The unreliability from turbos comes from the added mechanical parts and the increased oil consumption to lubricate them. Indeed, adding them together, it is natural to assume that this would decrease reliability - more moving parts = more points of failure, after all, right? Problem is, modern turbos, especially for Japanese cars, aren't the same as old turbos. They spool up much faster and nearly eliminate the turbo lag with either clever construction or additional gadget wizardry, and aren't reportedly *that* much more unreliable.
Also the advantage for superchargers in racing isn't quite as one-sided as you made it out to be. Obviously, coming out of corners, the driver would keep the engine revs rather high to exploit the high power coming out of turns, and this is the norm for any engine, whether N/A, turbo or supercharged. In fact, I'd wager that with good driving technique and gearing, turbo cars can just as easily smoke supercharged cars out of corners.
[constant edits while watching the video]
The Zenvo's problem was from both the fuel system and the cooling system causing a fire. While boosting can increase temperatures significantly, on its own it doesn't contribute to reliability - remember, an engine needs more than just a set of pistons to work properly, and any small problems can cascade into bigger problems.
I still enjoy your content, Bladed, but this one comes just a little bit biased. You're not wrong in explaining most of this stuff, just a bit exaggerated :P

One of the few Twin Charged mass produced vehicles was the VW Scirocco 1.4TSI (158BHP). Same 1.4l engine as the regular TSI found in many other VAG models but they added a magnetic supercharger to improve power at low RPMs and overall efficiency. VW decides to put-off the twin-charging model claiming it added $100 of extra cost per unit, and made a significant impact on the firm's financial situation.

It's the technology put into new turbochargers that helps eliminate some of the problems that the older ones had by putting in much lighter and better components like compressor wheels, better and more efficient materials for the exducer to hold heat more efficiently and inducer to flow more cool air into the turbo to help it spool faster and easier, and stuff like that.. It's more than just big or small man... Besides, sometimes small turbos can be worse than bigger ones as they can choke the up top engine power because they run out of steam quicker than bigger ones which leave more room to be pushed further

