It’s a known problem with monitors that have BOE panels in them. Honestly, I think LG should just use their own ips panels in all of the monitors they make…
I am thinking about buying this, or samsung odyssey g5 for the curvature. I can't just make up my mind, does IPS panels really much better than VA? Should I consider the curvature? I am currently using a TN panel monitor so both will be an upgrade for me. If you have any recommendations I would gladly take them. Thanks a lot.
IPS panels are better for video and photo editing as well as design because colours are more accurate. If you're going for gaming i think VA is better, because IPS tend to have lower response times, but again, this isnt really relevant if your going for stuff like editing. VA monitors tend to have lower response times as well as good colors and they are more affordable. Making it super simple: TN = Bad colours, cheap, low response times. VA = Good colours, affordable, low response times. IPS = Amazing colours, more expensive, low response time.
Hope you dont buy the g5, worst monitor ever, tons of ghosting no matter the settings you put, if you play fps or any game with dark scenarios the ghosting escalate to wash all the moving sequences, if you gonna use it for media absolute trash, when the monitor try to go from dark to wite you got alot of pixels betwen the change and feels like yo are playing cs 1.6 in 16bits. Ive returned mine and pick the lg 24gn600-b, nothing much to say, such a excelent monitor. Hope this help to the person who got the same issue of what monitor buy, just leave the g5 in the trash were he belong
I bought this monitor on amazon for 224 dollars, I am from Colombia and shipping is separate, I'm waiting until Friday to confirm my payment if I do not see something better.
You really cannot trust anything to match. Maybe the menu system is similar. For example, even LG 27GN800 and LG 27GN850 have display panels from different *vendors* (800 has BOE panel, 850 has LG panel) so I would assume 24GN600 has pretty much nothing in common with the panel technology.
I own the GN600 and the 800. Like you said one is 24 inches 1080 p, the other is 27 inches 1440 p.: that’s the difference. It’s a huge difference.all depends on your desk size and what you want for resolution. I love the 600 it’s just hard to go back to 1080 p once you play competitively at 1440 p
I was going to get the Samsung g5 or g6 Odessy but a friend recommended this monitor so I’m here. Edit: I am now buying this monitor instead plus it goes with Nvidia gsync Edit 2: I saw the 850-B video right after this one so I’m getting that one.

Are response time and refresh time important for me? Can I choose another monitor which has lower response and refresh time but has pivot to use 90degree and smaller leg.( MSI PRO MP271QP)? THANK YOU!
I would recommend the LG over the MSI monitor. This has a higher refresh rate, and the difference between 60 and 144hz is night and day. The response time is also a lot lower on the LG monitor which is really good. Overall I would definitely choose The lg27gn800 over the MSi mp27qp any day unless you absolutely need the rotation.

That keyboard at 7:40 looks dope! What is it? I love the acrylic/see through aesthetic, especially with variable RGB lighting!
i just order one from an retail here in portugal and i cant wait to put the dp cable on it and game like a pro!!
I trying to find out if this monitor has built in speakers ? What audio options are there? Any and all advice is appreciated. I am brand new to the computer world.
He says somewhere in the vid btu I’m not sure where i believe they don’t have built in speakers
I like mine, but I just turned it on yesterday and got a black screen with grey/white vertical lines going down the middle and far right of the screen. Pulled the power plug and rebooted it and it was fine, kind of odd though.
update?
@@DimzReacts Hasn't happened since, so perhaps it was just a one time anomaly.
Any dead pixels?😊
@@nolifezay4636 Nah so far so good.
IPS = Amazing colours, more expensive, low response time.
sorry for any misspeliing i hope I got my point across
@@brandoncorona2837 VA has worse response times and way more ghosting. It is horrible for fps gaming, it is more targeted towards watching movies
The brightness flicker kills the VA for me when using Freesync :/
I bought this monitor on amazon for 224 dollars, I am from Colombia and shipping is separate, I'm waiting until Friday to confirm my payment if I do not see something better.
great video, but does this also apply to the LG 24GN600-B ? it's about the same i think only the size and resolution that differ
Edit: I am now buying this monitor instead plus it goes with Nvidia gsync
Edit 2: I saw the 850-B video right after this one so I’m getting that one.
Does this monitor have PS5 downscale feature from 4K to 1440p?
Yep works very well
What do you think about LG 32GN650 which is having a VA Panel ... Will it have more flickering issues or light reflection issue .. Please suggest as I am thinking to go with it as it is a 32 inch monitor
Thanks for the review. Would I be able to get 1080 120hz from an xbox series S over hdmi?
Yes, you can get 1440p at 120hz through hdmi on this monitor actually!
@@TypeCTechReviews awesome thanks for the info. I want to get a xbox series s and I believe in WZ it can only do 1080 120. I’m sure it will look just find

