I'm not the biggest fan of the armor RNG, but I like the weapon augmentation system as it will help widen the viability of so many weapons so you aren't forced to using a select few.
The armor RNG isn't too harsh tbh, unless of course perfect min max is your thing. But adding QoL skills to a build that previously had none, isn't a hard thing to do. I was able to add full consituation to a bow build of mine that was using sub optimal ways of Stam management. It's all how you use the system, not how the system uses you
I would like a system where you could donate monster parts and/or other resources for an augment, but the monster parts are what change. For example, you want to add some wex to the legs? Go get some Volvison, Pukei and Kushala pieces. Then if you want another one, better go fight Ibushi and Tigrex. Keeps from having to farm one monster over and over, like how we had to eradicate poor Namielle for the health augments in Iceborne xD
Actually a pretty great idea. I would love to see something that influences the rng, so it's slightly better than just constantly rolling and hoping. I do like how they try to get you to hunt different monsters because of the investigation requests, but the coin prices are crazy lol.
This is probably my best chance to get some evade extender on some of my pure damage builds that force me to sacrifice comfort for damage. This system is probably best for getting a bunch of comfort skills that you may need to give up for cetain builds, meaning you no longer have to sacrifice one for the other. Also the thing where you can lose a skill point may not be all that bad. I have a friend who uses a comfort set that unfortunately has ammo up despite using a great sword. If he were to lose any of those ammo up skills it would be no harm to his set. Theres probably many sets that use pieces for their slots but have many throwaway skills, so sacrificing them for something stronger is just an overall upgrade.
Exactly, its a great system IMO. I use GS as well and have built a comfy Malzeno with Gold rath chest armour mixed set. Thanks to the new system I was able to add Evade extender lvl1 and 2 levels of Offensive Guard. Needless to say the build is a lot more viable with strong-arm now.
Yup. Already got evade extender on my malzeno chest. And i am using sailor belt for 3 protective polish, but it also cones with 3 ballistics. Would be cool to swap it with smth useful. Great system i would say
Same here, I’m having a fun with this system. Best way I’m using it is I’m aiming for skills that are fairly universal, as many of my sets have a chance of having a same piece of armor. (If I put focus on one, it’ll be good for GS, but I could be using it for a Lance set as well; may be rare moments in the future I need to make a duplicate armor piece, but idc) I was shocked that you can lose armor skills too, but still saw potential anyways. I ended up getting an augmented Volvidon Arms with 51+ defense with Speed Eating, but lost 2 Thunder Res & Earplugs. Never use earplugs and I’m using a thunder weapon anyways! As I use a majority of the Weapons (Nearly 60 different loadouts, Bowguns are work in progress for playing with), I’m happy for all the variety that can come from this, and considering all of this personally, the positives certainly outweigh the negatives. And this is the FIRST UPDATE, this most likely will be expanded upon, with more to offer!
Looking at the weapon augment system, I can almost guarantee we will get more slots to use in the future. There is clearly space made for more slots, and the devs can later then add tougher monsters that we need materials from to unlock more slots , in addition to extra augments
I agree, I instantly thought you can fit another 5 slots in there and when they make 6 star anomaly quests like elder dragons and other reaming monsters there material can be used to get them. Also has anyone wondered what the powered up monsters mean in update 2, is that more afflicted monsters or a new type of monster all together?
@@nathangomez6888 i feel like we might get Apex mosters similar to 4U. Except afflicted. Maybe there will be monsters strong enough to control the qurio and become apex-like.
The system is really good for giving you skills that you only need 1 rank of to make a big difference, such as chain crit and slugger that you would otherwise just not have space for in a regular build.
Yea its great. I wanted to start using Strongarm stance more on my GS and thanks to this system I gained a level of Offensive guard + another from the 3 slot on Gold rath's armour to get to that sweet 10% buff.
Something I felt was important to me was to set the realistic idea in my head that the RNG and qurio system CAN give amazing skills, but because it's RNG I should not expect that all of my armor pieces will give me them, and thus I shouldn't add in augmentations into the calculations when building a set as then you're just asking for RNG hell. Additionally there seems to be a "pity" system if you keep a skill enough times where you get better chance for rarer stuff which it's probably also good to incrementally pick skills over just hoping the 5 first rolls are going to be good.
I know a lot of people complain about the random Armor Augments. But I honestly somewhat like it. I know there are a bunch of people who need THE BEST OF THE BEST AND EVERYTHING ELSE IS A WASTE OF TIME! But I'm just happy to get some comfort skills as a bonus. Fortify just as an extra on my pants? Yeah I take it. Especially with how hard Monsters hit. Turning a 1 Slot into a 2 Slot? Gimme. Evade Etender on my gloves so I don't have to extra slot it in? Nice!
