    I’ve owned (3) f150’s: two ecoboost and (1) 5.0. Just bought my first Ram and I am hooked. The Hemi 5.7 drive experience is what hooked me. I leave for work early so I can take the scenic route. I used to listen to podcasts on my 30 minute drive when I had the Ford. Now, I listen to the rumble of the Hemi.

      Same here, 3 F150's same as yours, took the chance on a RAM hemi 5.7 Laramie Night Edition, wow, what a drive differnce, and the fit and finish is just so much nicer. One thing I will miss though, the twin Turbo towed 13,000 lbs effortlessly and regular driving I averged 19 MPG, so far the RAM with the 5.7 I am barely averaging 16 😒 but the handling, the smoothness and the total feel is worth the extra dollar, plus I don't miss my problamatic 10 speed transmission.

Power running boards, power pedals, all wheel drive, rear locker, built in trailer brake controller, twin panel moon roof, heated cooled massaging seats, 360 degree camera, multi colored mood lighting, full led"s, mirror spotlights, power down tailgate, all aluminum body, etc. People can't believe my truck is a 2015 ! The other manufacturers have come a long way, but will always love my Fords. Looking to get a new F150 Platinum within the next year or two. I did exactly opposite in 2019, because number of issues I had with Ram's electronics was a turn off including mediocre towing experience, crazy gas mileage with my 28ft 7200lbs Travel Trailer RV. F150's AutoPilot self braking and active collision alert saved me so many times, which also dropped my insurance premiums by almost 20% compared to RAM in 2019 which still doesn't have that feature. With the prices so high for new trucks, picking which one to buy is harder than ever. but I think the key comparison comes down to which one is running perfectly with 200,000miles, 10 years later. I see very few Rams (gas engines) running or they are falling apart. Seems that I see a lot more old F150s on the road. Comparing any NEW truck is tough, as we tend to focus only on the bling and the cool stuff. but great video.

    Truck guy here. Grille design and 4x4 stickers and tailgate gimmicks are not on my list of priorities. The 7.92kw pro power option in the F150 hybrid makes this a no brainer. For powering tools or camping or powering an off grid cabin, it would be awesome! Whenever power outages and rolling blackouts hit as out infrastructure crumbles, I'll be able to power my house with a generator on wheels with a 30 gallon fuel tank. As a hybrid it can get over 20mpg. That and the additional 100# of torque. And the 3.5 is very reliable. I have no idea what reliability issues an e-torque hemi is going to have after a few years. I'm not much into plastic molded barbwire, but that Ram interior is pretty nice, but to me, that's its only advantage. In the long run, the V6 ends up in the shop for turbo seals, dried hoses cracking and tons of other issues. How do I know?

The interior is nicer (more robust) in the RAM, but the Ford has a better more contemporary layout for function. I’d say no to the off-road stickers question. I may be buying a new Raptor and will be choosing the sticker and rear application delete. Between Ram and Ford, I’d be inclined to try out Ram again; but love the door keypad too much, and the Ford lane-centering tech (along with CoPilot) is the final nail in the coffin for Ram. Not to mention the Ford seems to be faster in every scenario that doesn’t include the TRX.

    Great assessments. However at this point many of these comparisons are a competition between which manufacture can provide the most features in the top trims. I feel like this would be better suited for reviews. Comparisons should be apples to apples (as best as possible) for the cost. Ultimately the personal preferences make more of an impact in what the market wants vs what can be offered. Might as well compare prototypes if this is how these will go. had a Ram 1500 for the last 10 years. Just bought a 2023 F150 Limited. Was not in the market for a Ford but it has soooo much more to offer.

    I’ve leased 4 rams. The last 2 ended up in the shop multiple times. My last one I didn’t even make it home from the dealership. Had to bring it right back. Ended up in the shop 4 times in 2 months…needless to say I have an f150 now

    Yes! I was waiting for this comparison! Definitely sending this to my dad since he had 2001 F-150 and then bought a 2011 Ram 1500 and is now on the hunt for his next truck and can’t decide between the two

    I liked that this truck review was a bit different than most others online. What I mean by this is that they reviewed them from more of a realistic perspective for how the majority of buyers will ACTUALLY assess these trucks themselves when shopping. Focusing mostly on aesthetic aspects, functionality, their general experience and overall feel of the trucks as most actual buyers of these trucks do. They didn’t get stuck on or focus on technical specs or what each may or may not be capable of because they both obviously are quite capable. Great realistic review @TheStraightPipes !!!

    funny thing ford said that the 3.5L V6 can tow more than their V8 engine which my dad and I was very surprised when we were looking for a new F-150

    • @manpan4693
      @manpan4693 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The ecojunk is horrible the turbo does not increase the towing at all it’s to much for the little v6 just wait a few years you will see

      Ya if you are looking to tow get HD truck. There's no other way

    • @raionshishi8290
      @raionshishi8290 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@manpan4693 It can tow based on the way it is equipped, it can tow more overall. It is not too much for the v6 considering many people buy these in fleet and use them in this exact way, the fact that it has more hp and tq and is overall more potent actually makes it better at towing than any other engine, and at higher areas it would also still tow better compared to an N/A engine because of the difference of altitude and air. I have seen way to many comparison videos and videos of people talking about the Ecoboost and the reality of it is that it runs fine in most conditions, it doesn't overheat all the time, it can tow incredibly well and strong, it is not too much for it to handle and it can tow more.

      I tow a grand design 2400bh. Tows like a champ. Never any issues with the 3.5. It just wants to keep pulling. Remember how much you tow depends on payload capacity not trailer weight. There is a big difference.

    • @1986hvwchampion
      @1986hvwchampion 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fishonf1508 my wife's uncle had the ecoboost 3.5 he towed for a few years and thought it was great 👍. Until he bought a 6.7 powerstroke 1 ton. And it made him realize how hard the 3.5 was working compared to the diesel. If you tow once in a while it's okay. But frequently heavy load,Definitely a diesel HD there's no comparison. You will never know until you try a HD truck that's my point.

    Love the tailgate on the Ram and would really like to see something similar on Ford. That's really all I'd take from the Ram. Driven both with the same engines as in this video and I do enjoy the turbos more. I'd get a tremor package though and remove the stickers and rear tremor badge.

    • @trance20001
      @trance20001 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You will hate turbos when it will come to replacing them. Buying them is cheap but the labor to remove engine to replace turbos is insane. Also, the Ford 10 Speed is the most unreliable transmission in the full size pickup segment.

    Let me start off by saying that i'm a 28 year old, overweight, balding, half jew, half italian, former new yorker. I am NOT a truck guy.
    That being siad that Ram has the soothing plush leather interior of a Lincoln Town Car mixed with a Cadillac Coupe Deville and I now COMPLETELY understand why every Tony Soprano looking, construction company owning, italian stereotype on Staten Island and north Jersey drives a black Ram 1500

    The F150 (mid size) truck bed is 2 inch longer than the RAM's. As a 6'7" guy that makes a difference for sleeping/camping in the truck bed.
    Also, you can have the Ford in double cab 8ft bed, with the RAM you can't.
