So realistically if you mean to level up by killing the RT, it will cost you about 1m10s from setting up the fight to being able to set it up again. The real answer for endgame is just entering 3rd district from 1st district with encounter plus on and spamming thundaga on the 3 waves of heartless that spawn there, back to 1st district, rinse and repeat. That’s how platinum trophy speedrunners grind level 100 every time
i like to use to the 12 pots right outside the castle doors in agrabah, where that one FM heartless is. i just walk into all the pots and the one that doesn’t move is the heartless. so smack all the other pots while avoiding that one. you get 124 exp every time. as long as you don’t attack the pot with the heartless inside, you can just run to Aladdin’s house, then go back to the room and the pots will be reset. if not, i just go back and save, check once more, and if they still haven’t respawned then i just soft reset. this works really well for me and you can do it at any time, although some other strategies probably are more worth it later on.
@@nickmcsleighten you can also combine the black fungi strat with the pots. You look at the castle if pots are spawned and destroy them if yes, otherwise you go to the back fungi spawn and look if they spawned. Yes! I was low-key subconsciously doing your strat for level grinding for end game stuff! But for the other two, I'll definitely get onto that. Thanks! 💙
In the ps2 version I used Wakka to level up. In that one, if you stay far enough away, he’ll not be hit when you guard/hit his blitz ball. It’ll always go over his head. In the final mix they seem to have shortened his throw distance cause he’s now hit more. It’s only 1 exp per guard/hit, but can be done for ever. Later, around level 5, I done what you suggested. Mixing in the 3 vs 1 or fighting Riku to get potions. Beat him in race on day 2 and stock up pretty stones. Nowadays I’ll rather get money via batting rather then selling stuff. (Cause you also get exp)
Nice nice. I usually set Wakka nearby a tree. Lock ONTO the tree itself, and repeatedly hit the ball to the tree so he's literally feeding me EXP (Y-You know when I hit the ball)
@@LovelessPrince Right where the coconuts are. Above the save point and on the pathway to Riku. Theres a barrel and a tree. I move Wakka to a specific place, repeatedly hit the tree or barrel with the ball. Boom. New stat.
I've been streaming this game in my own time and honestly I'm dreading trying to get all the materials and whatnot I need to clear everything out. This information for the level grind is super useful, thank you for putting it all in one place
honestly, i'd do your traverse town loop solely because all the others are basically equal in exp gains AND its the only loop that wouldn't get me rage quitting from the the monotony
@@MatthewCenance cause Aladdin can defeat the Black Fungus much easier than Donald who will likely just run into their poison and immediately be defeated
In my experience in later game exp grind, i found the best spot to be right next to Neverland: Cabin. With Encounter Plus, three Dark Balls and 3 Pirates. The benifit is that theres a save point right in the other room. So you can in and out every few seconds. When i timed it, i believed it matched Rock Titan bullying, but its been a long while since ive done the math.
@@NexGenUtuber yes! thank you for reminding me lol - With all 4 EXP Accessories equipped, the 3 Pirates and 3 Darkballs drop a total of 900 exp per fight (aka per loop) - Timer started when I entered the room from the Cabin save point - I had 15 MP so i was one shotting all enemies - In 2 minutes, or 120 seconds, I did 10 loops - 900 exp per loop x 10 loops = 9000 exp total / 120 seconds = 75 exp per second compared to the Rock Titans 204 (technically 114 with menuing) On the other hand, I did get like 6 Power Gems in those 2 minutes so it is good for that!
On my first run I got most of the trophies on final mix. Decided to get the few remaining. Im going for the 15 hr trophy and the no equipment changing on beginner. Made good time getting to final boss so I needed this to know the best way to grind. Ironically the gizmo shop was how i grinded in my first run before i decided to clear all the coliseum challenges and realized the rock titan was working.
@nickmcsleighten oh no no no. I was talking about my first run on final mix. I didn't get even close to that timing on that run. But that was probably more to do with just not even bothering with the coliseum until much later in the run. Still have to play through it again on proud to get all the trophies. BTW I'll be checking out your channel a lot since I plan to go for all the trophies in every game. Given how it's been going so far I'm in for a lot of worlds of hurt.