Yea same and good skills don’t actually seem to be too rare. I’ve already gotten chain crit on something, attackboost on something the rng doesn’t seem toooo bad and the investigations seem to give a decent amount of amber
I agree, you play to hunt, get rewards, and take advantage of the rng loot even if it might not be the best... it's the gameplay cycle... though I know in pc, modding is possible so if they don't like the randomness, they can use that... though what is the point of hunting anymore unless you are a speed runner which isn't a lot of people
I fear for Title Updates more than anything In Iceborne everything from Raiging Brachydios onward was obnoxious at first because it required the upgrage unlock argument for not taking stupidly huge damage after every attack because they were balanced with meta sets in mind (for making them feel harder) If title updates make this System mandatory, that's my problem
I would love to see less RNG personally I would like to see a system where you simply hunt monster parts and then you're giving a list of monster parts you need in order to make a specific item that list then rerolls every 24 hours or every 72 hours however difficult to hunt maybe or items are to find whatever the case may be gives you the added difficulty for the end game. No RNG people are still hunting and playing the end game but there's a lot less angry people out there because of the RNG.
One thing to note about the sharpness boost is it enables the Grinder (S) + Protective polish build on some weapons, where the weapon's sharpness stops just short of purple without handicraft. As far as the crafting system goes, I kinda like it as it gives you something to work towards. However, I can see myself getting bored of it rather quickly but we'll see I guess since I still need to get to lv 50 for the remaining anomaly monsters.
I'd say the biggest opportunity for this system is on armor that have both Gunner and Blademaster skills on them. For one or the other, you essentially lose nothing from losing a skill you can't use anyway.
Haven't gotten to play with it yet but it looks like a lock system is going to be needed for the armour system, even if it costs more per role, locking in a skill or specific stat increase would help it. I think tho at least for the weapons this is only the beginning of these systems and we'll get even more powerful/features later on.
From what I can tell, you always have the option of either accepting the new roll, or keeping your old one. So each roll is pure RNG, but you always have the option of keeping what you already had.
@@eivind261093 yes that's true, but the amount of different things that can change, you could get one thing be perfect but than never see the second thing you want perfect to be rolled at the same time. It's often a issue I've also seen brought up many different times with these types of systems with so many different variable parts.
I love the rng system personally. It’s got that Diablo 3 itch to it. Already I turned your guys’ dog build into the Immortal dog build and I just wreck anomaly monsters now without taking huge hits. Now my goal is to keep all the survivability and start adding in some dps. I feel this is the first time I haven’t been forced into another person’s build and am really creating something all my own. Love this update.
I now have chaincrit 3 from 3 different pieces of armor with no downside. The only reason I took the chain crit is because it gave a 2 deco slot as well for all the parts Btw you can save materials by save scumming similar to the melding exploit to save materials. This process requires you to reroll on a lower grade piece to reset the table on the higher grade piece.
3 chain crit from augments for my Rapid Bow build would be godly. Even if I can manage 2, I get one naturally from my set but would entirely free up what I'm using my talisman slot for. :drools:
I'm doing just this. Still need 4 lv2 decos for Anjanath set since it ONLY has 1 lv4 deco. I may be losing defense to gain 4 lv2 slots, while 2 pieces have up to +25 defense per piece to off set such. (+ 50 to be exact. Hoping the defense loss is LESS than -20 for 3 total pieces...) Gold & Silver will have to wait until I get this right...(I have Atk boost lv5 Agitator lv4 ,Marathon Run lv3...I have a Constitution lv3 Rec up lvl2 charm with a lv4 slot...that is why I'm working with DB & bow builds...)
I literally godrolled my crit rapid bow set, literally wasn't running constitution at all to max dmg only running item prolonger (dash juice) and focus shot (gross) for Stam managment. Got a chain crit on 1 piece and 1 constitution on 3 others. I dropped that Hard Enduring Deco, add Hard Physique, my build now has Max Constitution bam. I did drop my 2 Chain crit Tali so I lost 1 CC overall but swapped in a full part breaker tali with better deco slots. Upped defense after that with random extra decks I gained. Build is savage against afflicted.
To get the most out of adding skills to armor, I recommend writing out a list of the sizes of the decorations needed for the skills you want to add. My value of crafted skills is based on the size of the decos and number of slots needed that would otherwise be used to add them. For instance, Spare Shot requires a Lv.3 Spare Shot decoration to add 1/3 points, and there are no Lv.4 Spare Shot decos in existence, making Spare Shot extremely valuable to have as a Gunner craft. Meanwhile, Wide Range requires a Lv. 4 deco to add 4/5 points, a Lv.3 deco to add 3/5 points, and a Lv.2 deco adds 1/5 points. To get 5/5 points, you would either need a Lv.4 slot and a Lv.1 slot or two Lv.3 slots. In other words, Wide Range is extremely flexible when it comes to the decos, so you could actually choose rolls for large enough slots than to roll for the skill itself. Just having a sense for how much deco space you're gaining when a desirable crafted skill shows up can help you make better decisions when you're comparing between craft results. Sometimes you need more deco slots, sometimes you need larger deco slots. Also, sometimes a larger deco slot can fit in a large deco that saves you from having to equip multiple decos. So this is why writing down the possible deco layouts that you're trying to cram into your build is so helpful when you're crafting. I also have a separate set of armor when I craft so I don't scuff my main build because the deco layout is something that is spread across all your pieces of armor. And you should absolutely make use of tools like the simulator on the mhrise wiki to create your own builds, to try and get as many desired skills as possible implicitly from your armor to reduce your requirements from crafting.
