Damn, this is a beautiful car. I don't think I mind the interior too much as others are pointing out. The leather and stitching looks pretty good as well as the instrument cluster. That's all that really matters, and the 700 hp. I think I'm in love.

There's something endearing about American cars like this. Cheap interiors, handling that's okay at best but with massive horsepower. It's so irrational to like something like this and yet I absolutely love it!

Had an SRT (not hellcat) version one of these in the States this year and it is a genuine beast. That car has around 300bhp less than this and that still sounded amazing and went like stink, I’d love this car. Great review too Mat

Good review Mat, but I wouldn't say forced induction with a turbo is free energy, as each cilinder needs to work a bit extra during the exhaust stroke to overcome increased pressure drop over the turbine, but compared to a supercharger definitely
Don't forget you can't buy these in the UK unless you have the money to import these so M3 owners won't have to worry about coming up against these very often
It's based on a 2005 Dodge which is itself based on a late 90's Mercedes W210. In fact I can confirm after hiring a SRT model it handled just like my 1999 E300 Turbodiesel and has the same classic foot pedal brake! True they were hoping to upgrade by using the Alfa Giulia platform but that turned out to be too small to fit the huge V8's. So good job FCA for giving us a decent muscle car in a classic Mercedes soul!

It is a very tricky engine not too much people knows about. This 707hp motor is not made in USA, it is actually made in Mexico (cheaper handwork) that's why you get this price. Also the engineering is inherited from 2002-2008 age when Daimler bought Chrysler, so prints, machines, tolerances, manufacturing standards are Daimler's (Mercedes Benz). So it is a very nice combo: German engineering with good/price/quality balance of manufacture in Mexico in an American muscle body.
I drove one of these for a couple of years and recently sold it. Our friends from the UK came over and fell in love with it. It is an awesome machine overall. It can handle but it's not nimble due to the footprint and weight. I'm replacing it with a Tesla on order.
I love this car so much, it is new but yet he function of it looks just classic but still modern, also very powerful and awesome looking! great job Dodge, i wish i could buy one...at least in the future

If you rebuilt it with new tech you’d have something like an AMG engine with ten times as many moving parts. The engine would cost 50k by itself and would be far less reliable. There are good reasons why Chevy and dodge stick with pushrods.
The m5 competition may be the greater car with awd, better track performance and a much better interior. But nearly no one who buys these cars tracks them and for HALF THE COST, nothing can match the price to performance.
Ok let's remember that a true "muscle car" was never intended to compete with European/Japanese luxury. Muscle in this case means power, speed and performance stiffness. People who buy these cars don't care about the upgraded interior or gas milage. Muscle car reviews should compare apples to apples...Vette, Camaro, Shelby, etc...

I drove one of these for a couple of years and recently sold it. Our friends from the UK came over and fell in love with it. It is an awesome machine overall. It can handle but it's not nimble due to the footprint and weight. I'm replacing it with a Tesla on order.

If you rebuilt it with new tech you’d have something like an AMG engine with ten times as many moving parts. The engine would cost 50k by itself and would be far less reliable. There are good reasons why Chevy and dodge stick with pushrods.
The m5 competition may be the greater car with awd, better track performance and a much better interior. But nearly no one who buys these cars tracks them and for HALF THE COST, nothing can match the price to performance.

Ok let's remember that a true "muscle car" was never intended to compete with European/Japanese luxury. Muscle in this case means power, speed and performance stiffness. People who buy these cars don't care about the upgraded interior or gas milage. Muscle car reviews should compare apples to apples...Vette, Camaro, Shelby, etc...
I love the interior. All this new tech and screens everywhere without buttons is annoying. We are not in 2040.
