This might not be a new secret, but since element is going to be more common after TU1 and I have seen many people not know this I wanna share it. Valstrax looks as if he is super weak to elements other than dragon in the hunter notes, but in fact that is a lie. When he enrages, all parts of him that go red become immune to element. There are only two parts that do not become immune, his wing arms (the stalk that connects to his wings) with a element zone of 15, and his forelegs with a zone of 25. Another hidden valstrax fact is that, even though every single other elemental weakness he has is the same value for all elements (except for dragon of course) his chest windsac has different element values. It is a 15 zone for Fire, 20 zone for thunder and a 25 zone for water and ice. TLDR avoid using element VS Valstrax, blast works better since he takes more blast damage than other monsters. If you insist on using element, bring ice or water and aim for his wingstalks & forelegs when he is enraged.

They apparently were planning to add a toggle button in the hitzone page where it currently says "Normal" but for some reason did not implement it. In Base MHR there was a button like box around the word "Normal" but in Sunbreak they removed the outline box so I don't have hope for them adding it back in.
I actually had no idea about this. I did notice I did less damage when he became red and I had a guess about it based on his armor skill but this makes a ton of sense.
10:05 It's the "Stormsoul" Skill that's doing that, Lv 1-3 give a boost to thunder and dragon attack at 5,10, and 15%. And Stormsoul Lv 4 and 5 also add 1 and 2 levels to each skill.
Quick correction regarding Stormsoul: It treats skills from Quirious Crafting the same way it does skills from decorations, meaning it does not add to them. This is testable by using a single piece of armor with a QC skill on it along with four pieces of Narwa/Ibushi, and you'll see that all the base skills of that 5th piece are given an extra level, but not the QC skill (or the decoration skills, obviously). This is extra annoying to me, personally, because they already have coded exception for the QC skills so they're not doubled, and yet they still decided to remove the ability for the Ibushi/Narwa to get QC skills, even though they would not be enhanced by Stormsoul. An Ibushi set along with a lance bearing the Narwa Soul rampage deco is surprisingly good, so I was really hoping to significantly enhance my set with some QC skills. Sadly, that's just not in the cards.
One thing to note about anomaly investigations is that the buddy meta is changed a bit. Gundog is still a top choice, but if you like Palicos - gatherer palicos cannot pilfer afflicted materials, and shock purrison and poison purrison work on every afflicted monster since none of them are elders. I have been running an Assist palico which was arguably the worst palico in base sunbreak but is now extremely useful. You get your nice extra wirebug/power drum but also 2 different types of traps and the silkbind which is great for anomaly monsters since you can keep the monster in one spot while you whack at the afflicted points on its body. It's especially good against something like afflicted Rathalos because he loves flying constantly and the silkbinder stops his flight while active, causing a flailing animation where he won't be attacking. Definitely worth considering.
I'm pretty sure you only have to beat a monster a certain number of times for the Mantle to show up in the shop. I was farming for an Astalos mantle specifically because it wasn't in my shop, but when I went back after a handful of mantleless runs, Bahari was suddenly stocking them
That would explain why I could buy Ibushi's windshipre from him, despite not having it never drop for me, otherwise, I'd have completed the armor set. And me and my friends hunted him at least 8 times by now.
I wonder if being able to track him like this is intended. I feel like it should be more like Chameleos where you cannot target him or see him on the map.
I just found this out. While your doing melding if you push down on right stick it'll sort your materials by number available/how many you have instead of by point value. This is hudge b/c I have a tone of mid lvl mats that I can use.
There's definitely a problem with the investigation requests and how they generate. It is REALLY hard to get the right monster AND have it be a high enough anomaly level to count.
Just join other peoples' hunts, setting your level requirement + the specific monster you want (primarily the ones that appear ONLY after 51+). You can "hunt" any monster you want, if you are qualified. The only issue is, getting into a group where one random noob won't triple cart because he was carried to 51+...
To be more specific... Join ANY hunt at the appropriate investigation level. Then... AFTER you are level 51+, you can start looking for "the right" specific monster (particularly ones that require 51+). There is a saying, "Beggars can't be choosers."
People saying "join others lol". I have waited a lot with the system of searching the specific monster and lvl online. Like refreshing for like 10 min trying to find someone doing a random lvl 61 Great Baggy. I end up putting high lvl random monster. And when you are with friend you or your friend get the short end of the stick for not doing the correct investigation. This system could be much more better If it was like World submissions. And instead of specific monster, needs to be a specific wyvern type (Brute, fanged, bird, flying )
@@Chamadzero I primarily meant so that you can unlock the new 8 A5* hunts. Trying to find a group doing level 61+ G Baggi sounds like an act of futility... unless you have one in your investigations list. Just do a lower level hunt, unless you have an easy investigation and can just grind your own ticket.
I generally feel like the level requirements for the Investigation bonus shouldn't be there or should atleast be a lot lower. Its so rare to get a Monster you could actually need parts from right now. And if you get it its very unlikely you have an Investigation with the right level for it unless its one of the higher Tier Monsters.
@@ToxxinT199 You get get guaranteed level 81 Investigations for the A5 Monster if you do their "normal" Afflicted Quests when you unlock them at Research Level 81. But most of the time you just get more Quests for A5 Monster from these. My current Bonus is for Level 81 Basarios. Neither do I have a Basarios of that level nor did I want to do a Basarios with that level.^^
...Starting to get really IRRITATED over level 50 -85 monsters (involving monsters I DON'T have :Diablos,Seregios,Bazelgeuse,Magnamalo,Mizu, Espinas,Gore Magala,Zinogre or Rajang...) May take me a WEEK to get a monster to lv 60 due to my powerlifting/OMAD paleo weight loss setup...
It's to encourage people to actually grind out those lower quests and then involve other people, both to get those hunts done faster and to get access to quests you might not have.
@@raidchaser443 This is BS. Just join a random quest between 51 and whatever your cap is... for the specific monster you are looking for. The "hard" part is finding a group that won't triple cart or not triple carting yourself... as you may or may not be qualified for the content you are "powerlifting" into... x.X