I just started doing Qurious Crafting and I can already tell... This is going to get me to keep playing Sunbreak. The goddamn gambling itch of "Oooooh, this is looking good in terms of skills but... What if the next roll's even better... AH FUCK IT, ROLLING AGAIN!" has me already in its clutches and I'm LOVING IT!
Elembane in bows procs at 25 zones, not 20 which limits it a lot more, species decos are better overall. Also you can fight the new monsters in normal afflicted quests after reaching lv 80.
@@csgarthur7763 Each monster part has an elemental weakness number assigned to it, which is how much they take from element, you can see it on the notes in the ecology menu. Many monsters have plenty of 20 zones, but only a few have the amazing 25, even less have a 45 raw weakzone (for ranged to proc weakness exploit) and 25 elemental zone (to proc elembane)
This end game is a lot better than expected... meta builds, once achieved, that's it... you hunt a few monsters for fun using it, though it never felt complete anymore because you gain nothing... The gameplay cycle now, hunt, get some rng augs, which might not be the best but you'll try to work around improving your current set offensively or defensively and then hunt again... the cycle repeats, hunt for fun..... Meta builds can still be used as a template, but the fun part is building onward using the new aug system... It will only be bad if it gate keeps you from clearing content, and it is not... Even iceborne, the game can be completed till the end w/o copy and pasting meta sets... look at those sub 5min lucent Nargacuga clear on day 1
For me personally, I like the aspect that I will engage more with buildcraft, I think its especially interesting that lower rarity armor is easier to roll. At the end of the day i cant really be mad about people having 3 more chain crit than me, cuz talismans existed before. But I really think this will be a delicate matter in the speedrun community
it's absolutely ridiculous how many skills we can fit. makes fatalis gear at the end of iceborne look mild in comparison. already having so much fun with it. i actually don't mind the rng here, gives something to aim for, while making pretty ridiculous builds available early into the process. think this is my favorite endgame they've implemented so far. probably frustrating for the speed runners, but hell, they just mod the game for perfect gear anyways.
I'm a huge fan of this RNG honestly, it adds a ton of diversity in builds. i wasnt as big a fan of the talisman rng because you needed to give up monster parts but since with this, you only use designated items i think its a much more rewarding system overall
I think making it an RNG system is good because we hunters could continue farming and having something worthwhile to grind if you're aiming to make an armor piece tailored to your play style. If we got something that we could freely customize then it would be like fatalis armor on iceborne and nothing else to do since you got the strongest armor in the game. This is a good thing in my opinion because we could enjoy the game at our own pace.
The background music in all the videos is always so good. I just be jamming to it sometimes and forget to keep listening to the lads talk. And yes, i do partake.
The best part about MH is creating your own sets of equipments... Not Just copying every iten and deco in the build. Talismans give us a small diference between builds, and now with armor qurio, its even biger customization ! this is awesome, really loving that addition, despites the time it will take haha
So far I find the new crafting system rather interesting. The niche builds I'm working on are taking time and effort, but I do wonder about the pool of skills we are pulling from and if the Elder Dragon blessings are in it; such as Kushala Blessing. I'm not a huge fan of RNG, but I've been able to make some fun builds so far. I'm not sure currently what counts as the perfect build, but if certain blessings are not in that RNG pool, I feel, at least for me, that I'll have a better grasp of what I can work with for each armor build.
Maybe lockable aspects. I have thoughts on how to balance that, like giving it a virtual rarity bump with each locked bonus so it costs more to do for each lock, but i'm not a programmer and don't know if that'd be feasible.
@@ShaddoII I dunno. Never actually got that far. Other things pulled my interest away. Soon enough though, got my own Noob to train and he wants to start with world/iceborne.
I like Qurios Crafting, but I feel like It could be done better with a little less RNG. For Example: Let's say you take the Chome Metal Coil X, in the current system everything is rerolled at Random when you Augment it. As I've affected it It's gotten a 32 point bonus to the Raw defense, lost its 1 level of Flinch Free, but had its 3 slot upgraded to a 4 slot. How I'd tweak the system is that the Defense and slots stay Random, but you can swap out the skill for a specific skill (provided it isnt monster specific like Teo's Blessing), and all of those rerolls would be done seperately. So rerolling the defense bonus won't also reroll the Deco Slots. As for the Skill Augment, you can swap the skill(s) on the armor for any other skill(s) at an equal level to the original stats of the Piece. Using the Chome Metal Piece as an example again, I could take the coil and swap out the 1 level of Flinch Free for 1 level of any other skill that isn't Monster Specific. So I could swap the Flinch Free for something like Evade Window or Wirebug whisperer. Alternatively, you could add a level to the skill on the Armor, provided that it isn't already maxed out. So the Chome Metal Coil's 1 level of Flinch Free becomes 2 levels.