@@ShibitoHeart appreciate it! I’m actually in the same boat as you and sometimes find video guides annoying because they wont get to the point, so I aimed to be sure mine do lol
Just the video I was looking for. I also love how he mentions the Traverse town loop, as I implemented that one a long time ago when I played on PS2 and found it to be effective, entertaining, and generated lots of items and munni, which is nice... Vs Rock Titan which is repetitious and gives you nothing besides exp.
Basically, yeah 😁 the top three answer path (dawn) will give you the fastest level speed before LV 40, then the bottom three answer path (dusk) will become the fastest at LV 41 and after
As someone who is currently doing the 100 level in Destiny Island challenge... Thank you! I thought beating Riku was the fastest way to level up. Now I know it is not but I'm so pleased reading on the screen "Sora 99 - Riku 0". Also I'm doing it in kh2 with Roxas and I don't know how to make it faster. Any idea?😅
Thank god, don't waste your time with Riku lol And yes! So my current strategy is on Day 3, pick the path of the mystic as we get Experience Boost the soonest at Level 7 Then on Day 6, get taken down to red blinking health and beat all the Nobodies that are in Twilight Town (don't go on to the Old Mansion), I loop Back Alley > Station Heights > Tram Common > Sandlot > repeat
Lol so your exp loop is the one i figured out for myself back in 2003. Good thing btw is, that its less boring due to more maps so your brain has at least a little bit of stuff to process. Btw the last room before the final battle was a very good spot to lvl up aswell.
Easily the best area to grind is the coliseum. Once you’ve beaten each cup all three times you can just choose the boss fight and if you equip all the EXP up items you can you’ll get around 7200 EXP per rock Titan, about 3000 EXP for Hercules and about that amount from Leon/Yuffie as well.
If youre going for 100%, use the hotel hall (2nd district take the first left) so you can farm Defenders and then Wizards because of their rare weapon drops.
I did the parry strategy until level 35, then went onto leave Destiny Islands. Note that with the shield/sword route, you will get tech boost early on. So, you'll get about 80 EXP a minute instead of 40 EXP.
I know it's later but it just came out on pc so I got the Master Intergrum edition. Decided to play them all. MASSIVE NOTE , on the Aladdin strategy I found out by trial u don't need to soft reset or exit re enter to get purple black fungus to appear. Just walk in, kill them, leave, go up pole to Aladdin house, save, do it all over again. Repeat.
I found a great farming spot in the hotel. If you just move between the red/green hotel rooms, casting thundaga as you enter the room then going back to the other room, you can average 112 EPS. With the MP orbs the mobs drop and goofys MP recovery ability you dont run out of MP doing this.
@@DReignos let me give it a quick test! I love that you put the eps 😁 now i can compare and contrast Update: I gave it a test and I will provide all my data for you: - my Sora was at 15 MP, had 4 EXP Boosting accessories equipped, Encounter Plus on, and 8 Ethers - the Green Room has 3 Search Ghosts (providing 240 exp each, 720 total) - the Red Room has 3 Darkballs (providing 120 exp each, 360 total) - I started my timer entering from the Red Room into the Green Room - I ran it for 2 minutes (120 seconds) and achieved 16 loops with a loop being clear Green then Red Room - 1 loop provides 1080 exp multipled by my 16 loops is 17280 exp - 17280 exp divided by 120 seconds = 144 exp per second Hot damn, good find DReignos!! At the speed I went, its actually faster than another commenters route which was 124 eps by grinding the gizmo shop
8:15 The magic attacks appear to work on the same damage formula as the physical attacks. But, instead of using the strength stat as a base, magic attacks use the base power of the spell plus how much MP (or double the MP for some spells) the caster has as a base. So Firaga hits the damage cap at 19 MP due to 19 + 36 (spell base power) = 55. Blizzaga would hit it at 21 MP due to 21 + 34 = 55 but no character can reach that much MP without cheating. Thundaga hits it at 15 MP because (15x2) + 26 = 56, one point above the strength damage cap. Aeroga isn't strong enough to hit the cap below 24 MP, and Gravity spells work on a different system of damage and thus don't count.
@@nickmcsleighten The statement is a conclusion I got to due to three factors. First is how the strength damage cap is generally claimed to work by fans on forums. Superbosses apparently have a strength cap of 62, but spells aren't affected normally because they're immune to the three normal spell attacks and Aero is too weak to come close to the 55 power cap. Second is how the magic damage appears to scale similarly when increasing MP to how Keyblade damage scales when increasing strength, as both increase more and more per extra point in the related power stat, so increasing Strength by 10 usually increases damage far more than just 10 points. Third is how similar the magic caps are according to the Kingdom Hearts Wiki's provided power calculations for spells in Kingdom Hearts Final Mix to the 55 damage cap. Therefore I conclude that the magic caps are just the magic spells hitting the power caps that are both used for strength based attacks and magic attacks (except for Gravity). As I said earlier the stats for the magic power are stated on the Kingdom Hearts Wiki.
