I was worried that the Research Requests required you to hunt the specific monster within a set amount of hunts, otherwise you’d lose all progress in your Completion Rewards. I got to the 8th node, but then my request when to a Shogun Ceanataur. Ngl, I’m not a big fan of that monster due to the bleeding mechanic, so I was worried I would be forced to fight it or risk losing my progress in the completion rewards.
The biggest problem I'm having is me and feiens have different Guild requests from Bahari. So we're incentivived to play separately or loss out on all of beautiful investigation coins and the points multiplier.
Wait, doesn't it refresh after 4 hunts? So the 5th hunt is a new Monster. Which means that you can just do all 4 Hunts (you and your 3 mates) and you'll still complete the card. Keep a rotation going and no one will ever be fucked over as well.
@@MercuryAlphaInc Yea it does. But if I'm on Bishaten and my mates have wroggi/ nargacuga then 2 of us will always be getting less points and this also means more hunts before finishing card request. All they have to do is set it up so you can " Align" your research or do like " Group" research. They could make it so you can only do it once every few hours or so to avoid people all manipulating the system to only hunt things they specifically want. Like Oh I need magnamalo I'll just go align with someone with magnamalo research for 1 quest then switch to another afterwards
There's that and if you have friends who don't play as often they can't hunt investigations at your level. I think there are all locked between the 10s so someone at 80 can't put up a 75 lvl quests and play with someone anomaly level 37. I don't like that at all.
So what determines the gems you can buy. I've never made anything anjanath, have 0 mantles, but can by them unlike in the video. Yet at the same time I have a Rajang Heart sitting in my box and cannot buy them. What sort of hidden requirement is there?
Yeah, the research request system is really bad for when you're playing with friends in a lobby. Everyone gets a different monster, which means that only a single person gets credit toward the research. It's not a good system for people that just want to play with their friends as opposed to random people online. Imo, everyone should have the same monster objective when playing in a multiplayer lobby, or the number of quests that you need should be scaled based on the number of people in the lobby. For example, 5 each for 2 players, 3 each for 3 players, and 2 each for 4 players.
but 300 coins for a mantle, at 60 coins per request card, you're looking at 50 hunts, for 300 coins. I feel like the hundreds of hours I've put into this game has been zillions of hunts, but it's actually surprisingly few, like 500ish total monsters for the ENTIRE life of the game so far. So if you're spending 50 hunts/300 coins on a single mantle instead of farming it, it's a big commitment. That said, it's super cool as an option over time when you really just need that one mantle real quick.
Got a question: So lets say i leveled up enough on anomaly research and wanted just an afflicted bone, starter stuff. I can't find the quest to farm them, can I? Like i can't select the level of the monster so the item would drop, hope i make sense with my question. Thank you
How do you get the A5* anomaly quests? Cuz I’m at level 78 with the investigations and I still don’t have it. Am I missing something or am I doing something wrong?
I always hunt with 2 of my friends in the same lobby, is there any way we can get the same anomaly investigation research request or is it always random for everyone?
When I started research quests I only had Big Izuchi and rank 1 anomaly quests monsters like lagombi or Arzuros... Do I have to do the normal anomaly quests in order to unlock new monsters for the investigation ones ?
Bought mantles and rare parts from the melder in iceborn so this is just different currency and same rule that you can't get it unless you got one from a hunt already
thx for this. Thought I had to get 10points on the card with the current monster... Couldn't figure out how to do that, as all the afflicted items didn't fill it up. Been holding out since because of it xD
@@DevilJhoMama it didn’t say anything about it but in the presentation, they said the monsters will get harder and harder though of course that also counts quest conditions and target monsters. I know this video was a few months ago so people might not see my comment. But I'm trying to find the balance between doing MR quests and anomaly quests. Currently my 3 urgent quests are Ibushi, Seething Bazelgeuse, Flaming Espinas. I hope this comment makes sense lol
So does anyone know yet if the materials are separated by what tier of monster your fighting (like when they were 1*, 2*, etc) or just how high level they are? Take something super weak like Great Baggi for example: Can he reach level 99 and does that mean you get top grade materials like prime Amber or just a boat load more of beginner anomaly materials ? Wouldn’t be surprised if the best stuff was locked behind the current top monsters like lunagaron but still curious if there was any benefit from low monsters being brought that much higher up?
There's an upgraded tier of every original afflicted material. EG, normal leveled Afflicted Rathian drops afflicted scales, which then become afflicted scales+ once it reaches something like 15 levels above its minimal level for showing up in invests. No idea if certain monsters will drop better Ambers but I doubt it.
one slight issue there hollow, in the tutorial for qurio investigations, they specifically said that you cannot do it if the main objective has been completed, you cannot get investigations if you have beaten the quest you are on, you must do it during that period.
