along with great analysis & explanation of relatively complex processes.
I have been Carnivore for ten years now. I found it through trial and error. I had found a way to lower my Rheumatoid Factor which is a measure of inflammation with no surprise Rheumatoid arthritis. I had at one point had a rheumatoid factor in the 8000 range while it is supposed to be less than 7. lol yes I had it bad. So after trying many different things I found each thing I eliminated my rheumatoid factor went either up or down. But one day I tried going dairy free for a month and boom that lowered my RF all the way down to 1034. So I knew I was on the right track after six months of dairy free, my RD failed to drop any further. So Then I tried high Vitamin D3 doses, along with vitamin K2 as MK7. Long story short, Don't forget the vitamin K2 as MK7. I did this along with eating carnivore and zero plants. The last time I looked my RD was at 138 and that was years ago. I have completely eliminated my Rheumatoid arthritis and as a Bonus my Diabetes went away as well as my M.S. greatly improved. I have discussed all this with my medical team people I have assembled over the years who are pro diet. Any Person who disagreed with my own treatment plans was quickly dropped until a suitable replacement was found. Anyway the team is astounded at my recovery thus far. No more wheel chairs, no more blackouts from Reactive Hypoglycemia, My weight is down 100 pounds I feel like a 20 year old again but I'm actually 63. Well I'm not 100% yet, But I have high hopes because I spent 50 years destroying my body through poor diet and I guess it is going to take more than ten to fix it but I so very happy to have even gotten this far !
When I started the carnivore diet I was concerned about fiber because I thought it was necessary, but to my surprise I even go easier, almost every day. It never takes more than 48 hrs before I use the toilet. I know many people believe we are herbivores but I’m very happy with that, that keeps meat prices affordable. This is one of my favorite channels on TH-cam. Thanks for all the information.
The animals ate the plants for you so there must be fibre in the meat. It's just that thy digested it for you and we get the purified fibre in the meat.
@@SuperLuckao Wrong. No fiber in meat. And the human digestive is made for lots of fiber. That why those that eat a lot of meat are so sickly. Especially seniors.
@@SuperLuckao Of course: because humans don't have a meat eaters digestive system. Even real carnivores eat high fiber plants to clean themselves out ,and there short digestive system is made for meat. Think what that meat is doing to you. YUK!!!!
Dr. Eckberg....the best video I've seen from you !!!!! I do exactly as you presented. I'm 70 yrs old and 2x a year I do strictly carnivore for 30-60 days for health benefits, and recharging!! I've followed you for 4 years...❤❤❤
I love this very balanced approach to the subject. He is so right when he says that people become entrenched in one side or the other eg vegan v carnivore. He is the wisest of all diet advocates that I have heard
Just what I needed to know. Excellent compact overview. I haven't made a decision yet, but this video goes a long way making an INFORMED decision! - Thanks!
I love that he is not just explaining pure nutrition, but also goes on different kind of things for overall understanding. Also I really like the simple way of explaining
Thank you Dr Ekberg for another fantastic and professional presentation as usual. I’ve been going keto. Animal fat, meat and green vegetables mosty’” with intermittent fasting and it’s been great. It has helped me with many issues. Some of the issues it has improved are 1. Keep blood sugar and insulin levels low since I am type 2 diabetic. 2. Absolutely cured some inflammation issues. Such as a frozen shoulder and a toothache. 3. Improved ADHD symptoms 4. Stopped me from being hangry also know as hungry and angry. And reducers mood swings. 5. Caused me to lose weight. Lost 35’ish pounds When I first heard of people who only eat meat and that it is a healthy thing. I thought it was not a good idea and very dangerous. Two men that I knew in the past claimed that they only eat meat but they both died relatively young. One in his mid 40’s and one in his early 50’s. In retrospect I realize now that they also drank alcohol , smoked cigarettes and used cocaine on a daily basis. I was a cab driver in Los Angeles those days and these men were my regular clients and even became my friends over time. RIP Ahmed and Milton 🙏… At least now due to videos like this I can see that it isn’t as dangerous as I thought at 1st. I certainly am convinced by now that carbs are the bad guy and fat.. excluding phony vegetable oils and seed oils are the good guy. And that fasting can save your life. My saying now is.,, “ the best thing that a diabetic should eat is nothing at all” And “fasting is cheap.. it costs nothing at all, but diabetes is expensive. It can cost you a pair of eyes., a couple of kidneys and a leg or two!!” 🙂
Try to keep it up for 3 months and you will never want to go back. I have done 3 months almost pure Carnivore and when I eat wheat or other 'wrong' types of nutrition my body just reacts badly: bloating, cramps and flatulency. Just give yourself enough time to change your taste pallet.
This is one of the best carnivore videos I have seen. Thank you so much. I personally healed from a stage 3 colon cancer, eating nothing but ribeyes and liver for a few months. After that when I started feeling better, I added some vegetable juices. In four months, without surgery, the cancer was gone.
I’m so grateful for this info! I’ve struggled with leaky gut, insomnia, heart palpitations, achey joints, food intolerance, hair loss, brain fog, skin issues, etc etc. doctors just give me drugs. A naturopath told me about carnivore. I’m trying it. And I can’t wait to see what happens! So grateful for this education, and people’s feedback! I was vegan for years. Those people who judge, and insult, are likely suffering with no willpower to change. Change is hard! But worth it.
Following your channel helped me start intermittent fasting, start exercising (walking again) postpartum, understand my diet more, lose 13.2kg in less than 2 months (45days, started on the 27th of December 2022) and now I am on a high fat moderate protein diet and doing well. Have just 4kg to shed to reach my goal, I set a goal of June 2023 but I am on target to hit my goal before the end of March 2023. Massive thanks x
Thank You @bridgetdooshimastone2692 so much for showing your appreciation and supporting the channel, and for helping me get the message of health out to the world. 🙏 🏆 😄
I did everyone of these steps ... I have been prediabetic since my 20's ... very insulin resistant ... I am now 64 yrs old ... I kept gaining weight and could not maintain any weight loss. I am now what one considers a Ketovore ... mostly meat and dairy with a low carb vegetable and on occasion I will have berries and almond crackers, on holiday LIly's chocolate I have lost 24 lbs and kept it off and slowly continue to lose more. I weighted 168 lbs last Nov. I am now at 144 lbs. I eat twice a day and sometimes I fast 1 or 3 days once a month.