This cleared up my confusion. I thought I need to see the mantle first before I showed up. But after fighting Magmadron yesterday it popped up on it owned after the quest and I didn’t even have one. However, I still never see Basarios mantle even tho I fought him more than 10 times for sure?
There's no definitive amount of times you need to kill the monster. I've never seen the mantle drop from Valstrax but it was in my list on day 1 of the update. However there are ones that I've killed over 20 times and they aren't showing. I honestly think it's random, or based on part breaks or something obscure like that
It’s weird that you can track Lucent with the focus cam while it’s invisible, but you can’t track an invisible Chameleos the same way. Your cam just stops following Chameleos until it reappears.
Someone else mentioned that Lucent also doesn't leave from the mini map so they must have very different invisibility types. I know that Lucent redirects moonlight for actual invisibility and Chameleos probably (I know hardly anything about MH) camouflages into it's environment.
Its like the debs want the set to be bad. You aren't going full power with 4 pieces of ibushi/narwa anyway. Why they don't let it boost the other armor's qurio skill?
Another thing to note is when farming for investigations is that breaking monter parts also grants investigations so partbreaker is highly recommended. What is not as obvious is that it is any monster on the maps parts that can be broken not just the anomaly targets parts.
I found that in the Citadel map during the day and night you can actually see the Gargolda flying over the map when its not perched in its spot for its photo opportunity. It seems like it circles over zones 3, 4 and 14 specifically. That is where I have seen it fly usually multiple times. So if you climb the tall structures there you should see it at times when its not perched.
With Storm Soul skill it's poorly worded because it says it will just upgrade other skills by 1+ or 2+ if you have it on max. It doesn't mention that it's only for skills on the armor. It could have been a fun set to play with if any decorations slotted in could be maxed as well and with it only being able to have rank 2 slots you only have on weapon and amulet for those Rank 3 and 4 skills.
To talk about Bahari and the mantle shop, me and my friends assume how the mantle shows up in the shop is if you complete one of the following: 1 Get the mantle as a drop, 2 For Rise monsters hunt 10 times, 3 For Sunbreak monsters 5 times. This is what we concluded after comparing out lists and what we hunted. To reiterate this is what we noticed and not definitive.
I always find it funny how one change could instantly make ibushi/narwa sets meta. Even if stormsoul didn't apply to your talisman, even if they can't roll new skills through qurious crafting, if the skills you are allowed to slot into the armor itself were to be affected, it would instantly become meta viable if not the best of the meta. Just one weakness exploit deco would be worth 3 and the same would go for crit boost and other skills. You could pull up with almost every comfort skill in the game on top of wex 3, crit boost 3, crit element 3, protective polish 3, and another skill of your choosing. All with one simple change (which is probably the exact reason the devs have refused to do so up to now, still its fun to imagine what could have been)
A good way i found to farm new investigations, is to simply fight an afflicted rakna-kadaki. You can break off the webbing on her feet for new investigations, and then repeat everytime they grow back. I got the max of 8 new investigations per hunt this way.
You have to mix ibushi and narwa to get the skills you want, you might go from lvl2- max on these skills, just mess around with matching the pieces and find what you’re looking for. Its very interesting, its a cool play on the whole “mix sets” meta, while also staying true their story as well
Another thing I found out - you have a chance to get an Afflicted Dire Horn from gathering from Afflicted Zinogre's back while it's down and flailing on the ground, just as you would from carving its body, tail or breaking one of its parts.
Sneak attack actually increases all damage originating from behind the monster. That means gunlance shelling is boosted by sneak attack as is the hunting horn egg if it pops behind the monster. Sneak attack also works if you shoot a monster with peirce amo and the shot travels through the body and into the head. On small monsters you can stand behind the monster and still hit parts like the head and forelimbs. The area of effect is super generous it's pretty much any ware 180^o behind the monster's center line. For most monsters you can stand next to the hindlegs which tends to be a spot monster have trouble hitting.
on the first tip: Do not change your option to focus camera, just leave it as target camera, then press the right stick to target the monster. When the monster is targeted just press L1 and your camera will reset to the monsters position. It is also really good against Valstraxes Ambush, just spam L1 and you can see exactly where he is and when you have to dive. Or just use this feature as a full replacement for the right stick in combat. That last point isn't to relevant nowadays but was very important on the older games where camera controls where a nightmare.
The ibushi set is one of the best sets for defensive gunlance, you have to mix it with the other set but it's amazing for wide shelling only build. Most people have moved on to sneak attack because it effects shelling also , but it you need to tank up Ibushi is king.
Narwa and Ibushi sets are mixed for comfort. i would recommend for dual blades in particular using the Ibushi helm, gloves, and waist with the Narwa chest and legs using your talisman and the 2 slots in the armor to get weakness exploit and crit boost and curious crafting for extra slots as if nothing else you can get your element attack decorations added. it wont be meta but you will have: Wind Alignment 5 (doubles as Good Luck) StormSoul 5 (+2 to armor skills not from decorations or Taisman) Constitution 4 Evade Window 4 Thunder Alignment 4 Crit Boost 3 Weakness Exploit 3 Focus 3 Power Prolonger 3 Marathon Runner 3 Stamina Surge 3 Critical Draw 3 Evade Extender 3 + whatever leftover slots you have from curious crafting and how good your talisman is
For gathering at all the points with qurios - returning from the quest within 5 minutes will not progress time, so if you have a particularly good research request you can farm investigations without losing it
One thing surprises me, it seems like not a lot of ppl noticed this when fighting Valstrax: you can literally hear his jet engine roaring when he’s about to dive bomb u, it’s super obvious.
i got a Secret for ya, The ladder on the platform in Elgado below the Cohoot gathering nest is actually climbable, no Wire-bugging or wall-running needed.
Then perhaps it's due to how many times you've hunted Gore? ^It could be an either/or situation, for all we know atm. Either you get a mantle drop and it shows, or you hunt the monster enough times and it still just shows
Everytime that I have successfully joined an investigation that I need I have not received that same investigation after completing the hunt. Ive had that happen every time so far.
