The grapes joke was funny to me because canonically, grapes are actually Knuckles' favorite food. It was also referenced in Generations.

Nintendo actually leaves most fan games up. The only ones I've seen them take down were ones that make money off of ads and patreon or games that compete with products they actually have on the market.
@@JB-tl8rj Pokemon Uranuim. This was a free project that used a bit of pokemon not all but made new ones too and was in development for 7 yrs and got shut down overnight since it got popular.

"When Tails Gets Bored" was my absolute FAVORITE. I get why it seems outdated now, but I was a huge fan of Matt's fansite (Sonic Vegemite, represent!), the humor was the funniest thing in the world to a 7th grader, and the game itself was WAY more competent and complex than most other fangames of the time.

It's so amusing to see you, a person I've followed for a while now, having a fun time with Sonic GT (I'm the voice actor for Eggman for that game). I'm so glad you enjoyed it, as well as most of these other games too~

Giving Samus an optional first person mode for SRB2 really brings it full circle
Now I want a Metroid game but in Classic Doom style
First-person mode has been in vanilla SRB2 from the start thanks to the multiplayer Ringslinger gamemode using it. In fact, I actually prefer first-person over the normal third-person camera. (I’ve played _way_ too many FPSes.)
Glad to see that SRB2’s modding community is getting the recognition it deserves!
Same. I just wish the game itself had native saving with mods without messing around with other mods in order to save your mod playthroughs.

It's still boggles my mind. There are mods for mods for mods...of Doom. This is quite literally one of if not the most extravagant yet complicated doomcore mod ever.
You can literally race as a cardboard cutout of eggman on a Game boy stage against a giant eevee, and hat kid. Sometimes I feel like we've gone too far, but sometimes I feel like we haven't gone far enough, and I think the latter applies in this case.

Those last two games take me waaaaay back.
Yeah, WTGB is pretty standard for fangames at the time. In fact it's actually one of the better ones, since it does try to change up the gameplay a bit. Of course, getting stuck in the ground and on surfaces was par for the course at the time due to the super basic klik & play engine.
WTGB was actually based on a series of comic-like "hoaxes" from around the same time, where Tails just screws around with Sonic and the levels because he is, indeed, bored. Their creator went on to make this game.
You know, it's nice getting off a bad day of work and coming home to an episode of Ant Dude. Honestly, I needed this. Thank you Ant, please keep up the amazing work!

Watching content creators give Sonic Robo Blast 2 love is basically an addictive drug at this point - I can't get enough of it, and it makes me so happy it's becoming more and more recognized

Sonic robo blast 2 Persona also has some sick Character mods, most of which can be found on there discord server. But can also be found on the games "gamebanana page" my personal favorite mod is Doomguy from "Heroes Character Collection Persona" otherwise known as HCCP. There's other mods also made by talented people from their discord server!

As someone who just recently beat SMT 3's Hard Mode without any mind/nerve nulls for the true final boss, I am very much interested.
Eggman hates furries is a masterpiece. It’s silly, but at the same time is had this dramatically epic tone and feel to it and the gameplay is astonishingly realistic feeing. I play it once every year in April for the past 3 years cause its just that amazing to me.

SRB2 Kart mods are funny just because of the recursive nature of it. It's a mod of a mod of a mod of Doom!
Which also makes me wish you'd review Doom mods and wads like this. there is so many amazing things in there! From just solid maps to mods pretty much turning Doom into a different game. Like there is a Castlevania mod, it's just straight up a new Castlevania game in first-person! There is Golden Souls 1 and 2, which are pretty much like Mario 64 of Doom mods. There is a Touhou mod. There is a golf mod. There are a couple of Metroid mods. There is a mod that brings all of the features of new Doom games to original Doom... Lots of fun joke mods too, like Run for It which makes every object and pickup on the map suddenly get legs and try to run away from you.

This year I made Sonic Red Ridge and joined SAGE 2021 with it, it's an actual full level with infinity plus. I made it as a continuation of last years demo taking into account all the feedback I got from it

The Persona mod actually takes from Persona 5’s battle ideas like the Baton Pass. It takes the location of dungeon crawling from Persona 3 aka Tartarus and has battle mechanics of Persona 5 while still having the Shadows found in Persona 3 and 4. Also the Emerald gauge and Sub Personas are based off the party gauge and Sub Personas of the Persona Q duology.
All we need now is some fan animation about it like nazo unleashed or sonic flash

I think people are forgetting about the greatest fan game of all time, Sonic Epoch. If memory serves, it came out BEFORE when knuckles goes missing, on dos, then was ported to GBA. The plot is in the SatAm canon, and has Sonic travelling to the future and stopping a metal Eggman from freezing the world. It's really, really wack and needs to be talked about more.
I did not know any of that stuff. I remember he had a gun and that weird ending, though. I played it, back on sonicgames365 when I was like 12?13?14? Or so.
Thank god, I was waiting for another episode of ant being impressed and disappointed simultaneously while playing sonic mods

My favorite thing about going into first-person mode as samus is that since SRB2 is a mod for Doom, this is an example of an FPS being modded to be a third-person platformer, and then being modded again to be an FPS.
It’s cool to see not only a playable shadow level, but also have really good fan games based off of RPG and fighting game mechanics with these characters.
And I’m still keeping my hopes of seeing a honestly fleshed out fan sequel to sonic the fighters. In all it’s low poly but really characteristic art style, especially if it has a low poly shadow in it (with or without his guns/vehicles).
This was a good video on Sonic Fan Games, it shows what the fans of the blue blur can do and make something awesome for the community, well done AntDude! ;)
I know it looks like a weird game but to everyone watching this I strongly recommend trying Eggman Hates Furries out anyway. It's by far one of the most unique and creative takes on 2D Sonic I've seen, keep an open mind and you'll be rewarded. Don't get turned off by the weird title 😅

If you want more from the infinity engine, there are loads of games and stages, such as metropolis, red ridge, adventure packs 1 and 2, and probably biggest of all, Sonic Omens, a huge game, about as long as GT, with fully animated and voiced cutscenes, boss battles, tornado sections, playable shadow with a whole repertoire of chaos abilities etc etc
Showing some of the cool fan games combined with me learning game dev recently has really made me want to make one myself.

3:33 this is so far my favorite Sonic Mod ever! There is no game series that I love more than Persona and it mixed with sonic characters was grear fun to play through. I also like how they used elements from Persona Q

Fun fact: Sonic Smackdown actually has a reference to Alvin Earthworm's flash series Super Mario Bros Z.
If you play as Mecha Sonic he has access to Akuma's Raging Demon, complete with theatrics. This being a reference to when he faced the Axiom Rangers in SMBZ's Yoshi's Island arc.

Now that I've seen the actual video I have to say it's amazing how much care and love fans put into Sonic fan games, they clearly love these games and characters. SEGA should be ashamed that they don't seem to put even a fraction of that passion into their own official games.

When I saw Morshu in Sonic Robo Blast 2 Kart, I was immediately hooked on it from start to finish.
Some of these mods look more impressive and robust than a lot of modern games... and I'm not just talking about Sonic.
I really hope Sega scopes out more fan game makers. If we get more things like what happened with Christian Whitehead imagine the sort of games we could get
