Cooked ribeye chicken legs on my wood fire. My wife loves the flavor. Going to do the beef roast today. Good job. You’re my only go to channel for the wood fire. Oh! The asparagus was amazing as well.
Awesome! Thanks!!
BTW CJ: I cut off 1/3 or 1/4 of a beer can and use that with beer to keep moist - does a good job and takes up less space
Great idea!
I smoked and braised a chuck roast last weekend for shredded beef, I got a two pack so I’ll have to do the next one up like this
Looked great brother! Glad to see you got a paying sponsor, keep on growing and keep having fun! Cheers
Hey thanks much! Welcome to the Crew!
My wife won a Ninja Woodfire Pro XL can't wait to try some of your recipes. I'm a Tennessee boy using a Big Green Egg so this will have to impress!
Excellent....Thank You!
I tried this on my ninja woodfire grill. Came out really good. Thank you for sharing this. So much cheaper than a brisket. You rock 🔥
Hey thanks! Appreciate it!
An awesome cook. The chuck roast looks amazing. Cheers, CJ! 👍🏻👍🏻✌️
Cheers brother!
Hey CJ great video! I saw this and I had to try it! I switched it up and used a small cake pan lightly topped with foil and some consume instead wrapping. I kept feeding the woodfire pellets for the whole cook which was about 4.5 hours. I actually got a little smoke ring to show up and the meat was tender and delicious! Thanks!
Right on! Maybe next time I’ll add more pellets. Thanks!
I got myself the wood fire grill for Christmas. I am enjoying g your videos immensely!
Thank you!!
Excellent, CJ!! I love working with chuck, great bang for the buck!
Thanks brother
never ceases to amaze me, nice one brother 🇬🇧 🇺🇸
Cheers bro!
Looks really good brother CJ have a great week 👍
Thanks Nate!
Thanks as always CJ. Got a chuck roast this weekend to try this. 👍
Right on!
I thinking about trying this with a top round
Give it a go.
I was given the out door smoker not the xl but i didn't get any accessories so i have to order the grill and everything else cant wait to use
It’s a fun little cooker
Off topic, but you've given me the idea of using smoked water for cocktail ice🤔😊
Definitely! Smokey old fashioned.
Love this guys recipes. Makes it easy to follow
Thank you!!
I have been looking for an alternative to a brisket, thank you. Brisket is getting super-expensive nowadays!
Definitely!
What was the cooking time for the chuck roast. Thanks
One of my favorite dishes to make
Yep yep!
CJ, that hunk of meat looks really good. I will need to give this a try
Thanks!!
I love to smoke a chuck roast! This looks delicious!
Thanks Earl!
That looks delicious. I love your channel. You totally rock!
Thank you!!
Delicious! Love your ninja woodfire videos!
Thank you!!
Mmmmmmmm, That look really delicious, I've always used the slow cooker for chuck but I think I'll give the woodfire grill a try. Take care and stay safe in the I.E. brother.
Thanks brother!
Poor man’s brisket! That looks delicious CJ! So tender and juicy too. On my to smoke list! Cheers brother!
Thanks brother!
Just did poor man's burnt ends today. Will try this next time.
Right on!
We put pots of water in our smoker makes it crispy and fall off the bone good idea
Thanks!
Great idea! Nice!!!
Thanks!
Looks amazing CJ! That definitely turned out fantastic. # Moist 😂. Cheer brother 🥃
Thanks brother! Appreciate it
This channel keeps me hungry 😋
Thank you!!
Cj, you almost got me sold on those Dalstrong knives. I'm curious how you keep them sharp.
I use a honing steel and a drag through knife sharpener. I don’t have the time or patience to use wet stones. Lol
CJ, Have you tried doing any sides while you are doing the meat?...potatoes, onions, carrots, mac'n cheese, etc.
I did a post roast with veggies for a video and a prime rib with baked potatoes, but for the most part I’m just cooking one main item. Especially for videos.
that looks spectacular and delicious
Thank you!!
thanks for the information
C.J. Excuse my ignorance but I am new to this world of grills, I wanted to know if you only add pellets once during this barbecue or do you add
All good. Usually I only add one. But if I get a big cut of meet, sometimes I’ll throw a second scoop in.
What about using an injector instead of pouring over when wrapping?
This is amazing!!!!!!!!!
Thank you!!
Good shit my G keep up the good work respect the get down
Thanks brother
I'm going to make this today. I bought a can of Campbell's beef consomme to use. Do I want to leave it full strength when I pour it in the foil or should I dilute it?
CJ bringing them working man recipes
Yep yep!
Tenderiffic chunk of beef! 🤤😋🍻
Thank you!!
how much did this chuck roast weigh?
If I dont have beef stock, can I use the drippings mixed with some of the smokey water?
Also, I have about 20min on hour 2, and temp so far is 172°F, is that about right?
Yeah you can use any liquid that you like.
Hey brother how many hoppers you fill. Also, do you cook on bake
Just one cup usually. And keep it on the smoker setting, it’ll still cook the food, just once the pellets burn out you’re not getting more smoke. But most people find one cups worth of smoke works great.
Looks awesome man! How long was the whole cook and did you have to refill the pellets at any point? Thanks
I think it was 3-4 hours, and only did one round of pellets.
Gotcha thanks!
😊delicious my mouth is watering 😅
Thank you!!
CJ. What'd ya think of using the water pan? The others didn't think it was necessary/make a difference when i posted this Q in the FB Woodfire page.
Im about to smoke a tritip brisket style. I might just try the pan if i have space.
I don’t think it did much of anything. Probably give it another try to just make sure. But I don’t think it made a difference.
CJ I have a question, the temperature values you use in your recipes are in degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit.
He speaks in Fahrenheit, but also puts the Celcius temps on the screen. In older videos it's only Fahrenheit.
When I’m filming I talk using Fahrenheit. I try to throw the Celsius on the screen. Also all my cookbooks have both options listed.
thanks for the information
Hey CJ I watched this video about 7 times and cooked on a pelet smoker. I used the same cook temp and probe temps. Though it came out juicy with flavor it was still very tough. Any thoughts on how I could avoid this next time?
Try to drop the temp 25 degrees and cook it a little long. Even if it hits the internal, give it a little longer.
just curious how long did this take ya CJ? it does look good though
3.5 hours to cook and 1 hour rest. Thanks!
Have you ever smoked beef tongue?
No sorry I haven’t
I like your channel dope recipes 👌🏾 but yo you using better help they ain't nothing but AI's taking over humans jobs hope you not using their recipes 🤣✌🏾💯🤪
😂😂. Thanks!
