    This is the last in a series of 10 blues rhythm guitar lessons. Just to show that there is life beyond the standard 12 bar, I look at another common blues form.

    Thank you Adrian you explain things well. I'm on the other side of 50. I only took up the guitar again after giving up a few years ago.

    Thanks for this Iusually play Key to the Highway on my acoustic as I’m more used to using the e minor pentatonic .However playing this as a sort of rock number works just as well and I shall try it out on my Strat. Thanks for all your lessons. They’re very easy to follow.and fill a lot of black holes in my knowledge

    I've been trying in vain to find a usable tutorial on a bass line for this 8-bar/Key To The Highway kinda thing, then stumbled across this video (been here before, gave it a thumbs-up no telling how long ago !) Anyway, following along with the intro here seems to have dialed me right in !!! Thanks, broughams !
    (BTW, that doll-thing behind you is freaking me out, man !!! Please tell me that's not an embalmed family member !! :D )

    Hi Adrian, Thank you for taking the time to upload these videos. I was just wondering, what kind of amp and effects do you use in this video? That's a lovely Tele, is it vintage?
    All the best,
    Rob.

    Love the channel and thanks for the great lessons.
    I’ve included a link to this video in the launch of the Guitarly app. on Android. Guitarly is a free, jamming app which gives a backing track and shows the chord, chord tones and scale notes as they change over an interactive fretboard. The track can be paused/skipped and the tempo, drum pattern and instruments can be changed to inspire your soloing.
    We would love to feature your work but if you want this link removed (or would like to include links to other lessons) please let me know.
    All the best and thanks for the great lessons.
    Paul

    Very nicely explained. Just curious what kind of Tele you have there and what you are playing through? I would love to see a lesson on a few tasty licks that can be used in this tune. I also appreciate that you include explanation on timing in your lessons...which many online instructors simply omit. Idk why because it is important to get the song on point.

      +rockerpaul Thanks a lot. Usually just take my guitars into a shop for setups. Considering getting into doing it myself though to save money and because it seems quite hard to find someone who'll do a really good job.

    Can you throw out one of those old country players or songs that does his own thing? I unfortunately do that a lot. Maybe I'm not as bad as I thought!

  • @gstube1
    @gstube1 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do 8 bar progressions usually have a slower tempo due to the quicker form cycle?

    • @cybrunel1016
      @cybrunel1016 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      gstube Not particularly. You can go either way. SRV did really up tempo shuffles in 8 bars.

    I’ve been watching your videos for a while - and i really enjoy them, and you explain things clearly... but i have one question... Are you, in fact, a robot?

    • @markrodgers2976
      @markrodgers2976 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Making a robot aware of the true nature of their existence can result in them going on a full rogue-robot-rampage. Not good.
