This helped me get the Ultima weapon so much, thank you!! I've been playing the PS4 version and there's a couple of things I found while following this tutorial this week that might be worth sharing. The Frost Gems that the Sea Neons drop, I spent ages on them with very little drop, and I read online that they only drop them when magic is used as the final blow, so I tried casting thunder to finish them off and sure enough the drop rate rose to about 50%! Sometimes goofy can get in the way and finish them off for you so that can be a bit annoying. Also a tip for the stealth soldiers in hallow bastion is if you enter the lower part of the hall and there's 1 Large Body and 2 Wizards spawned, that means there are 2 stealth soldiers in that spawn set. If you walk in and there's different heartless to the ones mentioned above, leave 2 screens away and come back and try again.
Additionally, if you find those 2 stealth soldiers in the lower part of entrance hall, head to the upper floor of the same area, and you’ll find 2 more stealth soldiers alongside a Defender heartless. Up to 2 Stealth Soldiers can also be found in the Grand Hall (the place where you fought Riku the second time)
Looking back on this video and remembering how tedious making Ultima Weapon in 1.5 was really gives me perspective and makes me grateful for how uch more straightforward it is in 2 and 3.
Yea it was way way easier in the original but then they decided to torment us with this lol. Really wish I would go buy a copy and play it that way, I don't mind tank controls at all since that was what I grew up on

Very nice! A no-nonsense guide that breaks it down to the very best places for farming. Most guides just tell you what Heartless an item comes from. I just want to mention two things you forgot: 1: Not all of these items are directly needed to forge the Ultima Weapon. They are needed to forge every other item however, which besides Fantasista and Seven Elements, MUST be created in order for Ultima Weapon to appear on the list. 2: With Grand Ghost, the best item to use on him is actually a Megalixer. It kills him in one hit and GAURANTEES that you will get two Frost Stones every time!

Yeah, adding all these "gimmick" Heartless was rather pointless in my opinion. They serve no real purpose except to pad your play time if you're going for 100%. And most aren't even fun to go after. It probably wouldn't be so bad if you only needed one or two from them but when you need 5+ from every single one it definitely wears on you and becomes this pointless grind. In the original you could 100% it with a little more work than the normal player, but now only the most vested fans of the game are going to put the time in for it. I really do think they went overboard with the number of items needed from the gimmick monsters when they could have been adding additional lore or fun bosses.

this video was very helpful, but now that I can synthesize the ultimate weapon (once I get 3 more Dark Matter) I don't think I will, there's no point, the amount of Heartless I''ve had to kill to get all of the items needed to synthesize everything else has leveled me up so much I can do huge amounts of damage with the Kingdom Key, I kinda like that irony in a way, by the time you earn the right to wield the ultimate weapon, you won't need it at all
Well, i don't think that. If you manage to do it at lvl 50 and you're aiming for the platinum trophy, there are a lot of things to do, a lot of farming to do untill you reach lv 100. And it's a nice weapon to kill the extra bossess like Kurt Zisa, Sephiroth and others. =]
It was worthwhile in the original PS2 version, but it's honestly just a chore to get in FM and not worth the trouble. That might also be why they upgraded the Divine Rose from being a mediocre Keyblade in the original to being one of the best in the game, because it's far less likely that players will want to go through the grindy trouble of getting the Ultima Weapon.
Chemical_E it’s worth the grind imo. i paid 35 bucks for this remastered version give me a challenge. I’m glad it’s tough, I got my money’s worth unlocking the ultima. It wasn’t even that bad once you get a hang of it. I have methods.... ultima methods 😈

It's barely worth it. The MP boost and range still make it a good weapon but the "balancing adjustments" made to item synthesis in the final mix make it a Hell of a lot more trouble than it really should be if I'm being honest, you can't even get it without going to the final room of the game before the final boss and farming from uncommon enemies. You can beat the game just fine with the Divine Rose or Oathkeeper (or even Lady Luck if you insist on magic buffs) and it really is only worth it if you want to beat Sephiroth and Xemnas.