@@MatthewCenance thats a fair deduction and I don’t see why it couldn’t work that way I only know of 15 MP being soft cap because that’s what everyones been saying since forever lol
You don’t necessarily need to save the game at the Aladdin’s area, you just need to stand on the save spot to recover any loss health/Mp, once full you can go back to the area and try again
@@Ninjaheiro this is true! They can reset from just looping two rooms, but I suggest saving after every encounter just in case you want/need to reset your rng
In terms of singular areas that are quickly clearable and resettable: 1. The District 2 Roof top with the ghosts and wyverns 2. The hotel hallway with Defender and Wizards you can easily farm them, I wonder if it's any good?
I never grinded (or felt the need to (yet)) in KH1, but, I would often use your route just for grinding synthesis materials. I had no idea how rare the defender shield was but got one relatively early. Once one learns about strike raid, bosses like sephiroth don't have to be fought at such high levels.. I knocked him down at around 75. Anyway, decent content.
After my STR is capped I just loop the 3rd District most of the time because of all the Defender spawns in that room. Probably not the best EXP run though, i'm not sure how it'd compare to the ones in the video.
Depends on your speed, with 4 exp accessories, Defenders (6 spawn) each drop 300 exp and Darkballs (7) each drop 120 exp, you’ll get 2640 exp per loop and let’s estimate it takes 30 seconds to clear that area that’s about 88 exp per sec; which is not bad at all
Thanks for this break down because I'am replaying all the Kingdom hearts game on the Ps4 via Final Mix versions so I'll be using your advice here thanks 🔥
I often use the Black Fungus strategy too when I get to Agrabah, at least for around level 23 to 26 is good enough. One method I usually do mid-game is beating Squall and Yuffie over and over again until I'm in the mid level 30s which is faster than it sounds if you have a few Golem Chains equipped. You get 300 and 400 EXP per their defeat, I find battling them somewhat faster when you're about level 35 or higher and on a casual run after 100 Acre Wood I grind at Olympus to around Level 50 before Hollow Bastion. I've never been able to consistently juggle the Rare Truffles, probably to some lesser extent because I often stick to the Kingdom Key for a little extra challenge during my playthroughs of KH1 (though I'm probably going to stop doing that at some point since while I like it aesthetically there's no advantage to using Kingdom Key over most of the Keyblades in KH1, though Golem Chains do make up for it at least), but 5050 EXP per minute and 47 sec. does sound appealing (granted you may need to Save Scum but still). If this is done consistently, I think one could potentially reach level 50 or higher quickly before Hollow Bastion which is an appealing prospect to me, especially when done with two or more of those suckers. I find so long as I have good equipment and at a high enough level and abilities that you can get through the entirety of the Hades Cup in about 30 minutes, I equip Ragnarok and grab a ton of items that restore MP before I enter the Hades Cup and equipping Goofy with MP Gift and no attack skills (he's the best party member simply for this ability, Tornado's good and all but when you obtain MP Gift there's no other ability he needs) and with great amounts of MP I find Ragnarok does pretty decent damage, Cerberus for instance went down in seconds when I used it a few times with 13 to 15 MP. I know the Rock Titan's probably technically not the fastest method to getting the most EXP gains, but I find it's a pretty fast EXP grinding method for endgame still, by the time you get access to the materials for the EXP accessories I feel you'll have the means to get to level 100 quickly just by beating Rock Titan over and over with EXP Ring equipped from my experience, beating the game in about 30 hours (which included cutscenes) whilst doing everything except the Gummi Ship missions. Update: Mad Truffle Match in the Hercules Cup is a good place to juggle the Rare Truffle if you can get into the rhythm, you won't get any items in the match of course but the EXP is more than worth the effort, restarting matches doesn't reset your EXP gains, and it only takes about a minute and 53 seconds to 2 minutes, doing this at least two times gives you a total of 10,100 EXP which is enough to level up in the mid level 40s, 5050 EXP is great to have, especially when grinding for level 50 or higher. As an example, I provide this video by me: th-cam.com/video/xPsJuej2UkY/w-d-xo.html
So here's my advice, from someone who did the mind-numbing challenge called 'Spite the Organization'. Where I go through KH1 and KH2 while killing as few Emblem Heartless as possible with Sora. Because of this, I grinded on Destiny Island for a good while, and prepared accordingly. And by that I mean, I chose the path that would give me the fasted Tech Boost. Then used it to grind on Selphie. Because of Tech Boost, deflecting her lunge would give 4 EXP instead of just 2, as both the deflection, and the head bonk, would double the EXP given. This all of course depends on what your aim is, but it's viable to a point. Side point, Shadows have no way to Tech off them. Guard, Deflection. nothing will get Tech points on them. Only killing gives EXP.

