    For KH3, I'd say Thundaza and Waterza grand magics.
    Thundaza's a veritable screen nuke, and Waterza protects the user while casting and still deals damage in a large area.

    • @primepikachu5
      @primepikachu5 2 ปีที่แล้ว +36

      All the za spells give you invulnerability while casting waterza is more noticeable cus it has a longer casting animation. (Water normal does give some I frames though but not on startup so you need to time it)

      If I'm not mistaken, all Grand Magic provides s when they're used, regardless of the tier of spell. I don't have access to any specific framedata, though, so for all I know Waterza could actually provide more s compared to the other Grand Magic commands.
      For bosses I would actually say that Firaga and Firaza are far more broken, but you need to have a specific build and enough Magic for that. Thundaza's a screen nuke but Thundaga has a very high MP cost and on Critical Mode it's far harder to get commands in general, and Water magic has a high enough MP cost in addition to having slow DPS overall that it's not really broken. Fire magic on the other hand has a very low MP cost, including Firaga, so it's easy to spam for lots of damage, and Firaza scales incredibly well with your Magic, more so than any other spell I think.

      @@jeppy98 Focus Step..? I've never heard of that ability. Do you mean Airstep? I'm assuming so, but I'd have to say that it's not actually broken. It's a tool meant to be a universal combo starter, follower as well as a repositioning tool. It's incredibly useful, but it's far from a tool that breaks the game.

    The most broken move in kh1 is stop+gravity combo which deletes bosses. For kh2 is easily reflega final form firaga fenrir with megative combo and zantetsuken with last Arcanum. And for kh3 it's easily infinity circle and Ultima form that does insane damage with combo boost and when we are talking about normal mobs every form is basically over powered except second form.

    Fire into Firaza / Water into Waterza spam is arguably the most busted tactic in KH3 though
    It's kinda reminiscent of final form firaga but it can be abused by both base forms and melee key transformations (claws (both of them) and flag specifically)

  • @ventusse
    @ventusse 2 ปีที่แล้ว +31

    For KH3, for me will be the fire spam with endless magic and magic galvanizer, then go wild with the -ga spells after. You can stunlock the base game secret boss using this one.
    Aside from that, Firaga spam is still one of the most broken move in KH3

  • @Rahnonymous
    @Rahnonymous 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Exp zero unironically is busted in KH1. I don't know exactly how it works, but the gist is that the way some damage formulas work in conjunction to exp zero allows magic to be super overpowered against bosses.

    • @cloud_slash6484
      @cloud_slash6484 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    • @IosLocarth

      Well the gist of it is that it has a bunch of hidden properties that make it so you don't do chip damage for the entire game and die in a single hit. Normally it's not too broken because they're expecting you to be either at level one or an incredibly low level if you have it on but you can turn it on for certain boss fights or such to cheese them if you're doing a casual playthrough

    I've seen a few comments about Water/Watera/Waterga from 3 and honestly, I have to agree lmao. The moment I saw Waterza nuke the screen it became a permanent part of my shortcut menu. Tracks enemies, has splash damage, and fairly easy to spam, and with a magic build you can dish out lots of damage.

