Using the pigs to scout isn’t vegan. It’s still using them as beasts of burden and you’re not giving them a choice. BUT you stayed on one TC, so that lowers your carbon footprint.
Well, a vegetarian achievement was gotten at least.

It is okay to make small mistakes in the beginning like overlooking a nonvegan ingredient or misclicking a pig. Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good! As long as you are trying your best to develop towards veganism no one should fault you for it. I‘ve been vegan for almost six years now and a lot has changed since then to make it easier for us to live in accordance with our compassion and sense of justice for animals. Also: Awesome Mangonel shot! That looked kinda like the game winning move!
The scout cavalry should remain idle on the TC courtyard, since he exploits the horse whom he mounts. Moreover, the herdable animals should stay with him around the TC, instead of exploring the map, because those animals are actually serving a human master when scouting. And building the mill should be avoided in the Dark Age because of the donkey(s) inside of it.
@denny saputro The avoidance would be only in Dark Age. From Feudal Age on, the donkey is no longer used.

Isn’t franks or Teutons or Slavs the best vegan civs? They have good farming bonus. Slavs is probably the best with good monks and you can avoid killing by converting.
Slavs are good. Also arguably the Celts, that wood bonus will help a lot for farms.

what was the delete mangonel thing about ?
Mangonel fires uphill and does 25% less damage, it's not enough to kill the mangonel on top of the hill. Delete own mangonel before the projectile hits and it no longer counts as an up-hill hit, so you get full damage and in this case kill both Mangonels on the hill.
No arrows at all, coz of feather. So no Castles, Towers, garrison, archers etc.
No horses: you cant send them to battle... send them to death.
No leather, so no houses until Feudal/Castle age for most civs. No... Wait For It... army.
Kill your Eagle Warrior right after the game start and avenge the eagle.

Veganism isn't a diet, but a moral choice. So obviously using animal labor is not considered vegan unless there is no praticable alternative to it.
@@Sojabube Though what i'm wondering is what their views on humans would be, given that humans are animals. Especially seeing many humans get enjoyment out of working or being useful in any way. Does a hunting dog (besides the point of hunting not being vegan haha) count as animal labor even if that is in their nature. Genuinely curious how vegans would go about these dilemma's
@@archmilan I'm a vegan so I can answer even though other vegans may disagree. Animal labour is usually not considered vegan, it's forcing them to do what their owner want, it's considering them as tool. Hunting is not vegan so having a hunting dog is out of the equation. Dog helpers for blind people however is different, they love helping humans and they're treated very well, they're also a great help for blind people so most vegans are ok with that.
@@ColonelJeanmi I do realize hunting in and of its own is out of the equation that's why I posed that question since i'm genuinely interested in where the borders lie on these kinds of issues. What constitutes an animal and what constitutes labour? Although I realize, as you've noted, that this may differ greatly among vegans themselves. The point of the hunting dog was less about the act of the human hunting and more about the natural behaviour of dogs to hunt. To a certain degree training a dog to be a service animal can be considered animal labour, which then raises the question; Is it just about what jobs animals (whatever that may mean) love to do (insofar we can tell) or is it more arbitrary on the part of what human animals consider poor/just treatment of other animals? As you can probably tell i'm by no means vegan, but i'm very interested in how those distinctions in what is deemed ok or not ok (whether it's about veganism or other social issues for that matter) come about. In any case, thanks for elucidating this topic for me.
@@archmilan Easy question first : "What constitutes an animal" any living being in the animal kingdom. Technically that includes humans as well although veganism is about non humans. Most vegans do care about issues with humans but that's another thing.
"what constitutes labour?" That could be a long philosophical question as labour is a vague term. Vegans talk about exploitation : they're against forcing an animal to do what they don't want, what are harmful to them just for humans' benefits, which is different that an animal doing things by their own will.
Saracens challenge- dont use pigs.
Indians challenge- don't use cows
horseriding is not vegan. Pig scouting on the other hand, I asume they do it for the cause.
This game isn't very vegan friendly. As well as the obvious.
Using the sheep and scout to scout is not vegan.
The mill uses a mule which is not vegan, from feudal some civs use wind or water so if you had those civs you could get a mill in feudal. Also you can't researcher horse collar.
No killing enemy cavalry so you could only convert them.
Archers use feathers for fetching, however, crossbow bolts have wood fetching. So no archers until crossbow is researched. No leather armour for them though.
Meso civs seem to love putting feathers and jaguar skins on everything, so luck you didn't get one of them. But then their trade carts don't use animals (not relevant in 1v1).

Thats one of the reasons I NEVER follow pre-built build orders in any game. I only ever play the game, learn how to micro and macro efficiently, and go on the fly. Pertaining yourself to a build puts you in a vacuum.. anywhere outside of that bubble, and you crumble. Move like the wind around every obstacle. Be like the water.

No, it's just an act of self defense. Vegan means avoid harming that is unnecessary as far as possible.
Surely you should be playing an American civ? (Though obviously refuse to use eagles or jags because they wear pelts) And refuse to harm enemy cavalry?