Bought mine a week before Black Friday because Amazon felt pressured by Media Markt discount week to drop prices as well, so I got it for a good price, while it is an amazing monitor I got some recommendation, I got a 5700 bios Flashed to an XT, when I tested out MBR my driver kept on crashing several times within an hour, it doesn't do that when using Adaptive, also, a good thing is the Monitor comes with a Display Port cable, so you can immediately go ahead and enjoy the 144hz.
It's a good Monitor but honestly, the only downside is the HDR experience that is not good.
@@By_and_Down Can't answer that since I never used the Stand, I have mine mounted on an Arm
hey man, hows the colors, brightness /
Does this monitor have the same type of 4k downscaling to 1440p as the LG 27GL850-B ?
hello! thank you for detailed video about the monitor LG 27GN800-B . I use monitor for video editing and motion design on Adobe After Effects and other Adobe's applications.
Thinking about getting this for my ps5 is this a good buy or should I look for a different monitor
I have one it's good as I got it on sale for 230 a year ago I use it as my 2nd monitor and I think it's great for the value
I went from a 24" to this 27" and I've stabbed it with my thumb enough reaching for a drink that I can say it's durable
What do you think of the screen quality like the colors the contrast
great review thanks
Will the g-sync be on if I connect the monitor with an Hdmi cable to my laptop? Or this works only with a display port cable? Because someone said it works only with the display port and not with an Hdmi
Hey i see there’s also a version without the b any idea of the differences
Love the review, definitely consider this monitor! Are there any else lower than 300$ which you would recommend?
thers an AOB bk something with almost the same specs . the main diference is the 165hz refresh rate and HDR ready on it. where the lh as 144hz and HDR+HDR10. but other then that they are very similar. the aoc as a better stand with height and swivel adjust and the lg as only tilt. they are the exact same price.i like the aoc most but the feauters of the lg are superior.
Just ordered online after watching this review, very good, clear and covered all. Nice work, Also Subscribed!
How well does this monitor handle downscaling to 1080p? Looking for a monitor that runs a higher resolution so I can play single player games on it but 1080p for multiplayer thanks
Idk if you got the monitor or the answer but how is the downscaling in this monitor?

I didn't understand the part about the G sync, so it doesn't has it but is g sync compatible. What is the difference? and how does it affects frame rate?
it doesnt affect it all.
thgats why almost none of the newer monitors are trully gsync certified cause the diference betwenn it and gsync compatible is almost zero. but costs a tonn of money to as a feature on an display so manufacters are starting to not implemnt it and go for freesync or gsync compatible insted
Maybe you can help. I just set the monitor up I’m running a RTX 4060ti and I didn’t get anything about G-Sync I went to setting and I don’t have that option any idea why? Thanks 🙏
Ita g sync compatible the monitora does not have g-syng .go to nvidia conteol settings and tick g sync from there brother.
ok so i just got a PS5 and im looking into getting a monitor, would this be a good one to use or is there something else i should use

Hello! Can you help me decide should I pick 27gn800 or the 27gp850?

Yes, but for console better to get nice tv. I have this monitor and for pc its really good for 350€. But for Xbox I have 55" 4K Sony Bravia and this is night and day difference in contrast and HDR. On this monitor forget about HDR forever. You can do what ever you want but in my opinion (person who have this monitor and 4K 55xe950 Sony Bravia (2019-2020 model) which it's not very expensive tv, better invest the money in good tv for console gaming. There is a big difference believe me. This is only my personal experience and my thoughts about it. You can do what ever you want with your money. how does this compare to the Pixio PX277 Prime?
does g-sync etc only relate to PC gaming, not relative features for console gaming..?
