    That is a PCV catch can. It is common to place the Hellcat’s can next to the washer fluid reservoir as the right side is vented. If it deadheads, it’s a catch can, and if it circulates back to the intake, it’s an oil separator.
    The difference is typically a wadding made of metal strands that allows the oil to condensate in the oil separator and not be vented back into the intake, and on a catch can it will instead have a filtered vent.

    • @adamhayden5152

      It’s not a catch can, it has vacuum hoses running to it. I have a catch can installed on my car…

    • @raredesign
      @raredesign 2 ปีที่แล้ว +44

      @@adamhayden5152As I mentioned, if it circulates back to the intake, then it’s an oil separator. A hose from a catch can “is” a vacuum line; that’s how it works. The PCV is circulated back to the intake for emissions regulation.

    • @outka5tz
      @outka5tz 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I mean either way they are both catching the oil. Feels like one of those deals where "oil separator" means it always goes back to the intake and "catch can" may or may not go back to the intake.

    • @raredesign
      @raredesign 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@outka5tz yes, separator goes back to the intake, and catch can vents to atmosphere. When you do a high boosted build, you have to vent faster, so definitely go open. I went with a FatFab catch can on my Mustang with dual large vents and use -10 AN fittings for both PCV bungs on my valve covers.

    • @adamhayden5152
      @adamhayden5152 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@raredesign it’s not a oil separator or anything to do with blowby etc. the lines are far to small. I have seen many different catch can setups and none have lines that small. In fact I’m upgrading my catch can to Tracy Lewis’s.

    7:08 oil catch. Pretty simple but effective peripheral for direct injects. It basically acts as a blow-by alleviate in function via the hose and the can does what the name suggests: catching the nasty output emitted from the crankcase stopping it from getting into your manifold. You can even make one yourself. Anything is better than nothing. It can get annoying though bc you do have to remember to regularly empty and clean.

    I love how these bottles of gin just keep showing up, i'm almost thinking it's not a coincident. Thinking about buying myself a nice bottle!

    I moved from russia to the states couple years ago and bought Dodge Charger. Must say it is still better than Lada I had before :) but mine didn’t come with James Gin though

    For anyone curious, they were incorrect about the hellcat engine being related to the engine in May's exorcist Camero ZL1 he drove on the grand tour. Dodge uses the hemi platform of v8's while the Chevrolet camero uses an LS platform v8 (Chrysler vs. General Motors platforms)

    Being a massive mopar fan… I can’t disagree with anything said by the legend himself. The Hellcat is my favourite car in existence but, it is cumbersome, obnoxious, and harry and I absolutely love that and I love that the car knows that. All 707HP to those rear wheels and that super charger whine can put a smile on anyone’s Face. Great video guys. Just subbed. (Can’t get that amount of crazy in a refined European car 😏)

    I know it has trouble on the horse cart trails in England. Sure, it's a big fat powerful car, and England only makes big fat powerful Range Rovers. So... OK.

    I've been waiting to race one of these Hellcats in my E85 tuned TTRS. I'm not a fan of the Challenger, and that widebody looks hacked on. I think the Chargers look awesome. It's a shame they weigh as much as a truck.
    EDIT: I got a bottle of your gin expecting to save it. It was gone in a few days. Very mellow and tasty in a tonic.

      @@jameswhitehurst5209 It’s not cheap, your just used to luxury vehicles.
      I own a Challenger R/T and it’s the nicest vehicle I’ve owned, I’ve owned may vehicles mostly Mopars.
      The one Mercedes I had I didn’t like.
