I couldn't mount this onto my Sim Lab rig so I didn't test them. I do have a review on those pedals here (albeit the older version): th-cam.com/video/7MlNOgqLciw/w-d-xo.html - I didn't try the rim on the DD1 wheelbase so not sure about how that would perform. - Prices are all on the website and I've heard from commenters here that delivery is sometimes not available to some places. - My personal recommendation (finances withstanding) is to buy an alternative rim (McLaren GT3) and the load cell pedal. The pedal should be the first upgrade if any though. - Yes, the camera was in 0.1fps again. The camera is fine, I just connected it to the wrong USB port like a total noob. Please ask any more questions in the comments if you have them.

Just got the GT dd pro and new v2 pedals. Upgraded from the old v2 pedals and a csl elite. Only had it a day or two , only managed a couple of hours, not quite used to it yet but could immediately feel a better sense of where the limit of grip was. Felt I could push the car more as I had more information from the wheel. Took me a couple of laps and I was within a few tenths of my pb times in time trial. Can tell it’s far more detailed, just need to get used to it to get back up to pace. This is my third wheel and similarly when upgrading from my g29 to csl elite it didn’t immediately make my pace better but drastically improved my consistency. Which in racing is almost as important as pace itself.
We wish we could equip our pilots with some of these! Some of us still race using the DS4, but those things in Brazil are so expensive! If we get some sponsors one day, who knows...
Fanatec mimics what software publishers have been doing for a while: Create a product, cut a big chunk out of it and sell that as an upgrade, add on or in this case a "booster kit".
@@hotworm22 amazing bro. Keep in mind last wheel I used was Logitech back in the day on the ps3. Mainly got this to save money from going to the track a lot. Received my CSL DD (PC + Xbox Version) by the beginning of November. Personally, I think the Design of the GT DD fits the aesthetics of Gran Turismo as it was designed by Polyphony Digital, but I the rim that comes with the bundle looks rather cheap and plasticky. I am using my CSL DD with the McLaren GT3 wheel for AC and with the CSL Elite WRC wheel for Dirt Rally 2.0. It is an amazing upgrade to anything beltdriven and brings the experience way closer to Driving an actual car. If one can afford it, I would recommend either version of the Fanatec DD wheel for any sim racing fan 👍

Appreciate the honest review, very detailed as well. Just ordered one (express version) as an upgrade from a T-GT. I really wanted that ps5 compatability because of GT7.
I absolutely love my fanatec gt dd pro, I came from a g29 and it's night and day difference. I went with the boost 180 kit and will be getting the load cell soon. One thing to watch out for is the stem tends to work its way out causing your wheel to disconnect but it's a quick fix with a 5mm Allen key
Needed this comment! I'm on a g29 and was wondering if a DD wheel would be worth it. Was considering this wheel as GT has been my main sim game since the GT2 days
Just getting into Sim and wanted to start simple and ordered the G29. When I saw this package, I cancelled the G29 order as this platform allows for lots of upgrade. I even decided not to get the PS5 yet, and learn the sim world using my PS4. I already ordered my Omega GT Classic as I can add the seat as I get more into the sport.
Would you say this is a worthy upgrade from a G29? Is it a big enough leap, or would you say to just get a DD1? Edit: Appreciate all the feedback everyone!
@@don_arjun3743 the 8 nm Boost Kit is definetly worth the money. Way more details and more refined Force Feedback. I have not feedbad when playing gt sport with my dd pro . It works perfectly fine in iracing . For some reason it’s just smooth in gt sport no rumble at all .
Hey Steve, Just getting into sim racing, if your not going to use the Fanatec GT DD Pro feel free to send it my way! Love your videos, hopefully see you in a race somewhere!
Good to hear. Quickness of FF is the linchpin to all this sim racing since correcting mistakes on a wheel takes 10 years compared to a controller analog. Funny and sadly enough, an old IRL cars can still be had for the price of these wheels.
If I'm going to be racing with a wheel it'll be one with direct drive. I have a Logitech G29, which is one of the recommended entry wheel without direct drive... but I hate it. I absolutely hate it. Having a deadzone in the center feels so wrong and it disturbs me enough to take me out of the immersion and drive worse. You can do different things to reduce the deadzone, but mechanically it's simply not up to the task.
