- Enjoy Alex's 2000 BMW M5 with one of the best sounding V8s! No mufflers and no cats. Oh and might I mention that this car almost has 400k miles and runs amazing!

As always, thank you for watching and stay tuned for plenty more exhaust videos! - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
This goes to show how strong these cars are, 400,000 miles and its still running well, its nice to see that some people actually take care of their cars.
My friend bought a 1998 528I that was tuned up and mileage showed 200k on dash, but when it was taken to bmw and inspected. It has 1 million KM. Still running
and yet most YT us comments be like "bmw is unreliable crap". well Steve, if you have a german engineered masterpiece, pushing more hp from a 5.0 than a ls from a 7.0 than maybe take good care of it instead passing the service check date by 4 years and 60.000miles
Nah, while I have no doubt most if not all engines from the 90s onwards are more than capable of reaching 1 million miles, I have to say that im almost certain those miles have been altered. A car in that condition at 400k is pretty much unheard of. Additionally people dont drive M cars that much, M cars are more of weekend toys.
In Germany we call that Stilllegung
Klaus Uwe hahaha

Why can’t everyone’s exhaust videos be like this? No stupid music, no BS shots of revving in your garage, just pure exhaust porn.
I agree, no music!
I hate having to fast forward for 45 seconds while someone walks up to their car lol
One of the best sounding v8s imo
Audi s5 4.2L FSI Straightpipe
C63 w204
I see you haven't heard ford mustang V8 sound
Maserati Granturismo and Jaguar F-Type SVR
THE best sounding V8 ever.
Because I have one too 👌🏻
The E39 remains the ‘coolest’ M5 imo 👍.
Almost 400k mi, and STILL hauling!!! SHEESH that thing sounds beastly!!!
Mines done about 240,000kms at 530hp... Barely any issues.
Nåti M that’s amazing I’d buy one but they’re so damn expensive
with proper maintanence, mileage is not important.
Legend has it that 200,000 of those miles are from doing donuts and burnouts
AHAHAHA
Damn that mileage...props on the maintenance bro
Adam Siburt Proper break-in is extremely crucial on the life expectancy on the motor. This is one clean and amazing car
@@tomasacevedo3932 so interesting about the topic of running in a brand new engine, would you recommend driving anew engine hard or gently when running in ,I've been told to drive very hard during run-in to allow the engine to always have maximum power once run-in.
Can anyone who is knowledgeable about engine run in please comment. Thanks
@@kenlee9874 Pretty sure your sarchastic but I'll explain to you about proper car break-in. When a car is brand new you don't drive it out of the lot redling the engine. In your owners manual(which anyone who purchases a brand new car should read) break in period is the restricted or lightly moderated operation of motor vechicle to be taken to avoid pushing the engine, braking hard, and high acceleration. All this steps should be followed to allow the mechanical components of the engine, brakes, and tires to adjust to normal driving conditions on the road and allow for maximum life expectancy. Think of it like stretching before running around the park. You want to stretch and warm you muscles before you start to excercise to avoid muscle pain and injury. Warm ups is important because you get the most results out of your workout. Same idea can be applied to a new car because most people who buy a brand new car isn't for point a to b; it's an investment that you're taking and with any investment you want to get the most out of it for many years. Regular maintenance and good driving habbits play the most important role in which a car will last a long time with fewer problems that will pop up. Watch ChrisFix on TH-cam for more explanation on break-in period if you still have more questions.
@@tomasacevedo3932 well said bud
Literally one of the best engines I’ve ever heard.
400k miles *J E S U S*
Mike Hunt that’s like a million miles for a Toyota
Randy is it for sale? 😁
"BMWs are cool but unreliable" is a myth propagated by their competititors, change my mind
Randy Jesus Christ its Jason Bourne
@@thatguy_apu true...my last M42 engine out of an E36,had 410000 km on it,and was just perfect...
those old v8's sound much better than the new ones nowadays !
iG W probably because they change the foreign order so the exhaust pulses are smother and evenly spread for better flow this changes the sound significantly so this gets rid of the V8 rumble
Naturally Aspirated engines ALWAYS sound better than forced induction especially Turbos.
Probably because of emissions regulations
That's because most V8s today (especially from BMW) are turbocharged, which is why they don't tend to have that naturally aspirated-like sound.
You shift like a boss!
I genuinely thought when he shifted into 2nd it was an smg bah lawd
1:26 that downshift 😍👂
The sound of that V8 gives me chills man
Favorite V8 sound of all time
Best M5 of all time. E60 fanboys hands down.
5l V8 sound all day
Its 4.9l V8 fucking normie
M5 30 yahre all the way!
Yeah, E39 with that 5.0L V10 would be doub engine swap
all e39s are epic. except maybe the diesels
Marci K. 530d is epic
One of the best BMW that has ever made ❤️❤️
Sound is totally intoxicating! No mistaking that wonderful V-8 sound!
Love seeing m5s do what they do best
High mileage BMWs motivate me to keep maintaining my vehicle.
Johnny Meza straight up time to keep the e92
Johnny Meza Me too.. my E63 has 80k miles and I was thinking it was getting high..
i got my e34, trust me its the best feeling to do so.
I'm keep watching this video over and over again
I will always love this car, this one sounds amazing
Sounds mean dude! Like the rear tire fitment
One of the few cars which sounds perfect with straight pipes and not just loud.
I love high mileage cars. Congrats.