  • @heart3460
    @heart3460 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Are you just forgetting they went out of their way to nerf magic in KH3 because Sora could shred everything not immune to fire, by beating his empty skull into the Firaga shortcut? You can eat to improve the chance of getting certain Grand Magic. You're also missing how amazing that fast move option inside Shot Locks are.
    Chain of Memories I think you listed very safe examples, but those are the lame examples you won't actually use other than to farm. Lethal Frame is also only in RE:CoM and while awesome, let me suggest a few more entries. Firaga + Fire Boost Enemy Card in both GBA and remake shreds bosses and it's not hard to farm Fire cards and Red Nocturnes due to Traverse Town spawning the latter and Fire being your only magic card for any lucky Moogle shops. Blizzaga/Blizzard Raid + Blue Rhapsody sweeps mob fights in both versions until you get Thunder Cards and their boost. After that all you need is to carry a Blizzard Raid or 2 for Thunder resistant enemies. Also, you forgot 3 Cloud cards will destroy anything with Omnislash. Also, for GBA Sonic Rave hits a lot of bosses and many times due to the limited room and hitboxes, while making you very safe due to i-frames. Jafar + Ars Arcanum for RE:CoM is funny and brainless.
    KH1's magic is arguably the most intelligently broken as most things don't nullify Gravity and Stop magic, so Stop something and then chunk it's HP with a few Gravigas and then laugh about it. Also, don't bother with Trinity, just strike everything with Thundaga like you're Zeus.
    KH2's got a whole slew of really, solidly good options that have their own time and place. But if you're doing casual, how can you not mention Magnet + Thunder spam? Hell, just spam Thunder and then Reflectga when the game tries to stop you. Also, Final Form Firaga looping is silly.
    BbS, none of the moves you mentioned are actually really good outside of maybe Time Splicer. BbS hates those flashy moves for boss fights because Revenge Values in BbS almost feel random. Just gun down everything with fast reloading simple magic. Or be Aqua and plant more mines than World War 2.

    I'm not sure if anyone's said it but in KH3, Favorite Deputy's keyblade transformation, Hyper Hammer, is broken. Specially firaga. It's essentially final form firaga and extremely strong. It's not a specific move you have easy access to with just a button but it's still insane.

  • @Superstarearth

    There is many broken combos you can do in KH2. Final form fire is the big one where you can stun lock most bosses. Finishing plus magnet with Zigbar and Xaldin. Berserk charge with Final form or horizontal slash on Zigbar or Terra. The PC port of Duck Flare does fantastic damage while stun locking things for you for set up. Peter Pan against Saix and Terra has loops. Stitch plus magnet thunder spam where you can almost unlimited about of MP while stun locking most mob fights. Chicken Little early game is super good for stun locking most mob fights. Many many broken combos in KH2

Round blitz is a strong, quick, cheap, and fast-reloading circle attack that's always reliable. If we were to include finish commands, I'd also suggest zone of ruin.

    If there is one move that is broken in KH3, it's speed slash. It's a finisher that has Sora do 3 heavy slashes that can juggle multiple enemies with positioning, and if timed right, you can juggle bosses as well. It moves very fast, and can be cancelled with a dodge to mix with a magic spell, or give you time to heal.

    For kh3, i would say its Fire/water/blizzard spells with spear/hammer transformed keyblade. I don't remember if you can do it with thunder, but with these 3, and some proper timing, you can stunlock any enemy or boss to death, and since its really quick, it gives you time enough to pop a ether and proceed spamming.
    Aeroza its really great too. Not only does a lot of damage when you use it, it also creates 3 smaller tornados to hit incoming spawning enemies

  • @ryoshii2070
    @ryoshii2070 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    As someone who’s played re:coded quite a lot, I’ll add that the chain rave and judgement triad skills are amazing. Chain rave can do big amounts of damage to any regular enemy, only problem is that range is a little short so you may not get to hit many enemies with it, but the range isn’t that bad. (In the move, Sora spins his keyblade forward, slicing things ahead.) That’s where judgement triad comes in. Pretty much as long as you’re locked in, it will hit and it’ll do some great damage. If you line yourself up right, it can clear a lot of enemies since the projectiles don’t dissipate and keep on going. (You throw three keyblades ahead, and home in if you’re locked on.)
    Other than that, thunder spells are pretty good simply because of the fact that they can fill up your clock gauge so fast. Just use it near some blox, purple ones being the best since they can take three hits each. (In case you’ve never played recoded, you fill up the gauge to the max to do a finisher you have set, and along the way to building it up, you get bonuses according to the keyblade you have set. (Imo, best finisher is zone of ruin, a huge sword slash ending in a giant explosion, but there are other good ones, noticeably spinner ray and faithblade) And blox are just.. blocks you can hit. There’s tons of them in basically every room.)