TL;DR I'm not going to complain about extra free skills, so I like the armor augment just fine. It is miles better than World's armor augment. Maybe it's because I'm not much of someone who tries to get the absolutely perfect minmaxed build, or maybe cause I've already gotten skills I like, but with how many skills you can get from armor and decorations alone, while I think the charm RNG is a bit odd (Rarity 10 charms being often straight up worse than R9 or even R7 ones, with questionable skills/slots (if any)), I think the armor augmenting at this point is just *extra* skills, and so even though you might not get your 3 weak exploit & crit boost, you might get some free comfort skills in there. And that's fine, you can just slot in the meta skills.
I really like this system but that might be because I don't like to speedrun my goal in MH is to hunt every monster at least once and to craft a good set, son when I finish the game and my build I either start ghinking in another set to craft or stop playing, but with this system I can continue to improve my builds for a really long time, also I don't think that having a completely optimal build is really necessary (at least for me) in a non competitive game
Armor set builder sites in shambles rn. Jokes aside this system worked out a lot better than I was initially expecting. Didn’t think I’d like the RNG armor at all, but when I actually started crafting it actually felt pretty good. You don’t get insane augments every time, but I’d say 8/10 augments that I’ve gotten are usable and better than none. Another prime example of try it before you judge it I suppose
loving this kind of end game content in monhun, perfect to keep you min maxing your hunter. seems like a cool middle ground of materials/choice with rng
I like the new argument armor system, the base armors are good and this addition is amazing because is optional, you can reroll your piece of armor to get something more good or not and the armor is still good
I was lucky enough to get a few new slots on my armour pieces plus 1 crit boost and I went from 4 attack boost to 7, so I enjoy this new system even if it's heavily RNG based as you can still get quality of life skills like free meal or speed sharpening without affecting your damage output
thats why we can craft a bunch of the same armor in the smithy because of the armor augmentation unlike forging a layered armor where you can only craft one of each.
I got pretty lucky with one of my very first Qurious Armor crafting rolls - my Anjanath Coil X got a rank in Evade Extender, and one of its deco slots turned from a level 1 to a level 3! As a SwAxe main, this is a massive boon for me, especially since most of the meta SwAxes need 3 points in Handicraft to reach purple, and Evade Extender is probably the best comfort skill in the game. Sure, it lost 14 defense, but it's not a huge issue for me when I mostly avoid taking damage entirely by evading or using a counter.
As much as I know people like grinding for things like perfect armor augments, I do not. I liked having the goal of leveling my guiding lands up to get tempered Nami to show up. There was a goal, not a near infinite spider web of things that MIGHT make your armor better.
@@WhiteRaito that was a side effect of leveling the areas. It wasn't the target. What is different is that there was a target to aim for. What sunbreak is asking players to do is be the best like no one ever was. I want to be able to get to the goal not have it shift away everything I get remotely close
@@user-dm7ui6zx2u that actually makes it harder for me. I want a goal. Other wise I get hopeless over having truly terrible rng. I stopped talisman farming for the same reason
@@Artagansmistress thats why the talisman grind sucks to me. Deco looks like way more obtainable. But this armor rng looks way more even obtainable than the deco imo. It took me like 1 weeks of zinogre farming to get atk+ or crit+ while this one took like idk 2 days to get things like critboost or wex
4:52 20%?! I thought it was like, 5%, on account of the word "slightly". ok now that description just feels misleading. I wasn't even trying to get that on my elemental weapons because it sounded like it was a very small bonus. I was just going for weapons with the highest elemental stat and if it happened to have a 3 slot rampage, then I would put it on.
I have one question for people who like this system and who didn't like the tailsman system whats is the difference that makes this system better to you because for me it feels the same yes you have i guess you have the based skills but you want extra skills or replace a skill so is that not the same as a tailsman and you are still throwing materials away to do so so please explain this to me
I'm definitely in favour of not being locked into very specific meta templates for great dmg output sets. It really opens up the possibilities of customising your very own set JUST the way you like it. Lets you adapt your armor to your playstyle rather than the other way around. And while it sounds hella grindy, I think the motivation to keep doing those investigations works better than the terrible rng deco system in iceborne because you're not dependent so on it.
When you say this do you mean based on skills or based on armor? In terms of skills it will more or less the same until you can add more skills or damage from one crazy skill (dereliction). In terms of armor it's pretty liquid amd based on talisman. Cause a good talisman and enough decos can make many armors pieces "meta". Besides the best damage armor sets are kind of arbitrary and require you to be a hitless God to get the benefits usually.
