    After the saga with my Moza R9 V2 the time has come to also test the GT DD Pro if it overheats or not! While I am testing which temperatures it gets, I`m also talking about 5 reasons why I would buy it all over again and 3 reasons why I wouldn't buy it again.
    The game I played in this video is Assetto Corsa Competizione and I drove the Ferrari 296 GT3.

      I would definitely buy the Asetek LaPrima Bundle. It's 300 dollars/euros more expensive, but it has 12 nm of torque, and according to other reviews, it is way much better. In fact, it's the next steering wheel that will come on the channel soon.

    • @JulianNDL
      @JulianNDL  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      But it all depends on your budget. If you have a limited budget, i'd get the Fanatec CSL Ready2Race bundle, which costs 399 dollars. It's the 5 nm version, but you can always get the power booster kit and get all 8 nm of torque.

    Having worked with motors alot in my work i can tell you that a rated motor torque and output should be able to be achieved by said motor for 100% of its lifespan its set a rating for a reason it is given a operating rating that it should be able to continually output hour after hour day in day out if it is not able to do this the ratings are incorrect or overstated or poor design .

    • @JulianNDL
      @JulianNDL  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That is right, and this is how things should work, but with most of these DD wheels, the 8nm, 9nm, or 12nm torque power is just the peak power and not the constant power that they can sustain. Supposedly, the new DD and DDplus can sustain their maximum power at a constant rate, which is amazing, in my opinion.

    You're absolutely right, Fanatec has been in business long enough to know how to build and support quality products. However, for whatever reason(s), the seem to be unable or unwilling to do so. Fanatec's SR products still are generally first rate, but as with anything tech , they're only as good as the support the vendor provides. Fanatec's after-sales support is abysmal and getting worse. They're extremely slow (or altogether unresponsive), and maddeningly terrible at resolving hardware issues. Don't buy Fanatec- there are plenty of other quality options out there.

    • @JulianNDL
      @JulianNDL  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Luckily, until now, I did not have any problems with my Fanatec gear, so I can't talk about their customer support or their warranty department, from my experience. But, as I told other people on the channel, I don't mind, or I can understand a product that breaks in the warranty period, I mean everything can break. The most important part is customer support and how fast they're able to repair/replace the product. From what other people have written on my channel, I can say that Fanatec took care of their problems (yes, sometimes very slow).
      The only experience I have with customer support is with Asetek, and I can tell that it is out of this world! They reply within hours to every email or problem I had.
      Otherwise, I would recommend buying sim gear from resellers, not directly from the brand.

    I'm so sorry. a week ago I decided to buy a Fanatec DD Pro, but after reading articles on the forums and watching a few videos where there are various unpleasant sounds, the feedback is missing and here is the overheating which is too frequent, so I probably won't buy the Fanatec DD Pro. I thought that Fanatec was a TOP quality guarantee, I wanted to buy a Thrustmaster T 300, but then I said to myself that Fanatec is TOP, so I'll go for it, but within a week I changed my mind. I know that the Thrustmaster T300 is a class or two lower, but I also know from many people that they have been using it for several years without a single defect. So unfortunately I'll probably go to the T300 😕

    • @JulianNDL
      @JulianNDL  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      HI Milan. I never said that the GT DD Pro overheats. On the contrary, unlike my second R9 now, my GT DD Pro worked flawlessly in more than a year now since I owned it. It never overheats, I just had to readjust the wheelshaft once. Canceling the GT DD Pro and buying a T300 makes absolutely no sense. The T300 is a dinosaur in comparison to the GT DD Pro in all aspects, and it's the king of overheating and power source failure, which can't be replaced being an internal one. Leaving this aside, the T300 is not one or two classes below the GT DD Pro. The T300 is more of a toy, whereas the GT DD Pro is a direct drive unit built for sim racing.

    • @milanskarvada7492
      @milanskarvada7492 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@JulianNDL Thank you for answer. I know that the DD Pro is better than the T300, that's why I wanted it to have a TOP racing steering wheel. But after logging into the Fanatec /CZ/ group on Facebook (by the way, I'm from the Czech Republic) and finding out that many users there have problems with Fanatec DD Pro, for example one gentleman writes that he already has a third one and each time it lasted one month. So I'm very disappointed. I really want DD Pro, I'm afraid that I will complain about it after one month. I wouldn't be afraid of it if almost everyone on the forum didn't have a problem with it 😟 .

    • @JulianNDL
      @JulianNDL  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @milanskarvada7492 Always remember that people who are complaining are just a small part of the people who bought it, maybe under 1%-2%. No one will complain that their GT DD Pro works flawlessly.
      Also if you enter on a forum or a facebook groups for any product, in general, you'll only see negative reviews, because, again, nobody will complain that their product just works without any problems.
      In my opinion, it's understandable that an electronic product can break. It happens with everything, with mobile phones, tvs, radios, cars, etc.
      The most important part is the warranty part.
      I don't know your budget. It may be too pricey, but I would suggest having a look at Asetek La Prima Bundle. They're out of this world, from customer support to their products.

      @NoOne-zo6gj You did not. First of all, these things don't have an operation time frame, lol. That's just stupid. You play one hour, and then you need to turn it off? Again, it's just stupid. Second of all, my video is about the fact that the GT DD Pro (at least my GT DD Pro) NEVER OVERHEATS. Please tell me at what minute I ever said that it overheats? Again, i'm kindly asking you to watch the video because clearly you did not.
      And another thing, even if you play 10 hours without stopping, the wheelbase will never work 10 hours continuously at 100%. You'll reach 100% torque in just some tight corners for a few seconds, then it runs at lower torque power.