Allmother set has a bunch of comfort skills on it and stromsoul boost thunder and dragon element damage. Being able to mix ibushi and narwa peices means you should be able to get a combination of skills that works for your weapon. Also with 4 pieces the armor skills on the 5th piece get +1. The armor can gain slots from augmentation so you can get a couple ranks of damage boosting skills like attack up or weakness exploit.
8:41 as a DB main as well, that is my exact pain with Anjanath. I end up resorting to activating Demon Flight with the legs, get a few slashes in, and run down the spine.
I *always* play target lock on when im hunting monsters because panning the cam myself is a hassle, and to say the least I was a little bit disappointed but also in a way relieved that it exposed where Lucent Narga was while invisible. I wish it worked kind of like Chameleos when it went foggy invisible, but at the same time i like how easier it made Lucent for me.. lol
The Research Requests should sync to the lobby host when you are in a lobby. It's really a big miss when a lot of people have hunting groups they typically play with, not randoms.
I like mixing the ibushi and narwa armor so I can have the skills I want for those sets true its not a meta set but still fun to use like he said if u have constitute n don't need guard just put another piece of armor its really fun
Mix of narwa and ibushi applies to charge blade. Try Narwa head, arms, waist, Ibushi chest and legs. All relevant CB skills for raw impact CB. Also thunder/dragon element phials by using Silver Rath chest.
Speaking of Narwa, Ibushi and Quirio skills, you can always replace 1 of the set with any other piece of armor and get a double up of any skills they offer. This includes set-specific skills.
Still you don't get a bonus +1 to the new skill of an augmented armor wich is so stupid. Like the set is already mid at best. Let it shine at least with a +1 to the new qurio skill of another armor.
I've heard other creators say that the request rewards goes up to 100 after the first one too, but that's actually not true. I completed mine, and my new request is also only 50 coins again. Was pretty bummed out about it. It might be based on your Anomaly Rank or something
5:15 Actually no, that's not the case. You don't have to get the mantle first in order for it to show up in Bahari's shop. You actually just have to fight the monsters 5 times or more in order to get those mantles to show up. As I discovered with Magma Almudron. I have yet to get a "Mantle of Origin" "Red Dragonsphire" or a "Magmadron Mantle" And yet they are in the shop for me. Though the way I figured it out was "Magmadron Mantles" were not showing up in the shop for me at first, until I had finally hunted Magma Almudron for the 5th time and it finally showed up in the shop. And I still have yet to get one.
I have confirmed what Redcrimson is saying in his comment about how you don't actually NEED to acquire a mantle to be able to buy one. I can currently buy Ibushi's Windsphire from Bahari, despite never having got one during the many hunts I have currently done of Master Rank Ibushi, the Windsphire is currently marked as "????" in my notes. Also, acquiring the mantle DOES NOT unlock it for purchase. This is because, from what I've seen in other videos, Furious Rajang's "mantle", it's heart, can be bought from the shop, yet, desptie having got the heart, it has not unlocked in the shop. I've also looked at other mantles I've collected and did not see them in the shop as I've only hunted the monster once or twice. Such as the Abyssal Dragonshire, which I have one of due to having hunted Gaismagorm once, so it is not in the shop.
Yah I have something similar with the rathian mantel, I can research it but i have never gotten one to drop, but I have hunted it many times trying to get one.
@@DevonGarrett I kind of wish I was in your position, since Rathian mantles are dropping in my item box like flies. The game even had the gull to mock me by dropping rathian mantles in the rathian and magmadron support survey a couple times.
For the request It is entirely possible to do so without screwing’s friend’s Investigation: friend post quest, load into hunt, you friend would abandon the quest and you are now in the quest with the correct target monster, and your friend would still have the same quest remaining for the investigation
Idk if this is common or been mentioned but if you order the same usual dango repeatedly at the steel works canteen, she will say "I knew you were gonna say that"
tracking lucent narga can be funny, when i first hunted him i without realizing it, hit him with some of my melody combos on HH when i didn't mean to/was just playing the songs in the meantime, and even was just walking and found him by um running into him so he blocked off where i was going while he was shortly immobile. that's alwasy been a thing though, hasn't it? break monster parts and some will take more damage/have a better hit zone but i guess with the metal raths it's more of an extreme case. with sneak attack, there's also this neat little glitch, it's 100% a gitch because it's a gl buff, shelling benefits from this skill when it is normally notorious for not benefiting form most damage skills. fun for while i lasts but don't expect it to stick around. 15%, if you know how element is calculated is actually super small for a percentage increase do to rounding on its own. sure if you stack the rampage deco too it's not a joke but... yes, to use Bahari for optimal blasphemy/avoiding the scornful eye in the sky of Sowron RNJesus you have to have been blessed by him at least once per mantle. i'm meming here, i'm all for this system but it's just funny to mock. if you could qurious craft on serpent armor that would turn into a more OP version of the old atlal ka armor where skill points were doubled with all the skills it has that will be at decent levels with the set bonus buffing them.
I definately had access to a Nargacuga mantle in Baharis item exchange before i got a Narga mantle. Got my first one yesterday, but i could already trade for it before then.
In my opinion, being able to lock onto Lucent using the lock-on button feels very cheesy. I mean, it doesn't give you faster hunt times but it somewhat ruins the immersion for me so every time I fight it, I don't click the lock-on button when it goes invisible mode to make it even more fun and challenging.
This is a potential spoiler, but I can be really wrong. I was staring at the roadmap for Sunbreak, specifically, “Title Update 2”. And one of the two figures(top one), I could not help but feel, it looks very familiar to me. I searched both Rare and Sub-species lists. Nothing matched it from the wiki pages. I then turned to google images, and that, is where I found, a “possible individual”; Diorekusu(if I spelled it right). After comparing the design and shape of its head, to the hidden figure’s, and it looks almost completely identical. I reiterate: I could be completely and 100% wrong. I just thought I would put this info out there. Love your videos guys, keep up the good work.
To me, that's a Lunastra all day long. I'd bet my next check on it. It also makes far more sense for it to be her, since she's already a 5th gen addition from World/Iceborne. Not particularly looking forward to fighting a much faster Lunastra but pretty sure i will be lol.