I just rolled for extra level 1 slots on two different sets to get level 5 Defiance on both. Ended up with free Chain Crit on my gunner set as a bonus and Spiribird Call on my GS set. I am loving defiance haha
This system is pretty cool, and I love that it incentivizes hunting all sorts of monsters by having the various types of Qurios materials. Long gone are the base World days of hunting the same few elder dragons over and over.
I hope that the ibushi/narwa armors still give the Stormsoul benefits to the quirious skills so if you get one point of crit boost or weakness exploit on one armor, it maxes it out if you equip the full set making the godly chargeblade armor I’ve always wanted
Yeah, so far I haven't seen any skill on iblushi/narwa armor. I did however roll a 2-1-1 deco slots on all my pieces though. That allowed a comfy build for my gunlance to have 7 defense, 5 defiance, 3 speed sharpening, and 3 stun resist with a 4 slot charm 😀. Edit: 2-1-1 I apologize for the typo 😖
Ok so I kinda understand but one question. (I think I saw the answer but not sure) when u agment a piece of armor, do you have an option to lock a certain skill from rerolling?
I like this system. In fact I think it's one of the best endgame loop they've made since MH4U relic gear. If you hate it then it just means you're not the target audience. Just try rolling a few times and call it a day. And then continue farming gaismagorm or something if it's your cup of tea.
rolled an extra 4 gem slot (upgraded from 2 slot gem) on my astalos helm with no throwback and now i use that to stor my quickswitch and enhancer. So im free to do whatever i want with all the other peices know i still have 1 chain crit and a 1 slot for the last stun resists im loving this system alrdy despite it's RNG ^^
Even when searching for good skills through random rolls, I found just the 100+ armor value you get from just having them augmented helps my Bow builds survive many things that could normally one-shot me. Love the way Sunbreaks endgame is shaping up.
There is no way to do an endgame loop without RNG unless you're a live service. If there's a universal "best" most people will get it and quit. This is acceptable to me.
I feel like I will need to look more into the armor augment to know the best way to approach it and if I should use it. Weapon is more straight forward and one should be used to do as much mid-maxing as possible. Even adding another level of the rampage slot will open up weapons that previously got overlooked.
I Like the System because i rarely play pure damage builds. I like my free meal or my evade distance or other cool skills that actually effects your playstyle Outside of pure dmg.
Love the info, breakdown, content of this vid. But holy hell I felt like I was going to have a seizure while you were constantly re-rolling your armor upgrade. Had to switch to another tab to finish listening.
Don't know if this is known or not, but I just rolled defiance on the armor augments. Which I think is a unique skill to the gold rathian armour. Which means that unique armor skills could be in the augment pool, or I'm stupid. Definitely one or the other
considering how um anticlimactic the other upgrades are, if it need a better rampage slot that's not an option but if it's fine with the slot it has it becomes one that is still kind of better. especially since later on i imagine we will get better rampage decorations in the updates. true, that does sort of work for element but the element attack bonus itself is practically nothing. the armor may be too much RNG for many but ti's interesting
That thumbnail augment is so damn tasty! 🤩 As for the RNG part, at least it doesn’t have the rerolls at a certain limit cap. I would’ve preferred something like using old kinda-good talismans as skill/slot transfer material but even just extra slots would be a good Quiros roll for me
I noticed the more new augments u accept the better they get even if it’s worse then a pretty good roll. So if u get an extra slot then accept another augment even if it’s worse bc the next roll will be better. It’s weird I fucked up and ended up rolling a great augment but I could be wrong just something I been having luck with.
Honestly if the made the armor augmentation system like some of the early ways to roll tailsmans I would much pefer that as you can some what choose the out come. So if I let’s say wanted an extra attack boost I could choose to look for upgrades that would give attack boost variations so instead they f just getting 1 attack boost it could be 1 attack boost and 1 speed sharpening.
I'm a bit mixed on this setup. I think I would have liked it more if we had more choices of RNG like Safi. I mean, I could see something like 4 or 5 options or just nope, them all if I remember. Having to choose either or for the armor slots seems like something I don't feel like engaging with. At least not at this stage of MHSB. Admittedly, this is one of my busiest work cycles, so I've only gotten to MR75, so maybe resources will be more plentiful in the future, and the time investment won't bug me as much. All said, I'm enjoying the weapon augments and will give the armor stuff a try once I feel like I've honestly reached endgame proper.
Not sure why this system is getting so much hate. Been getting good stats like stagger, part breaker divine blessing and more fairly easily. Sure if you want god rolls it will take time and grinding but hey isn't that a good incentive too hunt?
it's not, the incentive needs to be on an approachable term, this seems a void that will engulf you if you want to take part in it for real. To give you an example. Having a system that would allow you to add a skill of your choice, costing 200 items each try and 0.1% chance of succeding is better than this one
@@neobahumuth6 that's just being dramatic, if you're not willing to invest the time into grinding for better stats just get some useable ones and call it a day.
