@Raymond Carver What a great memory! I’m jealous. This album, “From the Cradle”, and the Robert Johnson album are my other favorites. Next would be his first solo album.
@Raymond Carver I had the same experience with his August album. I had met him in New Orleans at the start of that tour then saw him up front and center in Cali a month later. Needless to say I was hooked for life and Journeyman was the icing on the cake.
Phil Collins’ “I wish it would rain” with Eric Clapton on guitar is a pretty song. “Behind the mask” is another blues/pop song from EC.

Saw him during this tour in Indy...concert started with the piano intro from Pretending, all dark...the bang, spotlight on Clapton in a white linen suit with the opening riff - unbelievably spiritual moment.

Am I remembering incorrectly? Is that Darryl Hall on background vocals? This was right around when I graduated HS and this was the perfect message in what I really wanted from a relationship. So glad I finally found the right one.

❤ great reaction!! Also a good song from the same album is "Before you accuse me (take a look at yourself)" Eric does this song with Robert Cray on this album. Robert Cray has a cleaner guitar tone so you know its him and not Eric. Erics tone is clean but its got the slightest bit of overdrive to it. I hope you get a chance to check this one out its a blues song and in my opinion its a banger! Peace n blessings!- Daryl.

If I'm not mistaken , Phil Collins was the drummer . I know he was the drummer on one of his & producer . He did play for Clapton at Live Aide and other concerts he did .