Nodes seem to stop SPAWNING after the monster has been slain, but you can still farm ones that were already around. They do slowly cycle, however. It seems they only stay afflicted for a minute or two at most, but you can in fact find some other gathering points after you finish carving.
doing online hunts with randoms is just playing russian roulette with more bullets im good with just carting arena rajang couple times to reset the target monster
It seems for the buying mantles, you have to of have gathered it naturally at least once before. Also after I believe AR 51 you can join flagship anomaly quests or A5 quests through multi-player, if you play solo they seem to unlock at 80
Nah, you only need to have fought (and beaten) the monster at least once. I was able to buy a mantle that I’ve never obtained. I’ve had an item requiring the mantle on my wishlist forever, so I would have known if I obtained it before.
@@thelegendbushido Half right for you. I JUST NOW experienced what I believe needs to be done. I hunted down an Afflicted Magmadron, and never got it’s mantle EVER, yet I looked and found his mantle for sale. After looking, it seems you need to have hunted the monster at least 5 times in order for it to be on sale. The consistency seems to stand for my end, as I got a mantle from Malzeno on sale on my 5th hunt with her (I also got one from her tail on the same hunt so I couldn’t tell the pattern then, Magmadron was my confirmation) I also had plenty of monsters that I got mantles from naturally, yet never showed up. In short, hunt a monster 5 times and the mantle, or whatever their respective name is, should be in the shop.
Here's the problem with multiplayer I think many are having. The skill gap between top tier players and average players is now huge and Sunbreak's difficulty is made for those top tier players. The difficulty has spiked so high that average players simply cannot keep up and there's not enough great players to go around. I'd rate myself a C player and I am having a very hard time, needing to run max defense sets (def boost 7, divine prot 3, fortify, stun res 3 etc) and use cheap tactics like trap spamming, this is way harder than Iceborne, which I breezed through rarely carting and without a single quest fail. So if you're a B or A or S tier player you're going to have a hell of time finding teammates that can pull their weight. This will get better as some average players get better and many more quit the game. But I think Capcom might need to put matchmaking system in place for future MH games.
I agree with the matchmaking that would be a huge QOL change. I personally don’t mind carrying people as long as we don’t get back to back carted in the first 5 minutes but I can definitely see the turn away of having higher/lower skilled people on your team
I think something that contributes to these issues is a lot of average players (Counting myself among those ranks) playing builds that are considered Meta. Those builds are great for those higher skilled top-tier players but absolute cart eaters in the hands of an average player. Remember my fellow average hunters; play to your ability, not to the Meta.
How would matchmaking help you though? Why would you want to match with players of your skill level? The difficulty wouldn’t change and you would still be struggling. Not to mention a massive part of mh is about helping everyone no matter the skill level. Or at least that’s how I see it.
Is it really that big an issue online? Sure the random teammate triple carting can happen from time to time but that's been the case ever since the adhoc psp days. I don't know how you would properly measure someone's rank in monster hunter for match making anyways.
Because Apex's can return in Investigations and drop Melding Pudding, so while there isnt any Rampage Weapons to work with they are still good for the Tali Grind
I feel like I wasted so much effort. I did all the Anomaly quest on title 1 update then I started investigations started out at level 1 still with all the thing I been grabing, killing afflicted all wasted because I didn't start the investigating 1st...
Okay another thing, the afflicted you started out with in investigations seem to die faster than the normal anomaly quests we’re used to. My assumption is that there will be a point where investigation monsters will be more powerful than anomaly quest monsters at a high enough level. The reason I think this is that some monsters, most notably magnamalo, seem to give me faster kill times but maybe at level 100, they will take a lot longer
Absolutely. Lv 50 is when most hunts seem to start getting serious, like more difficult than the base Anomaly Quests we had in Sunbreak before TU 1. Levelling increases Monster Health and Damage, potentially makes them slightly faster as well.
If you can, it'd work the same way Load in, turn off auto save, roll your armor Happy with it? Save and move on Not happy with it? Turn the game off and back on and try again You may need to do 1 quest cycle before trying again
My research requests have been completely impossible the last day. Like there is no physical way for me yo get my lvl 6 great baggi to level 41 within 5 hunts is there?