In general Qurious crafting feels pretty decent, I just dislike having another RNG system added on top of the charms. If charm rolling felt closer to the RNG I've seen with this I might feel fine with both, but charm rolling still feels like total ass.
The thing with charm rolling is that you can very easily get a decent talisman quickly. Most all builds need is a 3-2-1. The difference between a god charm and regular charm is like 3% damage and no big deal.
Idk how to feel about. I haven't reached it yet. I beat Seething Bagel and Gold Rathian before getting my teeth kicked in by Silver Rathalos in my 3rd ever quest failure in Rise and decided I'd continue after work the next day lmao
Not a bad idea but I would like an even rarer essence to increase or influence my chance for certain skills. Like one for crit, one for attack, one for element/status, etc. Which would come from extraordinary stronger monsters such as afflicted elders. However dues to lore qurios probably can't since Kushal has a metal body, teostra is on fire, and how would they even find chameleos is something to be asked.
So I'm replacing KH right now, so I don't have time to hop on and do grinding to check out how this works. Augmenting doesn't remove the original skills on the armor, right? It only downgrades or removes on occasion but will tell ya when that happens, yeah?
Rng is the best thing even tho I know many ppl don't like it. However, if there are no RNG there are no grinding so no goals no hunts. Also, it gives some lottery and suprises feels when you got the jackpot / big reward. I just love it thanks capcom
I wonder if it's possible for the system to add unique skills that are normally unobtainable if the armor piece already has it, like Adrenaline Rush or Dereliction. Probably not, but it would be cool.
They took away the talisman rerolling, but someone found out a way to reroll these augmentations until you find good ones, quit without saving and then switch to a new table.
I don't mind this RNG system to be honest, with talismans while not always being integral to certain builds, they generally are & so getting a good one is a must (i still want them from an event quest reward though) and as a result super frickin annoying. But with this one though there's great potential to it, it's not super integral to endgame effective builds (atleast at the moment) and just serves as a nice bonus until you get the perfect augment. I know i can get better but i already have weakness exploit & fire attack 1 on my Arc Helm from augments with no downgrade, so i was pretty chuffed to be able to free up a slot or 2 for other stuff! It does mean going back & re-slotting all my builds with more stuff at some point though xD
Right then, I’ve done 150+ re-rolls on my barroth vambraces, what I can say is, this is really like a duplicate of the talisman system. There also seems to be a “rare” roll. The rare roll has a sort of flame to it, I only got it 4 times in 150 rolls.
I have yet to fully engage with this system, but I didn't like it at first. My feelings are getting much more mixed now and I am somewhat looking forward to trying it out. It feels a bit weird though that this is basically 5 new Talismans to roll for which makes the existing Talisman RNG both worse and better. You aren't locked into hoping for that rare Talisman that you need for your build because you can get some levels of those skill in your armor pieces. Making the Talisman into more of a decoration focus than it already kind of is. But if you want THE perfect set for you, it's even more of a nightmare. Still mixed on this, but I see a lot of positives now.
Can't lie, I've got a few half built sets that I had to scrap due to not having the best combination of equipment/talismans to fit in... Back to the drawing board, I guess!
Y'know, I am actually ok with the RNG system ... At the start, I look at what builds tend to be meta for the weapon I'm using, but I find myself not sticking to meta builds for long, tweaking them to suit my playstyle ... if I'm rolling skills that aren't exactly the meta, that's ok ... I don't know how many hammer builds I see without evade extender, but I find it essential for repositioning/getting around wings and legs to the head quickly. Plenty of other skills around that tend to benefit greatly to playstyles that aren't considered, especially if they're not purely focused on attack, or solo hunting, where your survivability is your own responsibility.
It's all how you use the system, not how the system uses you
You also get metric tons of Amber to roll the armors.
It's a good idea but it won't extend the grinding like a gacha system like we have right now.
@@Kratos1902 didn't people want the grind of old school mh though? Lol
And good’ol Zinogre
... Isn't that just the decoration system?
Yup. I use Kaiser X armor and got two extra slots for one of the parts in exchange for losing the useless Ballistic skill.
I did that with the Rakna legs! Imagine not having to gem for Stamina Surge anymore ^^
Hoping against hope for Akantor and Ukanlos.
@@nathangomez6888 Frenzied. Afflicted. Monsters.
People complaining about Rise being too easy will probably shit their pants in unison. 😂
@@nathangomez6888 i feel like we might get Apex mosters similar to 4U. Except afflicted. Maybe there will be monsters strong enough to control the qurio and become apex-like.
@@nagatouzumaki6421 Oh, you predicted it...
The system is really good for giving you skills that you only need 1 rank of to make a big difference, such as chain crit and slugger that you would otherwise just not have space for in a regular build.
