Bendy Bones (B-Bones) are an easy way to replace long chains of many small rigid bones. A common use case for curved bones is to model spine columns or facial bones.
    Technical Details
Blender treats the bone as a section of a Bézier curve passing through the bones’ joints. Each of the Segments will bend and roll to follow this invisible curve representing a tessellated point of the Bézier curve. The control points at each end of the curve are the endpoints of the bone. The shape of the B-Bones can be controlled using a series of properties or indirectly through the neighboring bones (i.e. first child and parent). The properties construct handles on either end of the bone to control the curvature.

Still my "goto" setup video for bendy bones. Short, concise, clear, and effective. Cheers man, a bottle of brown on me when the pubs reopen.

I like your videos and I don't understand your language well, but with the explanations it works for me. I want to ask you a question, how can I make an animation of a flat plate a pyramid with a hollow quadrangular base.
Using bone with inclined angles is difficult for me.
    Thank you

hi thanks for the tutorial but i do have a question. i did get the bendy bone to do its thing but when i parent a mesh and do automatic weights , its attached to the 'start' and 'end' but the whole bendy part does bend but stretches out... how would i have the mesh follow the bendy bone ?

How do I restrict the length of the bendy bone so it won't stretch the mesh?

Hey can you do me a favor and expose a Blender Bendy Bone glitch? Im not a youtuber and dont have a voice, so i cant get it to light (yes I've already submit a bug ticket)
You can animate the Blender bendy bone parameters on the timeline, but you CANNOT animate them with "action constraints" or the "in betweens function".
Would you mind showing this problem in a video?

brother i need help.... I have a bendy bone rigged corrugated hose on to of a gun, when you open the gun ( slide the front part of it open to discard the spent cartridge) the hose is supposed to stretch ( one end is supposed to be attached to the front sliding parts and the other end of the hose to the other part. Now when i set the bendy bone rig for the hose the hose acts perfectly.however, i can't seem to get the bones in pose mode to follow the objects the hose is supposed to be attached to. so bones deform the hose properly..but the tips of the armature which are supposed to be attached to the objects do not receive transform data when i move anything else on the whole weapon rig.basically, the objects where the hose endings hook to don't pull on the bones of the hose of the hose. so either the hose does not stretch...OR the only thing that stretches is the vertices at each end of the hoose hooked to the hoseplugs they are hooked to. I could use some help here bro ive been seraching the internet for hours on this.

can we convert this B-Bones to a Mesh ?
or we still need to envelope Mesh to Bendy Bones

    • @user-10021
      @user-10021 3 ปีที่แล้ว

you'll parent your mesh to the bones, that enables both to move

    "control shaft"
to be honest it wont work on my blender because i dont know what it is.
I dont have a right shift or right ctrl button, because it is replaced by a "pause button"
why do designers do this when there's already a pause button: SPACE BAR,
so I had to find constraints in the pose option which was easy
but it didnt shrink, just retained it's size, length is the only one changed
btw move tool is broken in pose mode, only pose mode
in pose mode, it rotates the part rather than move it. Same for using the tool rather than a shortcut key