    I think the most broken thing in any Kingdom Hearts game is the combination of Second Chance and MP Rage/Damage Syphon. It effectively makes you unkillable in any fight as long as you're not terrible at the game, and it also makes it so that getting hit by enemy attacks is a net positive. Throw in Leaf Bracer and it means that you should never die in any fight.

      Not even close. Base kh3 is a chore. It drags too much and it feels like it locks you way from end game and actual story progression. And the combat is too floaty. I like grounded combat and soras foot work while fighting. He never touches the ground and unrealistically floats above the ground weirdly. Sora flips around for no reason to attack. If your fighting the data bosses these forms are bad because enemies can break out because you are slow. And how about progression. The game has no combo modifiers to be gained. You get them from completing the game. And finishers don't trigger depending the enemies you have around you. They always go in the same order. Not that there is an aoe finisher. And many forms are just recycled.

    Kh2 final form firaga definitely. This move breaks almost every single fight in the game and is used in most of the data org speed run. It gives no Revenge Value if you don’t use a finisher with it and will keep the boss/enemy stunned permanently until either you run out of form or drive.

Basically, due to the fact, the Keyblades spin around during Firaga, it deals both Fire and Melee damage, which the game finds hard to calculate when it's happening at the same time. So, a similar thing can happen if you attack while goofy uses Goofy Tornado. Just do an attack while another is happening. The reason for no finishers is because it tosses bosses away, which you don't want when you're trying to stunlock them obviously. This can be especially bad when fighting Lingering Will and he gets forced revenge value to do his whip attack.

    May I add three things here?
    - You severely understated the use of Reflega, especially how it's a no-brainer for speedrunners and is also known to utterly decimate numerous bosses on its own, one of them being Sephiroth himself
    - While not inherently broken in itself, magic in KH3 has gotten pretty strong, to a point where literal or tactical spam even rewards the player with -za magic. Combined with certain keyblades you're able to deathtrap many bosses in a magic cycle too.
    - The Ultima shotlock is quite powerful too, especially against the 13 Xehanort armors, though that's more of a technical cause.

The game has really good systems, but what good does it do when you are given no incentive to properly engage with them? Get judgement triad, a curaga and like 2 or 3 triple pursuits and that's basically the best deck. It also has the issue of masking some of the otherwise questionable design. There is no reason rethink the secret bosses into actually good fights(They only lose to MF from BBS interms of succ) when the player can just obliterate them in two judgement triads.

    For BBS, I just want to say that attack dodges like Thunder Roll, while not game breaking, are just incredibly cheesy moves that allow you free damage.
    Edit: Also for KH1, Strike Raid is a common tool for getting rid of pesky bosses and annoying enemies.

    • @RadiantDarkBlaze
      @RadiantDarkBlaze 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The whole reason Terra's tough to play is because his dodge has breaks in its i-frames, which is absolutely a no-go against Mysterious Figure and even Iron Imprisoner IV; and can get him in trouble in swarms he can't just Magnega or Stopga. The attack dodges put breaks in Ven's and Aqua's dodges, compared to their normal dodges which can provide _constant_ i-frames at max command level. So, there's a significant trade-off to the attack dodges; they're not quite "free damage" because you're trading a good chunk of your safety away by even equipping them over your normal dodge.

    For Re:coded, Judgment Triad. A well leveled Judgement Triad is able to basically 2 shot the final boss.
    To elaborate, judgement Triad shoots several magic keyblade buzzsaws at the opponent, which strike in a pincer like attack. It also has slight homing properties, so if you're facing the enemy it will very likely hit, even if they move quickly.
    The other one that might work (but is... arguably banned due to the rules) is Zero 1's (I think it's Zero one? Been a few years since I last played...) final clock ability. Basically, the clock abilities are like BBS finisher commands, but you get cool abilities as you progress towards the finisher. Zero's final ability lets you hit enemies from a distance. With your melee strike. And it isn't like, an extra 5 or 10 feet or keyblade lengths, no, I'm talking like ROOM length strikes. So you can enter a room, swing the keyblade in the air, and everything in a 30 foot cone in front of you dies, without you even needing to get close. Just walk in, swing, bam, done. Earlier clock levels (which are kept as you progress) let you have "All critical", so every strike you do it a crit., so you can hit from a room away with critical strikes. Enemy HP bars utterly *MELT* The *only* weakness is that its the final clock level, so you have to get to that point to use it (like in BBs, goes up by smacking enemies), and once you get level 4 filled you use your finisher and reset to level 1, thereby removing the ability until you get back to level 4. So you don't get to have it for long, but holy crap is is strong!