Great guide! Just one thing, the Pink Agaricus has two lock on points(head and body). I was raging at the fact that I wasn't getting serenity power, and then I found that out. Just a tip for everyone else!! In the video, it auto locks on the head, just make sure it's on the head for the ragnarok strategy.
Gonna share my personal experience and journey to attaining the Ultima Weapon in case anyone who stumbles upon this video is asking themselves, "Is this grind worth it?" Just got finished farming for the Ultima Weapon using this guide and it took about 10-11 hours to farm every item that I was missing to synthesize Ultima (started to farm for everything after sealing Hollow Bastion). Speaking from my personal experience, the grind for some of these materials is pretty rough at times cause of some of the low drop rates and the gimmick heartless' that have convinced me that the sole purpose of their existence is to piss off people who are going for this weapon. I know that I definitely contemplated throwing in the towel and stopping the grind a couple of times. But O BABY, was it satisfying to go back to the shop and finally synthesize it. It's definitely worth the grind, but the grind is certainly not for everyone. I guarantee you'll be seething with rage and hate at some point during your journey. If anyone has any questions at all, feel free to reply to this comment and I'll try my best to help! :D
Here I am after I platinumed the all in one collection and KH3 which is the last one. You've been great help soraalam1. I love KH community one of the best games. When I was a kid (grade 4 or so) my brothers used to play it and I enjoyed watching them and now they watched me play it. Good moments.
Right you are chap. More on the Fridge Brilliance is why unlike the normal Shadows up to your party's level of size, they don't phase through the ground; they're already highly visible and thus, it'd be pointless to their level of mindset.

I just wish the KH games had a NG+ mode or some kind of world reset version of level select or something so you can have fun with the weapons and items you get. As it stands now...you do all this work for the Ultima weapon and then have absolutely nothing to do with it. It's literally just for completion purposes, which sucks imo. It would have been so cool to be able to unlock it then take it through the game on a harder difficulty just for fun, or to go back and fight bosses with it to see how awesome it was.
I remember beating the whole game with just the regular keyblade when the game first came out even with the regular attacks cause i was too young too know i could do this haha im 17 now
+Primal OnSlaught For me, the ultima weapon is only useful for the secret bosses. I beat the game with Oblivion at the PS2 and with Divine Rose on Final Mix (proud mode) without any problems.
I remember when I first got my ultimate weapon......What a nightmare and it took forever. Who ever thinks the ultimate weapon is not worth all this hard it actually is. The ultimate weapon has alot of magic and strength. Its the perfect keyblade for any battle in the entire game.
Not worth it. If you can beat the game without it then I don't give a singular mc shizle about that thing. I'm not gonna waste hours of my life searching for the materials when I could be progressing the story.
I've just done it for the first time. Never again lol. Took 13 hours of grinding (with a guide) Only reason I did it is because I'm playing on Proud mode and I want to beat all the optional bosses.
the stop method on the snipwerwilds did work for me. What's giving me the most trouble is that damn Pink Agaricus in the deep jungle. multiple times I got it past 50 hits but no Serenity power. This vid was a big help though so many thanks for uploading this. It's literally my go-to guide for hunting down Ultima weapon materials
Every single rare item i have double or occasionally triple of them or just the perfect amount but every common item i have none of and can't seem to get them to drop...

I know right after I beat any kingdom hearts game I die a couple of times against a secret boss then switch the game because this type of stuff can take up to a year to complete... Unless you have wiki... or this video...
Hollow Bastion - Area with the seven princess's - go on the platform where you fought the boss and look back towards the entrance you'll see a chest up on high.

I was thinking "hey maybe the ultima weapon is good" but after 20 min of just TELLING how to get it, i will just use the lion heart...not worth it at all.
you do know that all those ingredients in the first part is just the synthesis guide right??? the total you need to make every synthesis item. for ultima weapon you just need 5 thunder gem 5 mstery goo 3 serenity power 3 stormy stone and 3 dark matter. use this guide to find them.
Great video it's helping me out a lot, as for the Stealth Soldier if anyone doesn't know sometimes 2 spawn in that room one in the middle of the staircases and one at the top makes getting the energy stones a bit faster :D
Bout time you get all the materials, you’re already level 99. What’s the point? No boss in the game, not even optional ones are that hard to that you really need this. KH2 handle this so much better

Speaking from my personal experience, the grind for some of these materials is pretty rough at times cause of some of the low drop rates and the gimmick heartless' that have convinced me that the sole purpose of their existence is to piss off people who are going for this weapon. I know that I definitely contemplated throwing in the towel and stopping the grind a couple of times. But O BABY, was it satisfying to go back to the shop and finally synthesize it. It's definitely worth the grind, but the grind is certainly not for everyone. I guarantee you'll be seething with rage and hate at some point during your journey. Here I am after I platinumed the all in one collection and KH3 which is the last one. You've been great help soraalam1. I love KH community one of the best games. When I was a kid (grade 4 or so) my brothers used to play it and I enjoyed watching them and now they watched me play it. Good moments.