It’s possible she’ll be added, but if it’s going to be in Title 2 or not. We’ll have to wait and see.
I’m more of a solo player so those investigations are extremely tough to complete especially since I don’t have any at 60 yet but I’m always getting monsters I didn’t see afflicted yet like Astalos 61 or higher and I haven’t seen any yet
They could of just coded it where Stormsoul just applies to the armor base skills alone and not the augments... would of made the armors at least alright to pick up outside of the few weapons that can actually use all/minus 1-2 of the ibushi/narwa skills.
5:35 The thing with all the mantles Bahari has I don't think is true. I have never gotten a "Mantle of Origin" from the MR Narwa and I can still buy one from Bahari. I have fought the MR Narwa, I've unlocked her weapons and armor but in the materials tab there is still and "?" where the mantle should be.
it is not 12% on level 3 for SNEAK ATT, it is translation error. In Japanese, it is written as 1.2 times of your original damage which means it is 20% bonus damage.
Great video as always! As for the item exchange with Bahari, I have observed something a little different. I have had some mantles only become available once I have found one previously as you said e.g. Gore morgala, but I have had others available to me once I beat the monster but never received their mantle e.g. Rajang heart, Narwa and ibushi mantles and Goss Bile items. So either my game is broken or the prerequisite is not if you have obtained the item before but instead how high your Anomaly rank is and/or if you have defeated the monster or not before?
working as intended. It has nothing to do if you really get it or not. But how many times you've hunted monsters. I think it is 5 completed hunts will give you access to said rare drop of a monster.
I can buy many mantles I haven't seen in game before, like Zinogore and Rajang, I can buy theirs but I havent seen them. I can buy Lucent Nargacugas moon stone even though I havent seen it as well. I dont know why I can but if it is meant to work in the way of getting it first, then it isnt working properly
So I’ve been doing research requests but when ever o join a mission of the targeted monster at the exact level required it doesn’t count but if I host the quest it does And I haven’t been able to farm investigations despite doing all of this. Also I’ve completed one request and got my fifty coins but my follow up one is still at fifty
For the request rewards, I had gotten my 50, but its still 50. I have a feeling you may need to do it more than once, its random, or you need to be a specific research level
For Anomaly Investigations. They should award the credit for all the players if one player fulfilled the request. This way, regardless of who it is, whatever level that player is, or whatever monster it is it encourages team and friend play.
The Thing about the Mantles is i think wrong. I never got a Rathalos Mantle but i can still buy one. Same for Espinas. The Mantle List is super weird and sometimes even adds new Mantles and removes others. For example i cant buy Nargacuga Mantles currently even though i have 5 of its weapons fully upgraded :P
The part about the coin shop can't be accurate. Bahari offered me an Abyssal Dragonsphire even though I'd yet to get one. I almost bought it too because after 20 Gaismagorm I'd still yet to get one. Though, I did finally get one this past Sunday.
Idk if im remembering correctly but I don't think the lock on worked in 3u when narg was invisible sonyou had to look for the dirt poofs when he landed makeing the fight more intense it'd unfortunate that you can just lock on In rise but agen idk if I remember correctly and just made the fight harder for myself back then lol
The research quests rewards dont just "go to 100" I completed mine and the next tier still says 50 research coins. I dont know what actually increases it.
7:00 A simple way to fix the Research Request issue is to have the Research Request tied to the lobby. So that whenever your playing solo you have your own Research Requests to do, but when you're in a multiplayer lobby, the lobby has the Research Request that can either replace your own and be an addition of sorts.
Buying mantles from the investigation shop is a bit strange. As I somehow got the Rathalos mantel unlockt when I had gotten 0 of them. While many ohter mantles that I both had before I unlockt the shop and gotten dropt after unlocking the shop do not show up for me. Thus I have no clue what acctually triggers it.
I need an espinas mantle. I’ve killed/captured 27 of them. The mantle isn’t even listed in my Hunter notes because I’ve never seen or gotten one. Despite all that Bihari sells them for 150. I can’t buy them from him but I have never owned one. So 🤷🏻♂️

