    In this video, I teach you all you need to know about the 8-bar Blues to be able to handle these progressions on the bass at your next Blues jam Night.
    The 8-bar Blues is the next most popular after the 12-bar Blues so you need to know it.
    I give examples of common Blues standards that use the 8-bar form and explain the different chord progressions.
    If you are serious about your Blues bass playing then you need to understand the 8-bar Blues progressions.
    This bass video tutorial is suitable for absolute beginner bass players through to intermediate bassists.
    You may want to check out my 'Bass Beginner Series'. The lessons in the series cover lots of topics for beginners, with tips on bass techniques, scales, arpeggios, pentatonic scales, and learning to read music.

    Now between my retirement and the lockdown I have a lot of practice time.Trying to learn new and more advanced techniques was having it's ups and downs so my thinking has been to go back to the more basic things.I hope to realize the advantages from this.

      Good plan Kev. Even though I’ve been a pro bassist for 25 years, I still return to the basics every now and then.

    Another great blues lesson. I have played "Key to..." never realised it was an 8 bar blues ;)
    Nice T-shirt - when will these be available?

      Cheers Tim. I am just setting the 'Walk The Blues' t-shirt cart page up at the moment. I'll post the link on here when that's sorted. I'll also email you the link - you can be the first to post in the coaching group with it! :-)

    Is the song named "Since I Don't Have You" would be constituted as 8-Bar Blues?

    • @GregsBassShed
      @GregsBassShed  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Mark, the chord progression of this song is 8 bars long but it doesn't follow the usual 8-Bar Blues progression.
      It's basically a1-6-4-5 chord progression for the most part which is popular in that song style.

    • @markandoyo7575
      @markandoyo7575 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GregsBassShed As though 8-Bar Blues for that song "Since I don't Have You" whose later covered by Guns N' Roses under the 12/8 tempo,
      I've got so curious about that song how they configures their Blues Styles from the original and up to the cover styles,
      however;
      That using a blue notes whilst Rhythm goes wild as like a pop tempo and it's basically navigated as RnB or Rhythm and Blues
      For the Funk;
      It is may or may not basically one chord progressions per phase and I already made one from them covers at my Uke redundaces

      Thanks for your input Errol. Making video lessons is a learning curve and this one was a while ago.
      I hope it wasn’t too painful for you and you still managed to pick up some useful information!