I actually like liver. I haven't had it lately. I'm great at cooking it. I cooked it once a week for my family starting when I was about 8 years old. FirstI prepped the onions and lightly sauteed them. My father loved it.
I got sick a year and a half ago and went carnivore for seven month. Now I do ketavore. This saved my life, lost 60+ pounds in seven months. Had several health issues that this has helped or ended for me. I didn’t try to lose weight at all just get better from being soooo sick.
Thank you, Dr. Sten! I’m New to carnivore and so far in the past 2 weeks going 3, I feel so much better! My gut is no longer bloated and my knuckles and joints stopped hurting. I guess I’ll do elimination process after 3 months and see which other food causes me the issues before. I love this carnivore diet!
Type 1 diabetic. Carnivore/keto is a lifesaver. Been LCHF for over a year. Rotate between 0-50 carbs depending on if I'm focused on weight loss or muscle building. Reduced my insulin use by 75% a1c under 6. Wish more drs would promote this. But then how would make money.
I agree read with most of what you said. However, I think most doctors do care about their patients, they just haven't been educated along with everyone else. They were trained in the system emphasizing diagnose and prescribed medication. It's part of our cultural landscape. Everyone wants a quick fix with no effort. To expand the knowledge, we need to educate others with kindness.
@@HarvardBob Agree 100%, medical dogma is very difficult to break. I have had professional and extensive contact with doctors and have found they tend to hold onto their entrenched beliefs, backed up by peer pressure from medically trained colleagues. That's very difficult to penetrate, there would need to be a whole raft of peer reviewed RCT's in order turn decades of beliefs around. I don't see that coming anytime soon, there's no money in prevention for big pharma.
I’m also a type 1 diabetic. I eat carnivore/ Keto. Routinely under 15 g carbs per day & only inject 1-2 units of insulin per meal. It’s magical. I also use regular insulin which better matches the glucose rise of protein. I cringe when I hear of people injecting 5- 10 units humalog for a meal! I’ll never go back to that.
My digestion has never been better since starting carnivore. I’m one of those people who ended up here after trying lots of other diets out (paleo, keto). Health problems that got better on paleo/keto completely resolved with carnivore, including digestion. ESPECIALLY digestion. Finally! Hallelujah!!
I'm one of those people that is extremely sensitive to everything. I'm going to do 30 days carnivore and come back and report to you guys my results. And doctor you are my go-to channel. Thank you
I'm so happy you finally made this video. No one explains things the way you do. I'm 7 months carnivore (after 7 months of keto, and before that months of no gluten or seed oils) and plan to go a full year before reintroducing vegetables. I'm doing great so far, but still have some healing to do.
same here i was keto for 12 months and now carnivore for the last 2 months almost...it has helped my weight stall and body feeling more tuned...also will wait to introduce veggies to a later date...keep up the carni stuff, its powerful medicine for our bodys.
i was doing keto 12 months and now is on carnivore and never felt better...body is puryfing stuff gradually out of the system...im on meat only now and also will not eat veggies for one year to see how my body will respond to it...so far had diarreha but i think it is just transtition marks...so iam keep going and have lost weight 3 kg in one month..so iam happy and feel energetic...stable, and strong...thanks for a great video!!
Outstanding and informative, you pretty much described my health journey. I am now a very heathy 67 year old carnivore but I tell all who ask me that they need to find what works for them. My advice to all is to start by removing anything that comes in a box, bag or can from their diet, cut out all fructose and all seed oils and go from there.
After C19, I lost 20 lbs. That was 12/21. Since then, about another 20 lbs came off. Gave up essentially all processed food, high carb/sugar sources. Now it's a mix of meat (beef, fish, pork, chicken), eggs, leafy greens (salads), broccolli, califlower, avocado, olives, asparagus. Cutback coffee to about 4 cups a day (1/4 of what it was with a love affair with cookies), have it with some macademia nuts, walnuts and a bit of dark chocolate (if you're going to have a vice) . Eat twice a day, sometimes once. Every other month a planned fast for two days. Just starting an exercise routine by walking, later it will be a bit of running and weight training, nothing hardcare. At 185 lbs. now and looking to stabilize around 170 lbs, give or take. Will trade a bit more muscle for fat (still have enough of that) and target is end of June. So, adding more meat and less carbs has seemingly been beneficial. Also use Coconut oil and Olive oil and stay away from seed oils. Mid Jan exam showed 98 D level and 5.2 for pre diabetes and that was after my December purge. Dr office called me stating I could stop taking Vitamin D supplements (middle of a cold, dark winter mind you) and didn't mention the pre diabetes as a concern. Followup July so I'll see what she says. Father died a diabetic, cancer among other health issues at 72 on a high carb, processed diet (pasta was his love) and morbidly obese for years. I am not following the same path if I can help it. While a tragedy for many, C19 changed my eating pattern. No longer ate a dinner with beer at 10pm at night, after work. Cut out alcohol too, perhaps a glass of wine on occasion/holiday. Non caffeinated tea at night, a bit of water throughout the day, seems to be working. Sleep has become better. Now need to introduce an exercise regimen. Nearing 60, it was about time. I would encourage everyone start at a much earlier age but it works wonders for anyone willing to change sans some health issue out of the ordinary. During C19, watched almost nothing but health vids so a shout out to the following among others: Dr. Sten Ekberg Shawn Baker MD Dr Eric Berg High Intensity Health Gundry Thomas DeLauer KenDBerryMD ...there are others, keep up the good work and thank you for your efforts. They haven't gone unnoticed.
I too had covid in December and ended up in hospital for a couple days with pneumonia. Though 60+, I thought I was in good shape to take it. I wasn't over weight, ate healthy, walked and took vitamins. After coming out of hospital, I was 10 lbs. down and craving steak when my taste and smell finally returned a few days later. I didn't like steak before. I also drank too much coffee one day after it tasted good again and my heart went crazy. No caffeine since. Been taking a pile of vitamins also. I feel fully healed at this point. My conclusions are I got a high dose of virus from kids showing no symptoms while playing a game in their bedroom. Though taking vitamins, they weren't enough for the deficiencies I likely had ( D, Iron & ?). I'm likely insulin resistant and have been all along. I'm doing keto now, have kept the 10 lbs. off and feel great.