Peugeot Power In Germany we say „Gott schütze und vor Sturm und Wind, und Autos die aus Frankreich sind“
@Peugeot Power atleast its better than a peugeot lol
@Peugeot Power Fell on your head as a kid?
@Peugeot Power "Peugeot" and "Power".

Leave the mileage, the looks and the sound aside. I drive and enjoy manual trans till today and this guy has to be given credit especially down shifting and the perfect rev matching!! Respect man.
400k miles. Scotty might have his head blown lmao
Sounds awesome!
Absolutely glorious. One of my all time favorite cars. The v8 sounds better imo

My favourite sounding V8🤤😍
My absolute Dreamcar 😍
Sounds amazing! Miss my e39 m5
Those rims are gorgeous! 😍🚗
His car is goals!
I dream every Day about bmw e39 m5 😀
Sad
400k miles on a E39? I'm impressed, I hope E60s can last that long
Any car can last that IF the owner(s) maintain it properly
Ash Cuckum nope. these bmw engines from that era are usually not the most reliable ones notable exception being the m54 i6. the e60s engines are even worse the have very heavy bearing wear which can sometimes lead up to complete enginge failure at less than a 100.000 miles
More modern cars will barley work after 18 years all the electronics will fail before 10 years many mates of mine with new cars of all brands have sensor fails and car features failing only being a couple weeks old to a year old
F10 M5 is reliability joke, for sure
@@loneshinystar haha E39 forever newers suck E39 for sure.
That car is a classic!
Beauty and the beast finally got some alone time and procreated this E39 m5
Well you just made e39 M5 already appreciating value go up even more!!! LOL! Nice!