@@nickmcsleighten The Mystery Goo is a required material item for some synthesis items in the game. These two strategies (only one was mentioned before I edited the comment) are also close to the strategies to get the Mystery Goo. The first one generally uses Simba to eliminate the enemies with a critical hit or combo finisher to try and get the Heartless to drop the Mystery Goo. The second strategy drops Mystery Goo when the 100 hits are obtained.

Hey GH NaTHaN!! Idk why people are dogging on you (maybe they’re bad at Ice Titan lol) I think you’ve got a very viable strat for some quick levels Personally, I think Ice Titan would work the best as an early post-game strat because one of the main benefits is that makes stats completely irrelevant and most people likely wouldn’t have more than 1 or 2 EXP Accessories making it really high exp gain in a very short time
@@nickmcsleighten Quick response! Haha, yeah I guess they are bad at it lol. Yeah you're probably right about that, I haven't played the first KH in a few years, but next time I do I am gonna use that Rock Titan strat. @@gamergoku9001 im perpetually online lol plus this is like meeting a celebrity for me 😂😂 And i totally get that, 125 exp per block is pretty busted when you think about it But its wild Rock Titan is one of the fastest out there and I actually found out from testing after making this video that blasting Rock Titans health with Ars Arcanum (behind him on his back left foot) is way faster than going for Aeroga tech points because of that 9000-ish exp drop he gives upon being defeated So yeah when you play again, i highly recommend giving it a try!