More on the Fridge Brilliance is why unlike the normal Shadows up to your party's level of size, they don't phase through the ground; they're already highly visible and thus, it'd be pointless to their level of mindset.

I just wish the KH games had a NG+ mode or some kind of world reset version of level select or something so you can have fun with the weapons and items you get. As it stands now...you do all this work for the Ultima weapon and then have absolutely nothing to do with it. It's literally just for completion purposes, which sucks imo. It would have been so cool to be able to unlock it then take it through the game on a harder difficulty just for fun, or to go back and fight bosses with it to see how awesome it was.

+Primal OnSlaught For me, the ultima weapon is only useful for the secret bosses. I beat the game with Oblivion at the PS2 and with Divine Rose on Final Mix (proud mode) without any problems.

I remember when I first got my ultimate weapon......What a nightmare and it took forever. Who ever thinks the ultimate weapon is not worth all this hard it actually is. The ultimate weapon has alot of magic and strength. Its the perfect keyblade for any battle in the entire game.
Not worth it. If you can beat the game without it then I don't give a singular mc shizle about that thing. I'm not gonna waste hours of my life searching for the materials when I could be progressing the story.

I've just done it for the first time. Never again lol. Took 13 hours of grinding (with a guide) Only reason I did it is because I'm playing on Proud mode and I want to beat all the optional bosses.

Just get all the chest in the game. No need to farm mythril items.
the stop method on the snipwerwilds did work for me. What's giving me the most trouble is that damn Pink Agaricus in the deep jungle. multiple times I got it past 50 hits but no Serenity power. This vid was a big help though so many thanks for uploading this. It's literally my go-to guide for hunting down Ultima weapon materials
Every single rare item i have double or occasionally triple of them or just the perfect amount but every common item i have none of and can't seem to get them to drop...
took me 2 weeks of on and off playing, I came back almost 20 times to watch this video and after 30 hours of grinding, I have finally done it.. thank you, friend.

It all sounds like a tedious grind if you ask me, meh, I tend to get bored really fast with this kind of stuff.
I know right after I beat any kingdom hearts game I die a couple of times against a secret boss then switch the game because this type of stuff can take up to a year to complete...

@Otacon464 Old comment I know, but with the Dream Shield you unlock Lucky Strike at like level 20, with the Sword it's at level 90 and with the rod it's level 40

Serenity Powers are actually so cancerously hard to get. Dark matters suck to synthesize as well
Serenity Powers are easy to get. 40 hits on a Pink Agaricus is nothing.

Finished this 100% on PS2 a long time ago, not going to bother on PS3 since the synthesis materials are so difficult/time consuming to get. Did they make similar changes in KH2.5?

You get it from synthesizing items on the Moogle list. Once you reach 15 items synthesized you'll get it from the Moogle.

mystery goo is rather easy once you get them to spawn and the yellow guys can be summoned rather consistently and being defeated easily

LJmvp they spawn in many worlds very easily like in atlantis and the deep jungle and you gotta cast 3 spells depending on their motion

you do know that all those ingredients in the first part is just the synthesis guide right??? the total you need to make every synthesis item.
for ultima weapon you just need 5 thunder gem 5 mstery goo 3 serenity power 3 stormy stone and 3 dark matter. use this guide to find them.

Great video it's helping me out a lot, as for the Stealth Soldier if anyone doesn't know sometimes 2 spawn in that room one in the middle of the staircases and one at the top makes getting the energy stones a bit faster :D
Bout time you get all the materials, you’re already level 99. What’s the point? No boss in the game, not even optional ones are that hard to that you really need this. KH2 handle this so much better