@@kelleemerson9510 There you go. Good you survived. While it lasted up to 2 weeks, it was likely compounded by me detoxifying. I say this because I dropped 20 lbs in spite of still eating (better) and drinking water. Didn't lose my taste but it changed. A can of soup tasted like a salty, fish rotted ocean water. Gave up everything processed...except dark chocolate. C19 was still a miserble experience. A co-worker didn't survive.
There are a few different youtube health channels I watch but if there is ever a conflict I go with what Dr. Eckberg says. The undershirts I wear wich used to fit well now look like a womans nightgown in how much room there is in them now. Plus I was just about blind or soon to be dead. I truly owe you my life doc. Thank you so much.
I have done keto on and off for about 5 years. Carnivore was the first time I was like, this is it, I'm no longer on a diet, this is how I'm supposed to eat. It was like I met my dietary soulmate.
I have exactly the same. Did keto on and off for years. 2 or 3 month max on keto in that period. Felt better and had benefits. Now doing carnivore for a month and its a big difference. Sometimes little tired but overal it feels like im doing my body a good thing for some reason. No bloating or intestense problems. Do take a cheat meal once a week which has some carbs with it. I feel like i can handle the carbs better also after doing carnivore.
i did keto for about 16 months to lose weight. I'm off of it now for a little over a week and I'll probably be back on it in another week or 2 just because i feel better on it.
You covered so much in this video today! 👍 Thank you for teaching how to use our food as our medicine Dr.E Coming up on 5 years alternating between keto and carnivore, with Varied periods of OMAD and IF myself. It's cured a lot of ills, the worst of which was IBS. Totally gone. Keep spreading the word Doc!
I did the elimination diet (meat only) and sometimes I still got ill and sometimes I didn't until I discovered it was the chemicals in and on the meat, I went full organic meat and never had a problem afterwards.
yeah Grass feed / finished organic beef is a must. No soybean/corn raised chicken or fish. If you can find wild fish and pasture raised chicken cool, but thats really hard atleast here.
Thank you again for making this so clear. You have confirmed what I suspected..."it is the ultimate elimination diet". I agree that variety is good. For me, I am down to OMAD or 2MAD, low carb, high fat with lots of homegrown greens. My health is the best it's ever been and I am 67. Weight has never been a problem for me. It's been mood, clarity, depression, anger etc. I was diagnosed with Graves when I was in my late 30's. I refused radioactive iodine therapy and I am so glad I did. I have had thyroid pain off and on and I can tell when it's high or low. All of these symptoms are all but gone now. We are adding back more meat as an experiment to see if that completely eliminates them. I do have low stomach acid so that's been a problem my entire life and it went undiagnosed until 5 years ago by an intuitive naturopath. I haven't seen a conventional doctor for anything but stitches in over 15 years. It's people like you that have helped me heal. I am so very grateful!
I was also diagnosed with Graves disease but since I was 16 (I'm 25 now). My endo recommended me to have RAI ablation for my thyroid but I was not entirely convinced since it'll only treat the symptoms, not the root cause. Your case literally inspired me to change my diet & try other natural paths before getting on something so permanent. Thank you ❤
@@christinevu7399 Thank you for your kind comment. I am also now working on the Eat Right 4 Your Type - which is a blood-type diet. My belief is that my body is always healing even when it feels like it's not. Our bodies are programmed to keep us alive and well and sometimes a load of toxins or whatever is just too much so we think we are 'sick' when really, we are still healing. Ref: Dr. Cassie Huckaby - Grit Health If I had my life over, I would not let them take anything out of me or alter anything. I would not go to allopathic doctors unless I had a literal emergency that required stitches or something. It's natural all the way for me now. I wish you the best Christine. Keep learning, keep searching. Every day there is more info out there. Just remember that those who push a one size fits all type of eating have not taken into account our various idiosyncracies and blood types. Those things matter. Man I am excited to try this. I have a lot of these symtoms like IBS, bloating, high sentitivity ect for years. I tried so many things and got to keto/IF eventually which really helped but I still had a gut feeling that something was missing and I instinctively knew I would probably be going carnivore but was to stubborn to listen. Ofcourse I havn't fully tried it yet but I think this is really going to help. I am so tired of all the feelings of depression ect. For so many years...thank you for making a clear and easy to understand video about this. I might report back if I don't forget haha. Good luck to everyone and their diets. @@xp1296 That is nice of you. I am not a doc- though none really helped me. I would connect your friend with a certified nutritionist. Personally (not advise), I consumed a lot of Omega-3 fatty acids so Walnuts, Wild (only) Salmon, EVOO, Avocado (daily), etc. I drank a lot of water and got good rest. I also FAST 18 hrs. ever few days (not daily.) This begins a needed cleansing process in the brain called AUTOPHAGY. It's the body's way to clean out damaged cells in order to regenerate newer ones. With all of that, I was patient- gave it time. I continued to work out as best I could and rested when I needed to. It is a process. I am still not 100%, years later but I am much, much better than I was. Some of my initial symptoms were quite debilitating. Today I can function pretty well and work out with almost no restrictions. Have your friend check his/her vision too- as well as the relative size of each pupil. My vision was effected. Cheers!
Nothing but a positive experience. I have done this diet a couple times and every time has been a positive experience. This is now my 3rd attempt on carnivore and sticking it through. This time I have limited carbs and lost over ten pounds my first month. I am never hungry and feel amazing.
I have been on keto for 2 years now, and I feel great overall! I noticed myself I am going more towards to be a carnivore lately, it is just more satisfying. Altho I still eat a veggies, nuts and seeds but now less.. protein is very important for me as I am pretty active and do a lot of resistance training. So far I am feeling great . Wish me luck people! 😀😂😝
What was particularly good about this video is Dr. Ekberg mentioned how people will try all sorts of diets and see which one is the best for them. Don't keep persisting with a diet if it is giving you negative results. Some vegetarians do that and eventually give it up when they realise it is not working out for them.