@@Dongle82 It's really not that bad though. The new skills are fairly cheap in terms of their investment in armor. And with augmenting, you can still get your bread and butter skills in there between increased deco slots and skill additions (lets just ignore the probability of achieving your desired results for now). Most of the new stuff has a 3 or a 4 deco slot on top of others. The Astalos Helm for example can potentially have 4 - 3 - 2 deco slots plus chain crit and its other skill. That's a whole lot of flexibility. As a CB main, I can finally swap out the Almudron helm for something else thanks to augmenting and the rapid morph 4 deco. It's a good system if you're willing to rethink how you approach a build. That RNG though... yeesh.
@@rainbowkrampus i was scared the rng for augments was gonna be as horrible as talismans but its pretty good so far. im not able to augment orange armor pieces yet but for blue and purple pieces ive gotten pretty lucky with my augments and have gotten quality of life skills without losing anything on all my element builds. That being said, I had to cap 8 Almudron to get a single tail for the villager quest. I even chopped it twice, but carving the tail didn't give me a tail... Which is an 80% chance.
And here I am, trying to get one more plate and my Palico keeps pilfering tails.
You don't loose progression you don't like what you see just quest cycle it until you get something your comfortable with
Gourmet fish, even if you aren't fighting bleed monsters it's really useful for when you take huge hits. It's just a part of my regular inventory now.
Just pick up a few anti dobras.
Picking up afflicted stuff after the hunt is over does not give you any points. It even says so in the patch notes.
Question. Does the monster itself gets harder the higher the investigation level or is it simply the circumstances around it, like time limit?
harder and more item
@@cheemslord9917 Harder as in monster deals more damage or has more health? Or harder as in shorter time limits etc?
I don't think it gets harder as in having new moveset or attack faster, but as in increase of health. I'm using HunterPie to verify that increase.
I heard someone say they do more damage but havent verified it
so is it best to do anomaly investigation first or anomal quest?
GRIND! FOR THE GRIND GUILD.
you also get a lot of points from the curio stuff gather 3 and you get about the same points as braking a part
I went around the entirety of Sand Plains and didn't get an investigation until the 10th gather. It's random
I tried searching a specific monster at certain level. I got tossed into quest of said level but the monster I was looking for wasn’t involved at all
Yeah, the research request system is really bad for when you're playing with friends in a lobby.
For example, 5 each for 2 players, 3 each for 3 players, and 2 each for 4 players.
just share quest
Absolutely
@@cheemslord9917
what?
That had nothing to do with everyone having different research requests.
Thank you for explaining.
My question is
Do you still get the afflicted rewards doing the quest. Instead of doing the investigations??
but 300 coins for a mantle, at 60 coins per request card, you're looking at 50 hunts, for 300 coins.
Funfact Investigations with multi Monsters can even have apex Monster in them, I Just got one with a apex arzuros
What’s the difference between the quests vs investigations? I find like 3 afflicted drops from the A5 monsters but none from quests?
I always hunt with 2 of my friends in the same lobby, is there any way we can get the same anomaly investigation research request or is it always random for everyone?
Thanks for the video really helpful !
you can also get a4 investigations early by doing a4 quests
The higher levels would unlock via how many anomaly quests you've done. Makes since why 30 was my starting highest
sense*
And I see what you're saying.
Dude the shop to buy Mantles is so good I need 9ish mantles for all Gore magala weapons and 11-12 for shaggy
When I started research quests I only had Big Izuchi and rank 1 anomaly quests monsters like lagombi or Arzuros... Do I have to do the normal anomaly quests in order to unlock new monsters for the investigation ones ?
So it's "Guiding Lands" without the "Lands"
more like guild quest
So do you just instantly unlock the A5☆ quests once your research level is above 50?
Can’t wait to see a Lv 80 G.Izuchi investigation xDD
Bought mantles and rare parts from the melder in iceborn so this is just different currency and same rule that you can't get it unless you got one from a hunt already
Yea good luck trying to find a level 41 or higher great baggi
thx for this. Thought I had to get 10points on the card with the current monster... Couldn't figure out how to do that, as all the afflicted items didn't fill it up. Been holding out since because of it xD
Do higher levels of the same monster deal more damage and have more health?
I think they just offer better rewards but I honestly forget sorry, you can read about it in hunter info in the menu though.