The pedals on my G29 have developed a habit of applying the breaks randomly. It’s the most frustrating thing as it can ruin a race. I just upgraded to the DD pro but it broke immediately and Fanatec customer service is terrible. Currently sat looking at the box waiting for Fanatec to email me back
Thanks for the review, about what I expected. Glad I preordered earlier, feel like it will be a big upgrade over my G29, and been wanting to get into Fanatec for several years. Their first PlayStation wheel base sold out super fast when it debuted.
@@PITAH1 I did, w the load cell, and booster kit. The wheel base has blown me away, the csl load cell brake took a lot of getting used to, since it doesn't really travel. I found adjusting to it wearing socks was better than shoes for this reason. Also, if Playstation users wish to add other wheel rims, I'd avoid anything w the csl universal hub.
@@XuandePD being a PlayStation user, I don't like the layout of the buttons on the CSL Hub. The "X" button is a press, on the Funky Switch which moves up/down/left/right and turns. So if you don't hit it dead on in a menu its easy to select something unintended. I also play in VR, so the wacky button layout becomes even more troublesome. For Instance top left corner of the left side is L2, ok fine, but top right corner of the right side is circle.
That's cool what they did with the buttons. Glad to see it was more than just some software compatibility and actual, beneficial features. But it's still stupid to me that they charge $150 for a, probably, $5 power supply to unlock the extra force. Seems like a predatory move. Also the "preorder" fee, as in paying more to get it earlier, seems really strange to me. What is the extra cost to ship it early that it is an extra $150?
i want to order one of these but without pedals as i already have the clubsport v3 pedals but there doesnt seem to be the option for just the wheel and boost kit sad times
I pre-ordered the 5nm one and the load cell pedal kit. I’m upgrading from a Logitech G29 (2.3-2.4nm), so I will definitely feel the difference!🤣 My rig is a Next Level Racing GT-Lite, and I may get the boost kit later on when I get a more sturdy rig. Great review Super GT. Thanks!
My main wheel atm is a Sparco TS-XW racer (have a TX as back-up) which is a great wheel but my T-300 shat itself and I haven't had much luck with the 2 Fanatec wheels I've had in the past. I loathe racing with a controller and both my wheels are PC/Xbox only so I'm wondering whether getting a $1700 AUD wheel for GT7 (although it would be an upgrade for my PC too) is worth it. Is the jump from TS-XW to this, THAT big of a difference or am I better off racing like a pleb in GT and not worrying too much about a slight upgrade for my go to sims like AC?
I wonder if you can use those thumbstick looking buttons for looking around the car in games like euro truck simulator 2. Not that id get this wheel to play that game only, but it would be nice to have.
I desperately need a wheel now, my 122 day logged on, and I got second place 🥈 with fastest laps and clean race! That will will surely come with a PS4 pad!
When I was 14 I bought myself a Fanatec CSR with the shifters and the CSR elite pedals. Loved that wheel. It was my first experience with a racing wheel aside from a dinosaur wheel my dad had on pc when I was like 5. I sold my wheel stupidly when I was 17 because I didn't have somewhere to play it/was too lazy to build myself a rig. Last year I decided to get back into racing and bought myself a thrustmaster t150 pro setup. I thought the savings would be worth it, they're not. If you're getting thrustmaster, go higher in their range if you're serious about the hobby. The t150 is extremely plasticky and quite flimsy. I can't wait to get my graphics card finally so I can get into pc racing. I have my eyes on the CSL DD Pro.... once you go fanatec, other brands feel inferior.... 😅
Mate your very good, I wish I could rac like this, I just bought my first wheel G29, I don't have the reflexes like you do but I have always loved GT. Is I was thinking of the Fanatec but perhap in a few months so I can get used to racing with a wheel. The G29 is good but frustrating the wheel is so small, it's annoying. What are your thoughts and recomendations.
Do you know what I think, Fanatec give us an honest date for the purchase of DD1. By the way, the steering wheel looks ridiculous, something that logitech has thrown together.
