The game is really fun I love it. It’s something different.. I like playing this on pc vs console I played one mission on consoles and nope I see why it’s for pc. I wish this was coop and multiplayer. I’m playing on intermediate and the shit is hard asf
Played this on easy and I am having a lot of fun... I am bad at anything hard. So I really enjoy the easy mode. I really love this game so much. Gears is one of my favorite franchise. And this game just makes it better.
i beat every gears of war game except tactics im currently working on that one very fun series. tactics is tun based i dislike that but it makes it more challenging im definatly up for the challenge.
I wasn't too interested in Tactics other than the return of the Locust. In place of your gameplay, I watched the cinematic compilations, but I am interested on your overall thoughts on the direction TC went with this. I like your reviews
@@ggzii Point blank shots should be 100%...Also I have gotten "obstructed" shots and I was standing 10 ft from a drone (not in cover) with nothing around me or him
@@DM-qd7gw yeah that's how these games work, it wouldn't be much fun if a clear shot was 100, its all about calculating the odds. It feels odd at first but you get used to it
I enjoyed it, playing it again now, but there's a lot of iffy shit with it, like caught in limbo waiting for the enemy to take a turn that they never will, they're just lost in the fog. Or getting stuck on the environment. Bar that it's cool.
I have to say mate this game was a lot of fun! And the storyline was great. But at the same time it was such a pain to beat on insane difficulty because the game isn’t based souley on skill. It has to to deal with a lot strategy and “luck” in a lot of scenarios. Anyways thanks for the upload GGz I watched a couple of your gears tactics videos early on and they helped me understand how the game works. Glad to be in the 1% fam 🤜
Dude! You fully validated me... I started this game upon release and got sick of it at the end of act 2. I finally forced myself to finish it 2 weeks ago and I'm glad I did... although the last boss is absolutely stupid for so many reasons...
@@ggzii Me too, I just wish the last mission wasn't such a cookie cutter solution... I love your video and my only guess is that you would have discussed it but had reasons not to... but .. ***SPOILERS below*** to allow me to spend the entire game building this badass roster of 5 types of units and then not allow me to pick a single member of my last team is just disgusting... my best scout was a random recruit, not the plot-character you are given. That was a huge set back, the game never warns you that you need to level up your 'mains' evenly... I did so because im OCD like that, but it was a coincidence, if i had power leveled my recruits i wouldve had to cheat or drop the difficulty to pass that last mission... NOT TO MENTION that you are forced to spec your sniper into the one type of build that suits this specific encounter. For a game that allowed me so much freedom to play with freedom through 95% of the game, I was so disappointed in that last mission. Side note: I too got the glitch where i lost my checkpoint for that fight. Felt bad.
as a huge gears and a huge xcom fan i absolutely loved this mixture of these too very different things mashed together edit: i had this game started at a low difficulty and did stop for that very reason currently going to give the second highest difficulty a try and if that isnt enough bump it to insane as well thank you for the video

I dropped in and it felt like xcom. So i stopped because i wanted to out alot of hours into the game. Did you ever play Jagged Alliance 2? Its amazing how we have yet to see something similar with anything near what that game was trying to do. Can you imagine that game under the right dev team? I just junoed back into this now and while its not as much of an rpg i am enjoying loot and whatnot and that the success rates arent as evil as JA2 and Xcom IMO lol
It seems I have the same issues, not enough mission variety, filler side missions, and the story is really lacking and feels like modern gears and not the gears story I actually enjoyed (og trilogy).
Really wish they’d release a multiplayer to this, would add replay value to the campaign to go back and regrab crates for some commons, add a salvage system for dismantling thing u don’t need. Crates as free rewards and if they chose to go to the purchase option, guess itd b ok as long as it wasn’t too broken. But the multiplayer aspect of this would b amazing basically just the aspects of a mobile game but on a main line system would b awesome
i enjoy this game on one x tho it crashes often while editing loadout / choosing missions . and sometimes while in game when i command a unit to move they get caught in place within the environment stuck & wobbling in one place causing you to be unable to proceed and have to restart level or checkpoint
I bough it. I lookin forward to play it. I consider to play on insane for the achievement, but I played a few games on Hardcore or even insane difficulty. And I learned when it sayz insane its really hard. So I still hesitant...
I spent DAYS playing this game and after fighting the last boss twice i haven't picked it up again i think it's a great game but not worth playing more than 2 unless you want achievements the last mission forced me to respec a few things but for the most part it wasn't terrible. Gears Tactics is a unique game where I feel that multuplayer would ruin it and a "horde" mode would be odd. The idea of you defending a point or surviving 50 waves sounds long and tedious if 4 drones on insane can lock you down easily
I just completed it on insane on pc. I found it very repetitive, robust. Each mission is the same out of the four, rescue, control, sabotage and incursion. I find most people will become bored of it like myself around the start of act 3. Plus the jack dlc is free which is good but it should of been included from the go and no other game mode just for him. I agree a 7 is a good rating for it. It’s an average game with a good story. Best to play on pc and get gamepass!

As a long time GOW fan, I had never played any game of this type, mainly because of the top down view and turn based mechanics.. But WOW!!. This is awesome. It looks and sounds great and the mechanics are excellent. Whereas I can play normal gears on insane, this is far too difficult for me on that difficulty, but just as enjoyable on lower difficulties. This has completely changed my mind about this type of game, and of you have game pass you should definitely give it a try.
trying playing on a lower difficulty. Some of the earlier missions can actually be difficult to lose on. If in doubt, use overwatch. The AI are kind of dumb and tend to just walk in instead of playing defensively.

Fuck the swarm. Let us play as the locust. But I 100% agree, we want to be the bad guys. Raams Shadow was the most badass dlc ever.

hit %'s being random and odd are just part and parcel of an xcom style game. You haven't lived until the 99% misses!

I think instead of an XCOM format they should’ve done something closer to Company Of heroes, kinda like what Warhammer did with dawn of war.

Honestly i hate top down view games but i love this game so far

Side missions got a bit tedious, also lack of the classic gears heavy weapons disappointing. Have you tried the Jack mode?

I’m a fan of gears. But the gears story is garbage and always has been garbage.
