What you say about the "inner circle" of the LCS using their influence over Riot to bend the rules in their favour is very interesting. It instantly reminded me of other sports where the same sort of corruption (that's fundamentally what it is) is taking place. For example, in Formula 1, the big teams like Ferrari or Mercedes have a great deal of influence over FIA and make sure that new regulations favour them. In football (soccer), the big teams like Real Madrid, Juventus, Barcelona etc. have pressured UEFA multiple times in the past into making the international competitions more favourable for them and less favourable for smaller teams from smaller countries (more spots for the big leagues and fewer spots for the small leagues, Champions League prize pool being way bigger than the Europa League, making the poaching of young talent easier for them etc.), therefore cementing the advantage they already have. In skiing, the Austrian skiing federation (ÖSV) is the biggest and most professional organization (not surprising as skiing is the Austrian national sport and nowhere else are people as interested in watching competitive skiing, so it's where the money is at), their teams have dominated in a ridiculous fashion over a long period of time (with ridiculous results like the top 6 spots at a downhill race all going to Austrian skiers), and their strong ties with the international skiing federation (FIS) enable them to bend the rules in their favour to keep it that way. I think this naturally happens anywhere people have any sort of power due to the nature of the human psyche - always wanting to expand and ensure one's own (organisation's) survival. I don't think this is going to change unless the people involved develop a higher consciousness and moral standards, which would make them choose not to engage in corrupt behaviour even though it would benefit them.
Very true! That's where third party commissions are supposed to come into play; however, even then you still get corruption within those commissions if there isn't enough transparency and public oversight (look at boxing). Overall I do not see this getting any better for the LoL scene, only worse. Everything in the scene is insular to Riot and there is no real public or third party oversight at all.
@@7andaswitchblade I agree with everything you said. Arguably, it's even worse with LoL than other professional sports because of the way Riot treats the game, wanting to have total control over everything with zero transparency and third party control, and there is no reason to believe this will change any time soon. It's a shame that this company is led by particularly selfish and low consciousness individuals because the game really suffers for it. The perfect example to highlight this is the Tryndamere Elo boosting incident. That truly was the pinnacle of hypocrisy, deception and corruption.
My apologies for missing this stream T__T I was with my parents and we were able to grab a bowl of pho from my old city ^__^ It felt good to see how the pandemic did not destroy us too badly T-T I still feel extremely grateful and my prayers go out to the world for what is going on, may the fights stick to our keys and not to the clothes of our clothes and loved ones TT
48:05 If the ping is high in solo queue however, how can you expect new talent to develop? New players grinding the high elo ladder would not develop the same fundamental skills they would in other region’s solo queue.
Brandon Sanderson series "the Stormlight Archive" contains a lot of character development and world building, i cant realy comment on the language. English isnt my main language but it seems pretty vivid to me. The books are realy long and demands a lot of commitment tough.
In that topic about riot being a god in their game. What is wrong with that? I would do the same sht. Basically you are just piggybacking in the game that I created, what gives you the right to have the leverage against me? If my game falls and everything comes with it you can just jump ship and start over in a another game but me? I going down with it. @@akshatsaxena4137 What partnership? Everyone can be a caster or a esports journalist. You can just be like a travis gafford who just licks the butts of game devs and be popular. @@Prince_mt12 costreaming is entirely different to a normal broadcast, so idk why you'd even make the comparison. My Dad got me to read Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy when I was a kid, I loved it
I'm only 15 minutes into the podcast and this comment seems extremely out of context... But it's such a good movie!!
Deficio: I dont believe swapping players is a good thing.

Deficio: I think academy systems are crucial.

Wait I havent watched this through yet but did the NA orgs say they want to get rid of academy??!? when did this happen wtf?

This is broadly what unions and collective bargaining are designed to combat.
More Deficio please! Could listen to him forever!
I heard it was European broadcasting rights laws that prevent LEC talent from interacting with NA broadcasts
Deficio's Misfits: Reborn sounds like a cheesy school anime or a bad Ubisoft game KEKW
Bruh Empyre saying "the bad teams" when Monte mentions CLG is kind of hilarious after their game in week 3
For scifi, read the three body problem trilogy. It's so fucking good.
deficio lookin sharp as hell
just say he’s hot
Thanks for shaping the industry and critical opinions
Thorin and Monte should read Brandon Sanderson, in particular his Stormlight series. Either that or Berserk

@Evan it was a day ^__^
Thorin is like CS:GO’s Asmondgold. They both use LOTR as an analogy
What are some non-fictions that you recently enjoyed?
Gotta love "Brian Sanderson"
That one hurt my soul
My favorite team was Moscow 5 as they played nunu as support before it was cool.
I would recommend the fantasy novel series, "The Belgariad," by David Eddings.
What company makes proview?
what about Morganas ult to show Akali in her shroud? The champ is still strong too
Fantasy book to recommend:
"Mythos" by Stephen Fry
And the Bible.
Edgy woke atheist comment bro.
Woke. Best league content period.
Lmfao at Monte going "The Two Towers is one of the worst books I have ever read"', definitely cementing himself as a clown at least, that's something!
Impact doesnt brake. I guess he might not read the threads tough.

Read some Joe Abercrombie or Nicholas Eames!
Empyre felt a little stiff, but I guess that's kinda the type of person in that job.

Just ask Dortmund for ridiculous for Haaland.
Liverpool: hey Dortmund would you like 100mil and our striker for Haaland?
Dortmund: No😑