@Claribed Yes indeed, I left communist Poland in 1981 and would never have imagine that in some twenty years I'd be appreciating the simple, God given food with minimal "interference. Its all grass fed. Beef tasted better when they were fattened up with grain in my opinion. The hippies got older and the grass fed scam developed..
It's easy in Arizona, and cheaper to buy a beef from a rancher than to get it at the store.
Find your local farmer/rancher that does it right with regenerative rotational grazing, and buy a whole/half a cow they are much lees expensive this way and your supporting good people, not big corporations.

@Moni I concur, have noticed that my mental state is always better after having some meat.
You could be writing my own story about the effects of a carnivore lifestyle. I just turned 70 and I've never felt better..I was keto for two years - a devoted health champion following this channel - a carnivore for the past two months. No breakfast because I'm simply not hungry, lunch around 1 or 2 pm, last meal of day by 6 pm. Carnivore is my strategy for now! I'm so glad Dr. Ekberg has created a video on carnivore. That’s for sure.

mate.. coffee. hardcore
HMMM : )
Congratulations!!🎉🎉🎉
I've been a RN for 25years and Dr. Ekberg is amazing. I really appreciate all his videos. I also watch Dr. Ken Berry and Dr. Eric Berg, I feel so grateful to find this channel too. Thank you.