So I like the video, as always.
I would like to point of some nuances that you probably didn't want to get into due to time restraints lol.
First, speaking directly from 'off the lot' vehicles that were given to the consumer as forced induction, the difference between a supercharger and turbocharger differs from each car, and really doesn't hold any difference in weight to reliability. A great example of this would be Subaru and their 'track record' on their Naturally Aspirated 2.5L. This being said, the technology isn't new on either end, and in 2019, a lot of these kinks have been worked out to create far more reliability from forced induction vehicles off the lot.
Turbo charged gas mileage differs upon the tune, and a great example of this is the newer Civics and Civic SIs, where they can get up to 40MPG even while spirited driving (this is factory). Likewise, modified tunes and vehicles will certainly decrease in MPG since usually a 'tune' is designed for peak performance, not peak efficiency. Ergo: If you are modifying your car and getting it tuned, you usually are going to suffer on the MPG side when spirited driving...regardless of the aspiration -- unless your engine just naturally is efficient lol.
Regarding reliability specifically of turbo vehicles. Turbo vehicles from a manufacture are as reliable as the roots on the Z06. The manufacture determines how reliable it will be..not just the aspiration lol.
Supercharging comes with various draw backs, especially roots. Linear power is a benefit to some, but to those who want 'spirited driving', it kind of falls short compared to a centrifugal. Likewise, a centrifugal still has a latency since it uses, essentially, a compressor housing to spool air.
I'm not even going to debate air temps, since this in itself is an issue with any forced induction.
Summed up: From factory, both are sufficient and usually, unless the manufacture is actually horrible, the 'maintenance' isn't going to be much different than owning an N/A vehicle. The issues "scotty kilmer" (lol) has with this is that he somehow believes that "these things are expensive", in regards to the cost of a turbo. I'd argue yes and no, but it's not a maintenance cost. It's like a water pump. I had a 2001 Mercury Cougar for 6 years when I turned 16 and I put 80,000 miles on that thing, totaling to 140,000. Never in it's life did it need a new water pump. It's ending was that it literally lost compression so bad over the years of beating the piss out of it. My point with this story: It's not a "common thing" to need items that rarely fail. And EVEN if you did need an item that usually doesn't fail, water pump or turbocharger, it's going to cost you. Things aren't cheap...especially in a car. To deter people because "Well the cost can be expensive" is like outrageous.
Let's talk aftermarket before twin charging: Aftermarket, anytime you have a naturally aspirated engine, you will run into LOTS of issues bringing the car to forced induction, regardless if it's turbo/twin turbo or supercharged (roots or cent). The easier install, if you're doing it yourself, is clearly supercharger since it requires no work to the exhaust, and minimal work to the intakes -- it requires pulleys and even maybe the intake manifold/plenum. All of the work should include injectors, fuel pump (possibly rails) and maybe even an oil cooler. Generally speaking, it's not just 'drop in one and you'll be fine', it's "Upgrade a few components to accommodate for the change in induction". There are some vehicles you can get away with not changing any fuel system (or any part) and be perfectly fine up to a certain power range, however it's "good practice" to change these. As far as issues are concerned, turbos have the highest risk, as you have exhaust leaks, oil leaks, and even boost leaks to now worry about. The supercharger, on the other hand, would only have oil leaks and boost leaks..both of which are easier to fix than an exhaust leak -- which could require literally reassembly or even, dare i say, re-welding. Power bands differ, and this is where lots don't understand. If you have a small engine, you're fucking yourself over if you 'go supercharger' because you're making your little ass displacement engine work it's ass off to get power, but if you go turbo, even though you have 'more headache', you will achieve far greater efficient power and not have 15MPG. I once knew a "supercharged civic SI" that made 290whp...compared to an N/A 210whp. Yes, it made a bit more power, but he got like 12-15MPG...when cruising, not even spirited (he was an older gentlemen). Small displacement = turbo. Large displacement = whatever you desire.
Reliability comes down to quality, install, and maintenance. The welding done on the exhaust side of the turbo system, along with the hardware and installation of the pieces really determines how well those components will last. The same can be said with a supercharger, however, since it's far less parts you are less likely to be affected by this. As far as engine reliability, the TUNE is what matters here. As long as you go to a professional shop with knowledge and skill to get your car dynotuned properly and to a 'safe' extent (specifying with the tuner), your cars reliability really depends on the safe limits if it's stock internals. Every car is different. Assume you upgrade those internals and you are with a forged block, then again -- the tuner makes the reliability here, assuming all else is right.
Turbos have more parts, so it's imperative that the turbos have properly placed Waste Gates. Summed up: A turbo is set to hit a specified amount of boost, say it's 11PSI. In order for you to 'not' go over this limit, a 'waste gate' is required. This simple mechanism is spring loaded, and at 11PSI, it opens up a second valve which disperses any gas past 11PSI out this flap. This ultimately stops you from going 'over' the 11PSI mark. There are literal requirements for placement that SO many "turbo kit" creators ignore because they are "limited with constraints", but I'd argue they just aren't that brilliant or unable to think outside of a damn box. As long as these are angled at a 45 degree angle, of effectively in the best flow method of exhaust gases to pass, then your turbo car shouldn't overboost, yielding that threat of "overboost and boom" null. I've personally noticed a few dozen Instagram 'cars' i liked that their engines 'overboosted hit 25psi when it only was supposed to hit 22' because a failed part of their system -- due to the creators mishap and judgement call. However, when you look at a drag car or any vehicle that is 'custom created turbo kit', they usually don't have an issue with overboost because it's thought of while designing this. I digress, moving forward. This isn't something you worry about with Supercharging, so this is ultimately the 'fail safe' as to reliability in product if you aren't savvy.
Twin charging, the awesomeness of that. Generally, I'd argue it's not done a lot due to the total cost verses benefit. You aren't really gaining any power, and with modern turbo efficiency, you aren't really benefiting from it. Add this to the amount of fuel wasted and the horrible economy of the car, and you have an awesome sounding gas guzzling fiend that, without one of these methods, would probably drive the same. However, it sounds cool. SO if you want something awesome, mid mound twin-scroll turbo (properly routed runners for equal flow separate pulse), and then a centrifugal supercharger on the front...or roots. You will then have a sweet sounding car with sort of horrible gas mileage...but hey, it'll be unique lol. I don't think I heard of any blowing up..but I haven't researched them a lot. So I honestly haven't much a clue. I could imagine their equally as dangerous as just one, except you have to account for the increased intake and oil temps.
I think I touched on all of it. I probably am missing a couple points. Watermeth injection? It's good and lower intake temps. NOS? Not really needed, but people use wet shots usually for drag...but it's expensive and not really that useful -- unless you're attempting to accommodate turbo lag due to a larger turbo on a straight track. Oil coolers should be a thing, along with vented PVC (or catch cans).

Halleluja, someone actually names the child by its name, there is no twin turbo or by turbo, only sequential and parallel configurations.
Also, a turbocharged engine are actually used for enviromental reason, namely reduction of CO2 emmissions by reducing fuel consumption at roughtly the same or higher power level than a natural aspiration engines. That's why diesel engines are turbocharged, they need lean mixtures, therefor a lot of airflow and they need high combustion chamber pressure for self ignition and a turbocharger gives you this with the advantage of lower starting torque needed for the starter motor.
Also, you forgot to mention compound turbochargers, often found on WW2 bomber aircraft or Semi trucks. It basically is a turbochager bolted to the crankshaft (the compressor as well as the turbine wheel), basically to regain the exhaust energy directly.

Talking about the gas mileage of a turbo car, I just bought a Hyundai Kona with a 1.6T engine. The EPA mileage for the car on the highway is like 29. I can cruise on I-5 at 70-75mph and get a consistent 35+ mpg.

Fun fact: both the toyota mr2 and previera mini van came with supercharger options. Yes. Toyota made a supercharged mini van with 160ish hp. Doug de mouro reviewed one.

My 2012 Mitsubishi montero sport gls/v 4X2 has a sequential turbo setup since in the dash there is no turbo pressure knob because there is something that misubishi did to the exhaust pipe to the turbo turbine to help the turbo have consistent air flow in the turbine even at log RPM

I studied this, as I'm studying aeronautics, and, really, you cannot make a naturally aspirated engine if you plan to put it on an aircraft

The original turbos where in aircraft to counter the thinner air at high altitude. This would let you keep the power that you had at low altitude.