OMG, that gear change is incredible, VERY nice car bro
Amazing nice use of different rpms too , sounds gr8
The greatest M5 ever
Damn that is perfect for me
Fantastic car! Glad to see it being used! Good work keeping the combustion chambers clean. :)
Fantastic! So well maintained
Dude wtf it vibrates my phone
I feel the power of this car from my chair!
Such a good looking car 🙌🏼
Sound is perfect 🔥✊🏾💪🏾
Is that the mileage or cost of ownership for the last 18 years?
kelvin lovelace know him from online forums, you would’ve thought pinhead Larry
They’re pretty cheap to keep running
That’s one helluva statement, both are true lol if you know what I mean
I always thought my car should run forever will all the new shit I have to put on it lmao
kelvin lovelace lmfao
ma brzmienie bestia 😎
What a beautiful Melody.
Sound like 525tds
I like this double-clutches.... 💥
That is one clean E39.
I want. 😍
Sounds so good!
I like the way you drive, very mature, very smart. Like a true gentleman that belongs in a 400hp 4 door saloon.
p.s.
if this is a one owner car(highly doubt it) , and you occasionally WOT or do donuts or powerslides redlining the shit out of the car, makes perfect sense why the car runs great with 400k miles on it
Fetti Monk these things need to be run hard every once in a while to last. They build carbon in the heads too easily. My dad has one and it sees WOT every single time he drives it.
Man that's awesome. Impressive k's too. I'm 350 000km + on my 02 525i m sport. Doesn't feel like it though.
Adam N im about to buy one Saturday, are they worth it?
@@tony2stackz483 M54 straight six engine is the one of the greatest Inline-6 engines ever made, I have one in my E46 too
400k?? :OOO its amazing... beast!
Sounds good bro!
This is what the coyote wishes it could sound like.
Coyote sound way better
tank2g2 coyote sounds way better then that trash
Coyotes sound very similar to this. Coyote still sound s a bit better and way outperforms this engine and any other BMW v8
coyote _302 I'll just sit back and enjoy my 454 Chevy
Gave me chills when lunched! Dont think its legal, but damn!
I can't wait to swap a m62 v8 in my e36. 2 top best v8's in my book a lq4 and the bmw 540i (m62). best v8's!
Thumbs up for the righteous launch.
no joke. this is a car not the new ones omg this sound is so fking good
Lovely bassy V8 sound... I love it.. great vid.
Almost 400.000mls ? Incredible !!!! That shows something. German craftsmanship.
Question: Do you have enough backpressure without mufflers and cats to sustain the HP ?
Probably yes with the right ECU remap.
Greg Antono yes the tune helps balance everything out
Another back pressure idiot ladies and gentlemen
Patrick H He should tell this to tuners who run straight pipe almost open headers😄
LiveBig7 lmao! I would actually just like people to stop using that term as a complete misnomer but I like your idea too
Greg Antono back pressure is a myth bro realy. Your don't need it, airflow/velocity is wat you need.
Sounds way better than the M5 E60 in my opinion, what a sound😍
Tim R I agree 100%
Lmao
Wow. V10 too much noise for u lmao
nah , V10 better
Wow what a sound!
Bmw’s were ahead of their time! What a beast this car is!
hey im jealous
If i owned an M5 I would be like this perosn. 400k miles? He didnt buy it to store it.....thats why you buy the car, to drive it!
Awesome vid. Especially the finish with two cars side by side
Thank you!
That is a BEAUTIFUL car!
Sometimes N/A is just better than turbo or S/C.
Supercharger isn't too bad if you have to go fi
Yep! Love the SC whine, especially during gear changes!
Nice. Im sure every corner of this car has been touched and upgraded for it to do this at 400K miles
Stas CTAC if there’s one car that’s worth owning and driving for that long it’s this
Thanks for the show! My E39 M5 has muffler delete and still has the cats. Yours sounds awesome..Mine is the same color, that is, if yours is the carbon blue. Best of luck.
I love the sound of BMW motors.
Damn ripping it at 400k miles lol at that mileage I'd be scared lol
@Burim Bunjaku because cars can be normal commuter cars as well. I have a 540i and I baby it. But I give it a rip every once in a while
There is a bit of blue smoke when you rev it. Are you gonna do any engine work on it?
What a beauty!!💣
Now THIS is a goddamn review! Great work son
Thanks man
Can't you read description? It clearly says that it is v8.
When she says she’s home alone
Love these m5s
that sound and rims
Lmao how much did it cost to maintain this beast for 400K miles!!!!!!
The last true M5. Not counting the e61 which was ugly
My man catches 2nd spinnin them rears up! Yeah bwoiii
That V8 is a monster.
у меня жигуль громче!
THIS is real NA M power sound...keep your post 2013 lawnmowers.
That V10 wow!

Michael Kennedy The E60 M5 has a V10...
Biggus Dickus this is a E39 with a 4.9 V8?
Michael Kennedy The E60 M5 with the V10 is at the end of the video dude...
Pre 2011 i think right?
Thank you for a great morning wake up!
A bit of blue smoke is just fine. Thats unburned Gasoline, because it's a streight pipe, there are no cats to catch it up. 😉
Oh my God this sounds so good, I think my ears just came....
so glorious...I've seen your posts on the E39M5 owner's group. Mine also came with no mufflers and no cats but I put some magnaflow sport cats on.
