    Have a larger TB on my Accord but i do notice the lack of velocity compared to stock. Just got done porting and polishing the stock one(it too had the lip) cant wait to feel the difference.

    First, your work looks very nice. Now my question, it’s the engineer in me, when dealing with the butterfly plate you ground off the excess material including the mount screw tips. Did you reflair the screw tips or put some blue locktite on the screws so they would not back out?
    Again great job!

    Would doing this increase hp in a Gsxr 1000? And would I need to tune the bike after doing this?

      Been 3years but no you don’t need a tune

    Why do stock throttle bodies come with that lip. On my BMW 330i 2001there is a lip there as well on the throttle body

      I'm not really sure. I've focused on learning how to make things faster, I've never been on the original design side. It seems like there would be some reason. But who knows?

      Fuel efficiency? Performance guys go to bigger TB. Or port an polish

  • @rev9fan1
    @rev9fan1 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    are you sure you don't want it polished, that though was with port injection engines to turbulate the air to mix with the fuel better, but these are direct injection so I don't think that thought process works. Why didn't you knife edge the throttle plate?

    • @wfofz1
      @wfofz1  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      roughened surfaces flow better regardless of injection type.
      didn't knife edge blade so that at idle airflow is not altered.

      John Boston I thought only a "golf ball" textures surface is the best?

    • @wfofz1
      @wfofz1  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Golf ball is a common example given for this phenomena (rough flowing better than smooth).
      The effect is roughly the same.

    • @JohnBoulding
      @JohnBoulding 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      John Boston that only applies near the cylinder runners, to better mix A/F. You want smooth surfaces pre/plenum to increase velocity. Once the air makes it to the actual manifold, the rough surface comes into play.

      the debate rages on. if only someone would test this and settle it.

    When you half shaft, you do it on the front side. Doing it on the backside doesn't give much benefit.
    Porting the backside without tuning for it, Makes it run funky.

      It was my first time half shafting a car t-body. I've since realized I did it wrong. Thanks!

      @@wfofz1 on an ecotec V6 ecotec V6 ecotec V6 3.8 litre, the back needs porting. Its got an oval shape. If you compare to a normal TB? These ecotec V6 TB are mega restrictive.

    Did you have any issues with the relearn?

    • @wfofz1
      @wfofz1  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      First couple of start ups, if you'd stab the throttle it would suck a little air before the rpm's would rise. Nothing real dramatic.
      Runs great now!

      @@wfofz1 It boosted low end torque really well for my car. about +10NM increased in torque in range 1500-3500 RPM and declines slowly till 6500 RPM, so only 2 HP gain on peak. Low RPM power is really noticeable.

  • @biggyles9550

    How much hp add 2hp?

    • @finestoffreedom3170
      @finestoffreedom3170 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Horse power is hard measure with a single number like yeah maybe 2 hp gained at the top of rpm’s
      You’ll see it helps and all adds up 😊