Eric berg is horrible. (He's not an actual Dr. Btw) tells you to shove down huge amounts of raw vegetables which is not healthy)
@@CheeseStickzZ yes exactly, Berg is a Scientology cult member and a fake doctor, no joke. His own son has spoken publicly about the abuse and crazy lifestyle of the scientology cult.
Great comment Michael, thank you very much.
you werent keto unless you were eating 200 g plus grams fat, less than 100 g protein a day
@Saul Schitman you idiots are going to have a heart attack or cardiovascular disease, your body needs fiber.
Grass fed meat is a scam. Still bad. You’re still supporting the cruelty of murdering animals.
@@mbortega how do you define keto? i’ve no idea!
Yeah, I'm cutting out all inflammatory foods for 90 days. After that I may or may not reintroduce a few veggies.

@@MMAClipper Hello mate. Carnivore is a form of a ketogenic diet, so your results may vary. It's definitely worth your while to try it however.
Aim for high protein over high fat. I think perhaps that would be your best approach. For me personally I aim for 200g of protein per day without fail (I weigh 71kg).

I stopped eating troughs of salads, fiber, and 💩 never been better. I didn't realize that you were not supposed to see undigested food in one's 💩. Now, I don't
You can feed your gut with butyrate from butter and dairy instead of fiber that destroys your gut lining
Thank you LUIGI!! What a dorky look.
Since I have added meat in my diet almost regularly, I don’t have sugar craving at all. I am so glad
Great video (again)!!
I laughed out loud when you mentioned how people say red meat will raise your Triglycerides. On a SAD my Triglycerides were over 200 (268 at one point). On an all animal based diet my Triglycerides are in the 80's/low 90's.
I have been animal based for over 4 years and it's been life changing/saving for me! I eat red meat every day and I'm not nutrient deficient.
Thank you for spreading the benefits of this lifestyle!

It wasn't until I was on my own that I began to eat junk/processed food. That my health turned bad. I lost my thyroid and gallbladder due to this unhealthy diet. I'm now 80% carnivore and 20% keto.

