    Even stock, that's alot smoother than my 5.3 Envoy .throttle body. I imagine I'll see slightly more improvement. I'm planning to thin down the blade-holder-whatchamacallit except where the screws go, if I can. I also have a fatter 'lip' on the intake side edge that can be safely opened up a little more.

    just did this today, and i can't thank you enough for the fair warning about getting that throttle plate back in.
    i figured out a way to hold that thing open; i took an allen key small enough to fit (one with a 90° bend) and stuck it in the screw hole about halfway through; deep enough to hold but not deep enough to interfere with sticking the throttle plate in. the plate went in without much of a fight and that was all because i went into it prepared.
    my car's only got half the cylinders, so eking out all the throttle response i can is a top priority if i want the car to at least feel like fun, and my newly polished throttle body has a very sharp response now.

    Is there a little 'step' or 'lip' in there where the disc rests upon to be concerned about ? Or is it just some models and doesn't matter ? Does all that have to be air tight in order to avoid a bump ( or problem) in the computer or air flow ? It looks like you took a bit off of that .

    wonder where a good place to send my ls2 throttle body would be? i am so afraid to get an overported one and having to spend $400 on a new one since the ls2 ones are outrageous to buy new

    On the front side, maybe you'll see a measureable improvement but on the manifold side I dont see how there can be flow improvement.
    Its only as big as the throttle blade.
