In this episode, Dr. Ana Najafi and Dr. Ron Najafi ask Professor Lustig various questions about vitamin D, including its use, potential overdose, and how it's created. They also discuss the risks of overdosing on any vitamins and how certain conditions can make it difficult for some people to get enough vitamin D. Additionally, Professor Lustig shares insights on ketogenic diets, their benefits, and associated risks. He further expands on topics from his previous presentation at Emery Pharma, touching on personal responsibility and free will.

He’s saying if you DON’T have enough vitamin D, you augment your own inflammation. that is what the immune system does to a certain degree it creates inflammation as an immune response. The immune response either uses or gets rid of the vitamin D so the less vitamin D you have the more inflammation you might have… he’s saying if you want to keep your inflammation, the body has a method with how to do that, and all you need to do is not take vitamin D. In the longer video, he goes onto to explain that people died from Covid not because of the virus itself, but because of the immune response of the body essentially attacking itself, and that’s why vitamin D was very important to take during Covid. Etc.. this short video could have used 15 more seconds at the front of it and the context would’ve been there. Instead, people are going to say that he doesn’t know what he’s talking about even though everybody actually agrees, the context just isn’t there.

My situation is I have inflammation, but when I take vit. D3, I get a fever and my face and upper arms swell and I get terrible body aches. Each time sunlight strikes me, I get this going again.
    Somebody help ?.

It just sends me to sleep. I have spent years covered head to toe because of my reaction to the sun but we need vitamin D for healthy bones.
Just a suggestion because I have no clue if it would work for you, it helped me, but have you tried the keto diet? I have to weigh everything to stay within my allowance but it stops the inflammation and it stopped my vitamin D levels dropping any further. I'm just now starting carnivore - the most serious keto diet you can do I guess.

So many Covid deaths were vitamin D deficient I have a hard time with this one. He also doesn’t have the body type of a metabolically healthy person, I’d love to know his triglycerides/HDL ratio.

The video context is poor. In the longer video he literally said what you just did! The problem he said with inflammation, which is the body’s immune response, is that it rids of vitamin D. So if you (being facetious) WANT to stay inflamed, (wink wink, nobody does) the body will take care of that for you and rid of vitamin D. That’s the part out of context. He goes on to explain how things like sugar and viruses deplete Vit D, because of ongoing inflammation and that’s why even if people are taking a lot of it, they may still have bloodwork that says they don’t have much in their body. Until they address being inflamed, (sugar) their body will continue to deplete Vit D. Make better sense now?
They make the short so that you watch the video, but if the short confuses people and misleads, and misdirects them, that doesn’t inspire them to watch the video.
I watched the video because I know this guy is intelligent, and that the video was likely out of context. And I watched it so that I could come back here and tell all of you, what he was trying to say. I’m nice like that. lol. Cheers.

It seems that the more we learn, the less helpful it becomes to try to target single nutrients to increase. I guess if we could all live like we were intended to there would be no need to try to fool our incredibly well adapted bodies.

Just imagine if you lived anywhere except possibly the tropics, and I mean before we hybridized plants to create modern fruits and veggies. Just think about going out in nature and trying to fill your little baskets with carbohydrate foods. You could still attempt this today, go out in the woods and try to sustain yourself on carbs. 1st you have to figure out which plants wouldn't poison you. On most of the planet your basket is going to be quite empty. .....even today with all of our botanical knowledge.

He’s saying, if you don’t have enough vitamin D, the bodies immune response to disease, etc. is inflammation which rid of the ability for it to also utilize the vitamin D, and that’s why if people have a lot of inflammation and they take vitamin D supplements. That's because you don't understand what he just said, If you Don't have enough vitamin D than your body becomes more inflamed, and you need to deal with the inflammation so your body can better absorb the vitamin D.