To me it's seems like a lot of people start feeling better because they stop eating bread and sugar.
True. Omitting refined grains, sugars, and oils will improve health. But that doesn't mean humans should eat animal carcasses. Humans are frugivores.
Lol
Yup……bread , sugar, rice , potatoes , pasta , tortillas
Yes, true but a lot of plants can have defenses in them that people can unknowingly have issues with which cease when all are removed. I feel it’s a great diet to try for those. Those without autoimmune etc may get away with keto/carnivore combo
I’m so glad you’ve finally covered this. I have letterally tried EVERY way of eating. From Atkins to the zone diet. From paleo to whole 30 from calorie counting to the fitness apps from cutting out meat to counting macros from measuring everything to weight watchers absolutely everything! I wish I had learned this many years ago, I have suffered trying all kinds of diets but as soon I I heard of a carnivore way of eating I knew it was for me. One month in and down 11lbs.

This is one of my favorite channels on TH-cam. Thanks for all the information.

Hi, how did you deal with the sugar/carb part...? Was it hard? Thanks
Some of the issues it has improved are
1. Keep blood sugar and insulin levels low since I am type 2 diabetic.
2. Absolutely cured some inflammation issues. Such as a frozen shoulder and a toothache.
3. Improved ADHD symptoms
4. Stopped me from being hangry also know as hungry and angry. And reducers mood swings.
5. Caused me to lose weight. Lost 35’ish pounds
When I first heard of people who only eat meat and that it is a healthy thing. My saying now is.,, “ the best thing that a diabetic should eat is nothing at all”
And “fasting is cheap.. it costs nothing at all, but diabetes is expensive. It can cost you a pair of eyes., a couple of kidneys and a leg or two!!” 🙂
I tried this for a month about 2 years ago. Never felt better in my life, and lost quite alot of weight, but i really missed other food types.
Nothing tastes as good as feeling good feels.
Nothing wrong with eating the other type of foods every once in a awhile.

Have just 4kg to shed to reach my goal, I set a goal of June 2023 but I am on target to hit my goal before the end of March 2023. Massive thanks x

Great ! 🙂
congrats! keep it up.
I actually like liver. I haven't had it lately. I'm great at cooking it. I cooked it once a week for my family starting when I was about 8 years old. FirstI prepped the onions and lightly sauteed them. My father loved it.
Probably the most nutrient dense food out there? I can eat it as a garlic, onion påte
Veal liver has a very soft taste compared to regular beef liver.
Sounds great!
Tripe is good too if cooked correctly.

New to carnivore and so far in the past 2 weeks going 3, I feel so much better! My gut is no longer bloated and my knuckles and joints stopped hurting. I guess I’ll do elimination process after 3 months and see which other food causes me the issues before. I love this carnivore diet!
do you have any updates? looking to start it soon
@@rachelsmit9156: same her type 1.. But I have developed CKD and I was told low to no protein and of course, carbohydrates is a issue...

Olive oil is ok?

During C19, watched almost nothing but health vids so a shout out to the following among others:
Dr. Sten Ekberg
Shawn Baker MD
Dr Eric Berg
High Intensity Health
Gundry
Thomas DeLauer
KenDBerryMD
...there are others, keep up the good work and thank you for your efforts.
Dr. Ken Berry
Autumn Bates
Good list, except for Gundry.
@@lawdogwales5921 Ok, least but he gave some decent info on an interview. With him, it's a business.

I'm off of it now for a little over a week and I'll probably be back on it in another week or 2 just because i feel better on it.
i've been doing carnivore past couple weeks and your video popped up. you are VERY intelligent!!!! Good job! thank you!
Agreed … I felt my absolute best eating from an Amish farm . It changed my entire life !
yeah Grass feed / finished organic beef is a must. No soybean/corn raised chicken or fish. If you can find wild fish and pasture raised chicken cool, but thats really hard atleast here.
@CookieMonster_ Basically yes. Grass fed beef for example has a far more favorable omega 3 to 6 ratio than grain fed.
@@halfnattyboomer354I think you mean grass or grain finished. They're all on grass until the last few weeks.
@@julieellis6793 Indeed, being specific is important, thanks for pointing that out.
May you live many more years to come!
I have discovered that I am A+ blood which is only 3% of the population and we have specific things to pay attention to. I am sure this will take me further on my health journey. My belief is that my body is always healing even when it feels like it's not. What was particularly good about this video is Dr. Ekberg mentioned how people will try all sorts of diets and see which one is the best for them. Don't keep persisting with a diet if it is giving you negative results. Some vegetarians do that and eventually give it up when they realise it is not working out for them.