I think the Mantles are mainly for the monsters you've hunted while in Master Rank. MR Valstrax never dropped his mantle for me but he can sell me one

Gundog is still a top choice, but if you like Palicos - gatherer palicos cannot pilfer afflicted materials, and shock purrison and poison purrison work on every afflicted monster since none of them are elders. I have been running an Assist palico which was arguably the worst palico in base sunbreak but is now extremely useful. You get your nice extra wirebug/power drum but also 2 different types of traps and the silkbind which is great for anomaly monsters since you can keep the monster in one spot while you whack at the afflicted points on its body. It's especially good against something like afflicted Rathalos because he loves flying constantly and the silkbinder stops his flight while active, causing a flailing animation where he won't be attacking. Definitely worth considering.
I'm pretty sure you only have to beat a monster a certain number of times for the Mantle to show up in the shop. I was farming for an Astalos mantle specifically because it wasn't in my shop, but when I went back after a handful of mantleless runs, Bahari was suddenly stocking them

That would explain why I could buy Ibushi's windshipre from him, despite not having it never drop for me, otherwise, I'd have completed the armor set. And me and my friends hunted him at least 8 times by now.

I just found this out. While your doing melding if you push down on right stick it'll sort your materials by number available/how many you have instead of by point value. This is hudge b/c I have a tone of mid lvl mats that I can use.
There's definitely a problem with the investigation requests and how they generate. It is REALLY hard to get the right monster AND have it be a high enough anomaly level to count.
Just join other peoples' hunts, setting your level requirement + the specific monster you want (primarily the ones that appear ONLY after 51+). You can "hunt" any monster you want, if you are qualified. The only issue is, getting into a group where one random noob won't triple cart because he was carried to 51+...
To be more specific... Join ANY hunt at the appropriate investigation level. Then... AFTER you are level 51+, you can start looking for "the right" specific monster (particularly ones that require 51+). There is a saying, "Beggars can't be choosers."

People saying "join others lol". I have waited a lot with the system of searching the specific monster and lvl online. Like refreshing for like 10 min trying to find someone doing a random lvl 61 Great Baggy.
I end up putting high lvl random monster. And when you are with friend you or your friend get the short end of the stick for not doing the correct investigation.
This system could be much more better If it was like World submissions. And instead of specific monster, needs to be a specific wyvern type (Brute, fanged, bird, flying )
@@Chamadzero I primarily meant so that you can unlock the new 8 A5* hunts. Trying to find a group doing level 61+ G Baggi sounds like an act of futility... unless you have one in your investigations list. Just do a lower level hunt, unless you have an easy investigation and can just grind your own ticket.
I generally feel like the level requirements for the Investigation bonus shouldn't be there or should atleast be a lot lower. Its so rare to get a Monster you could actually need parts from right now. And if you get it its very unlikely you have an Investigation with the right level for it unless its one of the higher Tier Monsters.

@@ToxxinT199 You get get guaranteed level 81 Investigations for the A5 Monster if you do their "normal" Afflicted Quests when you unlock them at Research Level 81. But most of the time you just get more Quests for A5 Monster from these.
My current Bonus is for Level 81 Basarios. Neither do I have a Basarios of that level nor did I want to do a Basarios with that level.^^

It's to encourage people to actually grind out those lower quests and then involve other people, both to get those hunts done faster and to get access to quests you might not have.

The mantle thing is wrong, you need to have killed the monster 5 times (probably in MR) to have the mantle pop up in the shop.
I assume the elder dragons have special rules, as their gems are there and I have not fought 5 of them in MR.
This cleared up my confusion. I thought I need to see the mantle first before I showed up. But after fighting Magmadron yesterday it popped up on it owned after the quest and I didn’t even have one. However, I still never see Basarios mantle even tho I fought him more than 10 times for sure?

There's no definitive amount of times you need to kill the monster. I've never seen the mantle drop from Valstrax but it was in my list on day 1 of the update. However there are ones that I've killed over 20 times and they aren't showing. I honestly think it's random, or based on part breaks or something obscure like that
It’s weird that you can track Lucent with the focus cam while it’s invisible, but you can’t track an invisible Chameleos the same way. Your cam just stops following Chameleos until it reappears.
Someone else mentioned that Lucent also doesn't leave from the mini map so they must have very different invisibility types. I know that Lucent redirects moonlight for actual invisibility and Chameleos probably (I know hardly anything about MH) camouflages into it's environment.
Chameleos also doesn't have glowing red eyes you can track, unlike Lucent.
Lucent isn't hard to find anyway.
But if he's enraged, you can look for the puffs of steam coming from his mouth.