@@DevilJhoMama it didn’t say anything about it but in the presentation, they said the monsters will get harder and harder though of course that also counts quest conditions and target monsters. Additionally, I just fought a level 1 arzuros and a level 60 one and the 60 seemed to take a bit longer but I can’t tell for sure if it was a difference in how much health they had
@@DevilJhoMama okay check again and it says “by raising your research level, you can take on more difficult quests and gain better rewards”
remember pick red item around the map
I know this video was a few months ago so people might not see my comment. But I'm trying to find the balance between doing MR quests and anomaly quests. I'm currently only doing one star anomaly quests/investigations, I feel like having qurious crafting weapons/armor could help with some of the MR monsters I'm on now? Currently my 3 urgent quests are Ibushi, Seething Bazelgeuse, Flaming Espinas. I hope this comment makes sense lol
So does anyone know yet if the materials are separated by what tier of monster your fighting (like when they were 1*, 2*, etc) or just how high level they are? Take something super weak like Great Baggi for example:
Can he reach level 99 and does that mean you get top grade materials like prime Amber or just a boat load more of beginner anomaly materials ? Wouldn’t be surprised if the best stuff was locked behind the current top monsters like lunagaron but still curious if there was any benefit from low monsters being brought that much higher up?
There's an upgraded tier of every original afflicted material. EG, normal leveled Afflicted Rathian drops afflicted scales, which then become afflicted scales+ once it reaches something like 15 levels above its minimal level for showing up in invests. No idea if certain monsters will drop better Ambers but I doubt it.
Im somehwat dont understand the point in saving the quests. Is it to get the same resource? Can someone please explain?
has anyone passed level 80+ yet? are there new monsters after this? for example maybe Malzeno, Teostra etc?
Why would I ever want to lock a quest from being deleted? I just can’t think of a scenario where I’d feel the need. Can anyone explain?
one slight issue there hollow, in the tutorial for qurio investigations, they specifically said that you cannot do it if the main objective has been completed, you cannot get investigations if you have beaten the quest you are on, you must do it during that period.
Thats not true tho ive gathered after killing the monster already
Nodes seem to stop SPAWNING after the monster has been slain, but you can still farm ones that were already around. They do slowly cycle, however. It seems they only stay afflicted for a minute or two at most, but you can in fact find some other gathering points after you finish carving.
doing online hunts with randoms is just playing russian roulette with more bullets
im good with just carting arena rajang couple times to reset the target monster
Would hate to see that happen
I don't know how you would properly measure someone's rank in monster hunter for match making anyways.
man i just got a 3 monster quest. but why was there a apex azuros in it???
Because Apex's can return in Investigations and drop Melding Pudding, so while there isnt any Rampage Weapons to work with they are still good for the Tali Grind
@@drxavier1870 they are also just genuinely fun land challenging lol
@@epsilon1372 indeed
So it seems like this system hates you if you play with friends and must either be done solo or with randoms. WHY?
I feel like I wasted so much effort. I did all the Anomaly quest on title 1 update then I started investigations started out at level 1 still with all the thing I been grabing, killing afflicted all wasted because I didn't start the investigating 1st...
3:33 weird that all the other players are gone...
When will the lies stop?
You get more than one coin per quest once you get to a certain level. I've gotten 5-6 in one hunt before
Whoa. How?
@@stripedrajang3571 it just happens. Nearly every hunt since lvl 61-81 area
Does a Monster being a higher level make it more difficult?
From my experience, it seems possible but I’m not sure. I’m comparing a level 2 azuros to a level 60
I have one question tho
Can you save scum on rerolling armor augmentation like rerolling talisman? If so can you do a tutorial? Thanks
If you can, it'd work the same way
Load in, turn off auto save, roll your armor
Happy with it? Save and move on
Not happy with it? Turn the game off and back on and try again
You may need to do 1 quest cycle before trying again
i know i’m late to this but how come on my item exchange pages i don’t have rajang heart to trade coins for?
Can someone explain anomaly quest to me that m very confused what’s the difference from anomaly investigation?
My research requests have been completely impossible the last day. Like there is no physical way for me yo get my lvl 6 great baggi to level 41 within 5 hunts is there?
Can you get element exploit as an added skill from armor augmentation? Cause if so I could make my dual blades builds damn near perfect.
Doesn't look like it. So far, if it can't be on a charm it can't be on an augment.
This could change as more info comes together though.
@@rainbowkrampus damn that's unfortunate, I guess the only other thing that could be a work around is if it becomes a deco
Before augments all my builds except water had only level 2 speed sharp and no stun resist, now all my builds have max speed sharp and 2 stun resist. That on its own without augmenting the orange pieces yet is amazing.
Now the only thing I'm missing is 2 levels of attack boost and element exploit and that would be all the good basic offensive skills.
Does someone knows what the cap of that investigations is?...im now on 82...and make that sense to push it higher?....sorry for my bad english ^^

I agree though I think the intention is to encourage taking on the research investigations
do bahari quest
I found on Multi-Monster hunts you tend to get more coins. Pretty sure I've gotten 6+ coins on a triple monster hunt at Lv 40+. But I think you're definitely intended to get them on the side by doing Bahari's requests.