Yea its great. I wanted to start using Strongarm stance more on my GS and thanks to this system I gained a level of Offensive guard + another from the 3 slot on Gold rath's armour to get to that sweet 10% buff.
the only good thing
Nice!
Yeah I agree, because of the curios Crafting putting random offensive gaurd on my gear, I can swap in parkbreaker and focus with no downsides
Yea same and good skills don’t actually seem to be too rare. I’ve already gotten chain crit on something, attackboost on something the rng doesn’t seem toooo bad and the investigations seem to give a decent amount of amber
I got bird call on one of my pieces. I know its now a 1 slot deco, but using it early on in the update is nice. Seething kill me no more!
I agree, you play to hunt, get rewards, and take advantage of the rng loot even if it might not be the best... it's the gameplay cycle...
though I know in pc, modding is possible so if they don't like the randomness, they can use that... though what is the point of hunting anymore
unless you are a speed runner which isn't a lot of people
I fear for Title Updates more than anything
In Iceborne everything from Raiging Brachydios onward was obnoxious at first because it required the upgrage unlock argument for not taking stupidly huge damage after every attack because they were balanced with meta sets in mind (for making them feel harder)
If title updates make this System mandatory, that's my problem
The only reason I took the chain crit is because it gave a 2 deco slot as well for all the parts
Btw you can save materials by save scumming similar to the melding exploit to save materials.
Oh boy I can't wait for speedrunners to hack in God armor as well as God talismans
This. Elembane is a total trap. The silverlos price at 20. Still a trap. Even elemental weapons should be using monster exploit.
I am sry , but what the meaning of 20 and 25 zone?
@@csgarthur7763 Each monster part has an elemental weakness number assigned to it, which is how much they take from element, you can see it on the notes in the ecology menu. Many monsters have plenty of 20 zones, but only a few have the amazing 25, even less have a 45 raw weakzone (for ranged to proc weakness exploit) and 25 elemental zone (to proc elembane)
@@MrCharly780 ahh i see thx for explain, so anti species deco still good right ?
@@csgarthur7763 Yep, unless you are fighting something like the crabs were you can reliably hit 25 parts.
Even iceborne, the game can be completed till the end w/o copy and pasting meta sets...
look at those sub 5min lucent Nargacuga clear on day 1
I think is a good system, a lot better than world and hunting the same monster over and over
For me personally, I like the aspect that I will engage more with buildcraft, I think its especially interesting that lower rarity armor is easier to roll.
If you use multiple armor sets/builds, the RNG armor isn't such a good thing.
The layered armor your have on kind of reminds me of my uncle.
For anyone wondering if this works with narwa and ibushi sets, no you can’t roll any skills on those sets but you can still get gem slots
Damn it that's what I was going for. Thats really unfortunate
I have thoughts on how to balance that, like giving it a virtual rarity bump with each locked bonus so it costs more to do for each lock, but i'm not a programmer and don't know if that'd be feasible.
couldn't you already do that with Saafi weapons? They just need to add the increased cost
@@ShaddoII I dunno. Never actually got that far. Other things pulled my interest away. Soon enough though, got my own Noob to train and he wants to start with world/iceborne.
I like Qurios Crafting, but I feel like It could be done better with a little less RNG. For Example:
Let's say you take the Chome Metal Coil X, in the current system everything is rerolled at Random when you Augment it.
Team Darkside say "we did the highest possible damange"
Capcom "highest possible damage... yet!" *add augments for weapons*
I actually love this. It makes the gameplay loop infinite. I wouldn't mind this being how armor is done from now on. Could make grinding Soo worth it
Armor set builder sites in shambles rn.
Thats how i felt. It's like if I get a good skill, great, if not, oh well
So long I can potentially get Artillery, Guard, Pro polish,Load shells on Valstrax, Archfiend or Scorn armor I'll be happy
This came just in time for my birthday tomorrow. Going to be a good long weekend :3
loving this kind of end game content in monhun, perfect to keep you min maxing your hunter. seems like a cool middle ground of materials/choice with rng
I like that it divers, I hate that it is basically rolling a slot machine with your time.
I got 1 extra lvl of wex onto my squire waist
And 1 lvl of offensive guard onto my archdemon chest
My GS build is eating well rn
As much as I know people like grinding for things like perfect armor augments, I do not. I liked having the goal of leveling my guiding lands up to get tempered Nami to show up. There was a goal, not a near infinite spider web of things that MIGHT make your armor better.
When you grind to max your research level it will gave you lotsa stuff.
I was hoping it was gonna be like safi when you rolled for a skill you didn't want it increases the odds of getting that one skill
I have one question for people who like this system and who didn't like the tailsman system whats is the difference that makes this system better to you because for me it feels the same yes you have i guess you have the based skills but you want extra skills or replace a skill so is that not the same as a tailsman and you are still throwing materials away to do so so please explain this to me
I haven't been to deep into it yet, but i guess we can have for example 2 of the same armor piece but differently rolled for different sets right ?