I don't get how anyone thought that wheel rim was a good idea. is it something about playstation that justifies this weird aesthetic? cuz pretty much everyone seems to hate it a lot...
Thinking back to when you used the CSL Elite, is this a worthwhile upgrade for someone currently using a CSL Elite? That's what I'm struggling with. I have a CSL Elite and want to get a DD wheel, but I don't want to buy the DD1 bundle since I don't need pedals or a rim. Especially not that ugly af GT rim...
Maybe its smart idea to say that you have a Fanatec affiliate link in the description? That you'll get a commission when people use your link to buy. I'll apologized in advance if i missed that part

But you need a good rig don’t bother with a playseat challenge or something
@@stewiegriffin8696 fuck dude I'm mounted to a table with a g29 and I feel I can do fine and hang with people on online sport no problem
@stewiegriffin I use a T-GT on a desk that makes the screen goes shakie shakie, so you dont exactly need a racing rig. But I do understand where you are going with the comment :)
@@the-real-big-vic7359 I'm still using my trusty G25 that I got when GT5 came out lol
@@stewiegriffin8696 i race in a playseat challenge with a csl dd and VR, and its fiiiine. Sure you lose some fidelity to the flex of the seat but it is still really good.
As I see it, DD wheels have a more natural feel and thus the reactions can be more precise and effective. That's why they help with consistency.
The wheel itself is dogshit. D-shaped wheels are garbage.
@superGT you just casually mentioned something noone else has mentioned haha 4:16 the extra buttons will help out so much. Your the first person I saw demonstrate them being used.
If you were on Radar and used the direct buttons to change Fuel or Break Balance, would it automatically go back to display Radar after like 1-2 seconds, or would you need to manually step back onto the Radar display?
@@hevi2866 It stays on the last thing you changed. So if you're on radar then change the fuel, it stays on fuel.
@@Super_GT not ideal but definitely better than previously. Hope there will be more button and UI customizations in GT7. Will wait upgrading from G29 till then. Cheers!
Lol I'm using a Logitech g29 attached to a card table
Can this rim withstand the intense strain brought upon it when ramming other drivers off the track?
The real question is, can you handle flying headfirst into the tv if you ram?
Good, straight up review my brother! I appreciate that!✊🏾
Fanatec mimics what software publishers have been doing for a while: Create a product, cut a big chunk out of it and sell that as an upgrade, add on or in this case a "booster kit".
Yet it’s still cheaper and better than their own predecessor. Perspective matters but hater’s gonna hate.
It isn't ugly at all, it is just a bit basic to suit the taste of many different players. Definitely worths every single penny
Ordered it Sunday the 19th and delivered today 22nd. Pretty damn fast.
How is the wheel?
@@hotworm22 amazing bro. Keep in mind last wheel I used was Logitech back in the day on the ps3. Mainly got this to save money from going to the track a lot. I’m a track junkie but this is pretty fun and realistic. Im amazed at the feedback it gives I dropped about 1300 -1400 on the GT dd pro with the power add on with express and the next level racing stand. Only down side is wish the wheel is a little small.
I was actually wondering if it was worth upgrading my CSL Elite to the CSL DD...
Great honest review here. I think polyphony have ruined the look of the rim but the base looks like a great value way to get into a DD
You can switch the rim out easy peasy.
@@pherron7471 yeah but I don't want to pay for a rim and pedals I'm never going to use. Definitely will be looking to buy when the base is available on its own though

Awesome, good luck!
I'm confused and a bit disappointed that Fanatec didn't send ME one of these too. What gives, Steve?

I'm starting to feel a lot of chatter in my T300RS after its 5-6 years of service, and it's time to replace. I think I'm pulling the trigger on the Gran Turismo DD Pro immediately after watching this video.
I kinda like the low FPS camera, it's like a movie, like Goodfellas.
Mine should be here Friday and I’m upgrading from a T150 pro. Hoping I’ll like it.