I can appreciate you laying out the base numbers. Once i finish my grind for all cosmic arts on the party its off to the final grind to 100. This was very helpful.
All these strategies are great but I think hotel loop is the better one, its the shortest one, easiest to loop, less walking, encounter plus mandatory and buying tents to fully regain MP is not even a problem because this route can net you quite a bit of munny, and you can get tons of materials plus braindead farming for the goofy shield and donalds staff for the achievement. So far I have 3 staffs and 0 goofy shield, fucking hell.
Interesting i was spending all day yesterday just grinding a loop on the top 2 floors on hollow bastion went from lvl 50 to 68 i swear it made grinding the sling shot monkeys way easier. Also finally beat the time heartless in neverland i never beat as a kid
Currently playing this on ps3 again and got the game for under 10 bucks, 20 hours into the game im level 58 and find it harder to level up without any EXP accessories
Not sure if it is most efficient but i use linked worlds and go nuts with bambi to farm mythril and leave before the heart crest fully opens. Plus side is you can synth some AP ups after
I’ll have to test it sometime, but it probably isn’t inefficient, on the other hand it sounds like a really smart plan for potion, ether, hi-potion, mythril, and gale collection!
I just grinded when I collected items for ultima weapon. I mean you automatecly level up when you do alot of it. So I level up till level 78. Until I was done with all items. And the rest in hades Arena.
@@nickmcsleighten Right. I'd say these are all valid strats for speedrunners. For most normal players, by the time they've finished the final mix synthesis requirements for ultima blade, the rock titan is just the most valid option. I still think fighting selphie is way faster than tidus. You can get her to repeat the same attack that you can parry for 2 tp . Tidusdoent really repeat the attack to parry as much as she does.
So you’re not totally wrong, I find it’s dependent on which version is played I’ve tested on PS3 and PS4 and I notice on PS3, Tidus tends to not follow the strat but he does on PS4 So if you’re playing PS3, I do recommend the Selphie strat, though fighting the Shadows at night time is a bit faster than her, assuming you’re one shotting them
@nickmcsleighten I'm doing it now on as I usually grind to level 13 at the starting areas. I'm playing the ps4 version. For some reason, tidus doesn't give me enough of that attack vs. selphie, who repeats that attack plus the other attacks I can parry when she doesn't go on repeat.
@@TheUltrasora yeah Selphie for sure gets looped easier, are you running away from Tidus after he swipes and staying away long enough that he won’t do a flip?
Someone else said this too, and it kind of makes sense, but the way the level curves work is that: once you're at the proper level, it'd take the same remaining time as if you got there normally
@@Craiger3491 good question 😁 the weapon choice is (generally speaking) irrelevant to leveling outside of some minor stat differences, instead it mostly affects abilities So I personally always pick Shield so I can get Second Chance, Lucky Strike, and Slapshot early

I can run a test for you and we can see how effective it is comparatively
@@nickmcsleighten you end up testing it?
@@NexGenUtuber yes! thank you for reminding me lol
- With all 4 EXP Accessories equipped, the 3 Pirates and 3 Darkballs drop a total of 900 exp per fight (aka per loop)
- Timer started when I entered the room from the Cabin save point
- I had 15 MP so i was one shotting all enemies
- In 2 minutes, or 120 seconds, I did 10 loops
- 900 exp per loop x 10 loops = 9000 exp total / 120 seconds = 75 exp per second compared to the Rock Titans 204 (technically 114 with menuing)
On the other hand, I did get like 6 Power Gems in those 2 minutes so it is good for that!

Just the video I was looking for. Vs Rock Titan which is repetitious and gives you nothing besides exp.
I honestly didn't think the questions mattered with gaining more exp. This helped a ton 😂 so all I gotta do is pick all 3 top choices.
Basically, yeah 😁 the top three answer path (dawn) will give you the fastest level speed before LV 40, then the bottom three answer path (dusk) will become the fastest at LV 41 and after
Loved the video as always! Thanks for all the awesome content!
Glad to hear it :) and, of course, thanks for watching!
Any idea?😅
Thank god, don't waste your time with Riku lol
And yes! So my current strategy is on Day 3, pick the path of the mystic as we get Experience Boost the soonest at Level 7
Then on Day 6, get taken down to red blinking health and beat all the Nobodies that are in Twilight Town (don't go on to the Old Mansion), I loop Back Alley > Station Heights > Tram Common > Sandlot > repeat
Ive used this video so many times. Thank you!
3:05 Yeah, I beat Proud mode last night, so I ain't going back to that headache. But I'll keep watching
Fair enough 😂
I know it's later but it just came out on pc so I got the Master Intergrum edition. Decided to play them all. MASSIVE NOTE , on the Aladdin strategy I found out by trial u don't need to soft reset or exit re enter to get purple black fungus to appear. Just walk in, kill them, leave, go up pole to Aladdin house, save, do it all over again. Repeat.
@@Secret-ion correct! This was an oversight on my part; good catch
I love that you put the eps 😁 now i can compare and contrast
Update: I gave it a test and I will provide all my data for you:
- my Sora was at 15 MP, had 4 EXP Boosting accessories equipped, Encounter Plus on, and 8 Ethers
- the Green Room has 3 Search Ghosts (providing 240 exp each, 720 total)
- the Red Room has 3 Darkballs (providing 120 exp each, 360 total)
- I started my timer entering from the Red Room into the Green Room
- I ran it for 2 minutes (120 seconds) and achieved 16 loops with a loop being clear Green then Red Room
- 1 loop provides 1080 exp multipled by my 16 loops is 17280 exp
- 17280 exp divided by 120 seconds = 144 exp per second
Hot damn, good find DReignos!!
Oh nice, that’s really useful info! Where’d you find all that out at?
@@MatthewCenance thats a fair deduction and I don’t see why it couldn’t work that way

