In this episode of The Ranveer Show, we welcome Tilak Devasher, an author, and a retired Special Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat of the Government of India. He is currently serving as a National Security Advisory Board (NSAB) member and a consultant for Vivekanand International Foundation. He is the author of three widely known books based on Pakistan; ‘Pakistan: Courting the Abyss’ (December 2016), ‘Pakistan: At the Helm’ (July 2018), and ‘Pakistan: The Balochistan Conundrum’ (July 2019).
Today, Tilak Devasher decodes Pakistan’s current situation and also sheds light on what happened during the partition of India & Pakistan. He talks about the history of Pakistan, the real story behind the India & Pakistan Partitions, his honest opinion on present-day India, and what could have been different if the partition didn’t take place. He further dwells upon Muhammad Ali Jinnah and how he led to the partition. Along with that, Tilak sir talked about the present scenario of Pakistan and what is the situation of non-Muslims in Pakistan.

civil wars ultimately come down to who is funding the factions. right now, the US and Chinese influence in Pakistan is what one has to look out for. India is still not economically strong enough to finance a split in pakistan.

3. Put its own naval fleet before Indian ships to block the US in the Indian Ocean
4. Chased the British fleet to Madagascar.
This is in addition to the very difficult position pakistan had managing two parts of itself on either side of india. The cultural similarity and "critical mass" @0:52 of bengalis made a huge difference too. The winter stopped china its tracks too.
If India want to split up what's left of pakistan, they have to do it alone, because pakistan plays a role for both China and the US, and Russia is no longer a very relevant factor here. I don't think India is financially or even militarily strong enough to do it yet considering the geopolitical consequences that will follow.
India's best hope is that China and the US tear up pakistan. Palki Sharma recently hinted at such outcome without naming any country.

@muhmmaadwaab if you are from Balochistan then how come you’re so blind that you can’t see the brutality of Pokistan on Baloch nation. More than thousands people gone missing, lot of mutilated bodies are found, mass graves are found in Balochistan. Who is to blame? Recently a young Baloch student was shot dead infront of his mother, she cried her lungs out, who to blame? Since 1947 Pokistan got separated and since then government done nothing.
Now come to this point, Balochistan is geographically largest province and it has got several resources such as Methane, gold, Uranium and other resources. Pokistan have done nothing except only looting the resources. CPEC is a joke, local of Gawadar people are still thriving for basic necessities.
Yes, we do need intervention from other countries to help us out cause Pokistan is committing a genocide of Baloch people.
I used to listen to this guy and read his articles. But later realised that he is a retired Indian bureaucrat who has never lived/worked in Pakistan. All his knowledge is from 3rd party sources and probably from other publicly available information.
But like many retired civil servants, he started writing books and Pakistan seems like a juicy topic to write about.
There were many analysts during the cold war, both from the Western bloc and the iron curtain countries who never lived in each others countries but were excellent in analysing the affairs of each others countries. One does not have to physically live in a country to be a credible analyst. If that was true, most of the intelligence agencies in the world would be without a job since a large proportion of analysts are in their home stations. He has served in J&K, and retired as a special secretary in Cabinet Secretariat, a very senior position. He's a member of the PMs National Security Advisory Board. Most of his analysis is spot on and I have been following him for over 10 years, long before the advent of TH-cam channels and podcasts.
@lithium123860 Just like you mentioned about the Cold War. Many famous analysts never predicted the collapse of the Soviet Union. I believe Mr. Devasher tends to exaggerate the socio-economic issues in Pakistan. Anyone who has Pakistani friends can have a more candid understanding of the ground realities of the country.
@@nemokat09 You are giving a opinion based on the hypothesis that an analyst needs to be physically present in the subject state in order to be a effective analyst. All major spy agencies whether CIA, RAW, Mossad, erstwhile KGB had analysts sitting in their respective home stations. What you believe and what are facts are not correlated. While some analysts may not have predicted the collapse of Soviet Union, there were many who did predict the eventual collapse of Soviet Union. The Soviet - Afghan war broke the camels back and was the final nail in the coffin which brought down the Soviet economy like a deck of cards. This is all historically documented. If you believe Mr Devasher is exaggeerating, please specify which part of his analysis is exaggeration. On the contrary, most of his analysis is spot on. And he has the credentials to back it up. He's part of the current national security dispensation for good reason. I rest my case.

Tilak Daveshar is an expert on Pakistan. But the main problem is that Pakistan will never get on its feet as what one see today
Pakistans problem has always been politics, if they get that in control, pak cud become really powerful, plus pak has a lot of allies, the rich Arab states, china and United States who both want influence in pak, but pak honestly should become allies with India, it would help both countries

Man needs to know around 50 million Pashtuns are Pakistanis and the 10 million Pashtuns are Afghani and half of them already live in Pakistan. Pakistan will never have any problem with Afghanistan other than little cross-border fights but it will get solved too. Same scenario like Khalistan

India can keep anything to the east of attak. we don't care if Sindh and Punjab are taken by India or become independent. the only problem with India we have is that they claim Gilgit and Baltistan as part of Kashmir and therefore part of India. we don't claim the eastern part of Kashmir like the western part is part of Afghanistan as the ancient border.

The question shouldn't be about pakistan, it happens to be our neighbouring country, though their internal happenings and conflict will have some repercussions but they aren't going to be seismic by any means.

Civil war in Pakistan is the only solution to bring the country back to normal , progress and restoration of democracy to survive and develop robustly....
Interesting, but millions of Pakistanis are Pashtuns and millions more who fled the Soviet war and millions who fled the recent war on terror as refugees to Pakistan have Pakistani citizenship, they decided to stay in Pakistan rather than to return to Afghanistan, Pakistan is their watan and they will fight for it even until death and not a single citizen of Pakistan questions their loyalty. Every Pakistani is a victim of corruption and undeniably the Baloch and Sidhi have suffered the worst and there is hate there's no denying that but it's not for Pakistan or it's people it's for the corrupt individuals in power responsible for their dire situation of inequality, injustice and discrimination.

Pakistan is destined to break up into pieces,especially when the citizens have no say of there destiny unlike India there is no autonomy of the provinces , an info most of the hydropower that runs even Islamabad is produced in khyber Pakhtunkhwa,from river Kabul and river Sindh (yes it passes through kpk first) but the federal treasury has not paid the province for decades, every new assembly formed in kpk has demanded this money for projects in the province but it gets trickle of the loan amount. Pashtuns are also at the end of tether with Punjabistan.

Majority pashtuns see Afghan pashtuns as there vrothers on the other side yes but do they feel they are not Pakistani is absolutely wrong
In faisalabad there are several pashtun families from different parts of Pakistan who come here in winter as the weather is pretty cool in faisalabad in winter then they rush towards there previous homes when the summer comes
So it is pretty good for the economy of Punjab as they rent homes and boost the economy while making themselves grow, thrive and trade
Now the pashtuns who trade and earn and who support there families on the basis of tourism are dependent on Sindh and Punjab espacially for tourists