Glad he showed the installation process, really got to admire SuperGT's technical abilities!
just the way you represented this wheel is the most best way to describe it . Well done! thank you :)
I definitely do like the updated design of the base as well as the amount of buttons on the rim itself
ordered mine earlier, upgrading from g29, really excited to trying direct drive!
I wish I could buy a couple of it to equip myself and the other team driver in our team, we both don't have one yet, but at the prices they're coming to Brazil... not in a million years will we be able to get even one... things in Brazil are prohibitively expensive, unles we get some sponsorship here I guess we'll keep driving with our DS4s for a long time rs!
Thanks for your excellent work as always! Keep going pal!
Thanks for the really honest review! I've pre-ordered the premium version but I'll definitely be picking up the McLaren and formula rims in the future!
Appreciate the honest review, very detailed as well. Just ordered one (express version) as an upgrade from a T-GT. I really wanted that ps5 compatability because of GT7.
The express is the one that comes without the boost and just two pedals right ?
Cause if so I’ll go for this and just get the v3 pedal and the shifter

I absolutely love my fanatec gt dd pro, I came from a g29 and it's night and day difference. I went with the boost 180 kit and will be getting the load cell soon. One thing to watch out for is the stem tends to work its way out causing your wheel to disconnect but it's a quick fix with a 5mm Allen key
Needed this comment! I'm on a g29 and was wondering if a DD wheel would be worth it. Was considering this wheel as GT has been my main sim game since the GT2 days
We are going too see a new generation of drivers upgrading to DD and it's going to fun.
I have a csl dd and it was a absolutely huge jump from my g29
@@Yeetyfeetys Is it still worth it if you don’t get the 8nm boost kit? (G29 to GT DD Pro)
G29 has been the same since the g25 bro. Of course it’s a big leap.
@@don_arjun3743 the 8 nm Boost Kit is definetly worth the money. Way more details and more refined Force Feedback. I bought my CSL DD with the 5 nm base kit and upgraded 2 weeks later to the Boost Kit. If you are investing THAT amount of money, the ~150 € more don't make that much of a difference, but the 3 nm extra make an HUGE difference :)
@@MvG84 Thanks for letting me know! I think I’ll order the base kit, then save up for the boost kit👍
The 0.2 fps is a really game changer.
Hahaha I still haven't used a wheel for racing since I had one on PS2, to use for GT4! Planning on sorting a new tv and a ps5 in next few months and after that will be a wheel!
I don't have room to even think about getting a proper rig set up so I'll probably have to start with a very basic wheel + pedal set up and mount wheel to desk. If anyone has any specific recommendations for LOW end wheels and pedals that might keep me happy for a couple of yrs let me know! Also thank you for explaining what the hell a direct drive wheel even is! One day!
4:09 Can you also do this with other wheels? For example the McLaren GT3 V2
I ordered this wheel more than a month ago! Still have received nothing, the ups label is created but nothing is shipped. When you call the fanatec offices there’s no answer and no answers to my emails. Pity the website advertises the product is shipped within a week. Zero customer service be aware
Awesome I pre-ordered and can't wait for GT7 baby!
planning to wait till black Friday this year to pick this thing up, gonna be a while but worth the wait
Thank you for the review, Super GT!
I will be highly considering this in the future as an upgrade from my current G29 I use for GT Sport. Looks promising based on your review!
The individual buttons for the settings are really neat idea
If you use the McLaren wheel you need the quick release adapter if you have the boost kit?....
"Gran Turismo DD Pro
*It is possible to use High Torque Mode when using a QR1 Wheel-Side (ClubSport Quick Release Adapter)"
I have not feedbad when playing gt sport with my dd pro . It works perfectly fine in iracing . For some reason it’s just smooth in gt sport no rumble at all .
Hey Steve,
Just getting into sim racing, if your not going to use the Fanatec GT DD Pro feel free to send it my way! Love your videos, hopefully see you in a race somewhere!
I replaced my thrustmaster tx for a fanatec csl dd but i have to wait till January 3rd to get mine. The days couldnt go any slower
Mine should turn up the day before GT7 releases, I will grab some V3 pedals when I have a chance and a boost kit along with the gt3 rim
what about the Thrustmaster T-GT II ? How is it compared to the DD Pro ?