Its like the debs want the set to be bad. You aren't going full power with 4 pieces of ibushi/narwa anyway. Why they don't let it boost the other armor's qurio skill?
Another thing to note is when farming for investigations is that breaking monter parts also grants investigations so partbreaker is highly recommended. What is not as obvious is that it is any monster on the maps parts that can be broken not just the anomaly targets parts.
I found that in the Citadel map during the day and night you can actually see the Gargolda flying over the map when its not perched in its spot for its photo opportunity.
It seems like it circles over zones 3, 4 and 14 specifically. That is where I have seen it fly usually multiple times. So if you climb the tall structures there you should see it at times when its not perched.
With Storm Soul skill it's poorly worded because it says it will just upgrade other skills by 1+ or 2+ if you have it on max.
It doesn't mention that it's only for skills on the armor. It could have been a fun set to play with if any decorations slotted in could be maxed as well and with it only being able to have rank 2 slots you only have on weapon and amulet for those Rank 3 and 4 skills.
To talk about Bahari and the mantle shop, me and my friends assume how the mantle shows up in the shop is if you complete one of the following: 1 Get the mantle as a drop, 2 For Rise monsters hunt 10 times, 3 For Sunbreak monsters 5 times. This is what we concluded after comparing out lists and what we hunted. To reiterate this is what we noticed and not definitive.
9:05 Mine didn't go up to 100x after I completed the first on for 50x, I had to do 2 of the 50x before I got a 100x.
I always find it funny how one change could instantly make ibushi/narwa sets meta. Even if stormsoul didn't apply to your talisman, even if they can't roll new skills through qurious crafting, if the skills you are allowed to slot into the armor itself were to be affected, it would instantly become meta viable if not the best of the meta. Just one weakness exploit deco would be worth 3 and the same would go for crit boost and other skills.
You could pull up with almost every comfort skill in the game on top of wex 3, crit boost 3, crit element 3, protective polish 3, and another skill of your choosing.
All with one simple change (which is probably the exact reason the devs have refused to do so up to now, still its fun to imagine what could have been)
Gunlance with ibu narwa set is quite good for farming money and wide shelling stylr
A mix of narwa and ibushi is actually fairly good for charge blade.
A good way i found to farm new investigations, is to simply fight an afflicted rakna-kadaki. You can break off the webbing on her feet for new investigations, and then repeat everytime they grow back. I got the max of 8 new investigations per hunt this way.
You have to mix ibushi and narwa to get the skills you want, you might go from lvl2- max on these skills, just mess around with matching the pieces and find what you’re looking for.
Its very interesting, its a cool play on the whole “mix sets” meta, while also staying true their story as well
Another thing I found out - you have a chance to get an Afflicted Dire Horn from gathering from Afflicted Zinogre's back while it's down and flailing on the ground, just as you would from carving its body, tail or breaking one of its parts.
You can mine Basarios for afflicted parts when he is down as well
Sneak attack actually increases all damage originating from behind the monster. That means gunlance shelling is boosted by sneak attack as is the hunting horn egg if it pops behind the monster. Sneak attack also works if you shoot a monster with peirce amo and the shot travels through the body and into the head. On small monsters you can stand behind the monster and still hit parts like the head and forelimbs. The area of effect is super generous it's pretty much any ware 180^o behind the monster's center line. For most monsters you can stand next to the hindlegs which tends to be a spot monster have trouble hitting.
on the first tip: Do not change your option to focus camera, just leave it as target camera, then press the right stick to target the monster. When the monster is targeted just press L1 and your camera will reset to the monsters position. It is also really good against Valstraxes Ambush, just spam L1 and you can see exactly where he is and when you have to dive. Or just use this feature as a full replacement for the right stick in combat. That last point isn't to relevant nowadays but was very important on the older games where camera controls where a nightmare.
The ibushi set is one of the best sets for defensive gunlance, you have to mix it with the other set but it's amazing for wide shelling only build. Most people have moved on to sneak attack because it effects shelling also , but it you need to tank up Ibushi is king.
Use Lucent's legs with the ibushi narwa mix set. A decent charm for artillery or load shells. Then slot in any other skill you want topped off
Narwa and Ibushi sets are mixed for comfort. i would recommend for dual blades in particular using the Ibushi helm, gloves, and waist with the Narwa chest and legs using your talisman and the 2 slots in the armor to get weakness exploit and crit boost and curious crafting for extra slots as if nothing else you can get your element attack decorations added.

