  • I have to admit...before this install, I was skeptical about how much of a difference a Dynojet Power Commander 6 and DNA High Performance Air Filter would actually make to my Rebel 1100. But after the install, ALL of that skepticism is GONE. I'm not exaggerating when I say that if you own a Honda Rebel 1100, you NEED these modifications on your bike!
    This PC6 fuel injection module and DNA air intake completely transformed my Rebel 1100 into what it should've been from the factory! I honestly couldn't imagine owning a Rebel 1100 without these performance mods now. Not only does the bike have more power, but it's USEABLE power! Everything is smoothed out considerably, and all the jerky throttle response at low rpm/speed is totally gone! It feels like a completely different bike.
    Needless to say, I'm a believer now! Whether you're after power, or just an overall enjoyable riding experience- EVERY Rebel 1100 NEEDS a Power Commander 6 and DNA High Performance Air Filter!!

    EDIT: The stock air filter screws DO work with the DNA air filter! You just have to push hard and they’ll pop right in. It’s designed to be that tight so that the screws can’t somehow fall out and get sucked in to places they shouldn’t be 😅

    Testing done years ago by Gordon Jennings at Cycle showed that stock paper filters are far superior for actually filtering air compared to the so called high performance filters that need to be cleaned and reoiled. A clean engine is a long lasting engine. Using a high flow filter that doesn't filter out grit as effectively is a good way to have a prematurely worn out engine. This is well known by lubrication experts.

    @lifeofburch You use the original screws for the DNA filter. Like the oem, the holes are designed to hold the screws. Just push, I know as I did this a few months back.

      @LifeOfBurch  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Really?? It didn’t seem like there was any way they were getting in there 😳 I just got new screws with smaller heads and they seem to be working great.

    • @decaffeinated_coder

      Just a hard push will do it. The smaller head screw should hold it okay. You just need to watch when taking the filter off next time. The first screw getting pushed in got the heart pumping and the air a little blue 😁

    I also added an open header from Black Widow Exhaust(UK), Pod 300, and wide band sensor to tune the open loop range. Still waiting for Smart Moto to come out with Euro 5 O2 sensor eliminator, so can final tune the close loop range on the PC 6. By the way, good job protecting the frame. The bottom of the gas tank can easily stretch it up!

    • @LifeOfBurch
      @LifeOfBurch  ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice man! Sounds like a solid setup. I was considering the Black Widow header, but it’s just not worth it to me. My ears already ring like crazy after a long trip, so I don’t wanna add more noise just for a couple extra hp. We’ll see if I change my mind after the dyno tune though if there seems to be substantial power left on the table 😅

    • @larifari4371
      @larifari4371 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Kent Gabrielson I thought one could brake into the closed loop wirh the wideband2 staying on the bike. In this case you would not need the O2 sensor eliminator from Smart Moto. All the others here seem to ignore this closed loop/O2-sensor problem wich is bit weird to me because the rebel runs almost always in closed loop.

    • @TheRebel1100Life
      @TheRebel1100Life ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@larifari4371 With the new LAF O2 sensors(narrowband) on the Honda Euro 5 bikes what will happen is the widebrand2 will fight back and forth with LAF sensor in the closed loop, so won't be able to adjust to better AFR than 14.7 + - error. I was only able to really adjust 0% throttle all the way through rpm and 80%-100% through rpm. This was the only open loop areas. Also, the Euro 5 LAF sensor use fluctuating voltage to detect issue with LAF sensor, so the old O2 eliminator trick of using a device to simulate constant voltage will trigger a CEL on the Rebel. I wish there was an ECU flash tuner for the Rebel, so many more advantages than a piggy back system. With that said the PC 6 with a little adjusting AFR at 0% throttle makes a world of difference to throttle response.

    • @larifari4371
      @larifari4371 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheRebel1100Life THX, wow, that is extremly interesting! So your WB2 could do effectively nothing but the Power Commander can at least have influence at 80-100 and more importantly 0% throttle all RPM, so engine braking can be really really reduced - did I get this right? This could in fact already explain the "world of difference" you discribe. You're giving me hope man :-))
      Well, at least some.
      I would be extremly grateful if you could post your %- of change values you wrote into your PC6 in the 0-throttle columm. Would also help others who are going serios with the power comander of corse. I will go on searching for a lambda solution wich most likely has to be a flashing as these effin sensor pieces make it so hard to fake them off.

    Just picked up a 1100 and I'm looking at a good pair of engine gards. T-Rex carrys a set but there too wide in my opinion. Craftride makes two or three different designs that look really cool and don't really take away the look of the bike like the T-REX ones do. What do you think about Craftride products? Did you ever purchase anything that carries that name. How is the quality in your opinion? Thanks 😊

    • @LifeOfBurch
      @LifeOfBurch  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve never looked into Craftride products so I can’t say honestly, but I’ve heard that their seats are high quality for what it’s worth. I personally just got some Burly Brand sliders. They offer much less drop protection than full engine guards, but will still protect the engine and frame in a serious crash. I just don’t like the looks of any engine guards for these things so far, but the Burly Brand sliders are sleek and understated so I like them. I’d like to get engine guards at some point, but I’m waiting for ones that aren’t an eyesore. I do like the look of the Endurance brand ones on WeBike, but not sure I’m ready to pull the trigger just yet.
