    I was always a Ford guy for years. Started with a brand new 1986 F150, then a 95, a 99 SD, a 12 SD, and a 14 F150 with ecoboost. I've owned a 16 GMC Sierra Denali 1500, and a 2006 Silverado 2500hd. In 2020 I bought the Ram 1500 4x4 crew. I found my truck!

I’ve had a 2013 RAM Sport and a 2018 RAM Rebel, which has been traded on a 2021 RAM Rebel still waiting on delivery. My ‘13 had the “Hemi tick” at startup, which was a warranty fix replacing the exhaust manifold bolts and I had both front fenders repainted due to corrosion caused from road salt getting behind the stiffener panels, covered under warranty. Just had hood corrosion on the aluminum hood of my ‘18 also covered under warranty. Aside from that, great trucks no mechanical issues to speak of and can’t wait for the ‘21 to arrive!

    • @scottandrews4822

And I’ve have my truck since October 2020 and have no issues so far. Oil change, wheel alignment and such so far. RAM did go high with the interior! Love my new first truck TRX BABY!

It is almost impossible to build a reliable truck and keep updating them every few years. Sure the Toyota Tundra is rated as most reliable, but they are literally the same vehicle for estimated 10 years other than cosmetic changes. The tundra lacks behind all others in mpg’s, safety and ride and comfort and looks. I mean they sell under 200k per year while Ram, Ford and GM sell that in 2 weeks.

  • @RobCabreraCh

In the past 10 years, my family has had a Chrysler Town & Country since 2013, a 2006 Peugeot 407 from 2012 - 2017, a Chevy Sonic from 2014 - 2019, a Toyota Camry from 2006 - 2018, a Ford Explorer from 2018 - 2021, and a Ford Edge from 2018 - 2021. So, plenty of cars from different makes and different segments, plus some that we kept for only a few months while shopping around.
As an owner of all of them, I can definitely say that they are all about the same in terms of reliability in our experience, except for the Peugeot which was awful and spent its life being towed and "repaired" until I straight up threw it away. The '06 Camry and the '13 Town and Country have been the second worst, however, they both reached 500k+ km (~300k mi), and with that much mileage they are obviously prone to be problematic.
This year we moved countries and we bought 4 new vehicles. We were also able to go higher on trim levels than we had ever before. So finally, my very well loved and well used Town & Country will get some well deserved rest this year.
The reason why I'm saying all of this, is that after all of those vehicles, and a lot of shopping around, I can safely say that I like Fords and FCAs.
The Explorer and the Edge were both absolutely fantastic! They weren't used that much in the 3 years we had them, but they were rock solid. Also the interiors were ok, nice enough, but not insanely nice (we had a Titanium and a XLT). I loved them!
However we decided to go for a RAM 1500 Limited to replace the Town & Country. I liked the F-150 a lot too, but with the current shortage situation getting one (or anything for that matter) was absolutely impossible!
But the main reason for going Ram over Ford was the interior. It is not just plain better, but it also makes more sense in its usability IMO. The RAM bins are so awesome to keep tools and fluids that I don't want to keep on the bed. The back seats fold up so my dog can get inside and get some AC without damaging the leather seats, or throwing him on the bed. The center console was also more to my liking over the Ford's. And reliability doesn't scare me that much, since IMO all car brands are about the same, and new cars hold up nicely.
I'm excited to take delivery of my 1500 Limited! It should be here this week or maybe next one. I've been waiting since july, due to the shortages, which also forced me go for a Limited instead of the planned Bighorn.
    Wish me luck!

I have a 2016 ram 1500 5.7 SLT. It just reached 110000 miles and that’s 75% city driving stop and start traffic . So issues that I have encountered while owning the RAM. Was exhaust manifold bolt snapping off at. 85000 miles same time replacing both upper control arms and bushings. At 90000 my Evap core died so had to replace that. 100000 miles AC compressor clutch froze so got an aftermarket one from eBay for around 250$ works perfectly fine .
Don’t know if it’s normal for the ram my front wheel hubs were worn which triggered the ABS control module. So had the hubs changed as well as the module and wheel speed sensors
The front hub assembly got them aftermarket work perfectly well .
But still get abs service light come on and off.
Before changing the hubs the ABS would be triggered while normal slow breaking , not any more ,
Maintence is done by me religiously royal purple 5w20 HMX I change the oil and filter every 3 miles
Spark plugs everything else has been done accordingly .
So any thoughts on my RAM considering most of the driving is city driving

@PizzaBoy I never had any issues with the suspension, including the shocks, on my Ram. On the TRX, Ram used Bilsteins only because of the suspected severe use of that vehicle. Remember, Ram is not in the shock building business. They buy them from another vendor. I never had an issue with my Ram in 156K miles. I would have gone much further but someone hit me. I think this is false rhetoric.

@@scottandrews4822 to be a little more nice about this. I spent 45k on a 2020 5th gen Ram. The truck is mostly aluminum. the hitachis bounced the truck all over the place when driven through rough places. With the yellow and blues I put on the truck handled the rough stuff better but I still wanted more. so we did BDS UCAs and 5100 Bilsteins. That sealed the stability deal big time. The reason they put that special system on the TRX is because Bilsteins engineering is just off the hook. Bilstein aint no dam joke. They come on some Rams...Rebels use yellow and blues and even Fox. @@scottandrews4822 you do realize that JD power associates will award manufacturers that pay them right? I’m not denying whether or not ram is better than ford or ford is better than ram, but Jd power associates is not a good gauge on quality

@@mattweeks2272 Look at all the OTHER RESPONSES: most [>90 or more %] show that RAM IS THE BEST 🚚 TRUCK BRAND! Most negative responses to this statement come from people who have NEVER owned a Ram truck - not a Dodge truck - a RAM. Look at the new ones, drive them, and YOU will be a convert too. Things change. Yes, I AGREE with you that their quality was suspect in the PAST. But...look at them now. Now, not in the past. Take a look at all 3 🇺🇸 US [Ford/Chevy/GM], the top Japanese brands [of 1/2 ton trucks - Toyota and Nissan -, and ANYBODY else you want, and then get back with me. If you have an OPEN MIND and not a --#ConspiracyTheory-- one and yiu read the article posted below, , you will see that JD POWER AND MOTOR TREND [Back to Back to Back Truck of the Year ** THREE ** YEARS IN A ROW] are RIGHT of their awards. Anyone can pay anyone to do ALMOST ANYTHING. Yes, corruption does exist in the 🌎, everyone thst is an adult knows that. But, there are also GOOD QUALITY BUILT items in the world too and awards are EARNED. That...that...is what RAM has done; they have come from worst to first. Whi cares who is the leader in SALES? McDonald's sells billions of 🍔. Doesn't mean their good or good for you [obviously talking about Ford]. Just tale a look at RAM and get back with me; drive one; keep an OPEN mind and compare them to any other 1/2 ton trucks you want. They'll change your mind. Maybe someone paid you for your comnent......just look at them. You'll change your mind. And quit being a --#Conspiracy-- Theorist. I voted for Trump and I drive a Ram 1500 Hemi with the 3.92 gear and an 8 speed. Over 160K TROUBLE FREE, NORMAL MAINTENANCE miles. It's the best truck I have ever owned, and I would get in it and drive to CA tomorrow, now, in a month - whenever - and I live in Georgia, on the other coast. Look at them and get back with me. I am looking forward to speaking with you again. 😊 You'll see. Ram CRUSHES THEM. And no - I do not work for them in any way or get money from them in any way. Dude - take a look - things change. You'll be impressed. And if you say Ford is the best, well --- uh, never mind.