StormSoul 5 (+2 to armor skills not from decorations or Taisman)

For gathering at all the points with qurios - returning from the quest within 5 minutes will not progress time, so if you have a particularly good research request you can farm investigations without losing it

i got a Secret for ya, The ladder on the platform in Elgado below the Cohoot gathering nest is actually climbable, no Wire-bugging or wall-running needed.
Narwa/Ibushi isn't double level... its +1 level @level 4 Stormsoul... and +2 @level 5... you can have a decent Dual Blades set...
You do not need to have acquired the mantle previously, as I’ve not acquired a Gore mantle yet it’s in the shop

Everytime that I have successfully joined an investigation that I need I have not received that same investigation after completing the hunt. Ive had that happen every time so far.
Allmother set has a bunch of comfort skills on it and stromsoul boost thunder and dragon element damage. Being able to mix ibushi and narwa peices means you should be able to get a combination of skills that works for your weapon. Also with 4 pieces the armor skills on the 5th piece get +1. The armor can gain slots from augmentation so you can get a couple ranks of damage boosting skills like attack up or weakness exploit.
8:41 as a DB main as well, that is my exact pain with Anjanath. I end up resorting to activating Demon Flight with the legs, get a few slashes in, and run down the spine.
I *always* play target lock on when im hunting monsters because panning the cam myself is a hassle, and to say the least I was a little bit disappointed but also in a way relieved that it exposed where Lucent Narga was while invisible. I wish it worked kind of like Chameleos when it went foggy invisible, but at the same time i like how easier it made Lucent for me.. lol
The Research Requests should sync to the lobby host when you are in a lobby. It's really a big miss when a lot of people have hunting groups they typically play with, not randoms.
I like mixing the ibushi and narwa armor so I can have the skills I want for those sets true its not a meta set but still fun to use like he said if u have constitute n don't need guard just put another piece of armor its really fun
If you want to unlock the max anomaly research per hunt, you can grind Rakna-Kadaki since broken parts give info on quests
Dont forget that you can mix and match narwa and ibushi parts. It's actually a very good elemental thunder CB set
They need to remove the level requirement on those quests, just the monster they want us to hunt.
Watching you miss those 4 vaults in a row on that Angi was something I felt in my soul.
Mix of narwa and ibushi applies to charge blade. Try Narwa head, arms, waist, Ibushi chest and legs. All relevant CB skills for raw impact CB. Also thunder/dragon element phials by using Silver Rath chest.
That last one hurt. I was spending all my time getting this armor set and mats only to learn it doesn't work
The Ibushi and Narwa sets can be combined for an extremly good Impact Chargeblade Saed Build.
Speaking of Narwa, Ibushi and Quirio skills, you can always replace 1 of the set with any other piece of armor and get a double up of any skills they offer. This includes set-specific skills.
Still you don't get a bonus +1 to the new skill of an augmented armor wich is so stupid. Like the set is already mid at best. Let it shine at least with a +1 to the new qurio skill of another armor.
You don't need to use focus camera. Target camera will also track Lucent Narg while it's invisible.
I've heard other creators say that the request rewards goes up to 100 after the first one too, but that's actually not true. I completed mine, and my new request is also only 50 coins again. Was pretty bummed out about it. It might be based on your Anomaly Rank or something

My second set is a 100 coin reward so its either anomaly rank or random.

Actually no, that's not the case. You don't have to get the mantle first in order for it to show up in Bahari's shop. You actually just have to fight the monsters 5 times or more in order to get those mantles to show up. As I discovered with Magma Almudron. I have yet to get a "Mantle of Origin" "Red Dragonsphire" or a "Magmadron Mantle" And yet they are in the shop for me.
Though the way I figured it out was "Magmadron Mantles" were not showing up in the shop for me at first, until I had finally hunted Magma Almudron for the 5th time and it finally showed up in the shop. And I still have yet to get one.
I have confirmed what Redcrimson is saying in his comment about how you don't actually NEED to acquire a mantle to be able to buy one. I can currently buy Ibushi's Windsphire from Bahari, despite never having got one during the many hunts I have currently done of Master Rank Ibushi, the Windsphire is currently marked as "????" in my notes.
Also, acquiring the mantle DOES NOT unlock it for purchase. This is because, from what I've seen in other videos, Furious Rajang's "mantle", it's heart, can be bought from the shop, yet, desptie having got the heart, it has not unlocked in the shop. I've also looked at other mantles I've collected and did not see them in the shop as I've only hunted the monster once or twice. Such as the Abyssal Dragonshire, which I have one of due to having hunted Gaismagorm once, so it is not in the shop.
What I find is odd with the anomaly research lab is that even though I never got a wind dragonsphire from Ibushi, the item is in the research lab.

@@DevonGarrett I kind of wish I was in your position, since Rathian mantles are dropping in my item box like flies. The game even had the gull to mock me by dropping rathian mantles in the rathian and magmadron support survey a couple times.

It is entirely possible to do so without screwing’s friend’s Investigation: friend post quest, load into hunt, you friend would abandon the quest and you are now in the quest with the correct target monster, and your friend would still have the same quest remaining for the investigation

tracking lucent narga can be funny, when i first hunted him i without realizing it, hit him with some of my melody combos on HH when i didn't mean to/was just playing the songs in the meantime, and even was just walking and found him by um running into him so he blocked off where i was going while he was shortly immobile.
that's alwasy been a thing though, hasn't it? break monster parts and some will take more damage/have a better hit zone but i guess with the metal raths it's more of an extreme case.
with sneak attack, there's also this neat little glitch, it's 100% a gitch because it's a gl buff, shelling benefits from this skill when it is normally notorious for not benefiting form most damage skills. fun for while i lasts but don't expect it to stick around.

yes, to use Bahari for optimal blasphemy/avoiding the scornful eye in the sky of Sowron RNJesus you have to have been blessed by him at least once per mantle. i'm meming here, i'm all for this system but it's just funny to mock.
if you could qurious craft on serpent armor that would turn into a more OP version of the old atlal ka armor where skill points were doubled with all the skills it has that will be at decent levels with the set bonus buffing them.
I definately had access to a Nargacuga mantle in Baharis item exchange before i got a Narga mantle. Got my first one yesterday, but i could already trade for it before then.
About the bahari shop, I've never ever dropped the seregios's mantle, trust me I tried, but I can buy it for 150 coins.
In my opinion, being able to lock onto Lucent using the lock-on button feels very cheesy. I mean, it doesn't give you faster hunt times but it somewhat ruins the immersion for me so every time I fight it, I don't click the lock-on button when it goes invisible mode to make it even more fun and challenging.

