    I could listen them forever.
    And it's so random bcz before today, I didn't know about the these people and neither the channel. Just stumbled upon it out of nowhere.

    I have to say, this video did add value to my life.

    2:16 Good reply, but this is where Marx's Theory of Alienation comes in when the ruling class, has all the wealth AND all the labor, the laborer, the proletariat, the class who makes money through not ownership, but solely through selling their labor is alienated from society altogether. The incentive a Capitalist to pay wages has has come to an end, the Capitalists have the all wealth, created by Capital by itself. This is when we enjoy the things human about ourselves, under Socialism, this is when we have abolished work and can enjoy the things human about ourselves, whatever we desire as the pressure of work no longer exists since work itself has been abolished, as Marx puts it;
    _---while in communist society, where nobody has one exclusive sphere of activity but each can become accomplished in any branch he wishes, society regulates the general production and thus makes it possible for me to do one thing today and another tomorrow, _*_to hunt in the morning, fish in the afternoon, rear cattle in the evening, criticise after dinner, just as I have a mind, without ever becoming hunter, fisherman, herdsman or critic_*_ .”_

Saturday night well spent . thanks for the interesting questions too. P.S. coal is already not profitable its not environment india is switching to renewable but solar in india is way cheaper than coal. gov buys electricity from adani solar for 3.10rs inr i.e. 6.50 pakistani rupee. also it will bring millions green job

    The problem with worker cooperatives is that they operate under a Market economy. You eliminate the boss because he's the big baddy but the worker becomes his own boss, exploiting his own labor to maximize profits, the element of competition exists, while your business is democratically managed by 10 of your co-workers, the other worker cooperative down the street can put you out of business. Aside from this obvious Capitalist contradiction, you haven't abolished private property, your worker cooperative is OWNED by 10 co-workers, while the idea is society collectively owning the means of production and investing for long-term gain, while the market economy will always incentivize short term gain and profit. The idea behind Leninist thought was, which I'm very disappointed about your view on since you have done lectures on Lenin's legacy on the Muqadimmah channel to make a WORKERS' State, which puts the workers' needs first and foremost. Lenin saw the state as an institution of oppression, but its institutions were constructed very smartly, to keep the Proletariat suppressed no matter what, the emphasis on overthrowing the state and building a new one is to utilize those tools against the very people who created it, it's the most efficient way to gain power. The withering away of the State is a key element of Leninism.
    _The theory of the Communists may be summed up in the single sentence: Abolition of private property_

    I have read and learnt from Marxism in Pakistan which always starts from a division of labor into manual and mental labor. They don't say that a TH-camr is not a laborer. In fact, if someone owns TH-cam (or any corporations) then he is capitalist and if someone doesn't own it, he is a laborer. I didn't get his point. It is important to know the difference bewteen liberal marxism and original marxism.

    1. If the argument is that people understand their own interests and PMLN and PPP are popular because the people understand they have their interests at heart, then TLP must also be popular for the same reason.
    2. If leftists want to support the most democratic party at the moment, they should support JI... since it's the only mainstream party that actually has democratic selection of leadership is isn't just a cult of personality.

The face reveal after the third mask would be the Bhraminical Mindset which dominated this land for 5000 years, so even blaming colonialism is not sufficient. Sheher de loog te zaalim seege, saanu zayada maran da shauk si. Our dirt baggage is 5000 years old gora phir bhi 200 saal baad sharm kha kar chala gaya tha.

      Absolutely! I am glad you said this. There is a lot of fascination with the pre-colonial among many sections of Pakistani/Indian intelligentsia as a result of which the colonial encounter becomes the only bogey that needs to be critiqued and deconstructed. The varna/jati system predates colonialism and is surely one of the most vicious and inhumane systems of social stratification ever invented by human beings. The colonial encounter is a much more complex phenomenon and I think it would be presumptive to reduce it just divide and rule. Arundhati Roy has spoken and written about some of the complexities lithub.com/what-is-the-morally-appropriate-language-in-which-to-think-and-write/

    At around 1:24 when you guys are discussing HnM and all that for Bangladeshi textiles, you have to keep in mind that these companies stay in Bangladesh because of the very low minimum wage that BD govt has kept for years. Most garment workers in Bangladesh are women and live in extreme poverty with starvation. Whereas the CEO of HnM and other brands are multi millionaires or billionaires. Isn't that sad?

    • @ajum89
      @ajum89 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ThePakistanExperience Yes he does mention Rana Plaza and other exploitations. But I was pointing more to his argument on why companies choose Bangladesh, and one reason is the low minimum wage. Of course there are other factors that he mentioned such as less regulations, quick shipments etc. Sorry I am very anti HnM type companies tou I make sure to write about their exploitations whenever I can. I know there was a lot to discuss otherwise the guest would have delved into the details of global capitalist exploitation.

      @mushtaqbilal2543 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ajum89 I think the point that is being made here is a comparative one within a capitalist framework. Of course, Prof. Azhar does not argue in favor of capitalism or exploitation of Bangladeshi factory workers. His point is why Bangladesh has been able to increase its textile exports and Pakistan hasn't been. Despite the fact that these workers are paid very less wages, the important fact to consider is that Bangladeshi women have joined the labor force but the same thing has not happened in Pakistan.

    • @ajum89
      @ajum89 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mushtaqbilal2543 I get the argument on the industry setup which Pakistan lacks. But as for the Bangladeshi women, did they have a choice to join or leave the labor force, especially when it is paying them poverty wages? I know I am digressing from the main point. I just am of the opinion that companies like HnM and lot choose Bangladesh for reduced production cost, which are largely due to poverty wages (even when compared to other poor countries). Of course there are other factors and I agree with Prof that the ease of doing business exists in BD unlike Pakistan.

    • @mushtaqbilal2543

      @@ajum89 I can't comment on if and what kind of choice Bangladeshi women had in choosing employment but women getting paid for their work is qualitatively different from unpaid house work. If they get good wages working then they could hire extra help at home to ease the burden. I am aware that paid and unpaid work is qualitatively different. But this point you brought up that women still work in the factories in BD is a whole research project in itself, probably very unique to BD textile and garment factories.

    Shahram ne jo 1857 ke baad angrezon ki divide and rule policy aur martial races ke concept ka origin bataya usse hum class 8 aur fir class 10 mein padhte hain. It was after 1857 that cantonment were created. One point tht he missed was the fact that before 1857 it was company Raj and after that it was British raj.

    Uzair younas is right to call it the Marxist experience.😂😂 But i don't think thats your fault specifically. Marxism is very much in vouge among the intellectuals in universities not only in Pakistan, but around the world, so it's difficult finding people willing to present the other narrative. Bring back some of the centrists and moderate left leaning types you've had previously, to balance it out a bit.

    For God’s sake Shehzad this type of conversation happens on TV and we run away to get an alternative view on podcasts. Even with stark differences I listen to you. You need to grow out of this needless BS 10-20 questions manufactured by TV. You wasted this podcast, it could have been so so much better like the one you had with Tariq Ali shb. An utter waste of time.