I got spiribirds call on my first roll on my gloves
I like it. Once you reach this point of the game there's really not much to do. So just keep re roll and see if you can improve you set bit by bit.
The type of Afflicted materials can be displayed in the quest info (lower right side of the quest page).
They made it so the ibushi/ narwa armors never get skills from rolling, only defense boosts.
Nope, its all or nothing in the augment. Slots, Defense and Resistances included
@@HeavyMetalLink05 damn, thank you tho.
So im free to do whatever i want with all the other peices know i still have 1 chain crit and a 1 slot for the last stun resists
im loving this system alrdy despite it's RNG ^^
Even when searching for good skills through random rolls, I found just the 100+ armor value you get from just having them augmented helps my Bow builds survive many things that could normally one-shot me. Love the way Sunbreaks endgame is shaping up.
There is also a weapon crafting for status that increases your status effect for three slots
I actually really like the new system because it makes everything customizable and personal
There is no way to do an endgame loop without RNG unless you're a live service. If there's a universal "best" most people will get it and quit. This is acceptable to me.
Like fatty gear in ib
As someone who plays like 6 weapons this seems like a nightmare to keep track of
I feel like I will need to look more into the armor augment to know the best way to approach it and if I should use it.
I don't mind RNG in set building. I just wish that there were fewer 'dud' rolls.
Weapon system seems cool, but I probably won't stress myself too hard with the armor system lol
Commenting to say it's super cute that Cotton says "Job's a good'n" or however that'd be said. Clearly he picked that up from Josh.
Don't know if this is known or not, but I just rolled defiance on the armor augments. Which I think is a unique skill to the gold rathian armour. Which means that unique armor skills could be in the augment pool, or I'm stupid. Definitely one or the other
My elemental switch axe builds got 2 lvs of protective polish to work with now 😎
Honestly, the flat defense boost makes it worth it. I had to put down rage slash strictly because I couldn't tank through monster attacks anymore
considering how um anticlimactic the other upgrades are, if it need a better rampage slot that's not an option but if it's fine with the slot it has it becomes one that is still kind of better. especially since later on i imagine we will get better rampage decorations in the updates.
true, that does sort of work for element but the element attack bonus itself is practically nothing.
the armor may be too much RNG for many but ti's interesting
Oboro the merchant: "wow thats a bunch"
Me: "wow thats a bunch of bull crap"
I love quiros crafting. I just wish getting a good tailsman was as easy as quiros crafting lol
My regios gauntlets I use for purple sharpness now has 4 levels of Handicraft for one piece of equipment ;)
That thumbnail augment is so damn tasty! 🤩 As for the RNG part, at least it doesn’t have the rerolls at a certain limit cap. I would’ve preferred something like using old kinda-good talismans as skill/slot transfer material but even just extra slots would be a good Quiros roll for me
i dare say that with the Ibushi 5 piece set this can get really wild
I really enjoy the quirous crafting.
dual blades with a lvl 2 rampage slot can get the helion mode rampage skill after the qurios crafting slot upgrade :O
6:30 hold up would skills added work with the Narwa/ibushi Stormsoul skill making some OP armor skill-wise then?
Question, does getting a skill on a narwa or ibushi armor piece get boosted by the 4-5 piece set skill? Could be broken
Narwa/ibushi armor can not roll extra skills, just bonuses to armor and resistances.
Not sure why this system is getting so much hate. Been getting good stats like stagger, part breaker divine blessing and more fairly easily.
Sure if you want god rolls it will take time and grinding but hey isn't that
a good incentive too hunt?
it's not, the incentive needs to be on an approachable term, this seems a void that will engulf you if you want to take part in it for real.
@@therealbalto24 the problem is the probability, getting the augment you want as it stands is a 1 in 400 billion chance. You want to grind for that?
@@therealbalto24 as somebodyelse said the RNG is heavily stacked against you and that's objectively bad
@@neobahumuth6 I could see your point if setbuilding as is wasnt very good to begin with. This just feels like an enhancement to your builds imo
Very close to 1 Million subscribers 😀
So I'm replacing KH right now, so I don't have time to hop on and do grinding to check out how this works.
Augmenting doesn't remove the original skills on the armor, right? It only downgrades or removes on occasion but will tell ya when that happens, yeah?
Correct on both. You dont have to take whatever augment you roll, and if you do, you can still get rid of it later if need be
Rng is the best thing even tho I know many ppl don't like it.
Got coalescence on my gauntlets to max it out 🤌🏿🤌🏿 second reroll too (running a bloodlust dereliction resentment build )
I really hope they can dig up the specific details of qurious crafting
Decorations slots are still limited to the 4-2-1 or 3-2-1 slots..
Max armor rating seems to be 61.
Elemental defense seems to be 4.
I personally love qurio creating.
Now with it here I can honestly say that my build is unique to me and me alone.