    Union x was always busted every time a Kairi medal or copycat one came out. Always super broken during its Era and very long lasting.

    Instead, I'd say that in a magic heavy keyblade, SN++ KH3 Aqua was the most broken because, leaving out all the complex descriptions many won't understand, proper use of this medal could boost your damage output by a few trillion. KH1 and 2 limits in general are pretty broken, as long as one has enough MP to keep supplying them. The only downside some of them have is that they require party members to be alive, which...there are alternative limits if they aren't.
    KH Days: Thundaga is honestly closer to what one would call broken. It is more siturational than Limit Breaks, but it just works incredibly well when it does. Limitbreaks meanwhile...sometimes don't. Some characters have an awful limitbreak(Dual wield roxas has insane damage. Too bad it almost never hits anything) or it exposes them to a threat of dying because it throws away defence completely. I agree with fire tho, it basically takes care of most things Thundaga doesn't work on.
    KH Recoded: Anyone who didn't play this, please do. Anyhow, I agree with judgement triad and for a crazy good spell, I'd take Triple Pursuit. It's just rediculous, it's a bunch of icicles of doom that destroy anything and everything, except some bosses.(And even then, they can sometimes stall those bosses until Judgement Triad is back in action)
    KH3D: Balloonga. Normal balloon is ok(except for julius, who gets obliterated by it) and ra has the highest damage but leaves you open for getting hit, which can give you a game over(I played Crit for the most part without once more and without second chance for about half of it too, I'd know.). Ballonga however is effectively completely free damage and even stuns most enemies to give you an opening to cast Balloonra. Balloonga is so stupid good that it argubly shouldn't exist in this series...and Osaka team appearently agrees with this, as I only found a single one of them in my playthrough(I didn't use a guide. That's why I didn't find Once More until it was basically over.)
    I like how KH COM(As in, the original) is not on the radar at all, btw. Any notes about the remake just don't apply to it(Lethal frame especially, that wasn't even in the original) and even if we go a bit further on the powerscale which the video didn't, Firaga/Blizzaga-nonsense didn't really exist in that game either. The closest thing is Strike Raid being a really good multihit, but it's not what I would call particularly OP.

    Limit form, reflect, trinity limit.berserk charge, horizontal slash, Peter Pan, stitch, chicken little, firaga, thundaga, magnega
    It’s kinda hard to decide. Kh2, through synergy had a massive op move library.
    I liked the solo trinity limit with combination boost, limit form, ars arcanum a second trinity limit, and possibility the berserk charge horizontal slash combo, myself.
    With a Peter Pan human shield for indefinite revives

    Kingdom Hearts 3 Fire magic, magic build spam Fire/Fira/Firaga and you can just melt boss life bars with one round of Fire magic, and all the -za spells that pretty much trivialize mob fights especially with their idea of including accessory and even some Keyblade that can make them pop without even using the corresponding spells.

    Kinda annoying that he doesn't go into more detail about why the fire magic is OP in 358/2 days and just says "if you've played it you know" because i haven't played it so i don't know

      @@KeyofTime15 , im not saying it's a bad game, i just wanted to know more about it without having to spend hours playing through the game while every other skill in the video got some sort of explanation

      If you really want an explanation, Magic in general is just busted in 358/2 Days. Fire in particular is a homing attack that rarely misses and does decent damage even in late game@@tumbleweed420hits

    For people asking "what about 0.2" just refer to what I said about KH3. Two are pretty similar in their gameplay mechanics albeit some small changes (I guess)

    Personally I'm in agreement with most of this, though I never use reflect unless I'm grinding for experience so I suppose I'd go with magnet spiral but i digress. I'm surprised to hear someone else say 3 has good combat, I've had this steadfast belief for years and I'm either bombarded with talks of summons or attractions and I've always found it weird given that summons and links in 2 are always given a pass so thanks for the conformation there. Love the video on the whole btw very concise and well spoken.

