Its important to note that , many people play this game purely for its singleplayer and that the multiplayer has had a rocky start for a few these days. Perhaps what we saw in those stats there is more kills with trebuchets due to campaign missions , than double boar lures in dark age.
Bacon is the most important resource in AOE.

4:05 biggest tip here: don't be a zeroempire and forget the villager production while you hunt down a boar ;)
100% I wasn't training villagers in the majority of the clips because that wasn't the focus :P
Not to mention, they will get housed most likely.
@@codesuzakugeass If I'm not mistaken in most build orders you have at least one or two on wood before you lure the first boar. All you have to do is make the wood vill build a house, if you watch yourself you won't be housed.
this reminds me of a conversation I was having with my friend the other day, he was talking about the DE achievements and how I went out of my way to get the "dark dinner" one, meanwhile I was just "but dude, getting both boars is a must lol"
Way back when I was playing Age of Kings on CD I never hunted boar , I always got my sheep and happily went to berries lol.
We all did back then. Unless there were 3 boars together on black forest. And then we would mill them lol
I think most players back then kill boar as part of the route. sheeps>boars>deers&berries>farms

I feel like if this were a sotl video he would have mentioned the gothic and Aztec resource carry bonuses as well... if there hadn't been so many claims that the beginning about this being the most complete and definitive video ever on the subject I would not have expected bonuses like that to be mentioned quite as much, but the standard was set pretty high by the intro. Also, the berbers villager speed bonus means they can lure these animals farther... Just saying, I feel like there was even more completeness that could have happened here. Overall, this was an amazing video and there was a lot of detail I did not expect as well! Great job, ZE

In the defense of the players getting the Treb achievement, I seem to have gotten it from simply killing 25 buildings. I think it may be bugged.
Im sure I have not killed 25 units with trebs. But I got it
First time I built a treb I realized I could snipe villagers my enemy (AI) had mining gold with one behind some trees and decided to have some fun by leaving it there doing his thing while I boomed to see how it would react. After a while I just got the achievement and proceeded to laugh my ass off.
I have probably actually killed many more than 25 units with trebs but in HD edition. I have barely played Definitive Edition and yet have that achievement. I agree that it looks bugged.
HONESTLY. I always do boar in the feudal age. Sheep is for the dark age boar and deer for the next age. UNLESS their is a boar very close to my town center during the start, i mean REALLY CLOSE where no luring has to be done pretty much.

I have a question how much food per second you gain from fishing with vills?
The biggest thing I think you missed in the beginning is "When should you take your boar" and also "how to time your boar with your sheep", but other than that great vid
when you about to finish the sheep then take on the boars, after that send 2 villagers to kill deers and the rest to pick the berry bush.
@@apple-on5pq im not a pro, but why on earth would you use berries when there are deer? isnt it more useful to skip berrys until feudal and take deer with more villagers and make use of the higher collectionrate?

Wowie, I was already doing the teenager strategy, with the sheep gathering and one at a time technique. I just figured it'd be most efficient, and I'm super new :o

thx for tips Zak, but how do I kill the Iron Boar to become King of the Huns?
In HD (steam) edition, whenever i lure a boar to my tc then garrison villager, and if i dont attack the boar right away with other sheep vils (for example theres still food on last sheep), he goes back. while on every video of boar luring i watch, the boar remains there. Anybody knows why this happens?
If you time the lure right before finishing the 4th sheep, you can shift click the villagers under the TC to the boar, and they will start attacking as soon they finish the sheep. No need for fancy control group micro.
One thing I like to do is to set the TC waypoint next to the boar so if I forget about my vil I don't lose them

Well deoends what your strategy is if you are going for a drush i dont think you will have time to do 8 sheep and 2 boars. Maybe 1 of the boars at most
How many regular vill hits does it take to kill a boar? If I were to aim for a one-shot killing, how many vills would I need?
What was funny was that I got this achievement day one simply by doing what was suggested in the Art of War missions! ^^
Question: Is it worth hunting the extra clusters of boar on Black Forest? They're usually in groups of three and far enough away that you have to mill them. Seems obvious if you're Mongols or Goths; not sure about everyone else.

dude you're exceeding our expectations here !
if you attack the boar twice to lure it wont change aggro when you get it back to the TC so you wont run the risk of losing a low health villager to the boar (unless your lure villager is low because of distance or mistakes)
Some people play the campaign where you get too use trebs but not be in the dark age. Therefore can’t get this achievement. So far I have finished the Spanish and french campaigns and am now working on Barbarossa.
I usually like to park the next sheep to be used behind all the villagers working on the first sheep, like she's looking over their shoulders.

If you dont want to lose a villager just set gather point near the boar und then attack it and you can directly move back to your tc. So you wont forget.
I remember that in AoC the iron boar didn't actually give you his food and it just rotted away, did it changed in DE?

Another thing worth mentioning is screwing up your opponents boar lure with your scout. If you manage to make your scout last hit the boar, they get nothing. If you manage to block the luring villager, it will disrupt their lure and kill their villager.
If you manage to take their boar, you can scout lure it from their base to yours. Pretty much no matter what you do to mess up their boar situation, it hurts them significantly.
Well... that was my first achievement in the game. An old, someone will say all- know-trick, it's always useful.

If there's a sheep nearby I just have it follow behind the vill back to the tc. The boar never catches the vill