As an example, I provide this video by me:
th-cam.com/video/xPsJuej2UkY/w-d-xo.html
@@HexanTronic this is good advice, and ironically, I actually did make a video comparing the various strategies on Destiny Islands too (if you’re interested)

@@nickmcsleighten The Mystery Goo is a required material item for some synthesis items in the game.
These two strategies (only one was mentioned before I edited the comment) are also close to the strategies to get the Mystery Goo. Hey GH NaTHaN!! Idk why people are dogging on you (maybe they’re bad at Ice Titan lol) I think you’ve got a very viable strat for some quick levels

I’ve tested on PS3 and PS4 and I notice on PS3, Tidus tends to not follow the strat but he does on PS4

Best place to level up: go through the entire game on Level 1, then use simba in the final area before the last boss.

But thanks for the tip and keep up the great work. I've been loving your content for my series playthrough. Thanks Nick!
@@domonchief no problem! That’s a great strategy as well and I’m glad my videos can help 😁
Rock Titan. Getting EXP bullied since 2002. LMAO!
everything bout this video is great, and IMO you owe yourself a better mic ahha not tryna be negative, but I think it would help you cos this kinda content is great and you have good talking skills etc, but the mic is peaking. Just an audio obsessed guy so take this with grains of salt. Great stuff man
Appreciate you! And you’re right tho, funny enough right after this video i got a new mic 😂
wow what are the chances? thats wonderful! cant wait to see what you do with it :)@@nickmcsleighten

does any of the methods apply to the original game of KH1? currently trying to grind to up to lvl 100 before fighting Ansem
@@seandam8943 I assume they would all apply, they would just have lower exp per second due to the lack of EXP Accessories in the PS2 OG version
What if you use more than 4 exp accessories?
Outside of Beginner Mode, there is only 4 (though you could probably synthesize more if you really wanted to), but if you’re on Beginner Mode, you can have a total of 5, and that will increase your exp gain to 120-130%, it still stacks 😁
I should also say, me saying “there’s only 4” or “only 5” doesn’t mean you can’t have more if you synthesize them, I’ve just never tried
You have some dumb humor.... Which it's right up my alley! Subbed 👍
@@r3v9191 thank you 😁😁
So pick shield and drop sword then?
In my opinion, yes, but it’s up to you and your play style
@@nickmcsleighten Let's see how it goes on proud mode thanks for the video.
@@bryanrosadoortiz no problem! Hope it helps 😁
Thanks Nick
Glad it could help 😁
Would you need the deep jungle key blade or can it be ANY long keyblade
@@josswagdepimpdaddy5467 any long keyblade would work, just at the time frame you’ll probably only have Jungle King
Even with strats I have never gotten a good setup for the rare truffles. i always attack and they miss making them fall. but ill say i have never seen this version. seems easier than others I have seen.
@@frodofranz if it helps, you can go to the rare truffle in the hercules cup and practice the timing there; since its a no stakes, repeatable environment