      Other people who think 3's combat is up there with 2? They exist? 😱 I thought I was the only one! 😭
      Personally, I think KH3 combat is actually even better than KH2 combat, if only slightly.
      You just need to pretend Links and Attractions don't exist. With that critical mode skill that disables attraction flow, this is pretty easy to do!
      Formchange is more satisfying to use in 3, shotlocks add some spice, airstep, etc.

      @@evanvongustav8814 I agree, Although I don't mind links, if summons in 2 can be used I don't see the issue, along with team attacks; limits in 2 are stupid broken but get a pass because the player has complete control on and I think that's not fair.
      I even like attractions flow as it adds to the flair of it all, my only problem is hat I don't like splash run otherwise I think they're great. Air stepping is great too, 2 is fun and all do not get me wrong, but there's something oddly restrictive to it I could never wrap my head around, it functions and I do have a blast, but 3 just scratched an itch.
      Mostly what i think the difference is, is how the player is rewarded, in 2 you are given things that you grind up and those rewards are either great to start or have to be leveled up to be great so they could be a tad busted. In 3 the formchanges are given to you whole sale at once but the catch is you have to be the one to earn them every single time and that's what's fun, it makes you play smarter because if you take to long in-between combos you loose an arrow and there for are weaker than you are with the formchange, i just think that's a neat bit of risk reward.

      Oh yeah! I mean, I don't really have a problem with Attraction flow either.
      TBH: I've never been good at reaching for commands further down the list than "Magic", so I just kind of never use Summons in KH.
      Also tbh, the only reason I prefer to play with Attractions turned off is cause the ability that disables Attractions guarantees a Formchange when the Situation Gauge fills, and those are by far my favorite kind of Situation Command.
      Honestly, I was just saying that it isn't hard to ignore the controversial mechanics if you don't like them.
      But IMO" KHIII has all the best mechanics from across the franchise!
      Birth By Sleeps Command Styles (keyblade forms), and Shotlocks, Dream Drop's Flowmotion and Reality Shift (Attraction Flow), KH2's Reaction commands (but watered down a bit and ironically enough, less situational in their usage.) and Limits (they're less cinematic less time consuming, and more seamless, and less blatantly overpowered in KH3, but on the other hand there"s no longer w drawback to team Abilities)
      Lastly, and most importantly, they made blocking midair not suck for the first time in the franchise's history, which leads to the floatiness adding to the spectacle rather than taking away from it.
      Honestly, if it weren't for the flashy goodness of Drive Forms And Reaction commands in KH2, I'd probably say KH1 combat is more fun in a few ways.
      I didn't even like KH1 combat the first time I played it, and I thought KHII's combat was perfection until KHIII released.
      I used to think Re:CoM and to a lesser extent BBS combat was pure torture, and it took me playing through Chain of Memories in its entirety then going through most of Sora's story a SECOND time before it started to click.
      It's like, CoM seems unfair until the mechanics start to make sense. But its not something that can be taught or practiced til it makes sense, you just need to have enough experience.
      Honestly, none of the KH game have bad gameplay (ok, even as someone who likes simple turn based RPGs, Union Cross was... Meh, and I could not get into Dark Road til it went offline/F2W, for starters, having actual decent attacks just by grinding and not by paying money, helped tremendously, and I found the gameplay was more engaging when I restricted the number of charms I was allowed to use per boss fight, and avoided grinding unless I deemed it impossible to progress in the story without either doing said grinding or going over my allotted number of Charms.
      The beauty of Dark Road offline is that you can cheese anything and everything in the game if you feel like it between the endless battle mode, auto battle setting, and practically free/unlimited continues, and only have to actually play the game if you A. Have time, and B. Want to. If the gameplay's not for you, just let the game plays itself between cutscenes/dialogue boxes!