Both are official licenced GT Wheels. both are in the 700-1000 dollar range
Good to hear. Quickness of FF is the linchpin to all this sim racing since correcting mistakes on a wheel takes 10 years compared to a controller analog. Funny and sadly enough, an old IRL cars can still be had for the price of these wheels.
yeah and then you need to insure it, maintain it and fill it up with gas. also what car you buying for 700 bucks?!
Love that 5 FPS cam, so retro
Ordered it today. I'm really looking forward to it!
Thanks great help I have just order this wheel and the and the 8 nm power pack and the Mc Laren wheel
that was nice driving at the end 👍
Did you get it?
@@PITAH1 I did, w the load cell, and booster kit. The wheel base has blown me away, the csl load cell brake took a lot of getting used to, since it doesn't really travel. I found adjusting to it wearing socks was better than shoes for this reason. Also, if Playstation users wish to add other wheel rims, I'd avoid anything w the csl universal hub.
@@rockydmiseComing in super late, but can you shed more light on why you would not recommend a csl universal hub wheel?
@@XuandePD being a PlayStation user, I don't like the layout of the buttons on the CSL Hub. The "X" button is a press, on the Funky Switch which moves up/down/left/right and turns. So if you don't hit it dead on in a menu its easy to select something unintended. I also play in VR, so the wacky button layout becomes even more troublesome. For Instance top left corner of the left side is L2, ok fine, but top right corner of the right side is circle.
With the pedals, you take out the clutch and install the Brake loadcell pedal you don't have all 3.
Can you do a quick video about center point calibration of dd pro csl? I did not get it with the manual. Cheers SuperGT
The shipping costs are actually understandable. Air freight is crazy expensive right now. The power adapter cost…less.
damn mate seems like your camera films it 20fps
as always good stuff, more gt!
thanks for the vid. didnt know if the mc laren gt3 would work on this wheel base.
Does fanatec ship orders? Too many stores anout people waiting way too long for their orders and customer service non-existent.
Great review imo. What cockpit would you recommend? I was considering the NextLevel GT Track cockpit. Thoughts/Feedback? Anyone? Thank you!
i want to order one of these but without pedals as i already have the clubsport v3 pedals but there doesnt seem to be the option for just the wheel and boost kit sad times

I just ordered too lol
Why this wheel is similar to the thrustmaster T-GT ll ?
Because it was designed by Polyphony.
@@momorious ok so it’s like a fanatec version of the T-GT ll
So you can finally adjust TCS, BB and fuel mapping all on the fly with this wheel?
Got the original TgT wheel , not used it with GT7 yet but it’s still a good wheel overall
6:50 what was that again???
Do you have any comments about Fanatic and GT7 force feedback compared to GT Sport? Looks like force feedback is lacking a lot in GT7.
Is this wheel compatible with the fanatec shifters and handbrakes as well on ps5?
Do you know what I think, Fanatec give us an honest date for the purchase of DD1. By the way, the steering wheel looks ridiculous, something that logitech has thrown together.
I don't get how anyone thought that wheel rim was a good idea. is it something about playstation that justifies this weird aesthetic? cuz pretty much everyone seems to hate it a lot...
Can you do a Podium dd1 review?
I actually bought it today over the DD pro. I’m not sure if I made the right decision
What settings are you running in your dd1 wheel base for gt sport?
Steve my man the camera does not reflect the content but damn you got the Forza Motorsport 6 in the descpription on a GT Sport video.
Created my own Kitt with the cls dd pro, first steering wheel ever. We need more practices 🤣
Do you recommend the Mclaren GT3 wheel rim over the F1 one for Gran Turismo? How does the wheel rim change the experience?
Depends what sort of cars you drive to be fair on the f1 rims they actually vibrate in the handles to give better indication on over/under steer
Less functionality in GT Sport.
Same here. My son and Fiancé Pitched in and got it for me!! I would go for it!! Dad is just a Different Game. GL
Maybe its smart idea to say that you have a Fanatec affiliate link in the description? That you'll get a commission when people use your link to buy. I'll apologized in advance if i missed that part