I was staring at the roadmap for Sunbreak, specifically, “Title Update 2”. And one of the two figures(top one), I could not help but feel, it looks very familiar to me. I searched both Rare and Sub-species lists. Nothing matched it from the wiki pages.
I then turned to google images, and that, is where I found, a “possible individual”; Diorekusu(if I spelled it right).
After comparing the design and shape of its head, to the hidden figure’s, and it looks almost completely identical.
I reiterate: I could be completely and 100% wrong. I just thought I would put this info out there.

To me, that's a Lunastra all day long. I'd bet my next check on it. It also makes far more sense for it to be her, since she's already a 5th gen addition from World/Iceborne. Not particularly looking forward to fighting a much faster Lunastra but pretty sure i will be lol.

I’m more of a solo player so those investigations are extremely tough to complete especially since I don’t have any at 60 yet but I’m always getting monsters I didn’t see afflicted yet like Astalos 61 or higher and I haven’t seen any yet

5:35 The thing with all the mantles Bahari has I don't think is true. I have never gotten a "Mantle of Origin" from the MR Narwa and I can still buy one from Bahari. I have fought the MR Narwa, I've unlocked her weapons and armor but in the materials tab there is still and "?" where the mantle should be.
It's for sure that u don't need to already have the mantle. U need to hunt the monster 5 times - after that the mantle will be available for buying.
The camera trick to track invisible monsters ONLY works on Lucent Nargacuga. It DOES NOT WORK on Chameleos.

it is not 12% on level 3 for SNEAK ATT, it is translation error. In Japanese, it is written as 1.2 times of your original damage which means it is 20% bonus damage.

Great video as always! As for the item exchange with Bahari, I have observed something a little different. I have had some mantles only become available once I have found one previously as you said e.g. Gore morgala, but I have had others available to me once I beat the monster but never received their mantle e.g. Rajang heart, Narwa and ibushi mantles and Goss Bile items. So either my game is broken or the prerequisite is not if you have obtained the item before but instead how high your Anomaly rank is and/or if you have defeated the monster or not before?

I can buy many mantles I haven't seen in game before, like Zinogore and Rajang, I can buy theirs but I havent seen them. I can buy Lucent Nargacugas moon stone even though I havent seen it as well. I dont know why I can but if it is meant to work in the way of getting it first, then it isnt working properly

So I’ve been doing research requests but when ever o join a mission of the targeted monster at the exact level required it doesn’t count but if I host the quest it does And I haven’t been able to farm investigations despite doing all of this. Also I’ve completed one request and got my fifty coins but my follow up one is still at fifty
For the request rewards, I had gotten my 50, but its still 50. I have a feeling you may need to do it more than once, its random, or you need to be a specific research level
This is a nice detail to point out. Probably has similar mechanics as to how some started with research lvl 11, 21 or 31.
Note about the aflicted quest you join, it is NOT guaranteed you get the monster you just hunt
For Anomaly Investigations. They should award the credit for all the players if one player fulfilled the request. This way, regardless of who it is, whatever level that player is, or whatever monster it is it encourages team and friend play.
That'd be great with two players going after the afflicted and the others going after a bonus monster each for max rewards to everyone.

The Thing about the Mantles is i think wrong. I never got a Rathalos Mantle but i can still buy one. Same for Espinas. The Mantle List is super weird and sometimes even adds new Mantles and removes others. For example i cant buy Nargacuga Mantles currently even though i have 5 of its weapons fully upgraded :P

The research quests rewards dont just "go to 100" I completed mine and the next tier still says 50 research coins. I dont know what actually increases it.
7:00 A simple way to fix the Research Request issue is to have the Research Request tied to the lobby. So that whenever your playing solo you have your own Research Requests to do, but when you're in a multiplayer lobby, the lobby has the Research Request that can either replace your own and be an addition of sorts.
Sneak attack lvl 3 isn't only 12%. It's 20%. It just has the wrong description on it

Buying mantles from the investigation shop is a bit strange. As I somehow got the Rathalos mantel unlockt when I had gotten 0 of them. While many ohter mantles that I both had before I unlockt the shop and gotten dropt after unlocking the shop do not show up for me. Thus I have no clue what acctually triggers it.
It seems to be having hunted the monster a certain number of times, with the actual rank you hunted it at seeming to not matter.

I need an espinas mantle. I’ve killed/captured 27 of them. The mantle isn’t even listed in my Hunter notes because I’ve never seen or gotten one. Despite all that Bihari sells them for 150. I can’t buy them from him but I have never owned one. So 🤷🏻♂️
